4241  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpartanCoin - Cryptocoin for the competitive world. on: March 03, 2016, 02:09:32 PM
Without an attached dev best to take it slow.
Spartan needs 2 seednodes (outside of cryptopia) ... that should keep the project alive for 1 year and then can reevaluate paying to fork a POS.

None the less just a couple $100 invested by crowd funding keeps the project alive.
[so more exchanges and nodes]

sub-related :

Why are the Max coins so floppy?

Of anyone that could pump it to the moon ... has connections to deep pockets ... and all he has to do is give a wink and a nod to some stooge to be his mouth piece and then cleverly reference the coins on his shows.
4243  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH ... I see a problem on: March 03, 2016, 12:11:54 PM
I still think ETH is proving my theory we are more likely to see a handful of crypto assets with huge marketcaps rather than everything settling down with million dollar Bitcoins. Monopolies are not healthy and its good to diversify and bring in new markets & people, it benefits all crypto as a whole.

agree.

There will be 6-8 major volume coin, and BTC holding the center.
And there can be 100s of niche coins.

However, $ETH is due for a huge horrible hangover bear, it never established a 'new' floor it is just hoping to hit the Billion dollar moon.  And as far as I know nobody has a local wallet, all the coins are on exchanges.

TALK of the day
Social FUD/astroturf campaigns are cheap and easy ways to try and control the narrative.

Whenever I see a little too much effort put into a fud post like this, I'm just gonna post a link to this article which explains why they're useful and used profligately throughout the cryptocurrency space. It's done by stakeholders of similar cryptocurrencies in order to protect the value of the one they're locked into, and it's also done by the fiat currency establishment in order to undermine, derail, or distract.

Have fun reading this article by way of my own little boilerplate FUD/astroturf neutralizer.

Leroy Fodor has gone Full-Delusional; StakeMiners is 100% confirmed insolvent!
100 page saga here
defendent fails the quid quo pro test
yes that ye old maxim

as follows;
You give StakeMiners your coins
StakeMiners gives you what?

(after that there's not much more to say)

I was cautious of StakeMiners from the go.  The concept is 90% right, but fails the quid quo pro test.  And still relies on the "Just Trust Us" genesis block.  This is no different than the critical fault of exchanges, Gox and Cryptsy stole in the Millions.

But I have an idea of using TALK as the B for the A and thus quid quo pro is solved.

This product is marketed under the brand “Marlboro M” and will be available for sale through Cannabis  licensed outlets. Serafin Norcik, Philip Morris’ Senior Vice President for marketing said in an interview, “Our company has been high on the idea for marketing cannabis and has been monitoring the market for some time. We have finally made the decision to take the leap and support these states in their right to legalized recreational Cannabis use.”

Prices start at $89 per pack.

[is this for real or a joke?]

re: "What is most wanted but lacking in the crypto world in regards to services?"
No harm in a thought experiment.

re: mobile wallet and paper wallet generator
Sure nice to have.  On the to do list.  I would put more mining pools and more exchanges and more nodes above them.  I have a long project list a few pages back will republish an up date soon. May need to raise a couple $100 to microfund the projects.  So to start I could do $10 for exchange or node.  Here's a dude that does the above http://dev.cryptolife.net/about-us/

4249  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Update to 0.10 Wallet - Merge Mine w/BTC! on: March 01, 2016, 09:07:45 PM
Anyone can still solo mine UNO. That has never changed.

And would you feel more at easy being the #3 POW Coin pulling under 20TH/s?

Example
Network Hashrate: 14.45 TH/s
vs.
Network Hashrate: 1,093.02 PH/s

51% attack needs only 0.002.PH/s out of the 1000 PH/s to target it.

UNO is at least protected in that at least x100 more hash is required to attack.

Yes, the more MM pools competing the better.
Yes, small MH/s solo miners will and still compete for the blocks.

And have any sizable POW networks been victims of a malicious 51% attack yet?

Thanks

Here are the details of the Quark > MUE coinswap program

There are several stages to the coin swap program, offering the early adopters the chance to get the very best rates, however, there are great offers available for all takers of this exchange programme.

There are benefits to both projects.
My main aim is to attract you to the MUE community.
Help it to become everything you wanted Quark to be.

The benefits to the Quark community are that this may stimulate buying activity for others looking to buy Quark to obtain the high exchange rated MUE swap, increasing the Quark price!
So be quick to get involved Smiley

I do have every intention of gradually selling into any increase trading activity in Quark to generate revenue to then push straight into buying MUE, subsequently pushing that price up.  IF no increase in Quark trading activity, the coins will be held.

I really do believe this is a win win for both projects.

Stage 1
10,000 Quark per user maximum, no minimum.
This is the highest exchange rate offering fantastic value for your QRK
50,000 QRK at 1500 sats
1,500,000 MUE total
300,000 MUE/10,000 Quark

Stage 2
First come first served on the below
20,000 QRK at 1250 sats
500,000 MUE total
250,000 MUE/10,000 Quark

Stage 3
40,000 QRK at 1000 sats
800,000 MUE total
200,000 MUE/10,000 Quark

Stage 4
100,000 QRK at 750 sats
1,500,000 MUE total
150,000 MUE/10,000 Quark

Stage 5
100,000 QRK at 500 sats
1,000,000 MUE total
100,000 MUE/10,000 Quark

5.3 Million MUE total available for exchange (0ver 6% of total MUE supply!)
MUE price is assumed to be 50 sats

IMO
the blue light bulb is still the most icon-o-graphic  => favicon, icon
the orange circuit chip takes the brand to another level  =>  homepage/billboard, background, pattern & style (organic circuit board elements)
the coin in a coin rendered in 3-D animation yet another step up => wow effect center piece

they all work
but serve at different points
+OC

the icon (blue light bulb)  => Wink  <= has to be identifiable @ the smallest pixel range possible => it attracts attention to SMC
the orange circuit chip => establishes the theme (identity) once attention is paid to SMC, aka research/inspection
the spinning coin in a coin  => impress, wonderful, amaze, prestige

Yes it works.  But there are a number of coins listed that you can not withdraw, okay that happens, but there is no way to get that info unless you test deposit/withdraws.

Point Missed.

ASIC is about the entire landscape of ASIC tech.

Down too small time SHA 256 and Scrypt networks ... not just the top tier BTC and LTC.  Also very much about merge mine tech.

Destiny.

Reality is in your face.  High tech controls the ecology, but for $20 you can have a stick that mines at efficiency.  That is what ASIC at its roots is about.  BTC can centralize but decentralized communities can continuously spring up from the same tech.
