4321  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Just Had Its Biggest Drop in a Month on: October 18, 2017, 03:18:50 PM
haha, what the hell is that title Cheesy

not so long ago price went down 40% before people called it "biggest drop" and start panicking what will happen next.
this may not be the end of this drop but C'mon a 5% drop is considered as daily fluctuations not even a "drop" to start a topic and certainly not something they write an article about!
4322  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is falling, But don't worry! on: October 18, 2017, 03:08:35 PM
i can't help but worry.
i can see the price being lower and i can't sleep because i should get my hands on some fiat to dump as soon as possible and convert that green crap to bitcoin while the market is giving a discount. it is the Autumn sale (TM)
4323  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Exchange Bittrex began to block accounts!!! on: October 17, 2017, 09:14:11 AM
i can verify that i to got a notice that i needed to enable enhanced verification before i could withdraw from bittrex.
I immediately exchanged whatever funds i still had with them to LTC and withdrew. I was lucky, cause it seems this worked for me.

I will probably not be using them anymore in the future, since i do not want to send images of myself holding my id and utility bill to a US company.

i just checked and i have the same issue! i am going to do the exact same thing too. i already have most of my funds in LTC but i have to sell some other altcoins there also.

where do you migrate to? i have my eye on cryptopia but it is sadly smaller. poloniex is the same too, they also ask for verification
4324  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dimon will launch blockchain project at JPM after calling Bitcoin stupid on: October 17, 2017, 08:52:24 AM
https://www.c[Suspicious link removed]m/2017/10/16/jpmorgans-dimon-betting-on-blockchain-even-as-he-calls-bitcoin-stupid.html

He says he going to use block chain to speed up international Bank transfers from days to minutes..
Wow.  What a visionary Roll Eyes
Possible, quite possible in fact. IBM has decided to use block chain as well, followed by Oracle if I am not mistaken, this is going to revolutionize the whole world with block chain being used by all most all the sectors, I am very much looking forward to see that happening. The number of frauds will them totally start decreasing once people start to corporate with block chain technology.

a lot of different companies in a lot of different sectors are using blockchain technology that bitcoin introduced to the world. IBM, Microsoft, Banks, and even hospitals are using blockchain technology or at least they are working on a version for the near future.
but none of them have ever bashed bitcoin like this, probably because none of them have ever invested in bitcoin like JP Morgan did.
4325  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Financial Crisis and Safe Havens on: October 16, 2017, 03:43:57 PM
my goal is real estate first before diversifying into other things. i want to own a house even if it means a small one in some place cheap (but decent neighborhood). and i am already building towards that. although it may be soon for your financial state but keep it in mind.

the i believe that precious metals, specially gold will always shine even in possible financial crisis. people know gold, they can buy it anywhere. they always go to it when they want to invest.

as for bitcoin, i won't go all in, but i don't go small either. it has a lot of potential to grow. it has already given me a lot of profit and will surely continue to do so. and it will only grow bigger as more people become aware of it. it is not like gold that people already know and decide whether or not to invest.

as for altcoins, i don't count on them much. they are too weak for my taste to trust my money in them for long.
4326  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Confused about upcoming Bitcoin fork on: October 16, 2017, 03:27:59 PM
Maybe you should try to see on the bgold website, what exchanges already support them. Last time I checked, those two weren't there yet. Not saying they wont list it, but right now, we don't know if they will.

be careful where you check! there are a lot of fake websites out there claiming to be bitcoin gold's website. i saw one the other day which was asking for ICO funds to be paid to a certain address!

the real one is called BTCGPU.org and they just made the website today. and it has no mention of exchanges to trade this.

it is funny how their website says "transparency" and yet there is no mention of the premine!
4327  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Decentralized or centralized exchange? on: October 16, 2017, 03:15:21 PM
of course i (and i am sure everyone else) would love to use "decentralized" exchanges. but there is always a big issue that these decentralized exchanges are not so popular and also they do not offer the same features as the centralized ones.

the biggest downside is the fiat markets. i don't even know how that can work! fiat demands a centralized place to ensure no fraud happens.

but crypto versus crypto trading is much easier to do. although i have yet to see a user friendly and easy to use decentralized exchange that can get a high volume enough for liquidity.
4328  Economy / Speculation / Re: Chart of the Day | Bitcoin's price correcting to $5500 on: October 16, 2017, 03:00:25 PM
i don't think we can call this "correction" "people cashing out", and stuff like that. this price movement that we are currently witnessing looks mostly like an uncertain market to me. where people don't yet know what they are going to do. there are swings up and down to $5700+ and back to below $5500. rinse and repeat.

i think it is going to continue this way through this week too. until it is decided which way to go. maybe by breaking out of some resistances.
4329  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Korea To Tax Bitcoin Use on: October 16, 2017, 02:54:04 PM
if they take the same route as the Japanese government and a couple of others like Australian (IIRC) took, then it is a very good news for bitcoin's future and its adoption.
there is even talk among the parliament members in US to do the same thing.

they first add taxes for trading bitcoin. then in order to do it only once not multiple times, they remove any taxes on bitcoin usage. meaning when you pay with bitcoin (use bitcoin as a currency) you don't have to pay any taxes. and that helps bitcoin's adoption a lot.
as i said a couple of countries have already done that.
4330  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: crypto Currency is making people millionaires all over the world on: October 16, 2017, 02:45:23 PM
no, not all!

what you see is the price going up, but that does not mean people are becoming millionaires because of it.
although many have been and will continue to make profit but there will always also be a lot of others who will always continue to chase their own tails.

we have seen multiple times, people who buy on top then panic sell after things turn a little grey for their taste. like when price went above $4000 the first time, they waited and waited until price was on top and then bought at $4700+ and when the correction began they waited and waited and panic sold at $3500.

the market filled with panic sellers will only have some millionaires who become that because of the panic sellers Wink
4331  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO PURCHASE BITCOIN? on: October 16, 2017, 02:39:14 PM
if it is just investment you are looking for, then buying at any time is a good choice since bitcoin is a very good long term investment. and when you are not a trader, it makes for perfect option to just buy and hold it long term. of course it is always best to buy when prices are lower, in a dip or have a big rally coming.

as a trader, just to buy and sell and make profit, things will be very different. you can use different analysis techniques on the market to come up with the best time to buy and then sell bitcoin. it is very helpful, i admit that but it is not as helpful as you may wish it to be. bitcoin is mostly affected by the news. at least most of the times it is. so you have to have your ear to the ground to listen to what is happening and how they can change things. that is also a type of analysis the market though.
4332  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Laptop or desktop security on: October 16, 2017, 02:33:03 PM
for using bitcoin all you need is private keys and then a way to sign transactions.
private keys are the same everywhere, in bitcoin, bitcoin cash, bitcoin gold, bitcoin xyz,... you can even get one by rolling dice multiple times to have it 100% offline and by hand. not even needing a laptop!

if you want to run a full node (bitcoin core) your biggest concern is the storage or your hard disk as other user mentioned. because blockchain is more than 120 GB last time i checked and it will grow. and usually the laptops have smaller storage specially when you use most of the storage yourself anyways.
4333  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs Jamie Dimon on: October 13, 2017, 04:29:04 PM
Jamie Dimon should better begin mining bitcoin for his own good

why!
he is making a lot of money from trading bitcoin, or at least his associates are. whenever there is an FUD out of his mouth like this (with perfect timing i should add) there is a big dip and another big recover afterwards. the profit of margin trading or even simply buying the bottom is always huge.
4334  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I need help about Bitcoin on: October 13, 2017, 03:54:24 PM
BTC is a little above $5,000 now. Can I still buy it? Is there any chance that it would rise further before the end of the year?

yes and yes.
you can always buy a small amount of bitcoin, you do not have to buy 1 whole bitcoin. you decide from where you want to buy bitcoin. (for example Coinbase) then you deposit whatever amount you feel like it (for example $200) then buy a portion of bitcoin with it (about 0.035BTC).

there is always a chance of more rise. specially in long term.
4335  Economy / Speculation / Re: 5500 Dollar Bubble or fork effect? on: October 13, 2017, 03:48:40 PM
In this year we can see many boubble on bitcoin price..
you should say "I" instead of "we" because you are the one seeing bubbles.!

Quote
this time Bitcoin rise more then 5500 dollar the last week and the Bitcoin value rise like never before...
actually this rise is like a lot of other previous rises. only a small 20% rise with a 8-10% correction.

Quote
The incoming fork look like is good for ethereum too..
this is irrelevant in here!
4336  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Anything faster than 1-minute charts? on: October 13, 2017, 05:52:47 AM
there is no charts faster then 1 minute because there is no point for them to exist. you don't gain any useful information from charts faster than that. even 1 minute is not useful if you ask me!

the market does not even move that fast! there are resistances that keep it from that kind of rise or fall.

if you want something like live prices, or orders in the order books then you need to either look at the orderbook in your browser or subscribe to the sockets of these exchange APIs (bittrex doesn't have it but polo does) and get it live in your bot.
4337  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is attracting the wrong people on: October 13, 2017, 05:30:50 AM
I thought SegWit would be a nice step solution but it's dead, and the SegWit 2X thing is already dead before launched.
you really need to check your facts bro.
SegWit was just activated, nearly nobody is yet using it simply because the new versions of wallets are not yet released and updating will always take time (people don't upgrade on first day of them being released, it may take months). for instance new version Electrum that i am using and is supposed to have SegWit support was not yet released last time i checked.

also nothing about SegWit2x is dead, i don't know why you even say that!

What's next? There are topics about Amazon suddenly accepting BTC, but the people who expect this, haven't understood that Amazon would kill BTC if it accepted it. The network couldn't handle such a huge number of additional transactions.
you are making the wrong assumption that if Amazon were to accept bitcoin in November everyone will rush to spend their bitcoins out of nowhere! something that has not happened in past years despite many shops accepting bitcoin!

Quote
The worst part is that despite all this, BTC's price keeps on rising. That makes me richer, but sad because the people who invest in BTC today, cannot share the enthusiasm and the ideals which made me invest in it in 2013.
2013 was the peak of people who don't care about bitcoin and what it is. it was THE year that everyone was just buying it to get rich and the rest were mining it because it was super profitable with just a PC!
and all of them disappeared and sold their PC as soon as price started coming down from the willy bubble.
4338  Economy / Speculation / Re: The correction is going to be epic, 2025 ~ 1M and other predictions. on: October 13, 2017, 05:23:34 AM
"corrections" are never big or epic or anything, they are always logical and properly sized.
what you see is usually a dump and a lot of FUD and you can't really generalize all of the dumps the say way. each of them are different and happen under very different circumstances.

for example this last one started as a simple correction. price went down from $49xx to $4400-$4500 which was less than a 10% correction and everything was perfectly fine, then the China crap started and price went down to $3800-$4000 and they kept attacking bitcoin. and the JP Morgan "bitcoin is fraud" was the last straw.

none of this 30%+ drop ever happened in 20 minutes though you are confusing bitcoin with a pump and dump altcoin. it took a lot of FUD and a couple of weeks to reach that big a dip!
4339  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China May Reverse Bitcoin Band on: October 13, 2017, 05:12:02 AM
just another misleading title in this board!
China never banned bitcoin! and the article doesn't say it either. they are saying reverse the exchange bans!

and i have to say there is no way in hell to "reverse" this exchange bans.

however what they will do is that they will regulate them more and possibly this time give them proper licenses too in order to start their business anew.
4340  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best place to store bitcoins during the forks on: October 13, 2017, 05:04:08 AM
...is it ok to store btc at freebitco.in during the forks to be safe about your coins. ...

i have not used that site much, but i think they don't allow you to withdraw the fork coins. for example if bitcoin gold happens, they won't allow you to withdraw bitcoin gold, but you can convert it to bitcoin and withdraw bitcoin. and the price is what they set it to be so you may not get the best rate.

that may not be what some people want, they may want to have the freedom of choosing when to sell and at what price.
