Is crypto passive income a bubble when more and more exchanges implement staking or locked savings options ? Or is it a sign that crypto passive income is simply expanding ?
On the other hand is the whole crypto market (ICO's, IPO's, DeFi projects, PoW cryptocurrencies, PoS cryptocurrencies) not subject to bubbles, that inflate during bull market and deflate during bear markets ?
What do staking projects sacrifice to receive new coins ?
- short term strategy in favor of long term strategy, as staking requires in most cases to lock those coins for a long period of time. If you have a day-trading mentality then this is obviously not for you.
- server renting costs, particularly with PoW masternodes projects which require a copy of the full blockchain on servers.
- an financial longterm investment on either third party websites (exchanges) with no possession of the private keys or on cold wallets / hardware wallets with full possession of the private keys
What do staking projects offer to receive new coins ?
- full nodes that are online 24/7, particularly with PoW masternodes projects. Creating a strong full nodes network.
- services that simply can't exist without a strong full nodes network, particularly with PoW masternodes projects that settle transactions (sent, receive , spend) within a few seconds and offering optional
privacy on transactions.
- with Dash in particular, the network gets protected against 51% attacks through ChainLocks. Making the Dash PoW network more secure then other PoW networks like Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum etc.

We can't help it that your main developer lost interest in his Dashcoin (DSH) project and sold his Github access to us, ariel. Launched a DASH masternode today... hopefully the first of many. We'll see how this all goes.

Just a general note to all masternode operators : if you are using a Ledger hardware wallet address to receive your masternode rewards directly on, then make sure you are using DMT (Dash Masternode Tool) and not Ledger Live to control that Ledger hardware wallet receiving address. Ledger Live does not support masternode reward transactions and gives you an error, when trying to sent a masternode reward amount out. Look at DASH markets at Binance and you will see that whole sum of coins is about 8000-10000 coins.I didnt see any change on it since Binance offered locked savings for DASH.There is not at one single evidence that Binance savings attracked enough DASH to establish 400 masternodes. Not even close. These are all the Dash markets on Binance, please tell me where you only see 8,000-10,000 Dash ? First pair is 8,57M USDT, which is about 94,000 Dash. Second pair is $85,479 BUSD, which is about 939 Dash. 94,000 Dash + 939 Dash + 1012 Dash + 316 Dash + 256 Dash = 96,523 Dash.  Source : Binance Also total number of Dash on Binance can not be calculated by simply looking at Dash daily traded volume on Binance. Exchanges will have a far larger supply of Dash stored in cold storage. You will need to know Binance cold wallet Dash addresses to correctly calculate the total number of Dash stored on Binance. I don't think that information is publicly out there. Not to mention that locked savings Dash amounts get removed from users spot accounts and moved to who knows where. |

This is a not-moderated sub forum of Bitcointalk. The only people that can 'mute you' are the Bitcointalk forum moderators, for violating one of their overall forum rules. This has nothing to do with me. I never had any moderator position anywhere, nor would i ever want one. Also i don't have a habit of reporting users to moderators, i rather just click the ignore button. But seriously I think one of the main problems is that too many people focus on making fast money and looking at only the short term. Dash's fundamentals are the best
since ever before. It may never return to the #3 spot but obviously it's more useful now then during the ATH, the usage (and volume differential from 2017-2020 show it).
Regardless of how good they can provide a service they must earn people trust again and I don't think arguing or constantly bashing XMR and Bitcoin helps. I agree. Dash needs to focus on getting Dash Platform on Testnet and then on Mainnet, so Dash can develop more use cases and earn back some of that trust we lost. We need to focus less on competing crypto projects and focus more on developing our Dash eco system and creating Dash Dapps. Of course keeping an eye on competing crypto projects and see what they are doing, can be smart too. It could give Dash developers new ideas for Dash. |

Im looking at the charts and seeing a crash almost every day. That is disappointing to read. Dash Core Group does not engage nor should engage in market making. That is impossible in these free unregulated crypto markets anyways. The long bear market is not Dash Core Group fault. All altcoins were hit pretty much the same way (80-95% down from ATH), during the same time period (2018-2020). Some Altcoins have started to recover early, while others will fully recover later (each cryptocurrency has its own long term down and up trend cycle to fully process after all) and some cryptocurrencies never really entered a bear market to begin with (Tezos / Chainlink). This has more to do with Altcoins getting dumped for Bitcoin because of its halving event in May 2020, and it has more likely to do with Altcoins getting in a situation at the end of its bull market that they were simply overpriced. I suspect that will not last as Ethereum network is getting way too congested to handle all that transaction load and its driving its gas fees to insanely high levels. So the investors attention at some point will flow to other cryptocurrencies. |
