401  Other / Meta / Re: Three millionth account registered on: January 28, 2021, 08:41:55 PM
Do you want to celebrate this event with us? Join the unofficial Discord server!

In May 2017, we celebrated the first million users, which is almost 8 years after the launch of the forum. Looking back, some of us may remember the discussion dedicated to the anniversary 2 millionth user who was registered on 03/04/2018. And although it was an alternative account, this does not negate the fact that it was a historical moment when we summed up the results and looked into the future with enthusiasm.

  • At the time of this posting, 2,999,089 profiles have been registered and I expect the Three Millionth User to be registered within 24 hours.

This is the anniversary thread and the continuation of the discussion started by Vod...... Are you ready for 2,000,000? / Below are a few anniversary quotes ..

Sorry if it sounds VERY ironic that an alt has been the 2000000th account on this platform, but there are quite a few things that I have to tell you all, possibly a new post will be better. I started as a small BTC speculative investor and cared little about the tech, I then became a shitposting Bounty Hunter. But over the months I've come to realize that it's much more than being either of them. I am trying to learn about the technology, not only BTC, but also the alts. I feel that the socio-economic impact/aspect of this revolution will be far more reaching than just the tech and it is yet to come, although I still am a noob and monetize my original account (can't help it, the pay is lucrative); I try to improve my posts and contribute to the community in  the small ways that I can.
Hi guys, I am glad to take the uid #1999999.

This is amazing achievement and speaks volumes about the growing popularity of Bitcoin and crypto.
I am glad I am one of those 3 millions members and I hope I am doing my bit to promote crypto to many others like me.
402  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin legit or not on: January 28, 2021, 08:38:48 PM
Its time to hear if bitcoin is legit or not!!
Someone with good and legit reputation need say here if bitcoin is secure safe and legit!!

We Trust USA dollar because its Federal reserve are legit guys!!

So is bitcoin good or not?

Someone like donald Trump should if its legit
That's not the right question. Bitcoin is legit in some countries and in other there is no clarity about Bitcoin.
Some countries have outrightly banned Bitcoin and buying ans selling Bitcoin in those countries is illegit.
403  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin's price drop to 30K healthy? on: January 28, 2021, 08:34:54 AM
https://www.fr24news.com/a/2021/01/analysts-say-bitcoin-price-drop-to-30k-was-healthy-and-necessary.html

Analysts say Bitcoin price drop to $ 30K was ‘healthy and necessary’

When people buy at ATH, they usually hold it till next ATH. This way we get more holders and bitcoin price gets support level.
Also when price fall after ATH, people start buying in the hope of making some profit during next ATH.
404  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: High possibility major governments will BAN Bitcoin in the near future on: January 27, 2021, 09:56:57 PM

There is a clear danger that the US, Europe, China, Japan and others will get togheter and flat out ban and even criminalize the usage and holding of Bitcoin. Resulting in after the ban, if you are cought using and holding BTC, you would get a huge fine or jail term.

I have been hearing this since a long time. What is the source of your assumption that these countries will ban BTC?
There is no news that support your assumption. On the other hand some governments are planning to regulate cryptos.
405  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Avalanche surpass Ethereum? on: January 27, 2021, 08:11:05 AM
Avalanche made massive gains last week and is continuing to take a leading position of projects to improve Ethereum like it is today. Avalanche has proven to be a groundbreaking platform and is constantly announcing new partnerships and projects based on Avalanche.

But is it really possible for Avalanche to surpass Ehereum? Ethereum is big, famous and leading, everyone knows and uses it.

I have made a list of arguments for and against Avalanche surpassing Ethereum:

Reasons why Avalanche will surpass Ethereum:

  • Better tech because Avalanche is using Avalanche consensus: better scaling, better decentralization, 4.5k transactions per second and fast transaction confirmation
  • It is very expensive to use Ethereum for small transactions currently
  • Avalanche is a capped asset (720,000,000 AVAX cap) – Ethereum has infinite supply
  • Ethereum 2.0 will take much more time to develop. Plenty time for Avalanche to prove to be better
  • Avalanche network is saving energy (green)

Reasons why Avalanche will not surpass Ethereum:

  • Ethereum is big, famous and leading, everyone knows and uses it
  • Developers won’t abandon Ethereum
  • Huge funding for Ethereum

What it your opinion? Will Avalanche surpass Ethereum?

It is hard to beat already established blockchains. Ethereum is already used by both individuals and definitely, institutions widely.
With more improvements in ethereum, it's community will only go up and make ethereum further strong.
Avalanche is also a good project and it can also and with time, it will also make it's own place.
406  Local / India / Re: Did you guys hear about the Indian Crypto Bank on: January 27, 2021, 08:02:59 AM
I was reading some articles when I stumbled upon this article where it said that Unicas, an Indian Crypto Bank has been launched and is about to roll out 14 branches in India.
They would be offering traditional banking services along with buy/sell crypto, exchange crypto to INR and getting loans against crypto through a single account.
The bank claims to open around 100 branches by 2022. Seems like they do have a plan. It would be good if these guys don't turn it into a scam  Huh

Well it does seem like something good but the probability of scam is always a risk.
Besides that it’s a joint venture between Indian online crypto banking platform Cashaa and United Multistate Credit Co-op Society.
We all know Cashaa was recently hacked. So I would definitely advise to do a thorough research before trusting this so-called crypto bank.

Get more info here:

Unless crypto are regulated by government through some law, it is always risky to use any such crypto related bank or even exchanges.
Remember greed leads one fall into scammers trap so be careful these fancy looking projects.
407  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do not be too happy on: January 27, 2021, 07:59:50 AM
Do not be too happy that big and giant companies are entering the field…
Because they set the price up and down whenever they want…
You should be happy when ordinary people invest more than big companies.
In simpler terms, it is much better if bitcoin or anything else that exists is distributed all over the world and reaches individuals and companies equally, or, as the saying goes, does not accumulate together.
Wherever governments or large corporations stand, they are sure to determine everything.
Successful and healthy  Wink

I agree with you. BTC will become more stable and valuable once retail investors start buying. Institional investors buy and sell later for profit but good thing is it make BTC more popular when institions buy it.
408  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: January 26, 2021, 09:09:07 PM
No one talks here that Ethereum just got $1,400+ a day or two ago.

Well, now I have almost all my funds in ETH. And today for me is more important rising price in sat, not usd. So, I think it is still possible. Even if btc price will be down.
They say buy dip but was it a real dip or crypto just went down for a long time
Not that really a dip though. Why people still say that the dip has come? if in fact that ETH's price keeps on pushing towards $1,500.

Eth price is not yet the ATH, We might witness its run a week from now.

Eth is not actually following bitcoins dip atm.
Well, just today Ethereum got hit the new ATH @ $1,450. That was unexpected when it fact yesterday the price of it was just playing $1200-$300.

Those who predicted that it could trigger the next ATH last time, well you guys are perfect and right!
Next target for eth is $2000. It will hit $5000 by year end. Eth is next big thing after BTC and one eth 2.0 is out, there will be no stopping for eth.

411  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why did the bitcoin fall? on: January 26, 2021, 08:30:46 AM
Bitcoin’s unexpected 11% decline has led it to hit its ultimate lowest level for the past three weeks as of 21st Thursday. I found and interesting article on this, what is your opinion? Let me know.

Source:
https://mycryptoparadise.com/bitcoin-refutes-claims-of-a-double-spend-flaw-responsible-for-the-cryptocurrencys-11-decline/

That's not the only reason of price fall. Most of the market is still controlled by bug whales and they manipulate it to their advantage. When price reaches a certain point, they sell and cause price fall. Once they made profit from their sell, they buy back at lower price.
412  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Are You Afraid of KYC? on: January 25, 2021, 08:23:13 PM

I can see that soon almost exchanges and even ICO programs will be requiring us to do the KYC procedures where we are required to pass copies of our legal documents before we are granted entrance or the use of the services or programs we are interested with. This can be as common as having a password or 2FA.

Now, personally I have no big problem with it though just like anybody else am also concerned that my personal information can be divulged to anybody or a group that might use it for any illegal purpose. This is one risk we are facing once we are actively living in the online world. Evil people who can be thousands of miles away can now be just one click away.

What are your apprehensions about the KYC procedures that will soon be as popular as noodles?
To be honest, yes I am afraid of doing KYC on exchanges. There are many reasons for that. First one being it makes my personal information vulnerable. No exchange is hack proof. If an exchange gets hacked, all my personal data will be compromised and can be misused.
Second it also defeats the very purpose of crypto, that is staying anonymous.
413  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does anybody have any suggestions for investing in Bitcoin? on: January 25, 2021, 09:13:27 AM
There are lot notions around the number one digital currency investment. Potential investors from Wall Street think that it might not be the best for them to invest in Bitcoin. Some people skepticism arise a result of record exchange hacks and also lot of scammers in various social media platform.
Financial expert advisor have different opinions about the bitcoin future despite the huge profit risk takers  made during this year rally. What is your legit suggestion  in investing into bitcoin base on the level of your exposure to the blockchain industry?

First remember the golden rule 'Never invest more than that you afford to lose'. Now coming to your question, if you see historical price of BTC, it is always growing with some down times. I don't think BTC has reached it full potential yet.
Everyday more people got to learn about BTC and crypto and everyday we get new holders.
414  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [IEO] ⚡AMEPAY- Crypto ⇌ Retail. IEO in BKEX + Listing in Bithumb Global 🔥 on: January 24, 2021, 09:00:00 PM
Tomorrow deposit and trading AME will open on MXC and XT.com, And at the end of February, the team will list AME on exchange Top 3 CMC, is this news not enough to push up the price to $ 0.02 (IEO price)?
I think this news is enough to push the current AME price but what I am most waiting for is the announcement about buyback and token burn because such an announcement will cause big push to the price in the market

It will bring more attention when the team start to provide information regarding to this matter, buyback and then burning volumes of coins will lessen the supplies.

With supply and demand nature of this invesmtent market, the lesser volume the more chances of become valueable in the long run, it's good to know what are the actions that being taken with this offer.
I am sure the price of ame tokens will reach $ 0.02 in the future, maybe because currently only the bithumb exchange has a large volume of trading amepay tokens, tomorrow we will witness it together when trading will start in my opinion it will slightly increase in price
Ame is making good progress. I participated in their airdrop and sold my tokens for $50. I am sure holders will make much larger profit if they hold it till project make progress according to their roadmap.
415  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: India plans to introduce law to ban cryptocurrency trading on: January 24, 2021, 08:53:34 PM
India plans to introduce a new law banning trade in cryptocurrencies, placing it out of step with other Asian economies which have chosen to regulate the fledgling market.

Quote
The bill is expected to be discussed shortly by the federal cabinet before it is sent to parliament, according to people familiar with the development who who asked not to be identified, citing rules on speaking with the media.

The federal government will encourage blockchain, the technology underlying cryptocurrencies, but is not keen on cryptocurrency trading, according to two people.

The Indian central bank had in 2018 banned crypto transactions after a string of frauds in the months following PM Narendra Modi’s sudden decision to ban 80% of the nation’s currency. Cryptocurrency exchanges responded with a lawsuit in the Supreme Court in September and won respite in March 2020.

India’s decision will be crucial as more Asian nation countries weigh pros and cons of virtual currencies. Rival China, which banned initial coin offerings and virtual currencies in 2017, recently allowed Bitcoin trading as virtual property, not as fiat money. It is also planning its own central bank digital currency. Both Singapore and South Korea regulate crypto trades.

A renewed trading ban could affect more than 1.7 million Indians trading in digital assets and a rising number of companies setting up platforms for the trade, data shows.

Instead of a ban, India needs a regulatory framework to protect uninformed retail consumers “to ensure adequate oversight of the government and the RBI over cryptocurrency businesses,” said Sanjay Khan, Partner, Khaitan & Co, a New Delhi-based lawyer who advises firms. “India can actually benefit from such a regulation to attract cryptocurrency investors and businesses.”

https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/economy/policy/government-plans-to-introduce-law-to-ban-cryptocurrency-trading/articleshow/78132596.cms

How many time they are trying to do that! Do you think they will achieve this success by banning cryptocurrency?Huh?
This is old news. The latest is Indian Government is planning to bring BTC under tax regime. That also indicates that India will soon regulate crypto. Once that happens, BTC will go to $100k.
416  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New ATH, New ATH, New ATH on: January 24, 2021, 08:51:14 PM
After 3 years of waiting for new ATH we finally had it and it keeps on getting higher and higher since it broke $20K.
It is great to finally see it go this high after being low for the past 3 years.

Yeah, then from now on, when do you think will be having another ATH? Do we expect after 3 years again? It's so exciting to wait in every increase in bitcoins value. It always reminded us how valuable this kind of digital currency now.
Not in next 3 years, next ATH will happen sooner than that. In fact it is just few months away. BTC has attracted institutional attention and now price increase will happen in big slabs.
Like $10k price up within a week.

What about #Proof of Registration for signature campaign! We don't have this rule in our section. Do we need to do it?
Want to ask same question. Also there is no field in form to fill current post count. Without this how will you know when we started posting after wearing signature?
418  Local / India / Re: How do YOU convert your Bitcoins to INR ? on: January 24, 2021, 10:44:38 AM
You can convert your Bitcoins to INR on PCEX Member.

PCEX Member is an India based crypto trading platform on which you can buy, sell or trade cryptocurrencies in INR.

They charge the lowest trading fee of 0.3% in the spot market along with zero deposit and withdrawal fee.

You do not need to pay huge fees on trade and any charges for deposit and withdrawal, unlike other cryptocurrency exchanges.

They also offer Futures Trading in the crypto market. You can trade Futures of mainstream cryptocurrencies like BTC, BCH, ETH, LTC, XRP, XMR, DASH, ETC, EOS, BSV, LINK & DOT with up to 30X Leverage.

You can trade on their android app as well, it is available on the Google Play Store.
I suggest one should avoid lesser known new exchanges yo avoid being scammed. There are some good reuptes and old crypto exchanges mentioned in this thread. Op should try them.
419  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can you really 'Sell High and Buy Low' in this 2020 BITCOIN Bull Run? on: January 24, 2021, 08:56:59 AM
Bitcoin already reached it's new ATH this in 2020. Now 2021 will bring new ath and this time $60-$70k is possible.
420  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can you really 'Sell High and Buy Low' in this 2020 BITCOIN Bull Run? on: December 28, 2020, 08:46:36 AM
Is it really possible to 'Sell High and Buy Low' in this bull run?

First I sold some at 19600 hoping it will pull back before crossing 20k and I will buy back at 'LOW'. It never pulled back.

Then I sold some again at $25k milestone, hoping that it will pull back which never did.  I then sold some at $25800 hoping it will pull back before going further. And again it never pulled back.  BITCOIN is just going ATH after ATH.  BTC is setting new ATH every day, if not every hour  Grin  I stopped selling now  Cool

It's not like I am complaining, far from it!  I am enjoying every bit of it.  But how can we really follow the mantra of 'Sell High Buy Low' Huh Tongue
Sell high and buy low is not everyone's cup of a tea. Sometimes you lose a lot of profit if you sell early assuming you are selling at high because you never know how high BTC will go.
Let's say someone bought BTC at $5000 and sold at $10000.
Now though he made double of his investment, yet he lost more than what he earned.
On top of that, he might never be able to buy BTC again at that price.
