41  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Should Giga be tagged as a scammer? on: August 24, 2013, 03:25:39 AM
If I have to pay a lawyer anyway, I'll pay him to exact justice instead than to jump in your hoops.

Your logic makes no sense. Some of the most prolific posters in this thread have claimed and have been paid. You should learn from their example.

Anybody who has taken the time to work with me has been compensated. Your stubbornness only hurts you.

+1. gigavps is and always has been extremely upfront and honest. I don't really see the problem you have since the original contracts were for far less mh/s per bond and now they pay even more. "Claiming" is merely acknowledging that glbse is dead and you are going forward.
42  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN]BitQuick.co- Fastest method on the market of converting FIAT <--> BTC!! on: August 24, 2013, 03:13:32 AM
Of course they are doing it on purpose. They are trying to buy coins cheap and hoping for a surge in the price between the order and when they would make a deposit.

The easy fix for this is to charge a fee for every time this happens, or to suspend accounts, but that won't ever happen.

Would you ever consider adding Schools First Federal Credit Union to your list?

I am sorry but, I wouldn't want to waste your time, by having you think that there was a possibility that anybody would ever make a deposit into that credit union.

It simply has too few branches to be considered a viable option. It could be the best credit union, with the friendliest staff, but it doesn't offer what we need....branches.

If you can offer an account at a major bank such as one of the existing ones, or SunTrust or Capital One or something which has thousands of branches, then I would be happy to make adjustments on the website to reflect your bank.

I have had two sellers in the past offer bitcoin at credit unions....they never sold. I hope you understand.

Thanks.

Most credit unions in the USA have agreements, any member of any other credit union can use them just like the home credit union without fees.

It's called shared branching and it makes almost any credit union have branches almost everywhere. For deposits it's dead simple.

47  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do most Bitcoiners seem intelligent? on: August 05, 2013, 08:38:17 PM
What makes it "hard" is the average person can't figure out how to swipe a credit card and use a pin keypad. The can't remember passwords, or even phone numbers anymore because they store them all in their iphones.

The entire planet is going the way of idiocracy.
48  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN]BuyBitcoin.US- Fastest method on the market of converting FIAT <--> BTC!! on: July 30, 2013, 08:32:54 PM
You could have done this without abusing the website. Anyway, lets break it down for you. You're making the situation seem more dangerous than it really is. This post is completely over-sensationalized. The only financial information stored on the server are the account and routing numbers. Even if the server were compromised, BTC could NOT be withdrawn from the escrow accounts. All escrow accounts are stored in cold wallets, private key is not on the server.

You do realize that's all someone needs to go and make up a check and rip everyone off... qchex.com a couple years back was a hot bed for fake checks/demand drafts.

50  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: THE TRUTH: Can someone withdraw fiat money from MTGOX? on: July 17, 2013, 09:51:50 PM
I received a wire from mtgox for a large amount.  Took about 1.5 months, and a couple of support requests, but it finally came in.  They're fixing it, and within the next month or less, it should be back to normal.

I don't think people realize how much volume gox does...  ANY exchange with similar volume will/have run into these issues.

-EP

I cashed out $130,000 from my brokerage account last month. wire transfer was 1 minute after I called. I guarantee you my brokerage exchange account does a million time the volume gox does.

Forget Batch #3! When are they sending the CHIPS?  Roll Eyes

after a well deserved break and Chinese new year.

It's not like everyone didn't try and warn all the batch 3 people that they wouldn't ROI.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=155345.msg1649240#msg1649240

Thing is I was good with first delivery date (which was beginning of May). If I had Avalon on that time I would make ROI easy. With all those delays Im not sure.
Gamble on batch#3 WAS how much hashrate jumps (BFL, AM) in May, and WASNT how much delayed deliver will be.
Thats why I think batch#3 deserve partial refund, as price was based on 1 Month ROI.

Everyone would be happy if Avalon had shipped when they said and not sat on the units for themselves.
53  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon Batch #3 & More on: July 16, 2013, 06:24:16 PM
I am in a difficult situation...

A. I can't get a refund, because all Avalon's were bought in a group buy and some people paid 2x what we originally paid to take over shares. These people would be pretty mad if I all the sudden got a refund and they lost half their money.

B. I have paid 3 months rent and bills now at the commercial space where I have planned to host the equipment.

I hope Avalon is happy with themselves, this has been one of the worst business decisions ever for me to decide to host Avalons, due to Avalon's delays. They certainly owe it to their batch 3 customers- I hope they give back somehow, but I am doubtful that they will. Otherwise, Avalon is no different from BFL, and I will never forget about this or buy an Avalon product ever again.

Avalon got greedy and decided to jack the prices up to $10k a machine due to how much money they were making. But, since we get them 3 months late this price is unacceptable now, I don't think Avalon would pay this price themselves. I hope that Avalon and company still have a heart and realize that they screwed batch 3 customers (but again, I am doubtful we will see any recourse).

It's not like everyone didn't try and warn all the batch 3 people that they wouldn't ROI.

Double the price is reasonable, 4+ times the "price" with another indefinite wait is absurd. Especially considering the hiccups and the delays and the general stonewalling of the people ( like me ) who ordered batch1 and batch 2 and still have nothing but a few emails and promises of "its shipped".

If you want to sell them for 100btc and you have them in stock and are shipping the next day and guarantee delivery in a week, yeah maybe the price works for the profiteers.

If you want 100 btc and you jerk everyone around like the last 2 orders, ignore the users asking for very little information and don't maintain a delivery schedule, it not going to happen. People are going to go to BFL, get their SC or minirig in the same time frame and have smaller more efficient devices.

Avalon has a niche, exploit it a little, don't go raping people.

The only thing batch3 people can hope is that BTC/$ value skyrockets.
54  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: U.S. bank closing all of my deposit accounts because of bitcoins on: July 16, 2013, 03:19:59 PM
The account didn't get closed because of bitcoins. It got closed because of your usage. Having to file 3-4 SAR a day tends to make banks grumpy. Even 1-2 a month is a red flag. Unless you have a HUGE business account and keep enough money in there for it to be worth it to them to keep a staffer on hand to file them all.

You can thank your government and the ridiculous laws it passed. Now, not only can you not use a bank account in the US, but no foreign bank will touch you either, for the same reason.

56  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: July 15, 2013, 09:11:32 PM

I get a REALLY large number of invalid shares with my Avalon.

I'm not sure whats going on. It's not consistent.

One day I'll be mining and I'll get 99+% valid shares and the next day or two it will only be 88% valid shares.

I've tried mining on Ozcoin and 50btc and it seems to be bad on both.

I don't think it is my network because my jalapenos only get <1% invalid shares.

I'm using the dynamically adjusting frequency and it usually settle at about 352 MHz or so and 82 GH/s on average. Of course, according to the pool, I'm only getting 70 GH/s or so due to all the invalid shares.

I have an AC feeding directly into the intake on the Avalon and no temperature gets above 48 or 49 or so (very rarely 50).

What could be wrong?

This is normal on stratum. Every time the block changes, you get invalids. Some days burn more blocks than others.

59  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: July 10, 2013, 05:39:56 PM
For me cgminer doesn't start when I try and add commands. Commands I have tried:

--avalon-auto
--avalon-freq
--avalon-fan

cgminer only seems to work with the default --quiet command

any ideas?

I use this

Paste it in the bottom options box.

--avalon-auto --avalon-freq 300-375 --avalon-options 115200:24:10:36:355

use a newer firmware from here http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer/avalon/
60  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: July 10, 2013, 03:33:59 PM
Just curious. Does anyone successfully mine on p2pool with his avalon?

I tried the newest firmware and the newest p2pool, but failed totally. Searched but no affirmatory.

The http://p2pool.info/ active user list shows few in range of 66GH/s(stock 3-module)  to 112GH/s(overclocked 4-module).

it doesn't work, well. still  20% DOA.

Even with tweaking timeout to return work quicker with cgminer and stratum tweaks. The new protocol change may make it slightly better.

Also you need ridiculous CPU power to handle 1 avalon.
