It's like having a bunch of kids in the back of the car. "Are we there yet? Are we there yet?"  Grin
LOL.  Grin

To be fair, we've been waiting for a couple of weeks now, which is a very long time in crypto. Kids - at least mine - often start nagging before you even start the engine. Wink
322  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Update Now to 0.9.5 wallet on: July 09, 2014, 10:08:31 PM
Does it really take 200 confirmations to deposit Un onto Mintpal?  Shocked
I've seen that for several coins lately. A precautionary measure against double-spend attacks I guess.
323  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / [ANN][KARM] Karma /₭/ NEW! X11 + Time Warp + More (pg.140) SIDECHAIN+ (pg. 143) on: July 08, 2014, 11:43:12 PM
This begins to feel like groundhog day. Karma has now been through its like 3rd or 4th "bubble" and every time its the same. "OMG we've gone down to 3-4 satoshi"? 4 weeks ago everybody here would have been THRILLED to be at 3-4 satoshi. Even if we do go down to the 2-3 range Karma's still up month on month. I said it before: what goes up must come down. It is completely normal for the market to retract after such a big increase.

With all the stuff that's in the pipeline for Karma and Karmashares you can be certain this will not the last time people start panic buying Karma. Just relax, place a few low buy orders and hope they hit. Load up for the future, a few months from now we'll laugh at this price.

You'd think with half of the new coins coming out being complete organized pump and dump scams people would smarten up and start putting their BTC in established coins with potential.

hint hint -> Karma

Anyone else notice the unobtanium daemon has become quite cpu hungry lately?

On one of my servers I just noticed CPU usage for unobtaniumd does not go below 50% (actually runs between 50% - 80% all the time), most other coins on the same server sitting at a couple of percent maximum most of the time (POS coins tend to spike in CPU usage for a few seconds but otherwise also sit very low usually).
Excuse me if this doesn't help you, I haven't run the daemon independently yet. But isn't the wallet just a UI built on top of the daemon? Anyway, for what its worth: the Windows 0.9.5 wallet uses 0.0% of CPU pretty much all the time. The only spikes are during startup and when I make a transaction, but it always quickly settles back down to 0.0%.

I guess you run your own linux build? Anyone else here can confirm this?

At least from the regular client perpective everything looks great now. I haven't seen the wrong (longer) chain show up in my client for a while now (block 455301). Syncs up right away and works like a charm.

I was there at the end of the first age of Karmacoin. I saw buywalls the size of small towns crumble and then the earth opened up and swallowed Karmacoin. People told stories about how it had fallen into the purgatory of the *~+ Litecoin markets +~* and would never return. Well lets say those stories turned out to be just that - stories. Reborn as Karma, this is the dawn of the third age. Lets make this the one that counts and will be remembered.

There is no explanation for such events, dumper's gonna dump. Market psychology. What goes up must come down. Probably someone afraid to miss profit if he waits longer. Hopefully the new owners will have more respect for the coins they purchased. In a few months they'll be sorry. Now lets get back growing this coin... Smiley

Guys, there's a new feature on the Chainz Blockexplorer, called Largest Wallets. Quote: "It relies on various forms of taint analysis to aggregate multiple addresses in the same wallet". Still experimental but highly interesting if true:
http://chainz.cryptoid.info/uno/#!wallets

The numbers seem to match with the 40k+ dump "bug" some members caught on screen, so this confirms it: ~25% of all Uno is stored on Cryptsy. Good sign for Cryptsy as it seems to show confidence by its users they won't get hacked. But if that were to happen Uno and plenty other coins would probably be screwed...

I advise anyone to only store on exchanges what you want to trade in the immediate future. Store everything else on your own computer or even offline. You're doing nobody a favour by storing thousands of coins in an exchange wallet. Remember CoinEx!

Is there any other billion coin like doge, which has price above 10 satoshi?

There are half a dozen of them:

http://coinmarketcap.com/

I don`t think so. Except DOGE, only NAS coin have a billion coins distribution, above 10 satoshi current price and some sort of ongoing GPU mining.
The question was price above 10 sat and a billion coins+. Several coins fit that bill:
DOGE, REDD, DGB, NOBL, JPC, DVC, NAS, XRP, QORA and NXT (sort of, its is just a few coins short of 1 billion supply)

Of course many of those have a smaller supply than Karma (most <10 billion) and/or are PoS. But that wasn't the question. Wink

Blazr2 thank you for all your hard work, energy and time you invest in this project. You're a good guy and one of the best devs - your commitement to the coin will make it a success. The Uno-creation was a masterpiece. This will be a big one in the not so distant future.

FK you're one likeable whale Wink

I am on vacation for a while, guys.

Love this community. Keep going like that. Un for the win.
Have agreat vacation, we love you too. Smiley

Yes, we are still here. Fernand0x is coming back next week, and from there we should start making some noise in cryptos.
how many people in your team? why your partner leave? i need your progress! i dont trust you
Please stay nice everybody. No reason to get hostile. It was announced here days in advance that Fernand0x is marrying and therefore going to be gone a few weeks (honeymoon), he hasn't left the team.

I don't particularly like the lack of news either, but it was to be expected, without active development for two weeks there's just not much to announce. I expect a pick up in activity in interest next week, when development gets rolling again.

Golden rule: buy coins when nobody is talking about them, 'cause that's when they are the cheapest.

Karmashares LLC News and Updates - July 2, 2014
http://karmashares.com/forums/index.php?topic=435.msg2108#msg2108

Wow.  Shocked Is The Force talking to you? How is this possible? So many great ideas managed in the most professional manner. I have pretty long corporate experience, but never saw something like this. You continue to amaze us every day. I never saw someone so productive.

+1

I suggest you all read it if you haven't yet  Cool

I read it yesterday night, right after kos posted. Despite all the great news and announcements of the past weeks this is probably the best document yet. IMO you can't read it and not be impressed.

Good to hear progress has already been made on the transition to X11 and other core features, as well as learn more on things like the Karma API, new devlopments for Lill and the organizational structure behind the LLC (including voting). So much has happened in only 2 months!

That being said I do have a problem with the suggested funding of projects through the Karmashares coins. I think it is simply too soon to open that "war chest". Right now there still isn't the volume or stability to liquidate a significant part of those coins without crashing the price. But that isn't the only problem I see. It would also break the equilibrium of the Karmashares system. Currently it is based on the assumption that there will be a "Grand Total Shares 225,014,425". But once the exchanged coins re-enter the market that changes and theoretically the number of shares has no limit, as coins can be exchanged over and over again.
Unfortunatelly I do not have a better solution for funding the required expenses, other than maybe getting access to some VC. How do others feel about this point?
334  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: UNO Brainwallet on: July 03, 2014, 09:06:05 AM
Greetings,

A brainwallet is now available for Unobtanium:

http://cryptap.us/uno/brainwallet

This gives you the ability to store UNO in your mind. You can create a wallet, and build and sign transactions on the "Transactions" tab. Once you have a raw transaction signed you can use a companion service "pushtx" to push the raw signed transaction onto the Unobtanium network:

http://cryptap.us/uno/pushtx

Please note, a brain wallet is only as secure as the pass-phrase used to generate it. Please use strong pass-phrases!

The real feature this provides, though, is the "Transactions" tab. You can now spend UNO directly from your paper or physical wallet without using the UNO client. I would suggest playing with small amounts of UNO doing this until you are comfortable.

All transactions and keys are operated on via client-side javascript, no private keys are transmitted.

Feedback is welcome.
Woah, love all the new services you're putting up for UNO. Fantastic!

hide the champagne, the same 6 Satoshi are here  Undecided
I understand you from a new miner's perspective. But from the view of someone who mined it when block rewards were 10x of today and price was less than 1/10th I can only say give it some time. Karma has achieved truly amazing things. It has turned from a so-so clone coin into one of the most exciting and stable growing coins in the entire altcoin scene. And all of that not because of hyping and copying the latest fad-features. But (1) by organically growing a great community, (2) exploring new services/usecases for the coin and creating the perpective for long lasting value and returns with Karmashares.

And you know what? Unlike the 70+ coins that copied Blackcoin's PoW/PoS + multipool aproach, the recent anonymity hype, or other "normal" coin features you can't jsut copy Karmashares. (3) In theory any coin could copy the Proof-of-Coin and LLC idea, but you need the right team, organization, vision and skills to actually make that mean something. And that's where 90% of coins would fall short.

(4) Value has grown like 40x over the past few months and while most profit-taking has already happened before we even returned to the BTC markets, there will always be resistance and after every increase price needs to settle to a new floor, before it can rise further. Karma price has more than doubled since we first talked about this only a few pages back, have some faith and patience my friend. You will be rewarded. Smiley

Great points you emphasized there!

Point 1, If a new Karma curious would look at reddit and karma facebook page they may go :"hmmmmm, too few" Yet that few made the coin overtake many other heavily populated coin communities.

Point 2, A novel coin may attract a fleeting interest like so with PnD's then that's it. late comers are left holding the bag and a dream that somehow it may rise again without basis of hope.

Point 3, Yes anyone can copy what are so far done, but really, it would take a whole lot more to assemble the people behind the scene that made them so.

Point 4, 40X!!!?? This may seem absurd to some. But we have graphs that show it is even an understatement. Try 10 litoshis to 6 satoshis and find what is the ratio.

Our doors are open. Come in anytime. We love to have you here. Bring and receive good Karma.

Actually, it is more than 40x. I have record of deals at 7 litoshi level. So, we are very proud of knowing you and be a little part of this.
Not trying to be a smartass here, but... Smiley

What I did is take the actual conversion rate of LTC to BTC into account. Relative to BTC Karma didn't gain as much, since LTC is now down almost 50%. That plus Karma never really traded at 7 litoshis. It dipped down to 7 ONCE for about 30 minutes. The real floor was 9 litoshis, with regular swings into the 12-15 range. If you combine those two factors then Karma value (in BTC) actually "only" increased ~27x since then (1BTC = 40LTC, 1 Karma = 9 litoshi => 1 Karma = 0,225 satoshi) to now (1 Karma = 6 satoshi).

Sigh, what a downer. So there you have it, guess we'll need a stable rise to 9sat next to make that 40x increase real, who's in?! Wink
337  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Update Now to 0.9.5 wallet on: July 01, 2014, 10:25:12 AM
UNO has the smallest TOP10 control and a sizable green section of investors (the general public control)

UNOs fair distribution ranks it between DRK and POT.  POT appears to be the fairest.

Nice to see if someone has the data, but my guess is UNO is also much better than LTC or BTC.

http://imgur.com/KuRAMvq
side note Vericoin looks very pumpydumpy most held by top100 but nearly all controlled by the top1000 ... not okay for a coin out trading LTC in volume ... XC and Veri look to be faked volume ... A selling to A ... left hand buys from the right hand.

Green = new investors = real market liquidity.  Only brand new very low volume IPO coins should have no green.

That looks good for UNO. It really is a fair coin.

Vericoin really has good devs and a truckload of fresh ideas that are executed well and fast, got to give them credit for that. Then again there are definitely invested parties that have a somewhat questionable reputation.

The problem with Vericoin and many of the newer coins is, that they are distributed/mined in such a short time. This is essentially the Blackcoin model, which is an improvement over IPO-distributions like NXT, but definitely not fair. These coins are very similar to a pyramid scheme, in that profit is mainly for those that get in early, as ALL further distribuition literally occurs through their wallets (staking and selling). Everybody that gets in late has a much higher risk and lower reward.

Many of these coins are identified by whales early on as potential candidates for a small or even major pump. They are then artificially supressed (I am too stupid to distinguish these phases from "normal" decline in a coin, the VRC I sold too cheap before the pump began would be worth 20BTC today - sob) and accumulated early on and quick. Accumulation for a coin with long mining periods like UNO is difficult, for a coin with 1-4 weeks PoW max? Not so much. This way a few people end up holding >50% of the coin supply and can manipulate price pretty much as they wish.

We've got arbitrage of almost 20% between Mintpal and Cryptsy now. So I guess withdrawals there are still not working? Those cheap UNO look to tempting, but I won't transfer any more BTC to Cryptsy after my recent experiences.

edit: I'm also experiencing these weird wallet issues some are describing. The wallet says it is out of sync, despite having the latest block. The debug console shows a total block count of 455373, while current block is 451507 - strange. Any work from the devs on this?
