441  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Some tips to help protect yourself from crypto scam on: January 04, 2024, 11:12:43 AM
One advice is missing here, either the projects team are audited and solid it still doesn't mean it's scam free, so it's better to care more about investing only what you can afford to lose, anything apart from Bitcoin is still a very high risk investment.

The problem I have with alts is that they don't always survive long, you can't buy alt and decide to marry your bag like having Bitcoin and deciding to hold till your retirement, the alt can varnish after a successful bull market or it value goes to zero due to lack of development.

It's even more scary that many more layer 1 and 2 alts are been created almost every month now, believe me, it's all business, money making, once the opportunity is achieved it's possible that a massive dump will follow later and the project might never survive.
442  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you actually think a Bitcoin ETF will be accepted this month? on: January 04, 2024, 10:26:21 AM
It's expected to be approved and the SEC have no choice anymore but know that this still won't stop the price action of Bitcoin not to run down the hill, we will see massive dump if the ETFs do get disapproved too, my advice is be ready for anything, have some stable coins keep aside and also keep holding your favourite gems for the bull market.

Don't expect or hope too much about the ETF approval, it does not even matter because without ETF Bitcoin and crypto will still do what they have been doing since the past years, new all time high will be made and bear market will follow.
443  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does the tension make you take risk that are sometimes worth it? on: January 03, 2024, 03:26:36 PM
Why will one have to gamble under any form of pressure? If you are in tension of any kind, you should stay away from the casino and don't have to gamble at all because your judgement and decision about your gambling habit will be based on your mindset.

Unless you totally depend on gambling for survival, if you don't play and win any day, you won't have anything to go back home with. That's the only time I see that someone can be gambling under tension, as if their life depends on it.

That's the only time the person can be gambling under tension, which is not a good thing for anyone leaving their normal life to do, so to answer your question, I have not gambled under any form of pressure before, and if I'm having any form of unbalanced emotion, I don't even think about visiting the casino because I might end up making the wrong decisions.
People do gamble because of sudden situations, this have happened many times around me, like someone who needed money to take his mother to the hospital, the bills was so much that he decided to give gambling a try, since no one wanted to help him, luckily he won some money and he cried bitterly, he said he knew he could lose the money but something kept telling him to try.

Situations do make people engage in things they are not into at all, when pressure arises, humans can do anything depending how the level of the pressure, may we not know what it feels like to have no choice than to do something even if we don't feel like, the thought of losing something very darely to you can bring tense into your body and you won't hesitate to make some decisions.
444  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you care about what people say about you gambling? on: January 03, 2024, 01:46:11 PM
I don't let people know and that's it, if you are someone who cares about what people will say then don't do it when they are present, things have change drastically in this world, we now have access to the internet, people can gamble in their home and offices if they want.

People in my country don't care about privacy when gambling, even when many old people don't look them as a responsible people but for someone like me who don't want people to judge me wrongfully I prefer to gamble in my privacy space.

It's easy to say that you don't care, but society level of mentality is different, and everyone isn't the same, it's like how the word of mouth is the most dangerous tool in south Korea, many people have committed suicide because of what people are saying about them.

If you don't care and you are ready for any thing that people thrown at you then don't hide your gambling activities, but if you are not so sure it's better to just avoid and gamble in your room.
445  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How should Lotteries be categorized? on: January 03, 2024, 10:45:47 AM
Living on such hope is something that I can't do to myself, I have seen people living their life to their old age as a lottery ticket investors and they never win, the chances vs you just gambling in a casino is pretty lower, it's something you can't decide to do for a long time but those who start can't even stop, this is why you need to choose carefully what do to yourself, things get in the blood fast and we find it hard to stop.

Peoples mind are delicate, if they believe in lottery, they could send all their life believing that they will become millionaire one day with lottery and they won't be able to do anything else for themselves, and their life will waste away.

I won't categorise lottery as gambling, because it's more risky than gambling, if you get addicted to lottery you may never be free of your addiction, it will cripple your journey in life because you have found a way to break free from hard working, if you think about it, you will see how cruel lottery can be vs gambling in casino.

446  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto gambling and religious restrictions on: January 02, 2024, 05:02:00 PM
I don't like gambling and religion discussions, it's not worth the argument, all I can say is that the few Muslims I know don't see gambling as haram, they place bets on sports matches especially football games.

It's a matter of choice, and there is no need for Muslims to have their own separate block chain just because other users are using Bitcoin to gamble, I will still advice them to invest in Bitcoin if they want, no new coin will be best over Bitcoin.

It's actually simple, if you don't like gambling you should abstain from it, I don't want to know what your Quran or other only book said, if you believe in the words then proceed by respecting the rules.

I can see few Muslim coins on the internet, something with sharia law implemented, I've never seen it working, though I may be wrong, but honestly it's not needed, Muslims and Christaind are welcome to invest in Bitcoin if they want, separation is what makes religions a never ending war.
447  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Understand your wallet on: January 02, 2024, 01:19:07 PM
You could have cut your original post very short, just tell them to do research on crypto wallets before using them to store funds, as some are custodial, meaning that the wallet builders are responsible for keeping the wallet private keys which is a very bad sign.

I was once a victim of few custodial wallets too as I was unable to tell the difference, you could have also make few list of the best crypto wallets for storing assets, like Electrum and Trust wallet, the best type of crypto wallets are always open source and also non-custodial.

Examples of bad crypto wallets are..

Block chain wallet, Free wallet, BitMeX, BinanCe, BitGo, Xapo wallet and many others.

Examples of good crypto wallet aka Non-custodial are..

Electrum, Unstoppable, Wasabi, Ledger and Trezor, etc.
448  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the perception of people about gamblers in your neighborhood? on: January 02, 2024, 12:30:09 PM
The percentage of people managing to win life-changing amounts from gambling must be very small, so I don't understand how that can be the reason for a change of perception in society regarding gambling because the percentage didn't change from old times to now, it might be because more people have access to gambling now with all the online gambling platform that provides ease of access to anyone with a smartphone and a cryptocurrency wallet.

People in old times used to go to physical or land-based casinos for gambling, and generally, it feels like it's more difficult to win in a land-based casino than in online gambling, which might be the reason why the perception of people is changing towards it as they can see people are now gambling on their mobile phones and laptops and maybe winning some money now and then.
People in old times? What about those offline casinos that are still in operation? Las Vegas is full of located casinos left and right, people still go to casinos instead of gambling on their smartphones, they tend to enjoy this instead of gambling online, someone one said that it's more fun to see people around you also gambling, and it's bored to gamble online alone.

What I've noticed is that those who are used to going into a casinos to gamble already get used to it, even if you make all data available to them they won't feel alive gambling online in their room, they will prefer to go outside and gamble in the midst of other gamblers.

I don't know where you are from, but where I am from, people still gamble in casino even when they have access to the internet on their smartphones.
449  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's Your Feeling After You Finish Gambling. on: January 02, 2024, 10:40:38 AM
How you feel after gambling depends on how much you lose, and this can get even better and you will care less if you lose money if the amount you risk means nothing to you, I can afford to lose $20 in gambling and I will still feel very good, because I can really afford that multiple times to do other things and I choose to risk $20 on gambling, just once or twice in a week.

How you want your feeling to be after every gambling is all on you, if you are careless your feeling will get ruined, if you risk a lot of money you could have a bad week due to losing the money, make sure you don't risk too much on gambling and also make sure that you don't take money from friend and family all because you want to gamble.

To be honest, everyone have their bad days, where you just feel sad for no reason sake, I always make sure I don't gamble on such days because having a good feeling before gambling can also bring you good luck.

Be happy and risk only what you can afford to lose.
450  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies how to use the 2FA security system in the account? on: January 01, 2024, 02:52:07 PM
I just found out that 2FA is now active on the forum, good move honestly, now we will have less compliant about people losing their accounts to unknown person.

Begginers who are not used to 2FA already should be careful, if you don't back up your 2FA codes you will lost access to your account, I don't think there will ever be a way to get your account back.

You can use google auth if you don't have any problem backing up your codes using your email account, I have tried it and it works, but I found Authy to be better than Google auth.
451  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Connecting to Public Wifi on: January 01, 2024, 12:40:46 PM
Don't even try to use any public wifi, they are not always safe.

There are many dangers awaiting anyone connecting their devices to the wifi network, like..

Identity theft through online victim profiling.

Loss of passwords.

Snooping for confidential data.

Ransomware attacks.

Even malware infection is possible.

Sometimes I always come across public wifi in my area but I know that they are not always safe, this is why I don't bother connecting my phone or devices to such networks, this is not recommendable.

452  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe in gambling experts predictions? on: January 01, 2024, 11:17:21 AM
And what will happen if the games came as predicted? That's gambling mate, it will either go wrong or right, it does not make the predictor a lame person when it comes to gambling.

I don't like following peoples guide when it's about gambling, I accept that gambling is nothing but pure prediction, you can never be sure of what you will get, so even if anyone promise that their game/bet will come out right, you don't have to trust the calling.

Always remember that nothing is certain in gambling, it's too risky to be trusted, even if you are so sure you can still be wrong, when you are about to bet some money, always think about losing the money, if it doesn't sit right with you, don't use such amount to gamble..
453  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the perception of people about gamblers in your neighborhood? on: January 01, 2024, 09:55:39 AM
Gamblers were seen as irresponsible people in my town few years ago. Parents usually warn their children never to indulge in gambling or associate with people who gamble. However, a lot has changed recently as gambling has become one of the biggest business here. As a result of that, societal perception has also improved as many testimonies of life-changing wins from gambling has emerged.

I don't know if this is only happening in my area or is a general trend, hence the reason I created this post. Let's know what people think about gamblers and how well the gambling business is faring in your area.
Not good, in my own area you will feel the hate on gambling faster than anything, if you are detected in a casino nearby you are already a useless fellow.

The numbers of gamblers in my country increases after online casino really became a thing, and that's in the covid era where everyone are forced to stay indoor, people got to make money but they can't go to work and even those who have no interest in gambling ends up having interest.

If online gambling never exists I won't be gambling right now, the shame is more than enough for me to stay away, and no matter how good your explanation is to other people, they will still believe that you are not a serious type.
454  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online or offline gambling which is more safer? on: December 31, 2023, 02:08:24 PM
Online is more safer for me, there are bad things that can happen online too but it's way better than gambling offline.

The worst that can happen to use while gambling online is getting scammed by scam online casinos, this move can't be pulled offline because the casino has location which you can easily report to the authorities.

You can easily avoid this by picking the best online casinos that have been in work since the past years and with good reputation over the years.

But offline comes with some danger to yourself compare to online, the problem is people, those who are inside the casino while you gamble, even with tight security it's possible that you will be followed once you leave the casino with the money you win, fights can also break out too and it could get ugly if it result into violence like.
455  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will do to bank what Email did to post office on: December 31, 2023, 12:03:41 PM
OP, do not compare the internet and letters with Bitcoin and Banks, it's different...

Do you know how much it costs to send money from your bank to another bank account vs using Bitcoin to send transaction to another Bitcoin wallet? I am not afraid of the truth, Banks beats bitcoin here, it's cheaper to make transactions from bank to bank, both also use the Internet too.

The profitability wise is where Bitcoin beats the banks, and also it's decentralized, which is one of my favourite Bitcoin use case, staying away from the banks and the authorities is why Bitcoin is different.

But trsanction wise, Bitcoin is more costly than using the banks, which will make millions of people to sit prefer using the banks side by side with Bitcoin and some will still choose to stay away from Bitcoin.
456  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does casino streamers have influence in your gambling life? on: December 31, 2023, 11:42:02 AM
Some people choose to use streamers when they are ready to find their first casino to gamble, but I call this a very bad idea because most streamers are not using the same software that will be available for gamblers when they sign up on the same casino as the streamer.

Many people have walked the same way with streamers, using their same method and also same platform and yet they don't get the same result, in fact the result is nowhere near what the streamer got, I am not saying that all of them are the same but most of them are.

Why not focus on yourself instead? There is no amount of gambling strategy that can make you win money without losing, the only choice left is risking what you can afford to lose, nothing beats this idea in gambling.
457  Economy / Gambling / Re: Responsible gambling on: December 31, 2023, 09:15:57 AM
I do not want to elieve there is anything called responsible gambling, at least, none in my mind yet. Why will gambling, whose foundations exists on probability be intertwined with the word RESPONSIBLE?

Whoever choses to gamble has already subjected himself to a system that is 100 percent sponsored by the highest degree of uncertainty and should not be termed responsible. The measures to put in check when gambling to avoind being wrecked and addicted doesn't account for the title of responsible gambler.
It's because of that uncertainty is why you need to be a responsible gambler, if you get wrecked its because of the way you gamble, if you are making $100 every week and you have your own responsibility, a wife and children, and you risk $90 on gambling, this makes you a irresponsible gambler.

A responsible gambler is someone who reduce their risks of getting wrecked in gambling, yes they choose to be a gambler, on something that's highly on probability, that doesn't mean you should not use your head.

Haven't you heard about gamblers that end up putting their families at risk? Some even sold their house which lead to their families living in the streets, a responsible gamblers are not selfish, they think about their families and also about themselves, home responsibility should always comes first, and if spare money comes you can use it on gambling, as a gambler if I am making $100 in a week I will risk only $5 on gambling per week.

I know what awaits every gamblers while they gamble, it's not always the pleasant result, if not, every gamblers will have good stories to share, but the opposite always happens, that's why taking big risks in gambling is not worth it.
458  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What we all learnt this 2023 on: December 29, 2023, 08:29:04 AM
I know I'm kinda new here to be giving out advice on this forum, nonetheless I've been on the crypto space for some years now and from my mistakes and personal experience I can say this:

👉 Don't take popular opinions as an investment advice. If there is anything I've truly learnt from my time in this forum, is not to follow popular opinions or crypto influencers. Making reference to a trend some months ago about bitcoin price reaching an ATH of 100k this year which is obviously not going to happen because of the current price and market conditions, I guess it would take the hand of God to make that happen and we aren't even sure if we are in a bull run or not.

👉 Stop relying on Telegram channels or Reddit groups for trade signals or investment advice. I know everyone has their decision and perspectives regarding to this but from my knowledge and complaints I've seen on this forum and other sources, most persons ends up with negative experiences from this.
Trading is risky and investment must be done wisely.
I recommend that you get some knowledge so you could do some analysis for yourself and check those signals before using them. This would help you have an idea of the risk your getting into.
Always do a good background check up before investing in any project.

👉 This advice might seem a little controversial, but I think it's helpful. Stop over diversification, what I call over diversification is putting your money in every crypto project that comes your way.
I think it's far better to have few crypto that you are constantly, than investing violently in so many project.

Good advice but it's impossible to invest in every single projects that come out, you will eventually run out of money, but I will like to correct this, that if you have more than 5 assets in your crypto wallet they will become more harder to manage, and the more you add to your bag the difficult it becomes, but it's impossible to invest in everything, just looking at the numbers of assets in crypto space and how they are increasing everyday it will piss you off.

There is nothing new I learn this year though, just the same old lessons, if anyone tell you that mistakes can be completely avoided it's a big lie, to avoid high transaction fee on Bitcoin I used a fake Bitcoin wallet and I got my wallet drained, I got so mad but got over it later.

Mistakes can't really be completely avoided, but it's better to take time doing anything in crypto space to avoid making stupid mistakes and be willing to take your learning skills to higher level.
459  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What gives high winning percentage for you, spread or total? on: December 28, 2023, 10:54:57 AM
You aimed to be profitable in gambling on the long run, and that's where you got it wrong, I just gamble only when I feel like, I have other important things to spend my money on and it's not a must for me to gamble.

Have you not all realise already that gambling isn't worth all the attention you are giving it? Some gamblers are too serious with gambling than their source of income, I am not saying that gambling is wrong but the chances that things will go your way is too small, you want to keep betting on that? Fine, why not use very small money? The type we use to buy beers when we hang out with friends.

I don't keep records and I don't need to, I know what gambling is and I only do it if I have the money that I won't be using, for the time being, I can take weeks off without gambling, and I only jump right back in when I have money to lose.
460  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: License: is it a guarantee? on: December 28, 2023, 09:17:27 AM
No it's not guaranteed that a licensed casino won't scam but it's better to use a licensed casino that one that's not even licensed, they have the reason to steal your money simply because they are not licensed compare to the casino that's licensed.

Also those licensed casinos that scam people can still end up in trouble one day, if there is a lot of complains and reports, the law might decide to look into the case, but a unlicensed casino will freely walk away and it will be left for the users to be blamed, like why did they use a casino that's not even licensed?

To avoid all this craps, go for the most popular online casinos, or those that have good reputation, 1xbit turned scam and everyone knows about it, there is no point going into such casino to try your luck, you will definitely get scammed too, reputation speaks louder among online casinos.
