This is a very polite way to say "why the fuck is everything broken right now??" by the way.
LOL, not quite what I was going for. Just something to help my coding through the future changes.

even if I suck at calculator.
it was happening.
I was being charged 1.3% each trade.
Yeah, I really believe you now. Especially since you've such a great grasp of mathematics and how mt gox takes commission.

|
|
Well I don't trust his calculations after seeing that. I even pointed out his mistake and he stuck to it.

Yes,
place a sell for 25 BTC
you sell
25BTC plus (1.3%) = 25.01300 sold.
you place a buy for 25 BTC
you buy
25BTC minus (1.3%) = 24.98700 bought.
had this happening all over my logbook during the weekend.
That isn't even 1.3%. What are you smoking? 1.3% of 25 is .325, not .013. If you are going to troll something random, at least get the math right. Looks like you were only being charged .052%, awesome. That's 12.5 times less then you are supposed to be. Not to mention when you sell, the .65% is taken out of your new USD, not added to the bitcoins you sell. I'm going to go out on a limb and say you've never sold on mt gox.

Didn't japan just launch a computer that can do a quadrillion flops/sec?
No they didn't. They launched a computed with the power of about 7% of the entire bitcoin network. No need to worry.

BTW, this could be turned into a potential (but difficult to pull off) attack: get a large mining capacity, make the difficulty go up, then, all of a sudden, stop mining.
If they could increase the difficulty that much, we've got bigger problems. Namely that they have control of the network.

Why not just ban instead of labeling 'scammer'?
This.... I don't get it. This..... Because then he just makes another account.

It looks like they are being DDoS'ed. It seems like MagicTux is not aware yet. It will be morning in Japan very soon, I'm sure he'll sort it out then.

Ok, only usernames that start with A-E try for the next few hours, after that F-J.
|
|
|
Correct. I can't just run off with it now, sell it or anything like that. If the coins are actually "stolen" and it's even possible for them to be considered "stolen" in a case like this, they're being held by an uninterested third party right now. I want everyone to move past this point so we can figure out what really happened in the much larger picture. Whose account actually was compromised and why, how we are going to proceed, etc.
All said and done this seems a good move. I applaud you.

Great, remember I'm a strong supporter. Why did they intentionally set-up a system that will keep us waiting, worrying, fighting, and debating for at least 3 more days?
Because they are having a hard time setting up a system that doesn't.Seriously, you were one of the few voices of reason on the forum, what happened. Don't go crazy on me.

Why not return them? They are just going to be subtracted from your mt gox balance anyway. Or did you not have that much before the hackcrash?
Why should he, they are rightfully his The trades are being rolled back, but withdrawals and deposits aren't. He withdrew 600+, it will be subtracted from his balance.

I play poker at betco.in. The site is still in development, and the user base is still growing, but I have high hopes for it.

The large mass of coins mt gox has is kept offline. They only moved them to be extra safe. They have no need to "move them back".
|
|

It's trivial to add a foreign language to a password library isn't it?
Yes, very trivial.
|
|
|
Site seems to be down. Is this just regular volume or is it being DDoS'ed?
|
|
|
Back when the site had that green background, there was a register/login button in the top right hand corner. I madenone so I wouldn't have to go through claims.
Oh, that isn't for mt gox, just their support site.
