441  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Passive income methods (GPU Mining included) {QUESTION!} on: February 10, 2014, 09:12:48 PM
PoS coins require only your standard pc/computer (no heat and noise or babysitting)

and can create a good flow of stake payments if you diversify.

What command line would you use to mine quark based coins to a wallet on another system?

for solomining you just set the IP and credentials to match with whatever client (set to server ) on your network. for details on whatever coin, just check their threads.

Anyone else getting unconfirmed coins that haven't been deposited into their accounts yet? I am mining from pool.pxlcoin and I just have all unconfirmed coins and 0 confirmed. This has been like this for over 9 hours, should I switch pools or keeping mining?

Yep,We all get them , about 10 hours until they confirm just click on 'blocks' to see.

I received a small payment to my wallet of type "Mined" but my Stake field still shows 0.  How is that possible?  I'm using wallet version 1.3.3.1

The same thing is happening to me. Zero stake even though I should have some, and I am getting stake mined coins.

Stake amount(stones spent+interest) only shows for about 50 blocks (2hours) then it returns to your balance, it's just held for this amount of time. What you guys see as 'mined' is the actual small 'interest'(reward for supporting network) payment paid on some stones you held. To see the amount which created this 'interest' just right click on the small mined amount row, copy address ,and paste it into explorer, where you can see the amount which minted (and how old they were). (it shows as mined if it's mined or minted)

In getmining info you'll also notice the weight dropped and now starts again with the added minted amount for your next stake.

Hmmm.  The address for that transaction shows as (n/a) and there's nothing to paste.

Hm ya it might not work after confirmation, try to double click on it (one that shows mined), you'll see a window pop up, copy the transaction ID (or to: will shows address), should work =p

Hi All,
Noob here  Smiley.  I've had a few stones in my wallet since Jan 19 (plus added more every few days since), but I see none in 'stake' yet, am I just being impatient?

I love these stones btw  Grin

Oh and my wallet is unlocked and I let it synchronise every day.

Cheers

Still nothing in stake yet, any ideas what I've done wrong (or not done)?

Hold mouse over green checkmark bottom right (or console 'getinfo' and compare height), see the block number, compare to

http://www.diamondblocks.info/chain/Philosopherstone?count=20

It should be close or the same.  If so you can pm me the address and I can look it up. Very small amounts can take longer, but it's a good deal of time, unless you reset age by sending PHS out of the wallet since then?

that chart from earlier and that channel... time will tell

My guess is massive support 150-180 if it's there's enough 'bad' news at once.

I gained about 40khash/s on an i7-960, about 200 on a 2x Xeon E5-1650

but my quark windows miner is something i hadn't updated in like 6+ months

Yup Quark, well isn't profitable anymore, but you can use it on other coins just as well.

I would have expected much more from India. It's the world's largest democracy and has the third largest economy, and PHS is an epic flop. Check it: India 41, Belarus 41, Ukraine 158.

Japan's also stands out: Japan 25, Argentina 27, New Zealand 28, China 1747.

There's relative strength in Eastern Europe, which is cool. There must be a strong regional cultural appear?

And the Android version is doing way better than I would have expected...  Huh

China has adopted cryptos quite fast,..... population FTW. But the general adaption to cryptos in India does seem about right, when they enter we should see a boost in all cryptos (if). India has a long history with gold which might be the reason.

This Stones are the best cryptocurrency for me bad bad promotion because of no premine ... thats an evil circle ^^ but no Pumpers thats great Wink

I think maybe someone is developing for mobile but I can't be sure , or at least post about it yet. Tongue
451  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] *PXL COIN* Now trading on atomic-trade.com and cryptorush.in on: February 07, 2014, 04:29:26 AM
It's not attractive mine because it's better to mine something else, sell that for BTC, and then try to buy PXL with that BTC, if you're interested in PXL. That's not an opinion - it's a fact. And this will never change until difficulty can adjust much more rapidly. Even if the coin all of a sudden became highly desirable overnight, and tons of miners went into it and burned through those 1200 blocks, we'd end up with a repeat scenario of exactly what is going right now at 64 difficulty or whatever the next adjustment would be.

as of right now, no one is dumping the coins. so no you cant really just go buy them, if you want them you have to pay ALOT for them, or mine them, or both.

so clearly those who have PXL are not that interested to dump it yet, and for now that coupled with the diff strand is leaving the exchanges and the site pretty uneventful. I have open buy and sell orders on both exchanges. in fact I have most of the open buy and sell orders on both exchanges.

so I don't know where all the PXLs are but damned if they aren't rare. lol...

PXL are being hoarded in general it seems, like many cryptos, I don't see any 'large amounts' for sale, that's for sure.

Actually, No matter how many miners or speed came to PXL, it would re-target downwards.

The current difficulty is exactly what the free market (miners) set, ironically.

Wow!!!!  I haven't seen the stone price this low b4.  I'm noticing people come and go.  That wallet bug isn't helping. If our community was half of DOGE, we would be over $1.  What are the plans for promotions?   Are we out of funds for promotions?   Looks like miners are dumping and bringing the price down and down and down.

If the community was 1/20th of doge this coin would be $5

even 1/100th DOGE is better promoted then even BTC

Hello guys, I have a problem
My wallet had 2 incoming transactions (received not minted) totaling 5000 phs. Now I was stupid enough to not backup my wallet and suddenly the deamon gives 'error reading wallet', maybe due to repeated power outs. I erased the blockchain and restarted deamon to start over, it worked until some height then gave the same error. pywallet gives me a bad tx in wallet.
So what I did is erase blockchain, start deamon and 'listreceivedbyaddress', which gave me only on address that received 5000.
I dumped that private key, moved away the wallet and started a fresh installation. It worked great, but of course with 0 balance.
Now after sync, I imported that key into new wallet, wondering if I would get my 5000 only, or also my minted pos on these (they were about 3 months old, before problem they had created some 500+ pos.
I was prepared of course to loose those 500 stones.

The weird thing is that after importing the key, my balance was around 4500  Huh and right away they started to create some small pos blocks.

How can this be?

Thanks

Power loss is very bad for any type of app, especially if it corrupts a DB.  I know someone who went to send a large some of coins from p2pool mining and of course it lagged the client a bit so he would just ctrl-alt-delete or turn the pc off.. ya don't do that. Maybe get a UPS or rent a cheap VPS that never losses power if that's a constant issue.

The stake will generate to the same address as the input, So not sure why you would lose it (moving keys from a dead wallet would bring them back, unless they were orphans) Just check your address(s) (inputs) in explorer to see if they match the wallet, they should, but post back if you see things on explorer and not in your wallet (stakes).

backup often

I'm looking at these sell orders and I can't figure out why people sell for so cheap? These coins in my opinion should have a lot higher value. I guess I'll just buy up these cheap coins and hold them till value gets to where it should be.

Agreed. Ridiculous really.  The first sell order on the new echange was already low. No body even attempted to try and raise the prices. Oh well. With the way this coin mines and the dev team and intrinsic value behind it there will be a lot of sad PXLess ppl soon. I'm hoarding. :-)

Yeah I don't get how coins with nothing different besides a logo have a much higher market value.

We are getting added to CoinMarketCap soon - this is when people will realize the coin is undervalued!

I almost guarantee there are a lot people backing this coin that are just sitting back hoarding while all the miners who just mine and dump on a daily basis get rid of their coins. I'm gonna continue mining and buying.

This and POT are the only 2 coins that interest me right now but have way more interest in PXL .

no one is mining this coin due to insane difficulty. I did tell OP this fate when miners will flee.. same as CAT/RPC... well i am still holding and bought a few for cheap but Unless something changes ( it goes to big exchange or a fork happens) this coin will remain dead. Poeple underestimate miners.. miners are the reason the coin exists or collapses not any fkcing investor

When Trip first mentioned his PXL idea to me I said make sure you use PoS, But he wanted a fair launch and was a bit wary about PoS as it could be monopolized. PoW coins yes it's all about the miners. Trip has been working on this with all his spare time and getting it listed on many sites (even in the last few days).  It is currently profitable to mine PXL. It's true and was said about 10 times now, PXL was planned to be a niche coin , not the next bitcoin, it's true neither of us expected 525+ mhash to burn through difficulty so fast on this.

That said, I have run a  few testnet forks with modified difficulties timings and even gravity well, so there is always options to modify long term to make PXL faster (for traders, etc)
. You can also PM me or trip or post here what your ideal settings are, its more productive.

Hi,

I will also send a PM, if looks like all those transactions are in a row, which would look like a small fork off the main chain. Will have to try to recreate this on testnet. the transactions in and stones in that are on the main blockchain will still belong to you when you return to the main chain (and stake for larger amounts then). It also seems like you have very many stakes?  Is this an older wallet where this is typical? There may be some issue with such a high amount of dust. Will send PM to resolve.

Grin  Cheesy MY LOST STONES ARE BACK AGAIN !!!

1. I made a backup of my wallet.dat
2. I deleted the "/.Philosopherstone/" (Linux) folder
3. I run my wallet to create a new "/.Philosopherstone/" folder and waited for comlete synchronization
4. then "Stake:" showed "0 PHS" and the 1281 stones that were shown in "stake" before seemed to be lost.
5. I restarted the wallet with the command ./philosopherstone-qt -salvagewallet
6. And all my stones are back again!

I spoke with upstream developer on this issue, and in a rare case it is indeed possible to PoS before full sync in a sort of "offline" mode. Quick fix is of course encrypt wallet and unlock when you are ready. I am very happy you have your stones and can get back to staking! Also I put a quick patch on git with a checkpoint in case you needed it, (yesterday) but seems this has resolved.  I'll see if there is a easy way to remedy this bug in code.

Also wonder if wallet or chain was corrupted - this issue happened on explorer recently, a new chain fixed it right up.

~
In other news, I also patched walletnotify into main.

Introducing Alchemist: The Philosopherstone Monitoring Tool (By Molitor)
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=446260.0

This is considered third party for now (although if well received some of this functionality may be introduced into standard client later).

*Note Alchemist is closed source,  so please use good judgement (lock and backup wallet or use another wallet, Molitor has a good rep).

any problems or questions with this beta please refer to:
