4941  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: polo vs. bittrex used price: if... on: April 23, 2017, 03:51:25 PM
and yobit? while i am writing the price on obit is 1265.61880727$.
poloniex is 1315.53231315 USDT.

is this just because obit does not have USDT? They have $ but you can't withdraw to a bank account. just some strange things i never heard off.

OkPay (4%)
Payeer (Free)
AdvCash (3%)
PerfectMoney (2%)

these aren't strange, these are online fiat wallet thingies just like PayPal. you just haven't heard of them. i am using PefectMoney and it is somewhat similar to others but with less adoption!

and BTC price in $ is higher on yobit because nobody trades there!
4942  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Graph of trading volume by Exchange on: April 23, 2017, 03:45:29 PM
the best way is to access their API, if they offer it like Poloniex and get the data to analyze yourself. but this site has the information you are looking for.
you can sort it based on the exchange and/or coin you want.
https://data.bitcoinity.org/

coinmarketcap does't have this
4943  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC up??? on: April 23, 2017, 03:29:43 PM
Bitfinex needs to fix it's bank issue! This is the reason the spread between this exchange and all the others is so high at the moment. For people to get out of Finex they pay a premium for Bitcoin because they can't withdraw fiat.
But imo they will find a solution. However still an uncomfortable situation. Therefore the overall price of Bitcoin is looking really good at the moment.

that is just explaining why bitfinex price is high though. and i have no idea where @Kemarit brought the $1400 from that he says "it is so close" even on bitfinex price is $1330-50
here is to hoping bitfinex fixes the issue faster Smiley

and this rise i believe is mainly the normal rise that were supposed to happen. if you think about it. we were talking about $1300 not long ago, right before the BU SPLIT FUD!
4944  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I have 0.5 BTC how to make money in Investment. on: April 23, 2017, 03:20:32 PM
I have some good option for you. First, try to invest 0.5 in some altcoins which you believe the most. Wait for about 1 or 2 months, I can guarantee that it will be pumped andd the prices will be at least twice as usual. Second, try to save more money then by GPU mining hardware and mine Eth. IT will take only 6 months to ROI haha
I agree with you! altcoins is best for me because BTC It was too expensive to start  profitable with 0.5 BTC

what do you mean "BTC is too expensive"? nobody is forcing you to buy 100BTC or a whole 1 bitcoin. you can buy as much as you can and as small as the place you buy at, allows you.
and to go into altcoins you need to have at least some trading experience, they won't magically give you profit.
4945  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Blockchain.info and Bitcoin transactions on: April 22, 2017, 04:38:17 PM
if you are trying to hide while using bitcoin and charging back paypal, let me tell you right now that is not going to work because nobody will trust you online enough to give you bitcoin (which doesn't have charge back) against your paypal (which can easily be charged back).

also it is against Paypal's ToS to use their services to buy a digital currency (aka bitcoin) and they will close your account and take your money, specially if you charge it back and the other party files a complaint with Papal, informing them of what you did.
4946  Economy / Speculation / Re: Speculation Rule: buy when others are irrationally pessimistic or too cautious on: April 22, 2017, 04:28:11 PM
The iamnotback prediction was pretty accurate on this one, including a correction to 0.0083 (not as low as 0.0075 but there was a correction)

hmm. interesting that i remember his last comment before disappearing said something about him being right and price never dropping again. i distinctly remember that he advised that 0.01035BTC is a good entry point. and as he said this and then disappeared, price tanked hard down to 0.0083BTC! i just hope nobody entered at the "good enter price" he suggested because although that is still profit but it is missing out on a nice big dip.
and that could have led to some stop loss sells leading to big losses!
4947  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Learn Bitcoin Trading in Real-Time? on: April 22, 2017, 04:07:03 PM
i think a couple of bitcoin exchanges had a demo account that you could use with something like 1000BTC in it to test things. go check out Kraken i think they had that.

but in my opinion you don't really need fake/demo account in crypto trading world. the minimum amount required to trade is very small. for example many sites have a minimum of 0.0001-0.0005BTC and that is less than a dollar.
things here are nothing like Forex or Stocks market. you can start with a tiny amount of money and learn things that way.
and remember with real money you gain real experience.
4948  Economy / Speculation / Re: The question is when: Bitcoin at $2000. 2017 or 2018? on: April 22, 2017, 03:52:24 PM
it is impossible to say Smiley
we can only say that it can not happen within a short time like a week or a month!
also we can say that it will happen eventually.

but about when, we need to see how things shape out to be like first. there is always a rise, and with the new adoption every day and with news like Japan, the process surely speeds up.
but also at the same time there are FUD like the recent one about split, or incidents like an exchange getting hacked. these things may not be a killing blow but they surely slow things down.
4949  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 20, 2017, 05:38:53 PM
WHY. ISN'T. STAMP. DUMPING???

This makes no sense.

the bearwhale pockets has a bottom too, it is not endless.
and after multiple days of dumping you either get bored or reach the end of your plans and need to start doing something different since now everybody sees the price difference between bitSTAMP and other places.
4950  Economy / Speculation / Re: for the first time ever, i'm hedging part of my long term position with altcoins on: April 20, 2017, 05:30:40 PM
I would say keep around 75% of your coins in bitocin and then 25% in altcoins.

The 25% of the altcoins should be diversified as well, it shouldn't be just Ethereum, Ripple, or Litecoin.

The problem with having only bitcoin is that you have put all your investments in one basket. You can't count on bitcoin to always perform like it did a month ago. You're still taking risks, and you can reduce your risks of losing by hedging against bitcoin with altcoins.

But the majority of the portfolio should still be bitcoin.

having your eggs in a basket that doesn't break your eggs is better than putting a couple of them on hot air balloons that are going to burst at any moment.
you say 25% i say either don't or if you do, remember to enter only at the bottom and dump the altcoins as soon as they rise. the dumps are as real as the pumps.
4951  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is getting serious ... Total CryptoCurrency Market Cap to $30 billion !! on: April 20, 2017, 05:19:54 PM
stop looking at marketcap, it is completely useless.
instead look at how bitcoin is being adopted and how that is growing day by day. for now the biggest news of these days is Japan and how they have fully adopted bitcoin as a legal currency and they are already on their way to becoming a bitcoin haven!
and soon more countries will follow.
4952  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 20, 2017, 05:13:56 PM
if i didn't already know about bitfinex's current situation, this rise would have been a great one. i mean $1318 Smiley $1326 now

but right now i don't know whether to be happy or anxious!

i wish there was a fast forward button to 6 months to see the $2000 without all the bullshit in the middle Smiley
4953  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Bitfinex is that much more than other sites? on: April 19, 2017, 04:01:01 PM

It had been stated several post before you, but I am also puzzled why people are selling their Bitcoin when USD withdrawal is suspended,  a sane person would rather move out of the site and sell somewhere , where he can withdraw his cash.  Unless Bitfinex have the coins and sold them  at higher price.  Maybe a trap to the buyer to buy premium BTC.  I hope this are not the hacked coins Cheesy
Maybe a sane person (long term investor) wants to benefit from the situation. Long-term investors would think that these issues, which Bitfinex is currently experiencing, would disappear after applying/implementing SegWit, and they could get an easy profit from the panic happening recently on the exchange. It still is a reasonable thinking, in my opinion.

many traders are gamblers, they are gambling on this situation and i think it is safe to say with good odds too. they sell their coins at a higher price and keep the profit on the exchange and buy back when all this is done and back to normal.
i say good odds because it is the bank that is messing with them and bitfinex is allowing withdrawals of crypto.
4954  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We knew the Large Bitcoin Collider was useless, now we know it's also rootkit on: April 19, 2017, 03:36:27 PM
Good point, shows how you can’t trust everything you see even if a lot of people condone it. What strikes me is that in my opinion someone seeing this would look into it and try to check if this is in fact true. I mean especially if you have to pay for the software. Just goes to show you should check everything twice even three times and extra care for anything anyone says is anything online. Stay safe everybody and be careful.

i think this is partly because of a wrong way of thinking about being "open source". many think that automatically means safe. and since projects like this only attract greedy and uneducated people who don't understand the code, nobody goes through the code and things like this go un-noticed until somebody finally does and everything crumbles.
4955  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: How to use bitcoins to keep them safe? on: April 19, 2017, 03:18:46 PM
i believe you are mistaking bitcoin wallets with bitcoin accounts who call themselves wallets.

a bitcoin wallet is what you control, you generate they private keys and you keep them safe and you spend from it. in short everything is done by you.
these wallet examples are bitcoin-core, Armory, Electrum, Multibit,...
you can keep your bitcoin in these for as long as you want and nobody can touch it for the foreseeable future.

a bitcoin account that mistakenly called a bitcoin wallet is just an account you create with a third party like an exchange or a site. and THEY control everything including your private keys and your money.
examples are Coinbase, Xapo and all the exchanges.

when people say don't leave your money/bitcoin in the wallet they mean the later (the accounts) because they can scam you and run away or block your account because you broke their ToS for example if you gamble with bitcoin that you have in coinbase account.
4956  Economy / Economics / Re: Digital assets for "monthly" steady dividends on: April 19, 2017, 03:13:21 PM
i don't know if you read the replies here but i have never heard anybody call what altcoins give as "dividends" there are some POS coins that have something called staking (stacking?) reward which they pay you for running the wallet (keeping it open) and having some balance in it which is a flawed system in my opinion since it is like they want to increase the amount of dump to kill the price and you can see all these coins have low prices.
4957  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Bitfinex is that much more than other sites? on: April 19, 2017, 03:04:41 PM
Once these two issues pass, and more particularly scaling is agreed upon, we can resume moon as normal.
that is easier said that done.
and these 2 are already two big issues dramas in bitcoin community and when they end another one will start just like always!

I'm interested to see what happens with Seg on litecoin to see if that is any indication of what could be in store.
we are all interested to see SegWit on litecoin, particularly because it is copy of bitcoin!
but it seems like we have to wait a long wait! 2 days ago someone (they say it was Wu) directed a big amount of hashrate against SegWit on litecoin and killed the 80% down to 71%!

ETH looks like it's here to stay, along with some of the more privacy based coins.
of course it is. when you have deep pockets supporting it, the pockets deep enough to put multiple huge buy walls as big as 5000BTC to prevent the crash, that means you are here to stay with millions of dollars funding the manipulations. Cool
4958  Economy / Exchanges / Re: OKCoin - bank blocked all their deposits on: April 19, 2017, 02:57:12 PM
I am quite worried about what will be next on bitcoin market. I hope we will not see sudden crash on price, when all this drama about bank wire gonna end..

First, bankwire deposit/withdrawal stopped in bitfinex
Now, Okcoin  Angry

I don't have any coins in any of them, so not worried about losing any bitcoin. What i am worried about is my USDT that i am holding after selling my bitcoins. Right now USDT is not equal to USD  Roll Eyes

you shouldn't have trusted an altcoin which calls itself USDT and doesn't even promise you the equal price or even possibility of exchanging it to back to fiat! (read their TOS)

and yeah sadly this is what happens when you mix bitcoin with centralization of banks and exchanges.
4959  Economy / Speculation / Re: Speculation Rule: buy when others are irrationally pessimistic or too cautious on: April 18, 2017, 04:48:50 PM

 Smiley

Feel the power of the mighty Jihan Wu

meh. i hodl ltc/btc/eth. in a month ill check the prices, win or lose ill be ok with it.

daily checking is not worth the time or stress. yes i a lazy type.

on fully agree on bitcoin since it is a legit investment with a future. but on the other two, meh i can't sleep well if i know my money is in an altcoin specially if that altcoin is eth or ltc but mostly ether at this point.
for all we know in a month eth is forked 2 more times and someone in China has dumped ltc back to 0.004 like last time Smiley
4960  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain Tech goes to Dubai… on: April 18, 2017, 04:40:45 PM
Vitalik Buterin is going to be so fucking rich.

lol, as if he isn't rich enough already. he made a code, then got free coins, millions of it. then in during the first pump to $14 he dumped about a couple of million dollars worth of this coin which he got for creating a very buggy platform and a poorly designed wallet.
