5081  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin holders, are you diversifying in case the fork proves catastrophic on: March 20, 2017, 04:44:56 PM
i prefer staying away in case of a fork. so i will keep all the coins that i have in cold storage and stop thinking about it. probably i am going to come back after things settle down.

although i serious doubt we are going to even see that day.
5082  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: If you have 10 BTC = Approx $10,000, where would you invest for 1% monthly? on: March 20, 2017, 04:36:16 PM
to this day i have not yet seen any investment that can both give you good profit, risk free and also be legit!
it seems like these don't go together.

there was cloudmining a long time ago when there ware some legit sites around, but even then the profit was not high.

i don't mean to disappoint you but you need to do something yourself to make profit, like trading or starting something on your own.
5083  Economy / Speculation / Re: When do you think Bitcoin will reach $1500? on: March 20, 2017, 04:27:04 PM
at this point the $1500 will take a bit longer time, because of the fear that was created in the market this time, people are going to be more cautious and that will make the rise slow down a lot.

i am sure after this downtime period we will see $1150 price again but get stuck behind the $1200 wall and breaking it will take time. but after that, things will be more smooth again.
5084  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you always missed the right time to sell/buy bitcoin? on: March 20, 2017, 04:19:49 PM
to me i may also missed the right time to buy or sell bitcoin. for example in previous time when the price for bitcoin stat falling down from 1250 i decided to sell but then i hold my bitcoin and i do not want to create panic selling.
You should sell your bitcoin when the price start falling from $1250, now you will regret it because bitcoin price only stable around $1050-$1070 at the moment, you were really missed good chance to sell your bitcoin. Assuming you can create "panic selling", are you have big amount of bitcoins?
i think yes i may have lost the right time to buy or sell my bitcoin, I think we are missing opportunities of making money from bitcoin on daily basses because no one cans be so much perfect in this word.
I never thought that the Bitcoin would fall 200$ down within just 2 or 3 days. I was busy last weekend and not checked the BTC price. I thought to sell my coins once the BTC hits 1300$, but I missed the right chance. The BTC price went up to 1280$ just for 10 to 20$ now I lost almost 200$ profit. That is why I don't trust BTC price.

well this is what everyone has been saying "bitcoin is volatile" .
what did you exactly expect, an always rising market? that is impossible. price rises and falls everywhere not just in bitcoin. look at some real markets, some of the old ones like Gold. you'll see. the $200 drop and generally the reason for it being big is that the market is still small the orderbooks aren't really big. the orders placed on them can easily be eaten into by a couple of sales and worst of all is that market is filled with newbies who panic.
5085  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin price is recovering! on: March 20, 2017, 04:12:25 PM
unless bitcoin dies the price will always recover from any kind of drop.

and "dying" means having a horrible and unfixable issue that i can not even think of, because any bug like even in the way signature are generated or in sha256 can be fixed easy.

bitcoin is still the same good thing that is being used and adopted everyday.
5086  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 20, 2017, 04:08:34 PM
this morning i was wondering how many more times this process of "FUD, dump, more FUD, buy back cheap coins, rise" can be repeated and how smaller the swings are going to get!

just some food for thought.
5087  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Is it really safe to use Electrum? on: March 19, 2017, 06:16:56 PM
It can be used for 100 years... I want know myself how private keys transfered? Do they transfered in ecnrypted format? Do no one can intercept while private keys sending to servers?

as i told you, if you want to know yourself you need to know programming (python for the most part) and go through the code.
here is the link: https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum
otherwise i am afraid there is no other way, other than trusting other people's judgement.

of course you can always ask/pay someone whom you know around you to go through the code and check it for you.

It give - transfer keys to the servers, because this is the only way to connect to the blockchain and receive your bitcoins.

this is the only way that "you can think of" as i said above you should read more about basics of how bitcoin works.
5088  Economy / Speculation / Re: Time to buy back up! (again) on: March 19, 2017, 06:10:06 PM
And were off to rise again

haha, it is $1050 again Cheesy
things are so weird these couple of days an i think they will continue being weird for the time being. we may very well see $1200 until tomorrow morning when i wake up Smiley
wait for the best mate, as we see that after falling to 3 digits now its back to 1051$ and as many of us believes that this would go back and rise up even more, we just  needed to wait and hold let those big bag holders to play and after that for sure we will earn from it.

Yeah its better to hold them for next couple of days and see where it reaches and as of now I think this would be a good time to buy bitcoins as price is relatively low and if price goes higher in next few days then it can give us good profits in quick time.

well things are pretty volatile right now and as i said it is pretty weird these days. i am all for holding and enjoying the long term ride upwards but also times like this are too precious and rare to miss when price dives from $1200 to $930 based on nothing but FUD you know you must buy bitcoin even if it means taking a loan Smiley
5089  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [1000 unconfirmed transaction] Spam attack has practically ended for 2 days! on: March 19, 2017, 06:06:06 PM
Today was great, i noticed it at first when i received a payment with a low amount of satoshi/byte and it was confirmed fast in the next block and then i checked blockchain.info and to my surprise it was showing a small number as the number of unconfirmed transactions Smiley

i wonder how long this is going to last?

5091  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Is it really safe to use Electrum? on: March 19, 2017, 04:53:31 PM
- Electrum wasn't created yesterday, it has been around for a couple of years.
- it is open source so you either have to know programming (python mostly) and go through the code and compile it yourself. or trust others who have done it.
- also you can trust many other users who are using the wallet to report in case one of them lost anything because of what you assume.

When users enters private key it must to be send to bitcoin blockchain servers in encrypted format, how i can be sure no one can see them?

i think you are having trouble with the basics of bitcoin.
what you send to the "blockchain servers" which is called a node is your public key and that is safe because there is no way of finding private key from public key.
5092  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SegWit (26.8%) vs Bitcoin Unlimited (32.2%) on: March 18, 2017, 06:25:55 PM
So it looks like segwit has gained a hard 3% since I have last been on the forum. Impressive, with this pace it may be activated by 2050.

last time you were around (and said goodbye to bitcoin Grin) the percentage was about 25-26% so it is about the same and besides the small changes are because it is not "hashing power" it is number of blocks mined. and finding a block is not a fixed thing (depends on luck)

Seriously, why cant just people reach a compromise? What if the chain splits in 2? Nobody would want that.

there are still brainless newbies who want it because they think their money is going to be doubled if we see a split!!!
5093  Economy / Speculation / Re: Nearly $2 billion has been wiped off bitcoin’s value in three days on: March 18, 2017, 06:07:07 PM
Nearly $2 billion has been wiped off bitcoin’s value in three days all because of a fork. FUD

FTFY.
there is no fork, there never was and the possibility of a fork is too small at the moment.

people seriously need to check their facts. it is only 30% of mining power right now and there is no guarantee of it growing and it may never grow just like other XT, Classic, etc.

if doesn't go up it is dead in the water and if by a small chance it goes up and reaches the majority consensus and fork happens properly, there will be no other chain. there will only be one chain. and bitcoin will continue on.
5094  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you explain the Hard Fork on BTC? on: March 18, 2017, 05:50:54 PM
Please note that as of now there is no hard fork planned. There is no majority consensus. This is pure speculation.

it doesn't matter how many times you say it, they never listen!

and it is funny how a "legendary member" pretends not knowing about this and posts about it in "speculation board"!!
5095  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 18, 2017, 05:41:57 PM
today was a good day Smiley
the price fall is always a good day. when i saw the drop i was anxious to buy and when i saw the ~750BTC buy walls being placed i knew where the bottom should be and started buying. haha
5096  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Planned or impulsive gambling? on: March 17, 2017, 04:26:20 PM
Hi guys!
I was always curious if the most of the gamblers have "scheduled" their gambling time or you just go gambling whenever you're in the mood.
What about you? Is there any specific time you gamble? Week(ends) days? Or just randomly spread ?
Let us know Wink

the time, no but the strategy yes.
it is not possible to plan the time actually since it is just a game and i do it whenever i have some spare time and some spare money to waste.
but the strategy is planable, i can plan ahead about what i want to do then i go ahead and set some auto bet and test the "plan" Smiley
5097  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Poloniex lag, an ethical and highly risky problem on: March 17, 2017, 04:14:51 PM
whenever there is a pump going on, specially multiple pumps of multiple big coins with lots of volume, that attracts lots of traders and lots of orders are being executed each second. that means a very heavy load on the server for each request either directly through the site or through their API. and that is why they lag and go down so often.

but also there is always a possibility that they "put the lag there" to prevent some orders going through. possibly some manipulation. although i can not prove it.

but i have seen they fake disabled markets such as ethereum before to prevent its crash. and continue manipulating the price and kept it up. so i wouldn't be surprised if i found out they do way more than that behind the scenes.
5098  Economy / Economics / Re: Investing Bitcoins? on: March 17, 2017, 04:00:22 PM
If you are planning to put it on a investment site then i would say no, don't invest your bitcoin on almost same scheme sites because most of them have ponzi scheme which the earlier investor will get profits.
IMO it's better if you just study about trading and for sure if you understand the market in trading it will be easy for you to earn big amount of bitcoin without taking high risk.

how about create your own "real mining" not only cloudmining.
im sure you will get more benefit from it.

now i spend arround $1500 and earning 0.5-0.8 ethereum perday. it's small earning but "real mining" make you feel more secure.

this is one of the best options but it is not working out for everyone. you need to invest a big amount at first then you have to pay a lot for electricity and if the cost of electricity is high in your place you will be left with no profit at all.
also you should take into account that you need to run a computer all day and tolerate the sound and do proper cooling.
That's is not practical I think about the idea gave. I still much preferred to buy bitcoin then hold. Because investing in any kind of mining is too risky, the maintenance was so high including the electricity monthly, lets us be practical about in bitcoin for us to earn profit in the near future.

not any kind of mining. if you do the mining on your own and have a cheap electricity cost you can actually make a pretty decent amount of money from it.
it depends on the electricity cost most of all but also it depends on how good you handle the mining meaning switching to the best and most profitable coin for you.
and when people say mining, they usually mean altcoin mining not bitcoin since it needs a much bigger investment.
5099  Economy / Speculation / Re: It going to hurt..! drop back under 1000$ on: March 17, 2017, 03:27:33 PM
its funny how history repeats itself and the topics remain the same, as a FUDster you don't even have to make new topics you can just bump the old one up Smiley
and the funnier part is that bitcoin is moving up without any of these bullshit predictions coming true. and in the middle of all this, only newcomers lose money if they panic.
5100  Economy / Speculation / Re: Stop buying! on: March 17, 2017, 03:04:44 PM
Let it bottom out first!!!!

I do not understand the intent of your thread is '' Let it bottom out first !!!! '' No one can explain where the direction of this question?

someone needs to explain your question first!

but if you mean "what did he mean by let it bottom out first" i have to say the meaning of that is to wait until price reaches the "bottom" which is the minimum possible price.
and it is not possible to know what price that would be but when you want to buy you wait the first wave of drop and then get in, that is the least thing you can do.
