41  Other / Meta / Re: question on posting pictures on: May 07, 2024, 06:28:35 PM
It seems I can no longer post pictures I have in my imgur account.  What is the best way to post pictures these days ?

Have you been inactive for that long whereby you never noticed that imgur is no longer supported to be used on this forum again, this has been discovered several times since last year, you can make use of talkimg for your image hosting site now hence, and there have been other threads that have been created in fixing up those that have already past imgur posts with their images to convert them in other to be displayed.
42  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which device do you prefer for gambling ? on: May 07, 2024, 05:58:27 PM
yes, I have exactly the same approach. Also, if we are talking about sports betting, then I use a PC more often since it is more a matter of habit. This way you can more carefully study all the events that are included in the forecast. And for games, a phone is ideal, today they absolutely 100% optimized for this
Works the same thing for me.

I usually use my desktop PC for everything that I do related to gambling. Sometimes, I'd use smaller devices when I am away from home and that's very handy.

But that only happens if I am on the go and when I am staying at home, no doubt that I'm using my PC for it because I find it to be more comfy than using the other devices that I have.

Then i like the idea that we all make use of more than one device in gambling, just as to make it easy and satisfying for us regardless of where we are, we can easily make use of any available device to gamble, which also means that we will have full access to gambling at our own will anything we wanted to, most times, we can make use of a specific device in gambling depending on the game we are playing and how we most preferred the view on the device we uses, this makes many of us have this decision on having alternative log in device for gambling.

44  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What will you do if you find yourself in a similar situation like this? on: May 07, 2024, 04:10:45 PM
I don't know if i should even blame the father along the way because he would have known his son attitude before handling over the money to him in his possession, there are things in which before we took action for, we would have known the kind of person we are dealing with, and in this condition, this was his son we are talking about, though the son have also disappointed himself and i don't think he will ever get that kind of trust again to handle anything that has to do with money.
45  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: OKX has stopped its p2p service for Nigerian customers on: May 06, 2024, 05:32:40 PM
If the worst happened, then everyone will then migrate to the use of a decentralized exchange for their usual daily trades where they will not have to undergo any kyc challenge with the exchange or the government regulation for policies and regulations, this is my opinion anyway, a suggestion we may all want to go for after the realization of all that is happening with the government and the crypto networks.
46  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Most P2P occured on WhatsApp, Telegram and everywhere on the streets on: May 06, 2024, 04:33:38 PM
Crypto: Peer-to-peer trading is worth $500bn in Nigeria – Cryptocurrency expert

The CEO of one of NoOnes who was the former CEO of Paxful, Ray Youssef said so. That crypto trading in Nigeria is 10x more than what is reported which are on centralized exchanges. That most crypto trading takes place on WhatsApp, Telegram, coffee shops and everywhere on the streets.

Additional to this, government should realized that the rising to the increasing exchange rate of naira to dollar is because of the too much dependance of the country's economy on foreign affairs, most of the Nigerians students prefers to travel abroad for education, the Nigerian government itself depends on international medical supports for medicines and other equipment in which they can survived without the use of dollar exchange rate, trading or the crypto platforms aren't the reason to the increasing rate of exchange of naira to dollar, instead the poor economy and high dependencies on international importations.
47  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Understanding the Impact of Social Media in Gambling. on: May 04, 2024, 07:59:31 PM
Social media is an avenue whereby we get used to every information's needed to learn about in gambling, its one of the fastest means to disseminate these information, learn about gambling and also make use of the platform to promote what has been established, social media is a vital aspect of the gambling section in which many of them set target on because almost everyone gambling make use of the social media as long as they are online, its a place to get across and connect to the whole world while at the comfort of your home.
48  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Double your money and quite on: May 04, 2024, 04:36:47 PM
Was it that easy for one to just double his money and then quit gambling, this is one of the worst decision someone can ever accept to take as an offer, when you have your money doubled, all that will come to your mind is to continue with gambling and nothing more, we have the right to choose on what ground or purpose are we going to use in staging our plan for gambling on whether to quit for the day or continue with the fun.
49  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling addiction causes loss on: May 03, 2024, 04:04:01 PM
If you're a gambling addicted user then it will be hard for you to make a savings from the ways you have been gambling because things will always be more attractive to you in gambling like to always have a continued process in gambling not minding on how it has cost you or the implication on the damage it could cause after which you're left with nothing more after gambling.
50  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for May on: May 03, 2024, 03:37:04 PM
The month of May might have started bearish but that doesn't mean its the same way its going to end like that, just as we already have now, we are seeing the market moving ahead more bullish and we already achieved the $62,000 market price today with bitcoin and we are still hoping to see more of bull the more as the market continues, there will be a time that there will be more continuous bull run on a stretch without any resistance against it, so i will go for being more bullish all through this month.
51  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: OKX has stopped its p2p service for Nigerian customers on: May 03, 2024, 01:38:06 PM
If you are an OKX user here, you must have found out by now that you can no longer trade crypto for Naira in that platform. E be like say our government don secretly warn this platform and told them to stop offering trading in Naira for Nigerians. First it was Binance, now it is OKX, i dey believe say very soon trading in Naira in centralized exchanges no go dey possible again.

E be like say the fight against crypto by our government no go stop anytime soon, so e better make everybody begin protect themselves and their funds, they might start blocking bank accounts at the slightest suspicion of any involvement in crypto transactions.

I don't know why the government continue to see the wrong vision concerning the win of the naira currency with dollar gaining momentum steadily, this is not about the crypto exchanges, they are not the ones causing naira devaluation against dollars, the country economy is bad and if nothing is done to tackle on this, things will always remain the way they have been, stopping the use of p2p will not be the end of the use of USD in Nigeria, there are many dependencies in the economy whereby we make use of the foreign exchange in achieving them, including the ones being under the control of the government, they also have to use dollar in some certain extent.
52  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you gamble because you don't have sufficient money? on: May 01, 2024, 06:23:56 PM
I will never make a suggestion to a gambler to gambles when he is financially incapacitated, because even if he manage to look for little amount and use for gambling, there is no hope or certainty for him to win, so I don't see the essence why he should not rather uses the money and feed himself or for other purpose and wait till he is being able to afford having enough to be used for gambling purpose, we shouldn't forces ourselves to gambling, it has to be done under free and convenient atmosphere suitable for us and not for us to gamble and leave other things to be done undone and we are also affected.
53  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The madness of gambling addicts. on: May 01, 2024, 05:45:56 PM
There are usually underlying issues with gamblers, and the gambling casinos simply offer a way out of their troubles.

It's a temporary fix to a more long term issue. And the thing is that gambling can of course make these initial troubles even larger.

The key thing is to remember to keep things under control, because you might end up in a worse position trying to fix your issues.

It is similar with any other addiction, like alcohol for example.
I was looking out for the temporal solution provided by the gambling platform as you’ve referred but, you apparently didn’t suggest any. I don’t think any gambling platform would suggest anything aside from its T&C. It’s T&C like,

Not having to play repeated games,
a legal registration age grade and
Possibly, having minimum and maximum stakes per game

Is where they often draw the line and at times, it helps gamblers. Especially those who gamble large amounts but, these are gamblers who don’t really care much about the losses.

For most, you just ensure your not gambling above your limits and not always.

As you have said, the casinos will not be found responsible for the way we gambles or all the challenges we face at the cause, all they are after is on our strict compliance on their terms and conditions, they are there to make their money and could encourage any means to see that gamblers are involved in the use of their platform all the time, regardless of how it may have cost them, gamblers are the ones that should be responsible for themselves on how they gambles, plan ahead for themselves and also make the right decision of what is good for them.
54  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do not get discouraged by the current price of Bitcoin on: May 01, 2024, 04:55:21 PM
I think people shouldn't get discourage by that, though I didn't experience other halvings cause I had zero knowledge about Bitcoin then but i think something similar have occurred before in one of the previous halving where Bitcoin price didn't go up as expected but later traced back and went up after some period, a lot of people might begin to panic and sell their coins but I still see this an opportunity to buy more Bitcoin and for those who are not opportuned to do so, holding is the best option, please correct me if you think am wrong

Getting discouraged? only the newbies just joining may have a second thoughts about bitcoin market price, we have been into this for a while now, last year when Bitcoin go dip as far as $16,000 and people never loose hope, this is just a mere warming up, to create an avenue for those interested on making an investment, they could rather see this as an entry point for them to invest and wait till the same opportunity lands for more bull, what we are seeing is only preparing us for the expectations ahead, the earlier the better we understand that all we need is to hold now.
55  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Workers Salary Increases, Inflation at Upper Edge on: May 01, 2024, 11:58:00 AM
Today which is the first day in May to mark the annual celebration of the Workers Day in Nigeria, the president offers to increase the workers salary to all the government employer citizens in the event to mark the workers day celebration.

Quote
The Federal Government on Tuesday approved 25% and 35% salary increase for civil servants across various consolidated salary structures. https://punchng.com/fg-approves-salary-raise-for-civil-servants/

If we are to go into a quick recap on the current economic situations of the country as at today, we have the following facts to deduce out.

1. Scarcity of fuel and inflation on the current price to about #1,000 to #1,200 base on location.
2. Incessant increase on market price for products and commodities.

All these are pointing at the instability of the current state of the country economy as inflation has become the order of the day.

A. Do you think the increase in salary structure of all government workers will not lead to more higher inflation level than we already had.

B.. If inflation should persist and we have low GDP from the previous record, we should then expect naira devaluation against dollar the more, some were already speculating $1=#2,000 soon.

57  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Making the Most of $100 bankroll on: April 30, 2024, 05:54:12 PM
I have a friend who is new to sports betting and he asks -
If his bankroll is $100 and he has been told not to use more than 5% of his bankroll per bet, what strategy should he use on this type of bankroll? His question is should he place $5 each on 20 different bets? Or is there a better approach that can be suggested?

The only information we are having about this guy is on how he was able to manage to have a bankroll deposit of $100 but we are not sure of how stable his financial source can be, maybe if he can often generate or manage to have more within a particular time space or not, so this is more of the gambler being able to understand himself, plan his gambling budget after considering his financial income level and what he could afford to have or use as bankroll
58  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling addiction does more harm than mere financial loss on: April 30, 2024, 05:04:09 PM
If someone is found under this category of gambling addiction, such gambler will not only losses money, their integrity and future ambition may be at stake because they may obviously mismanaged funds with them for gambling purpose leaving other aspect of their life unplanned for against the future, people around them could hardly get tier attention or enjoy any emotional or financial benefits from them because they are being addicted.
59  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do increased Bitcoin fees benefit anyone else except miners? on: April 30, 2024, 04:29:57 PM
My question is who do these high fees benefit?

Miners and nothing more, they are the direct beneficiary of the increasing nature of the transaction fee, but we must not forget that this experience too is not a long time effect, it only happened occasionally and there are times the same miners looses as they sometimes receives half the reward of their mining when the hash rate is fluctuated on the other side effect, aside the transaction fee charges they receives, base on how congested the network is.
60  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Samurai Wallet co-founder pleaded not guilty, released on $1m bond on: April 30, 2024, 02:00:29 PM
The condition of his bail include:
(1) prevented from engaging in “any cryptocurrency transactions, directly or indirectly,” without prior approval from the court.
(2) travel restricted to parts of New York and Pennsylvania when not confined to his home.

Do we actually think this are going to remain as it has been said or not.

The first condition of his bail seems insane, he is restricted from engaging in any cryptocurrency transactions, even indirectly. The US government will be like a hawk at the moment keeping an eye on his cryptocurrency assets.

What if someone else close to him have access to is account or wallet and can initiate any form of transaction on his behalf and then no one knows.

It's a sad day, the US is not a safe place for cryptocurrency holders.

Am not supporting his act neither against it to an extent, but this is the advise i have, if you're into crypto, then try as much as possible to find yourself being located in a country that permits for free zone crypto, where you will have no government related challenges and regulations concerning your crypto.
