Alberto, what is your plan, any timeline? Do you need help with that? Let me know, maybe we could work together on your software.
42  Other / Archival / Re: [ANN] [banned mixer] - CoinJoin Crypto Mixer | Your Anonymity Is Our Priority! on: May 01, 2023, 03:41:00 PM
BTW, question not really related to the one particular service - why we cannot see the source code of the service?
Bro, you are kidding, right?  Grin

No, why? Does Trezor wallets are less secure because software sources are available? Does SHA algorithms are less reliable because they are known? You overestimate things just because you do not know how they work. Everyone knows how cars are build, but still some do it better.

The problem is not in the fact HOW some things work, but WHAT is input and what is output. I do not expect to know every address managed by mixer, but to know how coins are selected, like for example - 50% coins 1 month older, 25% coins 1 week older and 25% coins which will come to mixer until the first output transaction is send. But first of all I would like to know what exactly is tagged with a Unicode: inputs only? Inputs and outputs? I have a feeling that it works almost like a User ID, so mixer has the whole history of user's actions.

Really, it is not about stealing know-how, as you must enough resources to run service like that and average person cannot do that.
43  Other / Archival / Re: [ANN] [banned mixer] | Best Bitcoin Mixer | Low fees | Fully automated on: April 29, 2023, 07:47:21 PM
How does that work, if the input is higher than YoMixe's balance coin, or does it work on a versatile algorithm? Just read my question as a common user if it is a stupid one, considering I'm not tech-savvy on that part.  Tongue

Ponzi? Grin
Does Yomix use the same rule as (in)famous Chipmixer that coins received are 'older' than coins sent?

This means that if the mixer take a commission from 1% to 3%, then you will get a commission from 1% to 1.5%, according to the commission that will be deducted in each transaction.

I think you wanted to write: 0.5% - 1.5%
44  Economy / Collectibles / Re: yogg sweeping again - Playtoshi edition on: April 29, 2023, 08:20:32 AM
A "fun" sidenote, even with the total amount of money swept by yugg, my guess is the value of his brand name was well over what he got out so far. Not an expert on such a valuation, just a gut-feeling.

That's a negative side effect of working as hobbyist. If it were a legal entity, it would be easier to evaluate the value of the whole business - and of course it would be easier to transfer it to someone else. Otherwise all he had was a 'reputation' of nice cold cards producer. And it seems it was not enough to pay his gambling debts, or whatever was the cause. Having everything formalized, he would know (or even ask for independent evaluation) how much the whole business is worth.

It's the first time I have heard someone say martingale to be profitable. It's definitely martingale in the above post but it's surely not profitable over long term.
In the long run the losses turn out to be greater than the profits which is why it's not profitable over the long term.
It's easy for beginners to use but they should avoid using it consecutively to avoid losses.

It depends upon difference experiences from the gambler who play martingale. Sometime the gamblers keep on playing with martingale and keep on wining and thinks that this is the best winning strategy in gambling.
In freebitco you can use Auto bet and apply this strategy , and you may start wiing few of the games. But one day will come, when this strategy will fail and you will lose all your balance.

I would like to defend that strategy (a little). It would be great to be able to export rolls history - unfortunately we do not have that option. But having - let's say - half a million rolls or sth like that, and knowing that you bet Hi or Low consecutively, you may look for the longest series to evaluate the pessimistic scenario. Of course it is just a pure statistic, as just next second you may roll serie twice as long as you had in the past. But, statistically, it does not look so bad if you are not too greedy. And I talk about scenario when you have bankroll like 0.02 but play with bets 0.0000002 and 110% increase on lose. That way of course all takes longer, but also the are bigger chances you survive longer.

Yes, yes, I know, each roll is independent, past rolls have no impact on the future ones etc - what I wanted to say is playing quite low bets, you increase your chances.

UniJoin and YoMix have very similar UI, wizard, the whole process is almost identical. Are both services/companies related or do they use the same source code?

BTW, question not really related to the one particular service - why we cannot see the source code of the service? I guess to run the service like that the main problem is not to have an algorithm or sth like that, as I do not thing there are some complicated patents behind, but to have enough coins to be able to run process fluently.

48  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Downloading the blockchain over public WiFi on: April 27, 2023, 02:06:29 PM
I have a mixed feelings in general, as I think you may abuse terms of use or causing problems as other users may be affected by heavy use of bandwidth, or depending on location owner may have a limited transfer connection, but it is a different problem.
What is the purpose of that test? If you have slow connection it is obvious the download take a lot of time and slow cpu or slow hdd are no bottlenecks in that case.
Talking about being "digital nomad" - I think it would have more sense to keep your own copy of blocks & indexes somewhere on pendrive, or if you really really must start from 0, to have a trusted source for predownloaded blocks (like for example http://blockdata.loyce.club *)

*) I do not guarantee the files are OK, ask him ;^)

Multiply BTC bonus has 25× wagering requirement on the bonus amount. And the max wager count is 10% of the bonus amount on each bet. I claim the bonus when it reach at a reasonable amount. Then I play the multiply BTC game normally to make some profit. I use wagering methods to complete the remaining wager requirement if I can make a good profit after taking the bonus. In that case, my base bet is 10% of the initial bonus and I use auto betting mode on 1.01× payout. Currently I have 0.00013+ BTC as eligible bonus amount.

Thanks. The question is what "a reasonable amount" is. I know the rule of limited max bet might by annoying, but ok. The added value is always something extra that protects you before you lose everything after the serie of bad bets, but probably impatience is the worst you may do. I personally prefer to claim bonuses as soon as they become available, to be able to finish them earlier with my comfortable base bets.
50  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Can I run MyNode on windows? on: April 27, 2023, 09:13:54 AM
Now, the link i posted before has a disk that's to small for the full blockchain, but it has an x86_64 architecture. If you find one with an 1Tb disk, you're golden... It might cost you 10 or 20 bucks more, but you'll have a silent, small, reasonably power efficient device that should be very easy to slap the disk image provided by mynode onto by just following their walktroughs (disclaimer: i don't run mynode, so i have not tested this claim!!!)

I was a fan of Intel's NUC, I really appreciated them as well-build and reliable computer. It is still possible to find a good deal on computer with 512SSD or 1T, and that would be more than enough for node + electrum server etc. I do not know how it is with others ("noname?") solutions. On the other hand You may try the proposed Fujitsu and then just replace SSD (if it does not double the cost).
But for sure it is better to stay in well supported x86_64 architecture. The ideas like "hey, let's try a new mac mini with M2" would cause probably a lot of unnecessary problems.
51  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Electrs on windows on: April 26, 2023, 10:51:55 AM
It may worth mentioning that both those tutorials are made for local use (server and Electrum on same computer).
So for accessing it from mobile that may need a little more configuration.

As it seems to be a private/home solution, testing connection in the same network should give the answer if all is configured properly.
For access from outside, probably router configuration should be checked, if static ip is used (or dynamic dns solution). Or server should be configured to use TOR. Anyway - it means computer must be switched on the whole time. I think sooner or later OP will come to the conclusion that a separate machine for that purpose is a better solution (PI or NUC etc).

53  Economy / Goods / Re: New simple book about Bitcoin, by BBCD Satoshi on: April 25, 2023, 02:18:15 PM
Subjects are then looked at including:
Technical analysis, graphs, statistics, log/logarithmic view, metrics, theories, strategy, being a HODLer, question of money, risk management and importantly the opposite, why you shouldn't invest in Bitcoin.
MACD (Moving Average Convergence/Divergence), RSI (Relative Strength Index) and Fibonacci Levels (Fibs).

Bitcoin-specific niche statistics and models are looked at including:
The 200-Week Moving Average Heatmap, The Puell Multiple, Stock-to-Flow Model, Bitcoin Logarithmic Growth Curves, Long-Term Power-Law Corridor of Growth (Power Law), Clarke Moody’s Dashboard and the Bitcoin Halving Countdown.

The book is not about "Bitcoin" but about trading and speculation. It's like coming to a jewellers forum where they discuss different smelting methods and offer them a pamphlet why investing in bullion coins makes sense for their future fortune.
In other words, you sell wishful thinking.

Anyway according to the title the book has been written by Satoshi.

Not Satoshi but "BBCD Satoshi". It is like "Bitcoin" and "Bitcoin Cash" or "Bitcoin Gold".
54  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Generating reception address without opening wallet on: April 25, 2023, 12:20:19 PM
Yes, you may open the wallet file in any text editor (if wallet is not encrypted). Wallet contains data in JSON form which is human-readable, you may easily find section "addresses":
Code:
"addresses": {
        "change": [
            "your change addresses here",
        ],
        "receiving": [
            "your addresses here",
        ]
    },

If you do not want to reuse any address, you should check in "addr_history" section if given address has any children (inputs)

How do you use Multiply BTC bonus? (The one where they double the amount but you must wager that amount x times).
What is your strategy? Do you try to launch bonus as soon as it appears, to have lower wagering limit, or do you wait longer to have a bigger base, in case of many lost bets?
I usually use the martingale strategy to play on multiply btc because that's the only strategy that I know, sometimes you really have to need big money to bet there if you use this strategy even though they use a probably fair system but it's hard to get a win there, so from that every now and then I only play when there is free btc that I get there never deposit using btc from the wallet.

I think to get bitcoin from fteebitcoin just use the investment way to buy FUN and get WOF free spins and don't try to play multiply btc there if you don't want to lose a lot of money, I always collect free btc and I play it by betting football including profits so VIP members get profits from btc free spins WOF. to be honest I prefer to withdraw money from there than put money and spend it on multiply btc.

I understand your point, that's the global strategy, my question was about something different. After playing MultiplyBTC they give you a possibility to launch bonus, where they double the amount allowed, but the total is not released until you wager a given amount. The trick is that if you launch bonus for a small amount, it is easier to fulfil wagering requirement, but bad luck may easily exhaust "the pool" you have and at the end you have nothing (and you lost your 1/2 of the pool). On the other hand, if you do not request to execute bonus, the amount allowed will be much higher (both their and your part), so there is a bigger chance you will "survive" until the end of required wagering - but required wagering could be really huge.

57  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum 4.4 Relased on: April 24, 2023, 07:43:48 AM
but when I prepare transaction RBF is enabled and I have no idea how to change it.
I guess that's part of the new Full RBF?

Maybe. Now it is disabled "by design": https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum/commit/e1dc7d1e6fb2fc5b88195b62cbe1613b252db388
They say "Note: RBF remains disabled for channel funding transactions." so it is not like RBF disappears completely, they just force you to use it.
Which is IMHO really a step back, decisions/simplifications like that make Electrum another dumb-wallet, while it has reputation of the great configurable tool which allows you to do both simple AND more complicated transactions if you need.

58  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum 4.4 Relased on: April 24, 2023, 07:08:27 AM
The  wallet's "Preferences"  have missed "Transactions" tab, so plenty of useful features like "Advanced preview ",  "Spend only confirmed coins" and so on are missing.
Those settings are moved to the settings icon in "New Transaction" window. (After clicking "Pay..." in the 'Send' tab)
For "Advanced Preview", just click 'Preview' instead of 'OK'.
I was searching for this yesterday, and couldn't find it. So thanks Smiley I didn't try that icon because I instantly clicked Preview.

One thing which is missing (or I cannot find it) is RBF switch. In the previous version I set switched off RBF, in config file (json) I see
Code:
"use_rbf": false
but when I prepare transaction RBF is enabled and I have no idea how to change it.
59  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum 4.4 Relased on: April 23, 2023, 04:41:29 PM
What's the hell with this release? The  wallet's "Preferences"  have missed "Transactions" tab, so plenty of useful features like "Advanced preview ",  "Spend only confirmed coins" and so on are missing.

One change which caused my confusion was removal of 'Spend from' option, now we have 'Add to coin control'. I think such renaming is really weird, especially after years the previous names were used. I guess many guides must be rewritten now.

A very good (useful) proposal. Count me in.
I think technically it would not be much more complicated than read/unread marker.
