so wuts the catch? nothing in life is free.

Google's free and they make billions.

Not had any negative experiences so far. But a lot of new users report higher returns than other pools.

Perhaps email the site admin and ask him the same question?

I've been getting a LOT of connection errors and invalids using this pool lately. Switching both my miners back to bitcoin.lc - will revisit once these issues are fixed.

Everyone should halt mining for the next 2 days now.

Err..we talking a miners strike here  Grin
4248  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does Kevin Day have the 5 mil in bitcoins in his wallet or in his mt gox account on: June 22, 2011, 04:09:13 AM
so 100,000 BTCs?Huh?

on mt gox the TV show, they said only a few bitcoins were lost.

So if I were kevin day I'd just disappear or claim 'my wallet got hacked' hahahah

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding is the transactions aren't completed until they have been 'validated'. IMO this is the whole point of mining..no validation - no release of bitcoins. Because the 'heist' was discovered shortly after it began, there would have been insufficient time to validate the majority of transactions.

I wish they had switched to the new system a few weeks earlier. Smiley

Yea in a way the 'hack' was a good thing. Its forced a lot of changes. I also suspect we will be looking at a completely new site once it comes back up, not just the same old site with a few backend and frontend changes..

4256  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Paying for Help with Motherboard issue ATI CARD PROBLEM on: June 21, 2011, 09:47:50 PM
From the spec sheet, you have:
1 x PCIe 2.0 x16 (single at x16)
1 x PCI Express 2.0 x16 slots (@x4 mode, 2.5GT/s, black slot)

Plain and simple, that second slot is PHYSICALLY a PCI-Ex16 slot, but electrically, it can only ever run at 4x.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but that slot just won't do 16x. Chances are, the Nvidia card is misreporting it.

This ^^

I'm running an asus p8p67 which also has a secondary pci-e 2.0 x 4 slot and both my 6950's hash at the same speed. Nothing to be concerned about.
4257  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So is Mt. Gox getting DDos'd? on: June 21, 2011, 09:40:15 PM
25% chance of ddos. 75% chance of noobs hitting F5.
