How do I check bitcoin version sorry noob question
On QT it's in the Help/about tab. On the daemon it's: Aaaand another BLOCK!! Out. Freaking. Standing. Edit: corrected code.

That's from nearly 2 years ago with much older clients - I don't think it's that that, especially as workers can't connect. Edit: @ btcscot - what version is your bitcoin client?

This looks like a problem at the very start: 2015-10-01 10:53:04.497111 > Unhandled error in Deferred: 2015-10-01 10:53:04.497268 > Unhandled Error 2015-10-01 10:53:04.497311 > Traceback (most recent call last): 2015-10-01 10:53:04.497370 > Failure: twisted.internet.defer.TimeoutError: in ReplyMatcher I'm not sure what's causing it though - timeout errors are usually a network issue but maybe someone a bit more tech savvy can chime in.....?

jtoomim - what's the standard queue setting on them?
8192, like all other Bitmain gear. The main problem is that Bitmain's cgminer will abandon stale shares by default, which is problematic with p2pool. (A stale share means a DOA/orphan on the share chain, but could still find a block.) Yeah, that's what I figured they'd be. I found changing the queue setting to 1 0r 0 helps, but hopefully kano will be able to work his magic again & fix their terrible cgminer fork bork.

You have already got S7? My piece is paid but did not arrive yet...
We have 10 so far, but only 1 belongs to us. jtoomim - what's the standard queue setting on them? Thanks

As of block 376918 AntPool has added 561 empty blocks to the blockchain of the 8094 total blocks it has solved. That's 6.93% of all the blocks they've ever solved. Edit: Here is the list of the offenders. Worst on top. I have purposefully left out any unknowns and have just reported the pools that have submitted empty blocks. Thanks for the confirmation JB, good info here. So it's official, the results are in - antpool is the worst Bitcoin network abuser/offender of all time. Edit: It's no surprise which pool was the most Bitcoin friendly pool - BTCGuild. Eleuthria - you are sorely missed

im missing out on so many blocks lol oh well will be pleased when i get this pool running and some people on it lol
Yeah, you picked a bad week to have network problems my friend Current 7 day luck is 199.92%! That's crazy. You could point your miner at someone else's node until your problems are resolved

Creating a(nother) centralized pool doesn't help decentralize the network - it creates another centralized pool.
Apart from that, to start a pool requires the owner to have a major amount of initial hash rate to begin with to make it competitive. Trust is also needed. There's been a glut of new pools appearing lately run by noob accounts with no post history or proof of trustworthiness resulting in miners getting scammed, unpaid, lied to & generally ripped off. Transparency is important as miners are now very suspicious of new pools, & rightly so.
Running a pool isn't easy, it's also a thankless task & the amount of work involved is underestimated by most people. Good luck.
I understand that, yet the lack of support for p2pool and the likes.....What Not sure where you're getting your info from. P2pool has one of the most active threads on this forum (13447 post to date) as well as reddit & other forums. Issues/fixes are rapidly dealt with by the dev via github & it has forks that also cater for a multitude of altcoins. It is also one of the longest running pools. Please don't post false information about other pools in an effort to promote your own.

All the sfardites have moved to the SPT thread.........

I launched Nexious a couple of months ago with the main aim at helping decentralize the network.....

Patman, over on Cryptocointalk Proto, is asking about nodes.
Him & me both - I'm p3yot3 over there. My wallet synced for a couple of minutes - long enough to receive the 100 you kindly sent me - but it stalled again I want to mine it, but it's impossible with the connection problem.

The SP50 would need to price in the range of 120-150BTC to compete
Surely you mean 80-90? No way. Bitmain is selling 0.25w/gh at about 1.4btc/th. This is 0.15w/gh and includes power supplies, but also a 'bulk priced' device, so i would expect 1.2-1.6btc/th. That said, I'm not buying any hardware until my bitcoins are worth at least $300 again. Otherwise you will never earn back the btc you spend (like buying hardware with $100 bitcoins in mid-2013) Agreed, especially with halving upon us - I fear the halving of profits of these large mining farms owned by asic manufacturers will try to be recouped by yet more ridiculous prices for mining gear, effectively killing the market & handing them the monopoly.

All that you need to know about this shit pool. Obvious owners do not give a fuck about its customers. That's actually old data... it hasn't gotten any better at all. It would be nice to see some updated stats, just to show people how much the worst offenders (antpool, f2pool & eligius) are screwing over the Bitcoin network & everyone who relies on it.

The ports are fine I didn't setup a firewall that I know off
But maybe your provider has? Edit: Another BLOCK!!

Any ideas why I can access my public node via the browser but cgminer can't resolve it up address is 62.75.188.90:9332
I get occasional dropped connections when I ping your node - did you contact your provider to make sure they are forwarding ports? Is your firewall configured?

Is anyone here using the S7 on p2pool? If so, how are they performing? I'm interested to know if they are still using the crazy queue settings with their cgminer fork & if anyone has replaced it with the mainline cgminer yet. If bitmain lower their prices again soon, I might be tempted.....if they work OK with p2pool that is.
