Who copies and pastes someone else's negative feedback after they change it to a neutral.
Someone who was dropped as a child.

At least he got your name right.
4062  Economy / Services / Re: Thailand Taxi Service Bitcoin accepted here on: October 07, 2019, 07:15:48 PM
I went to visit my daughter who was studying abroad at Chiang Mai University.

Yes, Thai women are beautiful, and hospitable, but I don't engage in prostitution.  It's one of the worst stereotypes a single man has to deal with when he mentions visiting Thailand, and honestly it's getting tiresome.  And, I can imagine it's the worst stereotype Thai women have to deal with if they are seen with a white man.   Roll Eyes

I did meet a very nice woman there, and we became friends.  She cooked me an amazing meal one night, and the rest I'll leave for your imagination.
4063  Economy / Services / Re: Thailand Taxi Service Bitcoin accepted here on: October 07, 2019, 04:54:58 PM
Very cool.  I visited Thailand for the first time this past spring, and fell in love with the country.  I can't wait to go back.  I will definitely try your service next time I'm there.  Do you serve Chiang Mai, Phuket, and Krabi?  Are your drivers set up on the Grab app?
4064  Economy / Reputation / Re: DireWolf14 : Trust exaggeration on: October 07, 2019, 02:38:29 PM
@Direwolf14 will you be leaving the negative trust?

I've changed it to neutral, that's as far as I'm willing to go.

On it's own your post may sound like it's about collateral, but the context in which you posted it's obviously meant to coach the newbie on how to get a loan without leading to the suspicions that I raised earlier:

@DadyD you have 0.0017 BTC already, which you want to use as collateral to borrow 0.0015 BTC?  Why?

The newbie's answer; to farm trusted reviews.  It's all there in black and white and just in case it all goes away, here's the archive: https://archive.fo/L5p39

4065  Economy / Lending / Re: Interested in applying for a Loan proposal, (need your views on this) on: October 06, 2019, 09:54:27 PM
Too many draw-backs and not enough assurances for my liking.
So lets say, you were willing to fullfil this loan, what are the adjustment you would add to make it suitable?

I've given you a non-collateralized loan for about $500 (I think) worth of ETH in the past.  If it was a BTC or ETH loan for about that amount, or even slightly more I wouldn't hesitate.  But I would want the same currency as repayment, and 5% for what is essentially a non-collateralized loan is a bit low.

I've thought about adding $1,000 worth of stable-coin to my loan offerings, but I don't know which one I want.  Maybe DAI in the future, but again it's not something I'm doing now and I don't think it's a popular enough coin at this point to make an impact.  I am certain that converting my BTC (or even ETH) to USD value for a loan isn't something I would consider beneficial.
4066  Economy / Lending / Re: Interested in applying for a Loan proposal, (need your views on this) on: October 06, 2019, 08:10:21 PM
Just to offer my opinion; I wouldn't accept this loan with your conditions.

1) Assume the lender doesn't have USD to loan, so he would have to convert BTC (for the purpose of this loan) into USD.  I'm usually bullish on BTC, so that a no starter.
2) If the lender was bullish on the altcoin you want to purchase, why wouldn't he just purchase it himself?
3) If the lender is bullish on BTC, the likelihood of it going up 25% (5% for 5 months) is actually very good.  All it would have to do is return to $10k, so there's really no advantage for the lender.
4) Bitcoin could spike to well above $10k in a heartbeat, leaving the lender at a loss.
5) Your intention to use the BTC to buy an altcoin effectively makes that altcoin the collateral, introducing the risks associated with that altcoin.

Too many draw-backs and not enough assurances for my liking.
4067  Other / Off-topic / Is Marc Márquez the best MotoGP rider ever? (spoiler of this morning's race) on: October 06, 2019, 07:26:27 PM
Any MotoGP fans around here?  What do you think of Marc Márquez?

I'm a VR46 fan, and likely always will be.  I really don't like Márquez' attitude or his aggressive riding style.  I think he takes too many risks with the safety of other riders.  But I can't help but think we are witnessing history in the making.  The guy is a fucking robot, only rivaled by our own LoyceV in his abilities (in their respective field.)

Unless Yamaha really switches things around next year, or Vale jumps to another factory team after the 2020 season, I don't see him claiming another championship.  Currently Vale is 2nd on the all time win list, 7 wins away from matching Agostini's career record (122 wins.)  But Valentino hasn't won a single race this year.  Is he getting too old, or an we blame Yamaha for his lack of productivity?

Consider that Márquez is fourth on the all time list, sitting at 79 wins as of this morning, and with this morning's win he clinched this year's championship with 4 races left to the season. He is 14 years younger than Rossi, and it seems like he's just getting started.

So what do you think, is Márquez the greatest ever?
4068  Economy / Lending / Re: Loan request. 0.0015 [btc] on: October 06, 2019, 05:05:22 PM
Just going to chime in here. Could we not have left this new user a neutral. Then explained to them how this is not the appropriate way to build up a trusted reputation?

The OP was given an explanation by TryNinja why his behavior is untrustworthy, and he had the opportunity to retract his statement, and acknowledge that this is frowned upon.  Instead, he doubled down and proceeded as he had started.  I wouldn't have left him a review at all if he had adjusted his approach.

Also, I have a strong suspicion this "newbie" isn't really a newbie at all.
4069  Economy / Reputation / Re: DireWolf14 : Trust exaggeration on: October 06, 2019, 04:56:15 PM
I can't message you, need to open a thread here.
You've abused that privilege in the past.

You posted negative trust on my account for holding a new member's BTC. Not justified at all.
Wrong.  The review, as others have already pointed out is because you are coaching the (supposed) newbie on how to farm trust.  I may have chosen the wrong reply to use as the reference, but the proof is there, and the review is clear.

Please remove this, also I think it was a misunderstanding of what @DadyD searched for here (or maybe not), I was just holding more than his asked-for loan amount.
Thanks for asking politely, but to steal a line from Captain Barbossa: I'm disinclined to acquiesce to your request.
4070  Economy / Lending / Re: Loan request. 0.0015 [btc] on: October 06, 2019, 04:13:32 PM
As you wish my friend. If you have something against me its oky, just leave marco alone...almost in this thread.

I have nothing against you personally but I really don't approve of anyone attempting to play the trust system, regardless of their end motive.  If you had any trustworthiness to your character it would have become obvious in due time.  Even if all you are attempting to do is accelerate that inevitability, that alone is deceitful.

I'm still waiting for somene to loan me. And thanks for your negative trust, i will prove you i'm not a scamere, trust me.

I'm afraid you just made it nearly impossible for me to trust you.
4071  Economy / Lending / Re: Loan request. 0.0015 [btc] on: October 06, 2019, 03:56:29 PM
marco is the only one who trusted my and startet to deal with...Its hard to start as newbie. I dont care what he did in past, with me he was fair.

Well, don't be surprised if no one jumps on your offer.  It's not only you that needs to trust marco, the lender must also trust your chosen escrow.  Good luck with that.

I'm trying to get some loan to incrase my trust, i have to start somewhere and i decided here. Its stupid, right, but at least i can build some trust base. I just want to proof that i'm not a scamer, even if i lose some btc early. Thats all.

Farming trusted reviews is a form of scam.  It's deceptive on it's premise.  Coincidentally, that's why I gave marco a negative review, because of his deceptive behavior.  You have just proven that you are not at all trustworthy.

@DadyD you have 0.0017 BTC already, which you want to use as collateral to borrow 0.0015 BTC?  Why?  If you need 0.0015 just spend the BTC you already have then pay yourself back, with interest if you must.  Using an asset as collateral to borrow the same type of asset and then pay the lender even more of that asset just seems like the stupidest thing I can think of.

And another thing that causes my brain to hurt: Out of all the reliable, reputable, trustworthy lenders and escrow agents on this forum you choose to deal with marcotheminer?  Have you seen his trust rating?  What the fuck is really going on here?

Why would you reject - it is with escrow. @DadyD I think you weren't clear enough: would you give 0.0018 BTC into escrow?

Why is it any of your concern?
4075  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 04, 2019, 08:08:35 PM
'A class act'?
7 March 2012 Tradehill, at the time the second largest Bitcoin exchange closes down, claiming Dwolla stole its customer funds and threatens to sue. Dwolla demures, suit goes nowhere. Jared Kenna makes secret payments to select users. Partners with Jonathan Ryan Owens (see above) creating 20 Moves, which somehow magically has the capital to start real estate development in San Francisco.

Total loss : 200k BTC (estimate viii)
emphasis mine

I read about that guy yesterday.  The first thing that occurred to me is that he's shorting bitcoin, and wants the price to drop even more before going all in.
4076  Other / Meta / Re: Bumping changes on some boards on: October 04, 2019, 07:52:21 PM
The other thing that I can't quite get my head around is how the weekly post window works. If I post on the thread every day then according to the formula in the OP:

If you haven't posted in a topic in the last 7 days, posting in it adds 1% of your base bump power to the topic's bump score. Deleted posts count against the 7-day limit, but not the topic's bump score.

it would seem that only the first post will bump it, since every subsequent post that is still in the 36-hour window will have up to 6 previous posts in the 7-day window... so no bump?

That's the way I interpret it, so if you really don't want to bump the thread you can still feel comfortable posting in it without affecting it's bump score for 7 days.  Deleting your post and posting again won't add anything to the threads bump score.  Since posts are always fixed at 1% of base bumping power it wouldn't help to wait until you've used up your bumping quota for the month.
4077  Other / Meta / Re: [Poll] How do you choose Trust List inclusions? on: October 04, 2019, 07:29:49 PM
I didn't select the "Accurate negative reviews, imo it should just be accurate feedback in general not just negatives. This means willing to give neutrals, instead of positive or negative and the ability to apply it in a manner that I agree with.
A good metric that I keep forgetting and was pointed out to me is also their Flag support, or objection.

You make good points, but by selecting the "Accurate negative reviews" doesn't necessarily exclude those who leave accurate positive or neutral reviews.  Accurate support of flags is also a good metric, I'm glad you brought that up.
4078  Other / Meta / Re: Wall of fame / shame. Shit posts so bad that they are actually funny on: October 04, 2019, 07:05:24 PM
Not a forum post, but certainly worthy of the Wall of Shame!

This guy claims that his iPhone and GayCoin turned him gay, and now he's suing Apple.

"Now I have a boyfriend and I do not know how to explain this to my parents."

Hello Yahoo,
Please take a look at this user: badykvik.  13 shitposts in the last 2 hours.
4080  Other / Meta / Re: [Poll] How do you choose Trust List inclusions? on: October 04, 2019, 06:51:16 PM
I think I've said it about 300 times already but I'm basically including (or excluding) people whose ratings I want to see (or not) in my trust network. If I had to choose from your list I think it would be mostly these reasons:

Quote
Someone who demonstrates good judgement of character
Someone who's historically demonstrated trustworthy behavior
Some who leaves accurate negative reviews (scam-buster)

I agree, and support this approach.

I certainly don't consider campaign spam or merits or anything of the sort. I'm kinda worried how you even came up with some of those Smiley

I added options that I would not consider, but I suspect others may.  I wanted to give others the opportunity to answer in a way that reflects their approach to trust-list inclusions.

Edited my answer from the other thread for clarity, and to avoid plagiarizing myself.
