Brian, can you tell me if the 12-word Koinify keyphrase can be used to re-import a wallet once it has already been imported into a factom wallet?

Huston! I have a problem  Smiley

When i'm running 'factomd' i'm getting this:

http://imgur.com/NiFd9yS

What's the cropped error above?

/.factom/NONE.conf: no such file or directory

This is the pic from HowTo:

Did you compile from source or install the binaries?

Yes. I have 3 binary files included in FactomApps folder in Applications directory after setup.

Can you post or link to the uncropped output you get when running factomd?

405  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [BBR] Boolberry Speculation on: October 05, 2015, 11:23:46 PM
Why is there high potential for one entity to own a large amount of this coin?  Low liquidity does not lend itself to mass accumulation.
406  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FACTOM - Introducing Honesty to Record-Keeping on: October 05, 2015, 02:06:38 AM
If you need help moving FCT I am willing to help out for a small fee (75 FCT), PM me the address you want the coins send to (should start with FA) and your 12 word phrase. Will turn the coins around less the fee ASAP- please enter "FCT" as the subject if possible.

You should mention how much trust is being placed in you by anyone taking you up on that.

Once I've imported my Koinify balance to my Factom wallet, can the 12 Koinify words be used to re-import it to another wallet?
408  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FACTOM - Introducing Honesty to Record-Keeping on: October 02, 2015, 12:59:45 AM
There's something very strange going on with the exchanges here.  There is no reason for integrating Factoids to take so much longer than integrating other fresh code base "coins".
409  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BitCrystals (BCY) - Innovating the Game Economy with Cryptocurrency on: October 01, 2015, 12:28:07 PM
Does exist a simple method to summarize day by day the bitcrystals spent (minus the bitcrystals refunded) in the card trading activities on the swapbots?

So we can easily calculate the daily (or weekly, montly...) bitcristals burning rate.

That would be cool.

Does Poloniex typically have as much (or more) BTCD volume than Bittrex these days?

my impression is that POLO usually has substantially lower BTCD vol than bittrex.

Me too but it seems like that might be changing.

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday I submitted the code to jl777 for integrating PAX into BitcoinDark.

He will be testing it over the next couple of weeks.

PAX = Pegged Asset Exchange, and yes, that's exactly what it is.  Wink

Matthew

How does that work in really general terms?

Is it possible to invest in this project?

A little bird told me that the first exchange will not be Cryptsy or Poloniex, instead it will be hosted on a brand new advanced digital currency trading platform Smiley

Well why don't you just come out and say what the rumor is?

I think we should start a rumor that it is Coinbase.

Mt GOX.
415  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Eventually the FUNGIBILITY issue of bitcoin will make headlines ... on: September 28, 2015, 03:34:50 PM
For privacy, I use blockchain.info's SharedCoin (a type of mixer) to avoid linking my BTC spends/transfers to my main wallet.  Has there been any indication that using a service like that could prevent a company from being willing to transact with you?

Of course, if the answer is no, this brings to mind a question like: why wouldn't a person with BTC from an undesirable source just use a mixer?

Mixers are ultimately poor workarounds. You are trusting that the mixer service is not keeping logs. It's a centralized measure. It requires trust, it's not a real solution. Also it's annoying as hell that everytime you use Bitcoin you have to first send it to some mixing service to guarantee privacy. Something needs to be done about this so this privacy is by default in-built in every wallet without needing to trust some mixing company.

Agreed on all counts.  So it sounds like I'm not greylisting or blacklisting my white BTC by using blockchain.info's SharedCoin service.

Hopefully the naysayers trying to convince us that the party is over will quiet down a little now.

Where is that conversation taking place?

418  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: September 23, 2015, 12:43:46 PM
Why would ETH need to be converted to BTC when you can convert it to fiat (on Kraken for example)?
And if Augur guys believe in their project, they shouldn't make ETH price crash. Well, they can for a reasonable amount, and in small batches, but otherwise it's shooting on your own foot.

personally i dont get Augur. they forked an alpha ethereum after ethereum had only just been released. they are presumably gonna run a pretty centralized blockchain on software very much in its infancy. why do they not run Augur on the ETH blockchain for example? Ive tweeted at Augur but never any comments re these topics. Obv lots of people wanna make a quick buck and assume they'll sell their presale at great profit. Im not so sure its gonna pan out like that.

Ethereum could eventually host the greatest decentralized gambling site/service but Augur seems a little premature and centralized.

Augur is an Ethereum fork?  I thought it was just a series of smart contracts and a front-end?

I just ran a Mint 17.2 livecd to test this and I'm seeing the same thing. Looking into it.

Nice to see the testing going on. I will run the new db version on Ubuntu later and post if I have any problems
My livecd ran out of space when i did an apt-get upgrade and I ran out if time. Now I'm taking care of a sick 1 year old who I think is trying to fall asleep on me. I'll see if I can continue testing in a bit.

Could we get this thing on poloniex yet? They have many other XCP tokens listed. I really want to dump this before everyone else realizes this was a bad idea and dumps.
I can't wait you to dump the tokens. Btw, you can sell them me at the presale price right now. I will buy any amount.

Farbags, cut the bullshit and tell us how much do you sell and lets get over with it.

Ha ha. He's not selling. He forgot to buy, that's why he's trying to fud the price down. His rhetoric about centralized mining is laughable when he's behind so many premined scam coins. Read up the thread, proof has already been posted. A true troll.
+1

I doubt we will see factoids ever go for presale price again. It's looking like $0.75-$1.00 per factoid now.

Where do you get that price info?
