Damnit.  I didn't want to come over here because it kinda sucks.  But nobody is over at CCTalk.

I'll put the Vampire pic up as soon as I figure out this 90's UI.

Business at hand:

Anyone else want to help try to think through what's going on on Cryptsy?

Cap of 8 bitcoins or so at .0135.

Trading stuck in .012-.013 range.

It was .013-.014 yesterday.

It will be .011-12 tomorrow.

My thought is, let it happen.

Someone who owns at least 8 bitcoins worth is accumulating at low, low prices for a pump?

Is that it?  Thoughts please! Oh great counsel of UNO?  Trading Wizards, of which we've a few?

I am accumulating.  I'm almost at 900 again, down here.  I have several BTC in the clip.

Please punch holes in my theory.  I need to hear alternative perspectives please.

Should we just dry up the buy orders and make him go way down? (Because I'm buying.  I want it way down now.)
Yes this interface is ancient. Cheesy

The market looks supressed, but that's not the whole picture. I was pretty bullish, since the smallish Mintpal dumps were absorbed very well, but then this huge 1.5t dump occurred (to put it into perspective, that's the equivalent of > 100k BTC being sold off in 12 hours). Before that the market was dominated by small but constant buys and we had higher highs and lows in the waves. That upward momentum was crushed by the dumps. Now the market is dominated by sellers, the buy support has been weakened.

Now I think we're going further down, such ashame really. I thought we could maintain > 0.1 for sure this time. Well that battle is not yet over, but we'll need more amunition to hunt the bears down now. Time to enter turtle mode and I feel comfortable buying more at this level again.

Service Announcement - Allcrypt will be going offline at the end of the month:
https://www.allcrypt.com/blog/

Bit of a shame really, but they never had the volume to make much profit (edit: by that I mean for themselves, like for paying bills and stuff), so its understandable. If you have any coins left on there, get them out soon!

Heya

Just FYI that we're merge mining UNO on our multipool: www.xpool.ca and miners have the option to keep their UNO when it gets mined just by entering your UNO address in your user settings.

Feel free to update your list of pools mining UNO.

Cheers!

What coins can Uno be merge mined with, looking at the pool stats now and not even seen any past blocks, just shows idle.

Edit: Why is the windows wallet link broken?

Uno is still syncing. It finished a -reindex then stopped and next start the chain was gone, so going through it once again....

It is merged with all sha256 coins.

Is there a boostrap I can download for the uno blockchain?

2nd time now dl'ing the blockchain only to have uno crash when it's finished and then the blockchain is back to 0 blocks...

Any idea's whats up?

Like I said on the previous page, the merge mining code could very well have ended up in the master branch prematurely. I do not have confirmation on this, but I am pretty sure if the code was ready to launch we would have had official word of it by now.

Please wait for confirmation before using any UNO clients based on the latest Unobtanium Github master. Thanks!

Thanks for the notice, those links got deleted during our short maintenance downtime last week. Will see to it they are restored.

Well, why it is then in master branch?
It should be in separate branch and enabled on testnet somechow.
When it is planned to be working? Any milestones about that?
You are right. Form looking at the Github page it WAS in a "devel" branch until a week ago. I don't know why that changed. Maybe it was just an accidentally branch switch? I made a few stupid git branch errors myself in the past, though luckily only in private projects. Wink

I can't give you any ETA as I don't know any details beyond what was stated here in the thread. Hopefully FK or BW will be able to give us an update about this soon(ish).

Do the merged mining works at all?
Closed my node last night and put MM to another coin, but not found any block by over 12hrs, where it should happen at least 3 times in mean time.
Started back my P2Pool node.
It is posted anywhere, that MM is enabled (since what block) and it is working?
I'm not in touch with BW directly, but I'm pretty sure the MM is NOT ready yet. It is being actively developed, but has not been released. I suggest not building against the master of our Github repository, it has to be considered unstable (this is stated in the readme) until we get official word of a release.

I guess the error here is that the latest MM code has been pushed to the Github master without first making a release/tag of the latest stable client. We now have a Gihub repo without an easy way to build a stable client, which kinda sucks. If you need to build from stable code, Cryptapus has posted a link to his fork of the last stable UNO release here:
https://github.com/cryptapus/Unobtanium

Alternatively the code should be stable up to this commit:
https://github.com/unobtanium-official/Unobtanium/commit/efc1fedc7659685fb3320e90100aa2ad36f52d0c

It would be nice if we could retrospectively tag the previous codebase as a release...

My 9 5 0 is fine at this second
Mine works too. Are there already wallets with the MM code in the wild?
168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Current wallet 0.9.5 on: March 09, 2015, 04:35:04 PM
WTF???
Quote
unobtaniumd
Unobtanium server starting
You need to rebuild the database using -reindex to enable auxpow support.
AUXPOW? Who want to kill coin and adding merged-mining code???
Would you care to elaborate your opinion? We've been having discussions about merged mining for months. The community and devs discussed this at length and came to a consensus that we should go ahead with MM. Why do you think this will hurt the coin?
169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Current wallet 0.9.5 on: March 09, 2015, 08:17:57 AM
Well what have we here. I noticed a huge sell wall yesterday. Seen them in the past, though it was just to scare people. But twice its tonnage has been now dumped on markets and more walls are in place. Someone means business...
Upside: Highest UNO volume in a month, lots of good buy opportunities.
Downside: Seems we have our very own bearwhales, the 7 months + bullrun is taking a prolongued break.

Help!

I am writing an article for Coinwarp, but I don't feel qualified to answer this question:

"
6)Most currencies rely on their mining schedule to reward miners to secure their networks, but unobtanium mining schedule is by definition very tight, how do you keep your network safe from 51% attacks or similar threats?"

This is in no way a complete answer, just the two things that came to my mind first:
1. With ~22% of coins still waiting to be mined I'd say there is still incentive for miners for years to come. The value will have to go up further to support this long term, but I think at least in our minds there's no question this will happen eventually.
2. There's also merged mining with Bitcoin in development, which IIRC should be coming sooner rather than later. This should give our blockchain a significant hashrate increase and secure it against attacks.

UNO markets today:

@dump

Maybe also mintpal-effect still. Probably many factors.
I'd say: Enjoy supply while it lasts.  Wink

I was privately complaining that it was so hard to get buy orders filled the past 2 weeks. This did the job nicely. Smiley
173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Current wallet 0.9.5 on: March 03, 2015, 04:32:30 PM
Today in Rockchain Investigations:
The very last transfer out after yesterday's activity seems to have been to a different wallet. Every transaction before (that I checked) was identified by Chainz as belonging to the same wallet, which is now empty. The last transfer leads here, which seems to be a different wallet.

Conclusion:
Our long term miner/pool most likely moved those coins either to cold storage, or to an exchange. It could explain the sell off, but that's only speculation. If it WAS the cause: we saw a volume of >900 UNO the past 24 hours.
The coins should be mostly spent by now if it was indeed the main source of the dumps.
174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Current wallet 0.9.5 on: March 02, 2015, 04:21:19 PM
Well, I've suddenly got my $UNO from MintPal. Unexpected thing I'm pleased with.
Hey, congratulations! It's good to see people checking in and sharing the joy about recovering lost Uno funds. Big thanks to Ferdous Bhai for restoring honesty to cryptocurrency.
Hang on to them tight! Smiley

In a sick way, MintPal did me a favor by locking up my coins. The Uno I got back were more valuable than the ones I sent them.

Welcome (back) to Unobtanium. I think you will enjoy our turtle power:
175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Abe block explorer removed on: March 02, 2015, 01:56:00 PM
I have to say, I miss the ABE explorer.  Old Abe was the one one best able to reveal wallets that contain thousands of transactions. Maybe it was Abe's basic html interface. Chainz is awesome, but does struggle to present the transactions the further back you go.

There's something odd going on right now on the Uno rockchain at this moment, with lots of coins moving. It's related to address ueC8vzi1F9bCBRane6GAWjHSsqda4f2Kbk  but I can't go back far enough to understand where they are coming from.

The movement seems to be automated. Any ideas?
Not really. Have you tried the Insight explorer? Lots of coins seem to be moving in and out of wallets the very next block, destination is unclear.
Total volume of that particular wallet according to insight explorer is roughly 24k coins, could include the same coins being moved in and out multiple times though. Maybe an exchange juggling around its coins in an automated process, like Cryptsy did last year? Chainz seems to indicate coins are being transferred between different adresses within the same wallet. Though no idea how accurate that information is...

Ah some rain finally. Good thing I brought my umbrella.
177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KARM] Karma / ₭ / X11 on: February 28, 2015, 03:33:00 PM
I'm not entirely up to date on the issue of the lost Mintpal KARMA, but I just received word that the Unobtanium community is currently receiving their lost coins. Ferdous was able to recover those from the old Mintpal servers and is returning them right now. So if the rumors of KARMA also being one of the coins on those servers are true, you should expect good news soon. Good luck everyone!
178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Current wallet 0.9.5 on: February 28, 2015, 03:29:45 PM
Unbelievable how close our estimate was. I think amateurs doesn't do our community justice. Smiley
Really happy this worked out as well as it did. Seems like everyone should see their coins retruned soon. Congrats and a huge heap of thanks for Ferdous. I hope Ryan/Alex gets what he deserves.
179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Current wallet 0.9.5 on: February 27, 2015, 11:53:53 PM
Closing in on 1M marketcap again. Didn't expect that so soon.
Worst part is none of my buy orders got hit. Missed the last dumps due to vacation, now it looks like no sellers are left. Where are the potatoheads when you need them?!
180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Abe block explorer removed on: February 23, 2015, 03:52:12 PM
Greetings!

I have removed the Abe block explorer listed on my site, https://cryptap.us/uno. It had been deprecated for a while.

Please use the insight block explorer listed here as an alternative: http://insight-uno.cryptap.us
Dang I was still using some of those API features for the website. Guess it was overdue to migrate those anyway. Thanks for providing great UNO services!

If you tell me what you were using from Abe, I might be able to tell you exactly what API calls would do the same for insight...
I already ported the requests to use our proxy/cache layer earlier today and am now fetching all data from either chainz or the new insight API. Thanks a lot for the offer though!
