Well performing cryptocoins today from top 20 (https://coinmarketcap.com/coins/)

Dash price explodes 100%, BCH breaks out as Bitcoin cools off below $40K
https://cointelegraph.com/news/dash-price-explodes-100-bch-breaks-out-as-bitcoin-cools-off-below-40k

Quote
However, the biggest gainer over the past 24 hours is Dash with its price rising roughly 40%. During the short parabolic rally, DASH surged by over 100% from $95 to as high as $194, only to pull back to the $140 level.

With regards to Dash, there is also this little snippet of information :

A major announcement for DASH is coming at the end of the month rumoured to be inclusion into the Grayscale Trust as a new insitutional investment vehicle to allow the Wall St. fat cats easy access to accumulate DASH.

If true, it would not be unreasonable to expect an even stronger price movement for Dash end of the month.

Also strong price performance from Ethereum Classic (+26.92%) today. Looks like whales are slowly starting to diversy their assets into Altcoins.
One altcoin after another is getting pumped these days.

Altcoins are still very far away from Altcoin Year / Altcoin Season / Altcoin Month.
Link : https://www.blockchaincenter.net/altcoin-season-index/

Of course you don't want to wait untill it is actually Altcoin Season, before investing in Altcoins.
That needs to be done before that, to maximize one's own profits (personal opinion, not investment advice).
42  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The fate of privacy cryptocurrencies on: January 10, 2021, 12:45:16 PM
Agreed, Just take a look at DASH the team is saying DASH was not a privacy coins. I have been seeing so many times DASH shillers are comparing the DASH coin with MONERO.

This is what Dash is saying :

Quote
Dash’s transaction rules are identical to Bitcoin, and therefore for regulatory and compliance purposes Dash can and should be treated identically to Bitcoin.
Source : https://media.dash.org/wp-content/uploads/Dash-PrivateSend-Legal-Position-EN.pdf

Dash is as much a privacy coin as Bitcoin (in other words, not a privacy coin).

* Dash and Bitcoin both have a public open blockchain, where transactions, amounts, senders and receivers are publicly viewable (pseudo-anonymous)
* Dash and Bitcoin both optionally offer privacy on their transactions, through a form of CoinJoin in their wallets. Bitcoin use Privacy Wallets for that and its CoinJoin usage on its network was about 4% in 2019, Dash use its Dash Core wallet for that and the current CoinJoin usage (they call it PrivateSend) on its network is about 1-3%
* Dash main use case is not providing optional privacy on its transactions, Dash main use case is providing instant, secure, protected against double spending, transactions that can be used by anyone, anywhere in the world. Dash transactions settle in 1-3 seconds on its network (send - receive - spend), through InstantSend
* Dash is tranforming into a technology stack platform for building decentralized applications (Dapps) on the Dash network, which will expand Dash use cases

https://dashplatform.readme.io/docs/introduction-what-is-dash-platform
https://bitcoinist.com/dash-launches-public-alpha-for-social-payments-wallet/

* Dash is a fork of Bitcoin

Just because Dash (just like Bitcoin) offers optional privacy, does not make Dash (or Bitcoin) a privacy coin.
Privacy coins are those coins, that have one main use case and one main focus : privacy.

If Litecoin continues with its plans to implement privacy features, will that make Litecoin suddenly a privacy coin ? I guess that depends on Litecoin offering that privacy through
a choice (optionally) or not. Also it depends on Litecoin's use cases. And it depends if Litecoin wants to be associated with that 'privacy coin' label.

There is a real risk of Altcoins offering privacy / optional privacy on their transactions, getting classified as an Anonymity Enhanced Cryptocurrency (AEC) by the US government agencies.
Smaller US exchanges are uncertain about that classification and how to deal with that. Some of those smaller US exchanges choose to delist, rather then deal with it.
43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why Do Some People Still Ask For The Best altcoins? on: January 10, 2021, 12:28:12 PM
Talking about gems : here we have a trustworthy old altcoin that in a few months is bringing a major update to their Mainnet (5 years in the making) that will revolutionize the crypto space,
by introducing a decentralized API that allows : blockchain usernames, blockchain identity, paying to blockchain usernames, creating friend lists, Dapps, storage of Dapps data on the network,
and offering a decentralized Venmo-like experience to its users.

The name of that Altcoin : Dash

Dash price trend movement long term (monthly) :

A major announcement for DASH is coming at the end of the month rumoured to be inclusion into the Grayscale Trust as a new insitutional investment vehicle to allow the Wall St. fat cats easy access to accumulate DASH.

The info about Grayscale Trust is just a rumor, unconfirmed. If true, it would be an amazing development for Dash.
Whatever the major Dash announcement end of the month, the future looks bright for Dash, which today gained +100% in price :

Dash price explodes 100%, BCH breaks out as Bitcoin cools off below $40K

Target to confirm long term bullish trend for me personally : $211,71
Above chart does look very promising.

Top performing Altcoins today :

Like i mentioned before, attention from whales are shifting from Bitcoin to Altcoins. Altcoins getting pumped one after another. This started with Dogecoin, followed by Bitcoin SV and IOTA
and is now impacting Dash, Bitcoin Cash and Ethereum Classic.
Diversification from Bitcoin to Altcoins has begun in earnest.

A major announcement for DASH is coming at the end of the month rumoured to be inclusion into the Grayscale Trust as a new insitutional investment vehicle to allow the Wall St. fat cats easy access to accumulate DASH.

46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrencies with the cheapest fees in the world? on: January 09, 2021, 03:01:27 PM
Dash average transaction fees : $0.003

Source : https://terminal.bytetree.com/dash

Dash transactions settle on the Dash blockchain in seconds, fully protected against double spending and fully spendable by the receiver.
Send - Receive - Spend : 3-5 seconds

How does Dash achieve this : https://docs.dash.org/en/stable/introduction/features.html#instantsend

Dash transactions show as completed in the Dash Core wallet after just one miner confirmation, and spendable even before that one miner confirmation.
That brings Dash transaction settlement on its network on the same level as creditcard networks, while being decentralized and with far less transaction fees.
There are no additional fees for this instant transactions settlement feature, which is active across the Dash network.

Are you tired of high transaction fees ? Are you tired of having to look-up transaction fees manually, before making transactions ? Are you tired of having to re-do transactions
because of too low fees ? Are you tired of not being sure if your transaction even makes it to the blockchain? Switch to Dash.

What is Dash?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EDC1ioQ46m4

Check which Dash partners fully support Dash instant settlement feature and therefore allow ultra-fast trading and allow you to catch price difference opportunities across exchanges : https://www.dash.org/fastpass/

Soon you will be able to use Dash Social Wallet Dapp (currently in Alpha testing), which allow Dash users to create blockchain usernames, look-up usernames on the network, pay to usernames,
create friend lists, create profiles, add profile pictures :

Demo of DashPay Contacts and Notifications

Scheduled for release on Dash Mainnet in Q1, 2021 together with Dash Platform (a technology stack for building decentralized applications / Dapps on the Dash network).
The Dash blockchain username / Dash identity will be interchangeable across different platforms : Mobile Phones (iOS & Android) / Windows Desktop / Mac Desktop / Linux Desktop / Browsers / Internet

And we are back at $102, Dash price is stable as f.
But i do think something is brewing for Altcoins (including Dash) :

Source : messari.io

Slowly but surely the Altcoins are getting pumped again, one after another. Only a matter of time, before Dash gets pumped again (personal opinion)

Bitcoin RSI on the monthly chart : 87.56%
Bitcoin marketcap dominance : 70.1%

Interesting days.
48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: January 09, 2021, 01:47:39 PM

As previously explained, masternodes DO NOT mint coins. that "free" money you talk about is a more diversified distribution channel than mining alone

That's a philosophical point at best and irrelevant to markets because the masternode revenue is almost all profit. It's that "unearned profit" (from the market's perspective) that's being priced in rather than the value of the coin itself. The primary market can get a far higher mining quotient from the 9 mined coins above us in marketcap ranking because almost all of its investment goes towards upwards difficulty adjustments rather than straight into the pockets of existing holders as with Dash. (It does not get spent on mitigating Sybil attacks or delivering services).

If there are 1000 coins circulating as total supply, 999 "hodled" in wallets and only 1 sold, then that 1 coin sale establishes the marketcap for the entire supply. It follows therefore that if the coin supply cost base is heterogeneous (as it is with Dash) then the lowest value segment will drag the rest down.

So then why do you bother with dash at all? I don't get it, why would you expend so much energy into something you believe is so broken?

The blockchain space is being filled with many working models for many purposes. You put so much emphasis on "investment", you fail to see any other perspective. Not everyone wants to drive a Cadillac, the roads carry many vehicles of many shapes and sizes. Dash is a fully working product and it isn't going away. It may not be the luxury you so clearly want but wtf, if it weren't dash filling the space then it would be someone else. That's the nature of free markets, a size, shape and color for everyone.

"straight into the pockets of existing holders as with Dash" sounds like you're sore, how unjust it is. It's not. You don't like it, don't use it. Talk with your wallet is the ultimate messenger. I'm tired of people on the one hand talking trash, how worthless dash is (or becoming) and then in the same breath spouting on how MNOs are raking it in and how unfair they be so rich with "unearned profit". How does that work? - a worthless shitcoin yet filthy rich MNOs with "free money". A $100K shitcoin masternode. You can't have it both ways.

Funny part is that toknormal is a masternode operator.
Even more funny is that toknormal did not even vote with his masternode on the blockreward reallocation change decision proposal.

All talks but no action.
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bittrex delisting XMR, ZEC and DASH on: January 08, 2021, 11:45:45 PM
Following the rules of SEC does not require the delisting of Dash. Otherwise all US exchanges would have delisted Dash by now.
Dash fully complies with FATF & SEC guidelines : https://blog.dash.org/dash-complies-with-the-financial-action-task-force-fatf-guidelines-including-the-travel-rule-a4c658efc89d

Bittrex is delisting Dash for other reasons.
This is interesting, what's the general consensus on the reason it was removed?

So you claim Dash is useless or unaware that Dash is a copy of Litecoin (itself a copy)

I'm super bullish right now, look how well it is reaccumulating at $90+. Someone really wants in on this project, I wonder what the rush is about?  DASH is done with lower targets, cast your eyes upward now, sky's the limit. Smiley

Interesting that with Bitcoin at $40,600 Dash has absolutely no problem accumulating at $90+

Also interesting that certain people like toknormal have these strong mood swings, where they see $104 as a good bullish sign and a few weeks later see $85 as the end of the world and blame it all on masternodes.
Not even having the ability in themselves to wish people a Happy New Year, 1st of January 2021, just going straight to posting fud and negativity 1st of January 2021, which they later delete or which got deleted.

It just shows that certain people are just not cut out for crypto, they are lacking patience and they get easily emotional. I have a lot of ignored people on my list these days, i just hope my ignore list can handle them all.
Ranging from Angry Bird, to tokabnormalmoody, to robertotroll, to The Russian Troll Twins (Dahaa & Alexey45), to Trash, to ihavesoldmydashbutstillcantstoptrollingafbitcoins.

Theymos was wrong about this Dash ANN being a toxic place. It is not places that are toxic, it is people posting toxic posts that are toxic.
Luckily we have the ignore button for those people.

Lets take a look at the Bitcoin price :

Source : tradingview.com

RSI at 87.51 : a clear signal of an overbought condition, but also a signal that could grow stronger. I suspect to see that RSI climb a little higher, but not by very much. Max 96.

Lets take a look at the Dash price

Dash price almost boringly stable. Accumulation, while moving sideways. For awhile now. Chart still showing positive momentum on the MACD.

Lets take a look at how the Altcoins are doing today on this Bitcoin bullrun :

Not that many Altcoins in the green today, not surprising with Bitcoin price risen to $41,500 today (+8%)
53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dash says they are not a privacycoin on: January 08, 2021, 03:56:00 AM
So Dash core group claims that Dash is pseudonymous? I consider it as an attempt to avoid Dash delisting only.

There is no claiming here, there are just facts.
Some people just seems to not understand Dash optional privacy feature or seems to not understand Dash blockchain. Or both.
Hopefully they understand it now.

Facts :

Dash, just like Bitcoin has public transactions by default (pseudonymous transactions)
Dash, just like Bitcoin has an open, public blockchain where transactions, amounts, senders and receivers are fully visible (pseudonymous)
Dash, just like Bitcoin offers optional privacy on its transactions, through a form of CoinJoin mixing (thereby creating additional privacy)
Dash is a fork of Bitcoin

For alk these days, I used to know Dash as a privacy coin and one of the competitor of Monero although I never have used none of them. How Dash team now have changed their opinion?
Dash has both private tx option and public tx option or only private tx like Monero?

Dash, just like Bitcoin has public transactions by default
Dash, just like Bitcoin has an open, public blockchain where transactions, amounts, senders and receivers are fully visible
Dash, just like Bitcoin offers optional privacy on its transactions through a form of CoinJoin mixing*
Dash is a fork of Bitcoin

Dash is as much a privacy coin as Bitcoin
If you think Bitcoin is not a privacy coin, then that counts for Dash as well

It is better to refuse to buy DASH, it has already been excluded from a couple of exchanges, and I think that soon it will be removed from others, and the price will fall.
Monero is starting to delist, states want to deprive us of anonymous coins   Lips sealed

Personally i think people should be allowed to buy the coins they want, both anonymous-focused coins (Monero / Zcash) and not-anonymous coins (Bitcoin / Dash).
Recommending people not to buy certain coins, seems highly presumptive and subjective.

Dash is currently traded well over 100 exchanges (with some pretty big exchanges among those), Dash will survive this and will grow stronger from this.
Dash even has some strong partnerships with exchanges and services that utilize its InstantSend & ChainLocks technology : https://www.dash.org/fastpass/

I have no idea how much the Dash price will increase, once Dash gets bullish in its Dash price against btc.
But i do think that will lead to a dramatic increase in Dash price against fiat, once that starts happening.
With a lot of extreme Dash price volatility and explosive Dash price growth, carried over from month to month.

It will be an amazing time.

I obviously think like you, but I hope that everything we know about Dash doesn't cloud our eyes.

I wish you a good 2021, and congratulations on your latest acquisition, I think you were successful.

Thank you, same to you.

Edit :

Dash currently at $105 DASH-USD / 0.002768 DASH-BTC / Marketcap 1.04 Billion $
Change USD/24 Hrs : +13,01% / Change BTC/24 Hrs : +4.08%

Bitcoin currently at $38,000 / Marketcap 708 Billion $
Change USD/24 Hrs : +8,60%

58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: When Alt Season Thread on: January 07, 2021, 09:47:04 AM
I think a lot of Altcoins eventhough increasingly profiting from the Bitcoin price rise are still severly surpressed against btc value. They are basically at the bottom there and i do not see Altcoin Season happening, untill this starts changing for most of these Altcoins. In order to get this change to occur, i think Bitcoin price need to have a considerable correction (blow-off top, followed by a long period of finding the bottom, reconfirming the bottom, stabilizing its price). I think this correction will only occur, when Bitcoin reach a higher RSI on the monthly charts, higher then its current RSI 86.26

I suspect RSI to grow max 10 percentage points (86-96), before that Bitcoin price correction / price blow-off top starts materializing on the monthly chart.

Source : tradingview.com

I think that will start a diversification process from Bitcoin whales towards Altcoins, ultimately triggering an Altcoin Season. Current RSI of Bitcoin price is close to previous large corrections,
but is not there yet. The higher that RSI gets, the higher the risk of a severe correction occurring. Always remember with every pump comes a dump and the higher the pump, the higher the dump.
Just looking at the % Down from ATH, for most Altcoins there is still immense potential for explosive price growth :

59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is alt season? What does it entail? on: January 06, 2021, 09:31:02 AM
I don’t understand what an alt season is other than altcoins growing in price. Why do they grow in price? How do people determine whether an alt season has begun?

Source : https://www.blockchaincenter.net/altcoin-season-index/

Bitcoin Season is coming to an end. Now we just have to wait and be patient for Altcoin Season.
Key is being in Altcoins long before that chart actually hits Altcoin Season (to get maximum profit).

It is required since Bittrex needed to follow the rules of SEC. I think it is insightful for them to act one stride ahead before an issue happen. Mysterious coin had been in a tight spot and since SEC had given an illustration of suing XRP.

Following the rules of SEC does not require the delisting of Dash. Otherwise all US exchanges would have delisted Dash by now.
