441  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VTC] Vertcoin - Adaptive N-factor in Scrypt - No more ASICs on: February 05, 2014, 06:40:38 AM
The price is insane on cryptsy, if someone told me vert was going to .015btc on cryptsy, i would have called him a fool

And some people buyed it i week ago 1000 VTC for 0.4 btc... And now that its 15 btc, nice profit?

.015 btc won't last, the price is way way overvalued. There are some pro's manipulating this market big time

No manipulation. Its mostly a combination of low supply+fundamentals.

Edit: but yes, this is a good level to stabilize or have a small correction

I was about to buy VTC yesterday, but coinedup software discouraged me. Today its 100% up(+listing in Cryptsy). Is it too risky to get in now?

Looks like we will approach litecoin levels sooner than we first thought.

I personally think we are headed to 0.1btc

Boris thinks there is a chance of 1:1 with btc in the future.

Vtc WILL go up, but there is a chance for a temporary dip as with all coins.

So you can decide at what level you get in at, but definetly get in

Definately 1 VTC will cost 0.5 to 0.8 BTC in the three to six months

Never happening. in 3 months there will be something better out there

momentum counts for a lot. And it will be hard to duplicate the smooth launch Vtc had by anyone else for sometime

dude VTC is far from innovative. Asic prevention will only kick in in about two years, according to the chart on the OP (lol.) By then we will have moved on seomthing much better
I fail to see why ppl arent dumping it.

"Adaptive N-Factor" such BS branding. oh lawd

Im not saying its some sort of innovative miracle. What I am saying is that it is the first of its kind to fill a hole in the market coupled with an amazingly smooth and solid rollout. Of course something different might come along, but thats the nature of the industry in general. What we are looking at is short and midterm value. Longterm is hard to predict. Bitcoin might/will itself be replaced in the longterm

The slow entry of VTC into Cryptsy is awesome and great for the coin - price just continues to rise... I swear there is something cosmic going on here lol
Imagine what's gonna happen when all these deposits come through and people finally start selling their VTC.

that would mean a price drop initially

I bought in 1.4 Btc a few days ago at under the 1$ level. I new it was a strong coin, and what has happened the last few days is a testament to the quality development and great community. Hats off to everyone and lets keep going. Im holding longterm.

I'm in. Now all I need to do is get my mining rig fixed up and I'll point it at vertcoin... I think this may take off.

This has got to be the most organized and professional launch of a coin I have seen in a long time. Im impressed.
457  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VTC] Vertcoin - Adaptive N-factor in Scrypt - No more ASICs on: February 03, 2014, 10:54:52 AM
Hey guys, can we get some more sell volume at poloniex. Im not able to mine but want to throw some btc at this.

cheerio Cool

Try coinedup, has more volume i think.

But don't really think you'll find a lot of sellers since the whole community si pretty persistant to hold :p

coinedup is acting shitty to me today so i went to poloniex.

haha, spread the opportunities please fellas Grin

of course it is. the last one that gets the coin before it starts dropping and dies it the loser its like a hot potato. read some economic theory

Im talking about crypto market as a whole.

I will simplify it for you.. Think of the game hot potatoes Smiley

Let me explain to you how this works because you dont seem to understand. Ill explain it like to a 5 year old.

John buys 1btc for 1$.

New "investors" come in and drive the capitalization and price rises to 5$.

John sells his btc and makes 5x profit. Those who buy at 5$ dont lose.

What you described is a ponzi scheme. And if you think that is what Btc and some cryptos are, then what are you even doing here?

Hey genius every market is always zero sum:

John buys a btc for $1 sells to scott for $2
Scott sells for $3 to Colin
Colin sells $4 to turturo
Turturo sells for $0

1+1+1+1-4=0

On a transactional basis its not 0 sum but as a market it always is.. dont forget that.

The original post that sparked my reply was "for someone to make 20k$, someone needs to lose 20k$". Hence i was correct in my argument
460  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SBC] From Death Comes Life – The Rebirth of StableCoin - URGENT UPDATE on: February 02, 2014, 10:00:32 PM
FedoraCoin actually adds a 200+ byte (or character) random padding to the mixed transaction, which is then encrypted.
I didn't even intend to add it, but the RSA encryption we use forces us to use 256 bytes minimum to store transaction data inside, so we may as well make use of it Smiley

Sorry if it seems like I'm advertising, just spreading facts, I'm also a StableCoin supporter too (I helped to write some stuff on the wikipedia article before it got deleted) and I'm quite interested in how artos plans to add his mixing feature.

Thanks invisibel for the extra information. Don't worry nobody is adverse to you posting on here, at least I'm not! It's good that you've done something positive to move the features forward and found what is workable from your viewpoint. As I posted over on your thread, good luck with it, nice to see development happening.
+1

invisibel seems like a solid guy. Any development like this is good for the crypto world
