No, BTC, and cryptocoin ponzis are not illegal. Simply because they are not currencies. They are still better btw. than the dice game, which is totally obscure.

Well, I don't think that BTC will loose more of its value. I think that around $400 it's going to hit the bottom, but generally the tendency should be reversed and bitcoin should get high again.

I am sure that by the end of 2014 will be at least 2-3.000 USD/BTC.

Well, I haven't buyd this account, tell you the truth never would do such thing (nor would I sell my account for no amount of coins/fiat).

The difference is that in my case (or a full member's case), you can be sure that rules are kept 'til every letter of them. My Ponzi also comes with two new, and interesting features, which will cut the losses of the last depositors anyway:

Let's take as example the DOGE thread (because the BTC is at the first round, and has only a few number of deposits). The current guarentee level is 31.250 DOGE (out of the maximal level of 150.000 DOGE). This means that from the deposits so far already 31.250 were accumulated in the guarantee fund, and in case the payouts would stop this amount of money will be distributed between unpaid players.

Now, let's play a bit with your imagination: if there will be more and more deposits this fund will increase. How it would look the DOGE thread if the guarantee fund would be 150.000 DOGE now? Obviously deposits would be 100% guaranteed.
I introduced this feature not only to cut losses, but also because if the guarantee fund gets to a decent level, payouts will stop hardly...

2. Second interesting feature is that once the guarantee fund gets to 60% of the maximum (in the DOGE example 90.000 DOGE), the last person who makes a deposit will get 200% back his deposit.

3. Thanks to the login systems, deposits and withdrawals are picked up 100% correctly, furthermore you can make ANY NUMBER of CONSECUTIVE deposits even before they show up, because system will handle them just fine.

So, as you can see they are some differences compared to other ponzis (plus is fully automated, clear rules, etc.)

And trust me, a person who gets to bitcointalk.org to get some info, and decide whether to invest or no, and actually starts to read this thread as the most popular one, and dedicated to discussion about the price, etc. and starts to read a zoology treaty will consider all this a big joke.
Do you think if an investor would have some interest in the stock market, on a specific company, and when trying to get more information about his potential investment would start to read all this rubbish, will NEVER invest. Some computer geeks who think they are business men, or who never actually leave their rooms, are being "smart" here... in a business you need to be serious first of all, and bulls and bears have nothing to do with Bitcoins as an investment.

The other problem is that altcoins are falling down. They were the ticket for late investors to adopt Bitcoin. So, there is a very very strong relationship between those and BTC. I always told, the minute altcoins will die, BTC will too. Simply because nobody is going to pay hard cash at this prices for something where the "insiders" are talking about bears and bulls, instead of serious matters in a serious language.
