401  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Charitable Casinos on: February 03, 2023, 09:57:07 PM
I think that this is a very good attitude and that more casinos should set this good example, however it should not be ignored that casinos are producing many addicts each year, I hope that when a casino does charity it avoids enticing more people to play in the casino because with this we will see more people losing money and more people becoming addicted to gambling

if on the one hand we have casinos doing charity work, on the other hand we have casinos that are destroying the lives of many people, this reality that there are many addicts to gambling cannot be ignored, which is why I ask myself if we can really consider It's a good thing that casinos constantly do charity

I'd say this isn't a good idea. It's good in general if you think about it as an ethical standard but really a casino that does it starts to look suspicious in my eyes.

Why would they give away some of their profits if not for their own benefits? There's no real charity in business like SBF was giving out donations and it was all one big scam. Every donation he made was not with his own money and was supposed to buy him time to run his scam.
402  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: really no kyc crypto casino on: February 02, 2023, 10:23:24 AM
If you are talking about cloudbet, you can refer to their Ann thread here: Cloudbet | Bitcoin Casino & Sportsbook | The No.1 Bitcoin Gambling Site, maybe you can ask them your questions directly, although the official account hasn't been logging in, although I saw that the account has recently woke up, so they might answer your questions in that thread.

As for KYC, sad to say, almost all casinos now are going to require KYC as this have been mandated by regulators, specially if you are going to withdraw some money or if the casino itself deem it needed to ask for more info before proceeding with the withdrawal, maybe there is a red flag on their part.

That's right. Nowadays you either choose a licensed casino with KYC or unlicensed with no KYC.

The only thing that should be frowned upon and I really wish people were boycotting casinos that do it is not asking for KYC on registration and when a player loses money, but making it hard for him to withdraw when he wins. Suddenly stupid requirements like proof of residence, utility bill and such come up when you want to withdraw a win.

403  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto YouTubers are all financial advisors on: February 01, 2023, 07:47:58 PM
They are advising you because they say buy this, buy that or if I had the money I'd buy this now because it's good, not a financial advice.

That's all so stupid. It's like you were talking to a person of the same sex and saying you're so pretty, I get horny looking at you, if I had a free apartment right now I'd invite you in for the night, by the way, no homo. Smiley

They include this in their videos because some stupid laws require them to but it doesn't change the fact that they're making people buy these shitcoins or put money on scam platforms. We all know who was shilling FTX so I won't even put their names here.
404  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your take on this crypto gambling use case idea? on: February 01, 2023, 07:28:10 PM
I think it can only work if their token has fixed rate to usd. Anyways if it's fixed rate, it doesn't matter at all to use their own token. I know there are some crypto casinos using their owm cryptocurrency that can be bought and sold in centralized exchanges. But I think nearly all of them added their coin/token as option. Making it mandatory to use in that specific exchange may damage their business in my personal opinion.

So you'd like a casino to issue a stable coin?

That would require big money just to support the peg and then additional money on top of that to have the bankroll. I don't think it's ever going to happen because if a business had so much money to launch a stable coin and keep it pegged to the dollar in a competitive market they'd be better off launching another casino like primedice did with stake. It's more profitable than a coin and a coin can fail on its own which will damage your casino business. Nobody would take that risk.
405  Economy / Gambling / Re: Looking for paying online casinos for refer on: February 01, 2023, 07:07:55 PM
That is if they allow your referral link. I have some experience with this in the past where I post youtube videos and the ref link is on the description. I made the video popular where I get a considerable amount of views and comments on it but only very few are signing under my link. It turns out they are aware of the referral link so they remove it.

There should be something to entice people to sign under such a link like signing under your link will give them a higher deposit bonus or something like that as an incentive or more free spins.

They don't. It's written in the OP of his campaign that modifying the signature in any way is not allowed, which means you can't add your own affiliate link. I assume that it would be written somewhere that modifying it with your affiliate link is an exception.

The easiest way to get into a referral program is to join a campaign that allows you to add your own referral link. I sued to post for casinos that did and actually got some good referral income on yolodice a few years ago.

Getting a referral link instead of a campaign signature is a bit counterproductive.
406  Economy / Gambling / Re: I accidentally deposited to self-excluded stake.com account. on: February 01, 2023, 06:42:35 PM
It's your fault and not Stake, they expect all their players to fully understand the rules and what's on their terms of service, and now the only one who can answer you on this issue is the support because it's unlikely that anyone here experienced what your issue if you can still see the amount you deposited in your account, there's a possibility that you can use that amount after the self-exclusion expire, how long did you apply a self-exclusion apply.
Next time log in first and check your account before depositing.

That's harsh. We all make mistakes.

People who are addicted like OP are especially vulnerable. When an addict wants a dose of what makes him click he doesn't think of anything else like what he's going to do or eat tomorrow or if he has any responsibilities like children. All that matters is to play for a while or get that pill or a glass of alcohol.

I can put myself in OP's shoes and I feel like it's a normal thing that he'd forget about self exclusion when he felt the need to play.

Should have checked, sure, but imagine oversleeping, you wake up late want to do everything fast, forget your car keys, run back to the house and your mother is standing there preaching:
you should've set the alarm better, you should've checked if you have the keys when you were leaving! It's not constructive at all.
407  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Being Lonely drives you towards Gambling....! on: February 01, 2023, 06:18:24 PM
Most people react like you, OP. They find things that make them forget about the harshness of life and keep doing them compulsively. For some people it's drinking alcohol, for others gaming, for you it's gambling.

I have a friend who is a gamer and when he's in the mood because things don't go well between him and his mother or with his girlfriend he always plays computer games and drinks himself to sleep. I saw him do that a few times where he'd get so drunk while playing the game that he'd lose consciousness and sleep on the keyboard.

You didn't do anything wrong in a stressful situation. We're human not robots. I hope at least your mom is better now.
408  Economy / Speculation / Re: Just how bad is the bear demand right now on: February 01, 2023, 06:01:55 PM
Just how bad is the bear market right currently?
Historically low expenses have survived for a longer period in the present bear market cycle than in any other.
The leading cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, has been in a freefall since January 2021, when it hit a high of $69,000. A maximum unrealized failure of 75% from the all-time high was sustained by long-term investors as BTC fell to $17,000 midway through the year. An important indicator of the true worth of one's Bitcoin assets is the net unrealized profit or loss (NUPL).
You must be living in alretnate reality. The 69 thousand was in November 2021, not January.

I'd also like to address the fact that long term investors did not lose 75%. Long term hodlers are people who bought in the bear market of 2018 - 2020 or before that, not people who bought in 2021 and decided to hold on to their coins no matter what.

Those who bought in 2020 or before did not lose anything. Their coins are worth more and in the worst moments at 15 thousand some of them were maybe at a 10% loss. if they were holding coins from that small bull run in 2019.
It's the same for people who bought in 2020. Most of them were in the green in this bear market.

Bitcoin has been on a downward trend recently. The cryptocurrency market hit a three-month low of $18,432 earlier this week. CoinGabbar reports that the current price of Bitcoin (BTC) is $18,930, down 3.21% in the previous 24 hours. Since its price dropped recently, Bitcoin's share of the cryptocurrency market has shrunk. This means that Bitcoin now accounts for 41.02% of the total market cap of all cryptocurrencies.

You've just said that we've been in a bear market since 2021, now it's recently? Bear market means we're constantly in a downtrend and all run ups end with lower highs.

Institutional Investors Have Little Faith
Grayscale, a company that manages bitcoin assets, has noticed a decrease in its Bitcoin volumes. What this says is that institutional investors are not optimistic. The largest institutional investor in Bitcoin, Microstrategy, has increased its holdings.

Do they? If the largest institutional investor is buying it doesn't look like they're not optimistic. Institutions were mostly investing through proxies and these proxies were getting insolvent one by one last year because they were lending money. It's not a lack of trust in bitcoin but in centralized entities that custody bitcoin. I'm fine with that, maybe they'll finally learn to custody themselves.

Re: Lost access to MY Google account paying 10k
$10K for email recovery fee? that's lot of money bro, I hope it's comparable to your data in that email.
I guess you should really convince everyone that you will pay them 10K if they succeed. I'm just not sure about the amount you promised because basically you can leave at any time without bothering with this account again if it works. Should you be spending 10K on fees instead of create new email or spending 1K of them to contact google?

That's what I'm thinking as well. Unless there's important information on the email, otherwise the fee offering seems to be too good to be true.
I had the same issue in the past and was able to force Google into returning the account back to me, so it's definitely possible to recover the account.
But I'm worried that OP won't pay the fee after the account is recovered.

If you have experience with this and the only thing stopping you is him not paying, maybe OP could put the money on escrow. It doesn't have to be 10k, it can be less than that, like half of the offered money, but this way if someone gets the account back they will know they weren't doing it for free. Even if OP disappears, at least they'll get some of the money.

This is what google says you should do if the phone number was changed.

Go to the account recovery page, and answer the questions as best you can. These tips can help.
They will ask you for your last known password and phone number before it was changed. If that's correct you might be able to get the account back.
A lot will depend on whether you know the information on your account like your name and birthday.

410  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What could make you start using a new crypto wallet today? on: January 31, 2023, 08:10:31 PM
I don't change wallets often.

The only reason why I'd do it is if the new wallet provided me with a function that I desperately needed or if the current wallet stopped working or had a vulnerability.

I wouldn't switch to a very new wallet like version 1.0. I might do beta testing if they paid me but I wouldn't move all my money there. I don't need this additional risk.
411  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 284: Makhachev vs. Volkanovski on: January 31, 2023, 07:30:36 PM
Despite having less wins Makhachev is really good and I'd even say better especially after seeing him fight against Oliveira who is very experienced and fought very good fighters compared to Makhachev.

Oliveira won against Poirier and Gaethje who are top class fighters while there are no such names in Makhachev's profile. This shows that the guy can achieve a lot if he doesn't become to cocky or stressed.

One could say that Volkanovski defeated better opponents but 3 of his top fights are against the same guy, Max Holloway, who is good, but had some mental breakdowns and wasn't in his top shape which got him kicked out of the UFC.

412  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Medical student wins lottery 5 times after embezzling graduation funds on: January 30, 2023, 09:35:01 PM
This type of thing are more common than most people think. Many people steal money and then they try to gamble and win big, so that they can pay it back and just take the profit. Even if they succeed in doing that, it is still illegal.... so if it was found out... they could still be prosecuted.

In the majority of these cases, people might win a little bit of money... but most of them lose more than what they are stealing... and then it grows bigger and bigger, because they do not stop trying.  Shocked

That's why a single person, especially a student, should not be trusted with that much money.

Quote
the woman had access to approximately R$ 920,000, which would be used to pay for the graduation at the end of this year.

Why wasn't there a second person with access to the account? Why wasn't there a rule that the account has to be accessed by both owners for the money to be moved. There are shared accounts where you need 2 people to agree on each transfer. You can slso set a minimum and maximum withdrawal with or without a notification to other owners of the account.

Sho was stealing the money for weeks if not months by moving it to her personal account and nobody even noticed.
413  Economy / Economics / Re: Don’t Fall Prey to these Market Sentiments and Save your Bitcoin on: January 30, 2023, 09:16:25 PM
You gave DCA as something to do instead of hodling, at least that's how I understood this because you say we should not HODL and DCA instead.

I find this strange because I DCA to HODL. I don't take my profits because that means taxes. In some countries you don't pay taxes when you hold your coins and if I were to add bitcoin network fee, exchange fee and tax to go to fiat and then back from fiat into bitcoin I'd only add unnecessary risk to my investment without getting any profit. It makes sense for a trader but there are different people with different goals and not all of them will want to sit in front of a screen all day trading.
414  Economy / Economics / Re: I have resolved into buying more and caring less on: January 30, 2023, 08:54:26 PM
Also, never think that just keeping bitcoins stored is the best way to go. Meanwhile, one should also exchange coins when there is chance of trading it for the high low prices thus minting more coins in the process. Smiley

That's completely false. Tell that to people who had money on FTX, Quadriga, Mt. Gox, or any other bankrupt exchange that one should keep buying and selling all the time.

Not every person is a trader.
Not every person wants to risk their money moving them in and out of exchanges. Not every person wants to pay taxes each time bitcoin makes a move.

Holding makes you safe. It won't allow you to make as much money as you'd do if you were trading but you take no risk by doing it.
Many people made a mistake of sending bitcoins to a wrong address or taking a wrong trade, trading on leverage and losing it all... I prefer to be careful with my coins.
415  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Power Slap League on: January 30, 2023, 08:39:34 PM
But at least they must really have strong energy to do a very hard slap that can make their opponent lose immediately. This slapping game is very dangerous because a shock in your skull can make you faint instantly. No matter how hard we try to withstand the effects of the slap, our heads will still experience the shock and there will be a dizzy effect after receiving the slap.

And this is much worse than what boxers endure because they cover themselves and not all hits get through the guard and hit clean. With slappers every hit lands and does some damage. They may not knock them out but the brain gets rattled like if they were in a car accident.

There were cases of wrestlers who were getting hit in the head by chairs all the time who were losing sight and hearing or becoming numb. There was this famous wrestler Chris Benoit who had so much mental problems from multiple brain injuries that he killed his whole family and committed suicide without any reason. They weren't leaving him or anything, he wasn't on drugs or drunk. Your brain is a delicate machine and once it gets broken there's no way to fix it.
416  Economy / Services / Re: Campaign manager search on: January 30, 2023, 08:19:05 PM
"Hi, I am soon starting to manage campaigns here. I can manage your campaign for 10% of the total budget, as a special offer since it will be my first campaign".

BenCodie, Please tell us your vision for the campaign. We are also interested in how it all works because some points are still not completely clear to us. Unfortunately, I can only send private messages twice a day, so I would appreciate an extensive answer so that I don't have to ask several times for incomprehensible details.

I know everyone has to start at some point, but do you expect people to hire you when they have all these people with experience to choose from. What can you offer that they cannot? Why should participants trust you to pay them when you could run with the money at any time?

10% of the budget is a lot. A campaign that pays people $100 with 20 participants has a monthly budget of 8000 dollars, so you'd like to be paid 800 a month for a few hours of work. That's a good deal for a newbie, don't you think?
417  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If There could be A Time where A Man itself will be like wallet? on: January 29, 2023, 07:44:20 PM
I came across information about individuals who implant RFID chips under their skin, usually in the forearm, for storing various types of data. With this, they can easily unlock electronic locks (e.g. home, car) and even sign bitcoin transactions just by waving their hand in front of an RFID reader if the private key of the wallet is programmed into the chip. Interesting stuff! However, I'm not considering it myself yet as I have no idea about the security implications of the process.

Not that interesting, pretty much useless since the chip is working the whole time so whoever knows that you have this can interact with the chip and copy your ID.

In the current state of technology this is really bad and people who have cars that unlock in the presence of the key nearby have learned it the hard way. Thieves have frequency modulators that try random frequencies and it takes a few minutes before a car is unlocked without the need to touch it. You just stand near it with the device in your pocket, then if it unlocks you get in and drive away.

I don't understand why someone would implant such chip if they could have it on a chain around their neck. The only valid reason to implant a chip is if you're afraid of kidnapping and want someone to be able to track you.

Let's keep money in our pockets for now, not under our skin.
418  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where to bet on Billiards sports? on: January 29, 2023, 07:17:06 PM
I searched around and the majority of sportsbooks that I saw only have snooker. perhaps if the tournament is an international competition like the world pool championship, sportsbooks might offer odds for it.

anyway, I saw this on Wikipedia, Efren Reyes holds the most title of winning the tournament the most times, holds the most consecutive wins and holds the title of the oldest pool player to win the Derby City Classic.

The traditional billiards played with 3 balls is almost extinct. People either play pool or snooker.
There's an option to bet on pool at BetOnline and they accept bitcoin deposits, but AFAIK convert them to USD and that's the currency you actually bet with.

If you decide that you give up looking for biliards and can as well bet on snooker, here's some options for you.

419  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are there gambling games/sports that suits a particular gender the more? on: January 29, 2023, 06:48:35 PM
Women are famous to mainly play slot games, Moon Princess from Play'n Go and Starlight Princess from Pragmatic Play seem to have been made to suit this gender for example, but ladies are also known to enjoy playing lotteries, bingo along with poker. While classic table card games like blackjack and baccarat are mostly played by men. Roulette and craps are more neutral and randomly played by both genders IMO.

Obviously these slots were designed to attract young females, but we'd need some statistics to know if they were successful. Maybe all they managed to attract is some lonely Japanese males who were lured in by anime girls in short skirts.

What about the fluid gender? We should not discriminate. Maybe there are fluid gender games made for people who can't decide if they're male or female Tongue

I'm a girl and I've never been attracted by any flashy games. I'd rather play blackjack than flashy slots that assumes that if you put a lot of pink colors stars and rainbows it will be more attractive to women.

You as a crypto adopter would you like to use CBDC if the pairs are available on all crypto exchanges as a way to store yourself some digital US Dollar?
It will take me months to see how CBDCs work, how secure it is before I use CBDCs as a replacement for fiat currencies.
More like years. In the UK they are currently looking for a specialist in the field. It's going to be hard to find someone who can do it since there was no successful CBDC experiment yet, but there was a number of unsuccessful ones like the one in Zimbabwe.

I can't believe there are people willing to use these surveillance coins. If you want to trade, use a stable coin. CBDC is going to be like a stable coin just with some added features like controlling your spending habits and carbon footprint.
