421  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Adults of bitcointalk what are your candid advice to newbies in the forum? on: January 31, 2024, 11:39:49 PM
Nothing really important as we both all know that learning should be the highest priority of entering the forum and not getting rich quick profits. Because it’s undeniable that most newbies these days are not taking it seriously to learn from the forum but instead chose to listen to crypto influencers in the social media and take their decisions when investing or trading in the market, which I think a big mistake.

But they when start losing, that’s the time they decide to focus on the forum again and learn the basics. While committing mistakes are sometimes inevitable, but you can at least avoid it if you stick with the proper learning and training inside the forum, not outside the forum.
422  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can I become a professional trader? on: January 31, 2024, 09:59:12 PM
Making trading as your personal career might be hard and risky to think. Aside that it does not give you consistent amount of income, most likely there will be more losses than gains most particularly if you are still a beginner. But if you manage to overcome all the risks and be successful on them, you can be professional and profitable trader in the long run.

However, I still suggest to make trading as only your side hustle. Find a real job that will give you fixed and consistent profits, while continue trading at your free time so you can still make decent amount of additional income.
423  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: January 31, 2024, 01:00:57 PM
I honestly didn't expect Bulls to lose last night but I must admit I've been underestimate Raptors so big that I had the impression they are one of the worst teams in NBA right now but clearly they are don't and I won't ignore them any longer.

Toronto is a decent team before the trade, but in their last few games, it seems like they have already adjusted. However, going forward, they might continue to be the underdog and will continue to prove that their decision was right. If we look at their last 10 games, they only won 2 out of 10, so that would put them on the definition of a bad team, but winning on the road is huge, this team is very unpredictable now.

Quote
I could also say this about Jazz but this team always had swings between great and bad games...
They are a streaky team, they could have a win streak and a losing streak, but it shows inconsistency why I like some of the key players to be in the trading block.
424  Economy / Gambling / Re: Why they need a license if bitcon is not money? on: January 31, 2024, 11:34:57 AM
And personally, I can't open with a casino that is not regulated, and that doesn't mean that it is because I trust them based on that. But because they deem it fit to do the right thing, and that makes them good ambassadors against the campaign for anti-money laundering. Whether it is a weak licence/regulation or not, I am not bothered, all I know is that they can be accountable too since their details would have been registered as well. This is unlike those that are not registered at all, they can just disappear into thin air untraceable. Such is happening.

That's right, regardless on how bad their regulators are, as long as they are regulated, it's always better than not regulated at all. The only beauty on non regulated casinos is when it's decentralized, but the sad reality is there are only few decentralized casinos now and they aren't as popular as regulated casinos. At the start we are campaigning that crypto should be seperate and should not be regulated, but at the end of the say crypto is still not accepted anywhere and we still rely on fiat in order to spend it on things we want, so that's where the government came in.
425  Other / Off-topic / Re: Before you start gambling, do some research first on: January 30, 2024, 12:24:30 PM
Definitely you need to do some research if you are gambling on skilled based games especially sports betting. However, if you go on slots, research is not necessary as it's a pure based game, you win when you are lucky and you lose when you are not.

What you need to research first is of how to be discipline in gambling, regardless of the game you need that to stay safe from losing more than you can't afford to lose. now, let's focus on sports betting, yes, research on the teams and its stats so you can analyze which side you'll bet on, but that's not all, there's more to that you need to learn as you go along, experience and the right analysis is the key to succeed.
426  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When I'm emotional, I LOSS! on: January 30, 2024, 02:57:17 AM
Hey, guys! Are any of you emotional gamblers who often lose because you can't control what you feel? When you lose, do you tend to double your bets or chase your losses, driven by a pride that can't accept defeat? Do you consider this a problem? If so, has anyone here been able to solve this kind of problem themselves, and if yes, how did you do it?

Not all those who lost and double their bets to chase their losses are carried away by their emotions, some are actually doing it because it is a strategy called martingale. The people who are using such strategy are actually chasing for profit, so they don't have time to chase for losses so they cut to the the chase double their bets and if they win the next bet should be a profit.
Anyways, being emotional in gambling is such a huge problem. You'd tend to be frustrated everytime you lose. I guess the only solution to that is to bring money enough for gambling when you visit to a casino or deposit enough amount in an online casino. Don't go beyond your gambling threshold.

Of course, you can do the martingale strategy but that was pre-plan, however, if you just chase because you are guided by your emotion, then that is wrong as it's not anymore strategic planning.  You can win following your emotion as what you need is an smart idea to gain knowledge doing the right strategy, and it's crucial to be able to implement it during gambling, and that requires discipline, a lot of discipline which you can lean overtime as a gambler.
427  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: January 30, 2024, 02:18:06 AM
[....]But for Klay? Okay, there is nothing he can do with it as it's always been Steph that they're eyeing for.
It's not that there's nothing he could do to change their mind. That would not have been the case if Klay was still playing like his usual self. Steph have done it so why can't he? I don't blame the management for wanting to trade him and let Steph be the last remaining of their Golden era.

I guess the Golden State Warriors are not really serious in letting go of Klay. There might be some testing of the waters as to the trade value of their veteran player, but I don't think they will easily just let another team have Klay. Klay and Steph are more or less the central figures of the team. And if we take a look at the most recent games of Thompson, they are not bad. He's still playing well, usually contributing above 20 points for the team. Paul, Wiggins, and Green could leave anytime though.

No way, maybe if they'll consider the offenses of Draymond Green in the past that might happen, but if they will not and will just look at the factor on how he is playing, they'll see that Draymond is a gem in the team, without him, where are their offense and defense coming?

Maybe CP3 ( injured most of the time), and Wiggins ( inconsistent) can leave, but the big 3 will remain.

I'm sure they could get a good players when these two will be traded as they are paid well, there's still enough time so it's still possible to develop the current warriors and improve their weakness.
428  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I Want To Invest Money From My Inheritance In Bitcoin, But? on: January 27, 2024, 11:56:24 PM
Don't mix family and money. If Bitcoin drops, they'll blame you. If you lose their Bitcoin, they'll blame you.
That would be the most possible way to happen after seeing your investment dropping its price. They will end up blaming you because you never warn them of its possible risks, when in reality you did but they are blinded by greed. Same like they will also blame you if they see you profiting while leaving them not growing their money at all.

There's no way you can win from this type of mindset. The best solution is let them invest but only on the amount that they can afford to lose. Otherwise, they will lose everything they have in just a blink of an eye.
429  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do not use more than 2x leverage on: January 27, 2024, 11:12:13 PM
Investing and trading using leverage may also involve a higher amount of risk hence, it's obviously discouraged most especially for those who are still starting to trade or invest in the market.

But I believe for those who are eager enough to use leverage, then most probably they are also responsible to deal with its associated risk. If they can manage the risk and use leverage wisely, then most likely they're actually determined to use it successfully. With that, there's nothing we can do but to have faith in them that they can really make it in the end.
430  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2 years old kids alone at home for hours, while the father goes gambling on: January 27, 2024, 08:50:39 PM
Great father. LOL!

I am a parent and I would never do that. Although I gamble but I always prioritize the welfare of my family especially my children. And to think they are only 2 years old without a parent, that's a big crime as anything could happen. This father who got arrested because of this should be put in jail for an extended amount of time for him to learn from his mistakes and reflect from his gambling addiction as well.

I'm pretty sure the government will find a way to take care of this 2 years old twins, so there's nothing to worry now. This man doesn't deserve to be a father at all, at least on the time being when he is still in the state of gambling addiction as we never know what could happen next time around, it could be worse than that, so it has to be prevented from happening.
431  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: January 27, 2024, 08:22:54 PM
Crazy games last night.  Another huge loss from Toronto.  Starting to look more amd more like the Knicks won that OG trade.  Big game on national television today between the Knicks and Heat.  Might be a good playoff preview.  Can't wait to see OG on Jimmy and see him lock him up.  Knicks 11-2 since OG joined quietly beating Minnesota, sixers by 30, Denver by 30+ while holding them to under 90 points.  This is another good test for them looking forward to it.
On paper this looks like another win by the Knicks. However, I believe the Heat will make all necessary adjustment to get this job done so they would stop the bleeding as they are on a 5 losing sterak now. The Heat hasn't been winning games as usual since Jimmy return and Terry Rozier hasn't been playing as expected since he joined the heat. I'm guessing this could be the night for them to make that happen by betting the hot streaking New York Knicks on the road.

I thought this would happen, but I don't see his name on the list playing now, he could be a big help.

Miami Heat's Jaime Jaquez Expected To Return Saturday Against New York Knicks

a litte update.

I just tune in live, and he's (JJJ) playing.

433  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rolando Romero-Isaac Cruz to meet on March 30 in Las Vegas. on: January 27, 2024, 02:43:44 PM
I don't get why Rolly choose to fight  Pitball Cruz, this guy is the real definiton of his name, he doesn't know how to back down, he keeps attacking until his opponent gets tired and will be KO.  Pitball Cruz was maybe the only one that gives Tank Davis a little problem in the fight, although Davis won the fight but he wasn't too convincing as he could not hurt  Pitball Cruz with some solid shots.

Rolly better enjoy his current status as it will not last for long, have he chosen to keep the negotiation effective with Ryan Garcia, it could be 50/50 or he'll be a on a slight disadvantage, but his opponent now, he needs to be prepared for a big war, it's a brawl baby.
434  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Lomachenko vs. Kambosos - May 12 IBF Lightweight Title on: January 27, 2024, 01:53:47 PM

Not surprise seeing that 77.8% of the users voted for that. Well, it will likely happen as Kambosos are not good in playing defense, so he needs to have a solid chin to surive this fight even if he lose.

He is not good at the defense he is offensive and Loma can easily see flaws in an offensive fighter all his fights he has been a defensive fighter he has excellent footwork and is an intelligent fighter, he can adapt to any boxer's style that makes him an extraordinary fighter, he makes great fighter ordinary.
The Haney is a lesson learned for Loma I'm sure he learned a lot here and will box differently by being too technical, Kambosos has problem with technical boxers.

Yes, Kambosos doesn't play the defense game, and just like most of the Australians, like Moloneys and Tsyzu, they are all offensive minded boxers. And sometimes it gets the best out of them, like Kambosos putting a great upset against Teo Lopez that time.

But in this fight, I think even at Loma's age, he can still pull that trigger and go toe to toe with Kambosos and uses his experience and boxing IQ more. Loma though might start slow again just like against Haney and then come on strong in the second half and see the fight extended again to 12 full rounds or Kambosos getting caught by Loma with his volume punches and stop him later in the rounds.

You can also add Horn on the list. He does not play defense as well, he keeps attacking like a bull and played dirty tactic on Pacman that's why he won the championship. These boxers you've mentioned, I believe they fight clean so I like them. however, kambosos although he doesn't bring a boring fight but recently, it seems like he allows himself to get punish in the fight without making an adjustment, so against Loma who is good in making one, I doubt he'll be able to last 12 rounds if he keeps attacking.
435  Economy / Economics / Re: Save while young better than wait on: January 26, 2024, 11:58:51 PM
Be responsible with your finances while you are still capable and able to earn and save. That way, if you do the right thing early, you will see a bright future ahead. But if you procrastinate things and keep waiting for the perfect time, you will see yourself being left behind and regretting.

Although there is no competition in the real world, but it's always an edge if you're on the top of others. Not actually richer or wealthier than them, but being competitive on everything will head you to a productive and progressive life.
436  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: You lose more when you over trade on: January 26, 2024, 09:59:37 PM
There’s no guarantees that the more you trade, the more you will be in profits. Of course, trading should be made at the right timing, that is when the market is suitable to trade and when you are also in the best time to trade. Because there are actually traders who are only forced to trade because they are in need of profits, regardless of their current status quo. With that state, I don’t think trading will be more profitable thinking that you’re not at your best and you don’t have all out focus, and your patience is also compromised.
437  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Has this forum helped you gain experience in bitcoin, share your experience on: January 26, 2024, 09:07:12 PM
Honestly, without this forum, I would never be knowledgeable enough about bitcoin and its crypto space. I remember I was really struggling to understand every term that talks about crypto, and how bitcoin moves its price and why it’s more profitable than any other crypto coins. Now I know the right answer to all of them, and even aware also on how to secure bitcoin in our wallet. Thanks to the forum, and I’m always grateful to all the members regardless of their position as their varied ideas also help me to formulate my own and come up with the right and exact answers to all the doubts in my mind.
438  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: January 26, 2024, 03:35:46 PM
And they loss. Tough luck for Ginebra as they struggled to stop great offense of SMB, the series is now at 2-0. This team is a never say die team, so it's not over yet since SMB still needs to win one game for Ginebra to get eliminated. Game 3 will be this Sunday, that could be the best time for the Ginebra to win since the crowd for sure will be their to support them.
That makes sense, Sunday is the day where they will likely win and I think we can confirm that on the betting odds now. Currently, Ginebra are being listead as -3.5 favorite, they haven't achieve that kind of spread in the last 2 games, the biggest they have was like -2.5 in game 2, and it doesn't move despite people are betting on Ginebra to even the series, so I have a gut feel that they will win game 3 and make the series interesting.

On the 2nd game, Magnolia beat the Phoenix Fuel masters and have already taken the lead in the series at 2-0. The outcome of the game is still a low scoring game, it's almost identical to the first game outcome as it was 82-78 now and 82-79 in the first game.

I don't see a chance Phoenix will even win one game. however, if we are betting, we have to be careful as they have been covering the handicap on the last 2 games.
439  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Older men vs Younger boys in gambling, Which enjoys Gambling for fun the more? on: January 26, 2024, 02:41:50 PM
although I think the topic is subjective because enjoying gambling isn't really based on people's age, but, I am leaning more towards older men, I mean, older men are more likely to be financially stable than their younger counterparts and far more mature and responsible than them. also, from what I have observed from old people from my years of playing bingo, they use this gambling activity to socialize with their friends.
Definitely, older men especially those who have been gambling for years have matured enough already. They know how to manage the risk, and most probably they are just having fun, or if they are serious they have their own approach also. Young men whom mostly are not financially stable, they seem to make bad decisions since they are inexperience, and they are just in the learning process on controlling their emotion.

When you are more matured, you know how to control your emotion, and you won't be aggressive, which is the opposite for young gamblers, at least I know a lot of young gamblers who act like that.
440  Economy / Speculation / Re: Best time to buy BTC NOW? on: January 25, 2024, 11:46:40 PM
I believe this is the best time to buy. While some people are becoming fearful, then chose to be greedy this time and continue to accumulate bitcoin as much as you can. No need to wait for a lower price drop, as we can’t be certain that bitcoin price will continue to dump. However, DCA is the key. Regardless if the next price will be more expensive or cheaper, at least you have made a maximum purchase already while bitcoin price is low.
