is there any coin again like stellar with free giveaway ?
i miss the boat Sad

Do you own BTC? Because then you will get some more free Stellars.

How does it work ? I have 0.1 BTC in my wallet, how much stellars will I get ?

~150 . There are no details published afaik. They will surely announce that very hugely, as 20% of all their coins (20 billion!) are distributed that way!
442  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How would you store >100 Bitcoins? on: August 05, 2014, 10:53:58 PM
What bank pays interest on bitcoin?

All that do are/were scam. So I got bad news for you!
What are you talking about?

Bitcoin Savings and Trust had such a prestigious name - they were honest, right?

Yeah. They all have such shiney and trustworthy names:

Coinlendes, Neo and Bees, Bitcoin Savings and Trust, Pirate Investments....
443  Economy / Speculation / Re: $500,000 per Bitcoin, baby. The math behind it. on: August 05, 2014, 10:52:45 PM
<snip>. If you had 100 bitcoins and the price is 10,000 USD each that is 1,000,000 USD man. That is more than enough to put into stocks/retirement account and do whatever the hell you want for the rest of your life.
<snip>

Yes, let's lock up your wealth into a retirement plan!
God knows when they pull the dollar plug and let it hyperinflate.

You would be *crazy* to put 1,000,000 into stocks or any other paper.
If you really are scared to hold that much value in bitcoins, transfer it into another tangible asset like gold, farmland, art, tools, cars, etc.

If I had 1,000,000USD right now, I would keep 10,000USD for spending, everything else in the above.
Stocks are not ultimately dependend on FIAT. Sure they would suffer extremely, but not like FIAT itself. Not having stock in your portfolio would be a huge mistake.

I wish I could dump them all but too bad that worthless shit is locked in a mortgage and pension fund.
I would love to convert all paper assets to anything else than paper.
I don't need/want the paper promises which cannot be fulfilled.
I rather invest in knowledge. Knowledge and experience cannot be taken away from you unless you become mentally ill.

That is a rather radical point of view.

I agree that knowledge and education and experience is the most important thing, but I don't get your hate against companies. Investing directly in companies is no option for you either?

445  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the biggest problem in crypto currencies? on: August 05, 2014, 10:45:45 PM
They haven't made me independently wealthy yet. Oh, wait, that might be my biggest problem with me.

Seriously though, the mass copycat versions is a problem. They (most of them) don't provide some improvement over Bitcoin, they just provide an alternative that people spend time and money on that will rarely, if ever materialize. They don't help with adoption either, they support the ponzi scheme fallacy. They're just a distraction.

Useless, costly and redundant, yes. But a problem for crypto adoption in general? Nah, I don't think so Wink
446  Economy / Speculation / Re: This Bitfinex Credit Bubble cannot end well on: August 05, 2014, 10:44:44 PM
Their system is a joke compared to BFX. They have no true market price for swap but just distribute it evenly to lenders and let borrowers pay way too much for it.

Maybe they change it though.
447  Economy / Speculation / Re: This Bitfinex Credit Bubble cannot end well on: August 05, 2014, 10:42:02 PM
I think it is funny that people use highly leveraged positions and let them go near forced liquidation, then due to market movements and illiquidity, get stopped and try to blame all on bitfinex.

Ever wondered why no serious trader using bitfinex ever complained?

Do you really think that? Have a good long read in the service discussion thread. Their market freeze + locking shorts in position during a rally left many traders with a very sour taste in their mouth.

Yes I remember that well, but that was a business decision. In no way did the traders implied that Bitfinex was entering positions and being a bucket shop. (That is what most people here accuse BFX of).

Their business and success is hugely depended on a healthy swap market and freezing the market in chain-liquidation scenarios is a bad but apparently neccessary step.
448  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to implement a Bitcoin like system which works only within intranet? on: August 05, 2014, 10:39:26 PM
Maybe he/she wants to set up a closed system of currency for a family, company, or group. I can think of a bunch of reasons why having a closed system of currency could be useful to a group of people.

Yeah, but to achive this, you will need a 100% closed network, and even then it doesn't really make much sence. Will they use company hardware to mine and compete for the coins? Hardly an optimal solution for company resources.
But what do I know..

With few miners on the network, difficulty would be far lower. They could also be premined depending on his/her needs.

true, but people would be inclined to try to increase their share by bringing USB asics ect to work and use company electricity. Not saying it can't work. Just saying that I don't get the economical reason for it.

What could work would be a 100% POS coin that is disctirbuted by CEO and has some kind of worth, like workfree days and shit.
449  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the biggest problem in crypto currencies? on: August 05, 2014, 10:34:24 PM
I don't have enough technical expertise to determine what is the "biggest" problem with cryptocurrency, but I do feel like a lot of Bitcoin users use the Bitcoin network without understanding basic things about the infrastructure, like mining and confirmations.

Not saying you are wrong. But how exactly does it matter if people understand the mining and confirmation specs? Sure they will be confused at times, but other than that no harm will be done.

@cexylikepie the moment you get the code, transfer the balance to one of your cards. The last week was full of scams involving starbucks cards!

Selling 5000 Stellars for BTC. PM me

Why don't you register an account in Justcoin and sell them from there? They even have an instand sell feature.

Used Justcoin for three days, but will avoid Justcoin going forward.

Originally, they do not charge any fees for BTC withdrawals. This justifies their very high 0.5%* trading fees.

Today, they have suddenly imposed a 25000 satoshi withdrawal fee.

* Mintpal 0.15%, Polo 0.2%, Bittrex & Cryptsy 0.25%

25K satoshi is like 15 cents, and .5% is 25 Stellar. That is a very stupid reason.

You can't deny that fees are way higher compared to industry standards.

You can't spare 20 cents to make your transaction instant? Wow to that guy^^

I am talking about trading fees of 0.5%.

Why do you assume that we only do 1 single trade and that we only own 5000 Stellars?

Do you project your situation on everything? ...

456  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How would you store >100 Bitcoins? on: August 05, 2014, 10:22:00 PM
I put 80% of my coins to a bunch of bitcoin banks (4-5) to generate interests while reducing systematic risk.
And put the rest into Blockchain for daily use like Bitbet.

What bank pays interest on bitcoin?

All that do are/were scam. So I got bad news for you!

Rape and pedo was common in the ancient history, along with murder, incest and kinds like that.

It is not modern time privileges things like that, and in the past it may not shock people, since the father had the right to kill their sons if he wanted to

what's your point here?

Like it was a new behavior of the modern world.

But in the past, before the Christianism, things are way worse, and people accepted pedo behavior and stuff.

Yeah because with christianism the cruel things suddenly improved??

Look at this list and ask yourself why it is so long: http://www.buckcash.com/opinions/temp/Christian_Crimeline.htm

People can always go self-justice road, but yeah some crimes are just so unbeleiveble cruel, that you can't comprehend how a human is capable of doing that ...
