The most probable cause for the dumps are people who bought when BW made his announcement, expecting a pump. They are now panic selling as UNO didn't move as high as they expected ("only" +30% or so).

Another possible reason: there was a lot of Wolong-taunting around the announcement. Maybe he or some of his associates still got some UNO left and dump out of spite. Maybe its a new whale that isn't done accumulating, who knows.

There's definitely a lot more sell pressure now than there was before. My low buy orders get hit a lot more often compared to before the announcement.

If I understood Bryce Weiner's tweets correctly, the previous UNO devs (or should we call them Wolong collaborators) took some ... errrr "liberties" with the code and reduced block times. I believe that's why the last halving was sooner than originally expected. Bryce and Blazr2 are going to restore the original time in their new release, but I don't expect that to happen before block 408,000.

Soon UNO is going to be even harder to get.

I think it's a great idea. Karmashares just got itself an Entertainment Division!

I'd be happy to donate a million Karma to a fund to distribute the coins from. Generating income should not be the goal of the first app IMO. It needs to be as widely spread as possible and get Karma into people's hands and minds.

If you need some help give me a shout, I've worked on a few apps/games before and got a background in 3D graphics. I don't have terribly much time, but I know that often its the little things that help completing a project. God knows I have a dozen or so unfinished projects lying around myself, because I can't seem to finish the last 20% of work, LOL.

OK, someone really is in the mood of dumping UNO today. Back at .004 so soon? Didn't expect that.

Thanks man. Haven't really been rolling the drums about putting it up yet, because it's not finished. But it sure is good to finally have a page we (currently meaning FallingKnife and I) maintain ourselves and are able to change whenever something needs to be fixed/updated etc. Still working on a few surprises for the site, but right now I'm spending time with friends and family, so it will take a few days longer longer.

DigiShield, interesting. Anybody here got some insights on that? I heard good things about it vs. KGW for difficulty adjustments - but does it also offer protection from timewarp attacks?

I'd agree with most other altcoins, but Karma is one of the few where I think you're wrong.

UNO needs to be traded to stay relevant Benefactor, at least until there are other uses for it. But unlike other coins UNO is not made for being a currency. It is a store of value, a rare and desirable commodity.

Personally I hold about 80% of my UNO for long-term storage. The rest is being traded:
#1 in order to keep the markets liquid and
#2 because sometimes you can turn 10 into 15 UNO, or 20 into 50 if you're lucky and catch one of those desperate "GOGOGO" pump and dumps

Announcements of announcements are the new hype, lol. "Yo we're going to have a MAJOR announcements on Friday, stay tuned" - then on friday "we're announcing we're working on something BIG, unfortunatelly we cannot disclose anything - but it will be revolutionary!" - then a week later the dev dumps his premine and is gone.

In this case its a bit different though. Bryce Weiner is not the UNO dev, and there is no premine. I know he has a bunch of UNO, he said himself he's a "1%er" - someone who holds >1% of UNO. But he has so often referred to UNO as one of his favourite coins, I highly doubt he has anything on his mind that could be harmfull to UNO.

What events are you referring to that are happening in private? Since when is it unusual to use emails and PMs to communicate with specific individuals? AFAIK FallingKnife has been in touch with a few exchanges and potential new devs, such talks NEVER take place in public. And if the *potential* new devs/exchange request him not to mention their name until things are certain, that is completely normal too IMO.

I for my part have been exchanging PMs with him, because I didn't want to spam this thread with boring stuff about webhosting, html and other website related things. It is not a secret that we are working on a new website. You can read up on it right in this thread. We just don't have anything to show yet, so we keep quiet until the day we have. Which will be soon BTW.

Hmm, so far my prediction isn't that far off. We did see a couple of big buys (some pushing price close to .007), followed by a prolongued stay near the .004 mark. Now we're on the way up again, trading in the .0055 - .006 range.

Honestly, I didn't expect we'd get here this soon. I was expecting the dip to last longer and the increase to take longer. We'll see where this heads from here on out, but for now I'm quite pleased with how things are developing.

My only regret is not buying more UNO during the dip. But I simply had almost no BTC at the time.

You overestimate my purchasing power, lol. But I have a gut feeling there are a few people out there right now that are bullish about Karma and want to get a piece of the pie. So I was pretty confident they'll take that bait. And they did - yumm.

While I am not following the markets as closely as CatKiwi, I do pay close attention to the trends and timing of bigger buys/sells. I don't know who the big market players/manipulators are, but by now it is obvious they are here and watching. None of the recent price actions are random, or small buyers/sellers. But there are apparently conflicts of interest.

The people that are pumping the price are new to Karma, they probably don't have huge amount of coins yet and still accumulating. They have also been - relatively - smart and coordinated in their moves. While they did cause almost 50% price increase, they did distribute their buys over multiple exchanges and a longer period of time (at least several hours a day over multiple days).
The dumper(s?) on the other hand are either people with massive mining powers dumping their mined coins coins (unlikely though, some of these dumps are far too large to be "new" coins), or someone that already owns an enormous amount of Karma and either wants to "get out", or has "other" plans for this coin (plans that don't involve a premature price increase). His/her dumps are almost always done in a very short amount of time and often on only one exchange. Which leads me to believe it is a single big whale...

A Karma rich-list would rock, does one already exist?

To the guy/gal(s) walling at 49 - that looks damn tasty, I have serious doubts that wall is going to survive the day.
