5181  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: do you use analysis when play gambling? on: February 27, 2017, 05:48:26 PM
gambling without any analysis has no meaning.
it is not necessary to do it of course, but it actually makes a lot of difference. even in simple pure luck games such as dice, if you analyze the game and start thinking about ways of defeating the house you can improve your results by a lot compared to when you randomly make bets of different sizes and different settings. specially in the long run.
5182  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Community vote for bitcoin code ? on: February 27, 2017, 05:32:19 PM
It's about reaching consensus between all actors:

1) Node runners
2) Miners
3) Merchants
4) Wallet developers

that's basically it as far as I can tell.

So right now he situation is, 65%+ of nodes are pro segwit, we got a ton of merchants and wallet developers being pro-segwit, but only 25% of miners are signaling for segwit activation, so we are looking at a situation were the majority of actors except miners want segwit, so we will see of miners finally start collaborating and signal for it to activate it.

Where did you get that number?

there are sites that list these things such as https://coin.dance/nodes and i believe 21.co had a section for nodes too.
and according to coin.dance (first link) 82% of the nodes are signalling segwit (running bitcoin core) edit: seems like i was missing the version part.

that is unless i am missing something about the version of the clients since coin.dance says nothing about version of the clients these nodes run.
5183  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Community vote for bitcoin code ? on: February 27, 2017, 05:13:48 PM
I didn't start on the early days so I'm not sure really sure how things were before, he miners had the ability to do stuff just like now, being able to approve changes on the bitcoin core code?

the miners were users. you could use your own PC to mine bitcoin with your CPU or i think GPU later and then ASIC miners came and then difficulty grew and after some years the farms appeared and users mining with their PC died.

also your question made me think of another important questions:
How many of the users of the community have enough understanding of bitcoin to be even deciding these things?
5184  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you estimate the value increase of bitcoin? on: February 27, 2017, 05:03:00 PM
There will be no 100% sure way to predict the price, because bitcoin price is depends on market, in some big event where a lot of people spending bitcoin, you will see the increasing price like Christmas, other than that there is no certain way to know whether the price is going to go up or down, the chart maybe can help you to predict but not 100% accurate
Yes, charts kind of technical analysis tools are only the reliable ways to predict the value increase of bitcoins.

Not just bitcoin trading, everywhere we can use technical analysis to predict almost 80% accurately and interestingly we can predict well in advance. Candlestick pattern recognition and moving averages are few accurate technical analysis tools and I am using them for my bitcoin trading price estimations and I making decent profits.

Yes, I use technical analysis sometimes but to be honest, I am a big fan of fundamentals. I am less trader and more investors so I usually refer to the fundamentals as investments are usually for the long period. Technical analysis gives good results for trading for the short term.

i am also more of a fan towards fundamental analysis, and i do it too. and also i believe that technical analysis is far less accurate and you can never rely on it for your speculation. you always have to mix it with so many other stuff you get from different sources. if you rely on your analysis alone, you will soon find yourself losing and making bad speculations.
5185  Economy / Economics / Re: Would a global disaster increase or decrease the Bitcoin value ? on: February 27, 2017, 04:54:24 PM
I feel that it will increase the number of bitcoin, because in case of a disaster, it is very difficult to conduct transactions. so, the internet will be a shortcut to provide aid, in the form of donations, and bitcoin transaction will be a tool that is used. it makes an increase in the number of the bitcoin.

in case of disaster such that is global for example a big world war, you donate blankets and canned food, nobody wants money and surely nobody is behind a computer accepting bitcoin donations.
5186  Economy / Speculation / Re: I think bull run coming soon on: February 27, 2017, 04:48:04 PM
At the moment I see no big movement upwards in the near future anymore.
During the last months the price has already went up very far.
Now a lot of people are afraid that a bubble might develope. But since there is no sign the price might go down, they do not sell either.
I suspect the price to stay constant on this level now for a while.

by a lot of people you must mean "you" and some of the topics you read which are pure "FUD". nobody else is thinking about a "bubble" because there is none.
you should know that there is big difference between a rally rise and a bubble rise and you can always check the supports for that too.
5187  Other / Archival / Re: Earning "free" bitcoins on: February 27, 2017, 04:39:10 PM
If I may say there many ways of earning free bit coin.
But there is very easy ways of it either by gambling or by sports bettings.
For me i rather like bitcoin forum and it is more excellent of earning of bitcoin.

why is it that random people on this board always think they can "earn" bitcoin with gambling? do you even gamble yourself and are you actually making money every time you do?

because it makes no sense to me! i see gamblers all the time who are losing money and that is actually how the house survives!
5188  Economy / Speculation / Re: Get ready to SODL on: February 26, 2017, 05:28:09 PM
Time for another round of profit taking if we hit 1200$.

nope. we are going to see mostly rises until ETF or some days left to ETF then it is time for profit taking, and remember $1200 is not the end and last time i remember $1215.9 as my own high price and if it goes higher than $1200 it will continue going higher since the resistance is smaller too.
5189  Economy / Speculation / Re: I think bull run coming soon on: February 26, 2017, 05:01:42 PM
just stop worrying about the bulls and bears and all the rest of the jungle animals and start accumulating while you can and price is still low. soon we are going to start seeing new price series of price rises, and then the ETF deadline will come and seal the fate for a while.
5190  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which is more profitable, trading with Forex or trading with Crypto Currencies? on: February 26, 2017, 04:30:25 PM
i have voted for trading cryptocurrenceis because i find them more profitable because of the size of their fluctuations. you never see it anywhere else. but i also say that this is mostly a matter of preference. i certainly would never go for Forex trading because all my little experience lies in crypto trading, and i'd be lost over there.
5191  Economy / Economics / Re: bitcoin provide income on line? on: February 26, 2017, 04:24:31 PM
there was "income on line" before bitcoin too. you were just unaware of it. the payment can go through any online payment processor working with fiat or even banks or even physical cheques in the mail!
take a look at advertising networks for example the google adsense. or check the online freelance sites that work with paypal,...
as long as there are people online to work and others to pay, there will be jobs.
5192  Economy / Speculation / Re: Get ready to buy on: February 26, 2017, 04:16:32 PM
i am always ready to buy and sometimes ready to sell. like last days when price was so wild and high Smiley
all the news flying around are just distractions to accumulate right now, when in fact nobody knows what can happen except to speculate.
5193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banks are starting to use blockchains to send bank wires that confirm in minutes on: February 26, 2017, 04:11:03 PM
Banks are starting to use blockchains to send bank wires that confirm in minutes, it's still centralized wires of fiat money that you have to store with a bank if you want to store it digitally but do you think it's good or bad for Bitcoin adoption in the short/medium term ?
Source? but I guess this is old news though, some physical transactions are already confirmed using spinoffs of blockchain tech already

are you really looking for a source of this news!
just search for banks and bitcoin and you will find at least 20 other topics saying the same thing!
5194  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am pretty confident we are the new wealthy elite, gentlemen. on: February 25, 2017, 05:12:58 PM
.there are always some huge dumps all at once on the way up.

That's just another early adopter dumping their bitcoins on the market to sell out to the world of fiat.

watching the market sometimes, this what i love about it. early adopters, whales or whoever else dumps those large amounts at once, means a big chance for all the rest of the world to get more coins in their pockets.

in other words instead of one guy having 10,000BTC we can have a better spread and have 100 guys having 100BTC each. and there is a very limited supply available.

how much other people see this as opportunity is another discussion though.
5195  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is the amount of BTC required for a professional trade? on: February 25, 2017, 05:03:24 PM
mostly a bigger 1 like BTC10 bitcoins or more? because when we are talking about a professional trade in btc we are talking about big money's big investment and big profits that you could get . Most likely that big amount of bitcoin i would suggest

being a professional trader means being good at trading and making less mistakes and more profit. it certainly doesn't mean investing 12000 dollars or large amounts in general although most of them do.
if you are good, you are good with any amount, and you can even go in with 0.1BTC and make that into 10BTC in a short while.
5196  Economy / Speculation / Re: Should I buy my Btc now or wait it dumps a bit ? on: February 25, 2017, 04:40:47 PM
For God sake don't buy now.
When the Chinese exchanges open up again you can expect a massive dump. And i mean MASSIVE. We are looking at 50-70% drop in price.

some small dumps and the duck appears.
Chinese have lost their place in the market, nobody cares about them buy those who are trying too hard to come up with new FUD and fail.
when and if Chinese exchanges open nobody is going to trade there anymore and everyone has already sold their coins waiting for their fiat to reach their banks.
trust is lost. Chinese are currently trading elsewhere.
5197  Economy / Economics / Re: Why You Should Never Sell Your Bitcoins Ever on: February 25, 2017, 04:18:21 PM
I am having a feeling that on March the first bitcoin ETF will be approved by the SEC (perhaps with tight regulations) and then we can bitcoin price sky rocketing to a new level. Bitcoin is at the breakout level to a new All time highs, So holding seems like a more sensible option for now. However we cannot rule out the downside if the ETF is rejected by SEC.

The bitcoin price has already risen. So even if it is approved, the price will not rise a lot.

A lot of the money will flow to bitcoin and it will make the price of bitcoin rise again, but if it is not get approving by us securities and nothing will be happening after 11 march and the price is on the steady way. so this just a rumour hype. and ready for 11 march.

people are getting way to hyped up over nothing and i promise you than at least 80% of bitcoin users do not even know what this is all about and most of them don't even know what ETF is!
that is why i say expect a sudden change because of how people act to these things but don't expect a big change.
and besides ETF's money is already injected and invested in bitcoin long ago.
5198  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is the timeframe to get in BTC in the event of ETF approval on: February 25, 2017, 04:07:22 PM
Haven't you heard of the old trading adage "Buy the rumor sell the news?"   Grin

By the time you hear the news it is usually too late to buy.

haha i wanted to say this Smiley

although you can still say there are lots of others like OP who will start acting after the news so there may be some smaller room for maneuver Wink
5199  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not dead yet but should be. on: February 25, 2017, 04:01:59 PM
the only thing interesting for me here is to find out what OP were thinking to himself when he shared this article! or better yet how in the world he found the most random and the most useless article on the internet about bitcoin. because that needs a talent to find something that is nowhere to be found like search engines!
5200  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ETF -- will it pass? on: February 24, 2017, 04:35:17 PM
Maybe time to keep your bitcoins until we know the result of the ETF, if it is approved, maybe we will see a surge in price

it is always time to keep holding your bitcoins, this is not the end. this ETF is going to come and go, it is only bitcoin that stays Smiley
whether ETF is approved or not, in the long term we will go up, and for those who are not traders holding bitcoin is the best option rather than trying to get involved with the crazy market to sell and buy at bottom.
