if you look at his account he was active a few days ago, he is working on it now. he still checks now and then but the real work is being done behind scenes

Yes, its a shame maxcoin passed vtc in marketcap. Keiser is really pumping that coin hard. But the underlying fundamentals are strongest in Vert. Give it time Edit: Its still down tremendously in price/coin since its launch, wheras Vtc is up tremendously since its launch if that makes you feel better |

Ok screw it.... I finally joined you guys. I have around 50 VTCs... not much but after all the losses I incurred with alts i'm trying to take it easy. I bought most of them around 0.00438.... will i make it guys?  Welcome. Youll be fine! I actually wish I had a few BTC right now to bust through these walls and get the price manipulators out of the game.
Not everyone who is selling large amounts is a 'price manipulator'. I got in early on vertcoin and was able to grab about 3k vert with only 3mhs hash power. I dumped these when vertcoin first started to get popular and the price was high. I definitely wasn't a 'manipulator.' Just trying to minimize my risk and sell the coins while they had worth. THat might be what you are seeing with these walls - just redistribution of the coins, which is good for the coin. well said. Taking in profits is reasonable, and advisable depending on individual circumstances. Redistribution of coins is healthy. |

Wow someone is really trying to kill the price of VTC. Every time it starts gaining a wall appears on the sell side... Instead of speculating about the potential motives of people selling, I'd suggest just treating this as an opportunity to buy with a capped price - I wish someone would put a big sell wall up every time I wanted to buy! Yep, I am coming out of the closet, just bought 40 more from 528 - 540  I will just buy, buy and buy. That does not include cash I have with them as well. Hehehe. These dooms day sayers kill me everytime. How do you think I have 6000 coins. I do not do this for fun my friend. You can not be sane keeping cca 5M USD on an exchange known to have issues for a long time unless it is just a splash in your overall wealth. Those coins are only yours if it sits on your paper wallet with encrypted private key with a solid password. Even if there is 5% or 10% probability that you will lose your coins due to Mt.Gox why the heck would you risk it? 5M USD is enough for several people´s lifetime to spend. You should have withdrawn the money and enjoyed your life. yea, for someone who is trying to portray himself as business savvy that is one amateur move |

do you really think implement zeroCoin/zerocash is a good idea?
i'am not familiar with zc, but i understand this as anonymization service.
is not one of the reason, why btc still has a bad reputation (at least for most ordinary people), because many shady business/transactions were done with the coin?
maybe implement a anonymization service can help to use vtc better for shady business and will harm its reputation?
i talked about vtc with 2 of our customers yesterday and they have mentioned this concern and i can understand this.
What do you think about this?

There are legitimate reasons for anonymity. For example, in theory, with bitcoin an employer might have the ability to see that you sent a payment to a psychiatrist which could affect your employment or your health insurance company could see that you regularly purchase from a tobacco/alcohol company increasing your rates, or simply your neighbor could if they wanted see how much money you are spending per month if they had your wallet id. These are just basic examples, but you can see the pandora's box this opens up. With regular banking, your spouse/employer/neighbor couldn't have access to your spending info if you didnt want them to, and the real world implications of this flaw in Bitcoin is important to fix. Privacy is crucial in regards to personal finance Edit: search out matt green (zerocoin) speaches on youtube regarding the need for privacy/anonimity sure and i agree there are allways good reasons for anonymity (i use thor from time to time) but i think you and jballs are missing the point here, the questions is if this will harm the reputation of vtc. not if anonymity is good or bad (which is always a double-edged sword). if potential investors with a lot of money to spend (i talk about 500'000 Dollars and more) have concerns about this plans and hold the money back, we should take this seriously. well at least in my opinion .... Perhaps, but then it would be their mistake. You would have to explain to them why anonymity is essential (just as financial privacy is codified into law). I would not compare zerocoin to tor, I see it more as not showing everyone your bank statements and monthly receipts. Reasonable people (investors) should be able to understand this. As far as regulations are considered, we will have to wait and see. This is the year we will find out, and I also got a positive feeling from the NYDFS hearings |

I am afraid this fundraiser could fail due to the community being too greedy, reffering to the slogan: "mine and hold!" Any update on Zerocoin/Zerocash being 'implemented/added' to Vertcoin? (if that's the correct saying). Do we have an ETA for this? Is it definitely going to happen?
We probably wont see it before May. wouldnt take that long. Anyways, boris said its a dev priority, cant really get more specific than that at this stage. I just did another small donation. |
