41  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fixed supply doesn't matter (change my mind) on: May 11, 2024, 11:44:49 AM
What do you mean by saying that Tether can infinitely inflate Bitcoin's price? We trade different pairs of Bitcoin, we can trade Bitcoin to USD, Bitcoin to USDT, Bitcoin to USDC, Bitcoin to DAI, Bitcoin to TUSD, Bitcoin to FDUSD, Bitcoin to Euro and etc... How can tether printing money affect Bitcoin's price? It will only affect Bitcoin to USDT pair, not others.

I get your point but the FED and the government should worry more about USDT. I used to think and worry about that a lot too but then I stopped caring for this exact reason. If the owner of the real FIAT doesn't care if somebody somewhere printing fake FIAT, why should I care?
What do you think about Paxos Stablecoins? PYUSD and USDP? BUSD was backed by Paxos if I remember correctly and users successfully managed to claim their dollars one in one.
42  Economy / Gambling / Re: MetaWin.com | The First WEB3 Casino on: May 11, 2024, 09:49:03 AM
High risk, high reward basically. Wish there was some sort of notification board somewhere regarding memecoins with potential.
In the case of memecoins, the risk is higher because they are basically created on meme hype and don't have any other technological benefits.

First cex listing is getting there

Which did you all picked? (for fun)

I was torn between bitget and mexc lol -- pretty much wanted either a neutral leaning choice vs imo the easiest to get in choice. I'm not that familiar with bingx so wasn't able to consider them.

Kucoin or bybit would be the ideal choices though popularity-wise.
I think that Rocky will be listed first on okx.com because okx is one of the most popular exchanges and they also support web3 just like Metawin. I can be wrong but I think they'll choose okx instead of Bybit and others.

Getting listed on a bigger exchange like Binance would be a great achievement which could probably happen in the near future.
Yes, getting listed on Binance would help significantly. Btw Binance has Binance launchpad where people stake BNB or FDUSD and earn rewards. For example, if Metawin will partner with Binance and Binance launch Rocky in their launchpad, people will earn free Rocky by stacking BNB and FDUSD. This can be a good marketing for the project.
43  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: May 10, 2024, 09:43:23 PM
After Real Madrid qualified to the champions league final, and they heard it's Dortmund they will be facing ,I know they will be very happy, because they will think they can just over ride Dortmund and win them without stress, but if they should have this kind of mentality, then they must be joking because Dortmund is more dangerous than PSG and Bayern.Dortmund have a very solid defence, and their defence is even more solid than that of Madrid's own, this will be an advantage to Dortmund. Because they have the ability to defend a  goal till the game ends,While Madrid's defence is not that solid.
Dortmund is not an easy team to deal with. The last time they faced each other was in 2017. There were two matches in 2017 in Champion's League, Real Madrid beat Dortmund in both of them but more previous matches were draw and in 2014 Dortmund beat Real Madrid. I think these stats aren't good indicators today because 7 years have passed and teams look very different with different players but now this is the final, very important match for both teams but more important for Dortmund because Dortmund have only won the Champions League once, in 1997 while Real Madrid won it many times. In 1 June, Dortmund will have to chance it for the second time and for the first time in 21th century. I think they'll be more motivated to win compared to Real Madrid but if coaches favour them, then there is nothing we can do to stop them from winning. I hope the game will be fair and not like we saw it against Bayern Munich. I hope Dortmund wins the UCL.
44  Economy / Gambling / Re: Playgram - The Telegram Casino: Claim your VIP Spins now 💎 on: May 10, 2024, 08:39:35 PM
Welcome to the forum, your name really indicates that this is a telegram casino. You are probably the first crypto casino on Bitcointalk that's licensed by the Government of the Autonomous Island of Anjouan, Union of Comoros. Usually, every casino is licensed by Curacao or Costa Rica. I'm curious about why you decided to use this license.
Btw I wonder why are so many casinos today creating a telegram casino instead of traditional, www casinos? Is this because of marketing or is there any loophole or what is the reason? Telegram casinos are basically not different from web casinos, we just get access to www.something.io via Telegram app.
45  Economy / Economics / Re: Stagnant Salaries vs. Inflationary Savings Tax on: May 10, 2024, 08:04:51 PM
Which of these economic situations would you prefer to find yourself in?

A- Your salary is stagnant but prices fall. Where this happens, your real purchasing power has increased.  It's called constructive deflation. And even if your salary falls, but prices fall faster, you are still ahead.
Psychologically it's a good feeling when you have high purchasing power and it constantly increases because when you are used to spending for example 100$ per month, you feel more powerful when you buy much more with 100$ and when bad times come, you adapt to lower spending more easily.

A is impossible to have in practice. There is no such thing as constructive deflation. Human population is increasing so the money supply increasing as well and increasing the money supply drives the prices higher because the manufacturing can't keep up with the other two. As a result, somebody somewhere has to starve.
A is really impossible to have in practice but it's wrong to say that money gets printed because the human population increases. That's what they taught in universities but in practice, government doesn't print or burn papers because of the population. The human population increases but science develops too and manufacturing manages to keep up with the demand. If there weren't new iPhones, Pixels and Galaxy smartphones every year and instead if we were offered one good smartphone every 4-5 years that would work stable, that would be a better choice but modern capitalism pushes businesses and people to waste things.
46  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Where do whales trade/withdraw money? on: May 10, 2024, 06:43:57 PM
That is an interesting article which is different than usual articles on cointetegraph (with low quality), I like it.
Good point. Btw I like Cointelegraph's graphics, they always attract me.

I'm not sure if you are taking relating to that coin but an exchange doesn't have that right to hold your account for having a large amount, you were verified by the way so they know where to take a lead if something is suspicious but I just think that it's not a good idea to always use centralized exchange for such, it breaks your privacy.
Exchanges don't have the right to freeze your account for no reason but as you know, it happens and it happens quite often. If I had 100 or more Bitcoins, for example, I wouldn't risk depositing them on any centralized exchange because I would be in huge trouble if any of their support or automatic systems banned me. Imagine, holding yourself millions of dollars on exchange and waiting for the moment to get your accidentally banned account unbanned. That's why I asked where whales trade with hundreds and thousands of Bitcoins.

P.S. Thanks everyone, I heard very good answers. Shame on me but I didn't know much about OTC trading until now.
47  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Will always Survive on: May 10, 2024, 05:19:44 PM
Bitcoin is recorded as the first and most well known crypto currency in the world.
You might be surprised but Bitcoin is not the first cryptocurrency, the first cryptocurrency was eCash, created by DigiCash in 1990 but Bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency that had the best start and managed to take over the financial world and move it to another level.

Decentralized Nature: This means that no single entity such as a government or bank has control over it,and this makes it resistant to corruption or interference by any centralized authorities.
Bitcoin is decentralized by nature but it's not resistant to corruption and it's not prone to centralized authorities. In theory, with lots of power and finances, it's possible to gain significant control on Bitcoin.

I don't know if Bitcoin lasts forever but it's definitely going to last a long time.
48  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: May 08, 2024, 08:28:15 PM
I am happy that Dortmund is in the final, they are playing very well this year and I wanted them to win. What really matters now is which team will be the other team.
We watched a 0-0 draw in the first half, I am very curious about which team will take more risks in the rest of the match and which one will win. Real Madrid is playing better so far, but it is not easy to predict which team will score
Dortmund was very lucky against PSG while PSG was very unlucky against them. I have never seen a match like this, I counted that PSG hit the crossbar for 4 or 5 times in last match and if we check some statistics, their total kick on the crossbar in the Champions League this season was up to 14, that's the record, the highest that any team has ever recorded in a single season.

I'm watching Real Madrid vs Bayern right now and you won't believe but Bayern is winning. I don't know how is German El Clasico called but I think we are going to see that in the final, Dortmund vs Bayern. Real Madrid has still 20 minutes left to score at least 1 goal but what if the result remains the same Cheesy Oh, such an exciting and amazing matches we have in this Champion's league, my heart races.

Edit - The moment I clicked on Post button, Alphonso Davies scored in his own net.
49  Economy / Gambling / Re: MetaWin.com | The First WEB3 Casino on: May 08, 2024, 05:10:41 PM
On the other hand, I understand that Metawin is using $ROCKY as a token to give advantages in their casino in a similar way as freebitco.in does with their Fun token?
MetaWin's native token is MWIN which is yet to be launched. ROCKY has been created as fun (named after the dog of MetaWin's owner). It has been created as a meme token but the response from the community is huge. Unfortunate that I missed the earlier announcement, otherwise, it could be a huge ROI if invested.
Memecoins are always a very risky choice, it's totally gamble but now since I know that Metawin owns it, I feel more confident to invest. Not only because I wear signature campaign, no, that doesn't matter, I won't invest for this reason but I really like this casino, promotions are great, their twitter page is very active and if we have a look at their developmental stages, they are doing very well for a new casino.

Btw the all-time low was $ 0.000126, and the all-time high was $ 0.0266, we definitely missed good profits but who knows, the price at the moment is $ 0.0019, it might still not be a bad time to invest because price plays regularly between 0.0007-0.0027.
50  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Will I be easily hacked? on: May 08, 2024, 12:57:07 PM
I have read about Bitcoin storage and it is said that cold storage is the safest because it cannot be hacked since it is not connected to the internet. As a beginner who is yet to buy bitcoin, I would like to own some portions of bitcoin before I will consider to buy a hardware wallet.

I have a brand new phone, if I unbox it and use it to install only my bitcoin wallet without using it to frequent online or click links and neither will I download other apps. Will I still be easily hacked?
You'll be safe, don't download unknown malicious apps and don't click on every popup that you see online to help your device from getting infected, use your smartphone wisely, keep it secure and you'll be safe. I have owned a Bitcoin wallet since 2016 on my PC and Smartphone, both of them are connected to internet and I have had as much as 1 BTC on it for years and I have never been hacked. I don't give you a guarantee that you won't be hacked and you are 100% secure, I am saying that most likely you'll be safe and there is no need to worry. When you use hot wallet, usually, it's advised only to hold as much as you can afford to lose. Consider this and you'll be fine. When you buy an air-gapped hardware wallet, you can securely store more than you can afford to lose but you still have to be very careful with your wallet and how you'll save recovery seed phrases.
51  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you increasing your bitcoin investments because of today halving ? on: May 08, 2024, 09:52:07 AM
Are you increasing your bitcoin investments because of today halving ? For how long do you plan to hold this new investment from here on.
It would be best if you increased Bitcoin investments when there are good moments to buy the Bitcoin. I sold my Bitcoins when the price was around 60K in 2021, then I waited till 2022's winter and bought Bitcoins back when the price was 20K USD and I sold them recently when the price reached ATH but to be more specific, I sold them at 67K. Right now I don't own Bitcoin or any currency, I only own cash and I personally believe that Bitcoin's price will go down a little bit because the price doesn't increase immediately after halving, it always falls slightly and then bull run starts in winter. So, I'm waiting for a 50K price to buy Bitcoin and then I'll hold for a long time, till we surpass 100K USD. That's my plan right now, I prioritize catching only the great moments, this way I feel calm and profit way more.
52  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: LocalMonero/Agoradesk to be taken down on: May 08, 2024, 08:43:12 AM
Days of old trading platforms might be in the end stages, but I believe that smart devs can win in this cat & mouse game.
These are probably the last times we will be able to use privacy-oriented platforms and currencies. If I were you, I wouldn't have much hope about smart devs winning this cat and mouse game because developers are under attack too. When a developer creates anything that benefits people's privacy, he must acknowledge that he might end up in prison. I think that many developers won't risk getting caught.

I think they are giving these privacy sites choices. That they can just close down without any issue as early as possible or their site will be taken down and they will be arrested.
That's exactly what's happening right now.

This was quick and I don't know how the US government could scare them off
Just like Charles-Tim said above, the US government would order them to shut down their service or they'll get haunted and arrested.

especially since services like LocalMonero/Agoradesk cannot be classified as money laundering services or used to launder large amounts of cryptocurrencies without being noticed.
They aren't classified as money laundering services but they enhance privacy, enhanced privacy means less control for governments and this all leads to problems.
53  Economy / Gambling / Re: MetaWin.com | The First WEB3 Casino on: May 07, 2024, 02:41:52 PM
Who missed ETH can buy ETC, not financial advice but if they are doubtful about it, they can look at the parabolic curve of ETC in last bull run. They still have time to load ETC to their portfolio.
If the previous ETC bull run repeats, that will be a very nice profit.

And other scam Bitcoin forks too.

How many Bitcoin forks are there?
There are many scam Bitcoin forks but BCH was a very good win for Bitcoin holders. Soon after the fork, the price of Bitcoin Cash went up to $3,785. Bitcoin's price during the fork was 2800$. Now imagine how easy it was to hold tens of Bitcoins in 2017 and how profitable BCH airdrop would be, money was made out of thin air, by holding BTC.

Pretty sweet deal even for a new meme coin because I'm gonna deposit that amount either way lol. Sadly, saw it pretty late lol as I'm not that active on twitter anymore.
Yes, the deal was really sweet, 1 ETH. Btw that meme coin was advertised during the Premier League match

54  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FED action against bitcoin & crypto on: May 07, 2024, 10:13:52 AM
Apr. 30: Binance founder Changpeng Zhao sentenced to 4 months in prison after plea deal
CZ Got sentenced to a jail sentence in spite of him having made a very extensive plea deal with the feds only to avoid jail. He had even given up his role as CEO. CZ had willingly come to the U.S. to stand trial and he still didn't manage to avoid a sentence even though he fully cooperated. Albeit a small sentence it goes to show how ferocious feds can be.

May 1: DOJ charges ‘Bitcoin Jesus’ with $48 million tax fraud, seeks extradition
Early bitcoin supporter and investor Roger Ver, who had rescinded his U.S. citizenship and was traveling on a Saint Kitts passport he had bought, was recently arrested abroad. Now the feds are seeking his extradition.
These two FED actions aren't against Bitcoin and crypto, they are against Fraudsters. Changpeng Zhao and Roger Ver are very shady people. Changpeng Zhao has been letting people launder money on his Binance, he also has been helping Chinese users to bypass KYC restrictions, in overall, a very shady business practice.
The majority of this forum members also know who Roger Ver is. He is a guy that for some reason which I don't know, owns Bitcoin.com domain and uses this privilege to lie to people, promotes Bitcoin Cash over the original Bitcoin and does many shady things. It's good that these two people got in trouble but it drives me crazy how CZ only got to spend 4 months in prison.

Actions against Samouri Wallet Founders and Wasabi privacy mixing service are definitely an action against Bitcoin, cryptocurrencies and our privacy.
55  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Sparrow Bitcoin Wallet on: May 07, 2024, 09:35:14 AM
I prefer to lose the whirlpool feature, rather than losing the wallet.
Do you think it was a wise choice? The question obviously goes to everyone who have been using Sparrow
It's better to have something compared to having nothing. It would be a big loss if we didn't have Sparrow wallet, so losing the whirlpool feature was better than losing the whole wallet. It's like, losing a hand vs losing a life.

I definitely don't like it that Sparrow has removed mixing. For me it was a nice to have, but I didn't use it very often or all the time.
Like you, I haven't used the mixing feature but it was really a great feature for privacy seekers.

A few hours ago I signed and broadcasted a transaction with Sparrow but for some reasons, it wasn't really broadcasted but Sparrow was showing me that it was. I waited an hour, but nothing, the transaction wasn't searchable in the blockchain. Then I input a raw Bitcoin transaction in hex format on Blockchain.com and broadcasted the transaction that way. Then within minutes, my transaction appeared in every blockchain explorer and I also got a confirmation within minutes.
Can anyone tell me why did that happen? Why Sparrow didn't broadcast my transaction? It showed me that it did. Btw Electrum has never failed me.
56  Economy / Gambling / Re: ⭐ Crypto.Games ⭐ Polygon (MATIC) added! ⭐ Wagering Contest ⭐ Daily Challenges ⭐ on: May 07, 2024, 08:47:25 AM
We've added Polygon (MATIC)!
Very good. I think you should have added it in 2021 when there was a big hype around it with a bullish market but it's never too late. Crypto.Games (crypto-games) is a good old casino that I remember since I registered on this forum. How is the KYC situation on your website today? Since you offer in-house games and no 3rd party games, I assume you aren't asking for KYC as frequently as other casinos that offer games from providers. Can I gamble with a VPN on crypto.games to protect my privacy? I don't intend to bypass country restrictions.

Also in your FAQ pop-up window, there is a question - Do I need to pay transaction fees when I withdraw coins? Your answer is that you are updating fees every 10 minutes from BitcoinFees API and when I click on API it redirects me to bitcoinfees.21.co, this website no longer works and the best website to choose fees right now is mempool.space, so maybe it's a good idea to correct that answer.
57  Economy / Trading Discussion / Where do whales trade/withdraw money? on: May 06, 2024, 02:15:05 PM
I probably shouldn't be asking this question because I am an old member of this forum but this recent article on Cointelegraph quickly inspired me to ask this question here today. Satoshi-era dormant Bitcoin address wakes up after 10 years.

My questions are the following:
1. People who own hundreds and thousands of Bitcoins, where do they trade? It's risky to deposit such a high amount of coins on platforms like Binance and Coinbase because you aren't guaranteed that they won't block your account, even immediately after you deposit them. So where do they trade?

2. How do they convert their Bitcoins into fiat? I know that years ago there were some bank transfer deals on this forum, I remember that Bitmain wanted to sell 10 Bitcoin or something like that here and they probably had a deal with a forum member but today when the price is so high, where do these big holders sell their coins and get fiat in their bank account? On traditional exchanges?
58  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Congratulations. The epic sat of block 840000 has been inscribed. on: May 06, 2024, 01:51:02 PM
I found the network become congested because many users are minting EPIC which started with the epic sat inscribed. Regardless of whether you love BRC20 or not, it just exists and has a large market capacity.
Yeah, it exists but that's only a sad fact. Ordinals, runes, epic sats, these things don't exist, they are made up things to make money out of thin air. Giving value to all of these is like giving value to grass where Messi fell down with his face. It's like giving value to socks and pants that Messi wears because it's Messi. This is not normal.

Though the inscription system gains a large market today, I haven't participant in the activity yet. I think it is just a waste of BTC blockchain space. Such activities like NFT have better alternative platforms  Smiley such as Ethereum, not on BTC blockchain Cry.
You are right, this is just a waste of bitcoin blockchain but like you said previously, it's true that BRC20 exists and has a huge market. I intentionally ignore it because I believe it's scam, I don't find anything valuable in it and I think its created for money laundering and for scamming people, that's why I don't join and will never join BRC20 market.
59  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Aviator games on: May 06, 2024, 12:47:48 PM
Why don't we talk about aviator games here? It looks like the least played casino game. I don't understand it is there anyone who plays it and what's it like? I have watched YouTube videos on it, but still don't get how it works. And the conversations here about it is scanty.
Do you mean the Bitcoin crash game? I know Aviator game developers in person. I'll tell you the story, everything started with Bustabit. Aviator was first introduced and exclusively made for one Georgian casino. They liked Bustabit's original crash game so much that they were very near to rebranding their casino and naming it Aviator. They didn't change the casino's name but Aviator (crash game) became their icon. Then team Spribe was formed and they started selling the Aviator game to other casinos. This is the brief story of what happened. Btw PrimeDice and Bustabit are two legends among crypto casinos for bringing us these two amazing games.
60  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which device do you prefer for gambling ? on: May 06, 2024, 09:56:34 AM
A lot of gambling sites have emerged during and after the Covid-19 era and a lot of people have since then joined the gambling community.
We now have a wider audience who likes to gamble on desktop, laptop, mobile phone etc...
This poll is to see the most preferred device for gambling which I assume should be desktop as it provides a bigger screen and better user experience than any other device.
But a lot of people prefer mobile phones too and so lets just hit it and see what the actual results are.
Nothing beats a good old Desktop. Early gamblers started with Desktop computers because we didn't have good laptops years ago or they were very expensive. I remember that it was impossible to gamble with smartphones because websites and games weren't optimized for them. Today everything works flawlessly but I personally prefer to gamble with my Desktop device, then with my Laptop and then with my Smartphone but surprisingly in this poll, the smartphone is the number 2 choice for gambling. I personally find it's low screen boring and uncomfortable for gambling.

Always my computer.
For some reason, every single session I am playing on my phone ends up being a losing session, don't know why that is, so strange.
Also, on some sites the input somehow doesn't work sometimes, which is really annoying, especially if you clicked on the half your bet size button and it didn't register the click, you bet and saw the bet lost but with a higher wager than anticipated. This happened to me several times on the phone, and I am sure I clicked it right.

But yeah, that's why I always choose my macbook over the phone, it's just a different experience.
I get easily bored when I want to increase or decrease the bet or click on a button because I have to be very careful to touch a small button with my big fingers.
