So my body played an awesome April Fools prank on me. I just came back from the hospital after having a kidney stone. The pain was quite intense. I spent around 4 hours waiting in the emergency room enduring hell and the rest of the time in stationary care, hopped up on meds. Well, I say stationary care but it was mostly me getting laughs from the nurses from doing weird cardio in the halls on pain meds and a bottle of water in one hand and a IV-stand in the other because I would rather force the stone to come out by itself rather than get a tube inserted up my urethra. But it worked. Back home quickly, pain free but a bit sore. Life is good.  Just the thought of pissing a jagged pebble thru my penis hole makes me shudder. But also, just the thought of pain meds makes me….ummm…never mind. I’d best not have those thoughts… All the best m8. |

The merits might have thrown me off too.. even though maybe the first two merits that came from bumbacoin for 50 merits and sukamasoto for 30 merits should have had been clues that it was a fake screenshot... especially since I had never heard of those members, but I did not even really look very closely at trying to figure it out.
Initially, I had thought that the forum might have activated satoshi's account for the mere purpose of the joke.. which does seem a bit much, but sometimes we seem to tolerate a lot of extremes in order to make April Fool's jokes.
Whoever toke the screenshot is a noob in Photoshop or whatever software they used. I don't think anyone was fooled because that was looking so fake. I would rather use inspect element on one of the satoshi's posts and edit everything if I wanted to do a such prank. That would look more realistic. I don't know if you use TryNinja's Telegram bot. He tried to fool everyone yesterday by giving fake Merit notifications by satoshi. Guess what, it didn't work properly due to the Telegram HTML error. Still, he got shahzadafzal. Hahaha still you got me there! I had to go back and check my merit history, then I searched through my posts. And I didn't stop there - I even looked up Satoshi's last active date and his merit history. So, overall, you won this one. I'd rate it even higher than theymos's April prank, because that one was predictable, but this was a complete surprise. ATEOTD... Anyone who actually gets fooled on April 1st, is a fool, and the kind of person the day was designed for, I suppose. I just like the chuckles regardless of whether I'm fooled or not, (usually not, if it's April 1st) especially for the effort of a creative prank. |

People are moving towards both extremes.
Both parties currently view the other as an existential threat to the country and I'm not exaggerating when I say it's as if there are two different realities for those who hate Biden and those who hate Trump. There is no more conservative party in America anymore, which is not a good thing. In fact, many of the conservatives that you're thinking of from the Clinton and Bush days openly supported Biden, the democrat, in the 2020 election. Excuse me for somewhat wandering off my topic of the Trump indictment, but to address your point..... People are moving towards both extremes. Yes, this has been going on ever since the dawn of the internet and social media has enabled/allowed communities of folks with political pre-conceived notions, regardless of how irrational they are on a purely factual level, to gather together in a virtual setting, multiply, bolster and amplify/broadcast their beliefs. Its a feedback loop. And here we are today with understandably folks on both extreme sides of the political spectrum living in their respective internet reality bubbles, squawking at each other. Both sides thinking the other side are crazy. Its a sad state of affairs. I myself try to stay being a common sense center of the roader, not straying to one extreme or the other, and risk falling into the ditches of fringe nonsense, this forum being a prime example. (Don't get me wrong, this place keeps me well amused)... And to stay on topic, Tuesday looks like an interesting day as arraignment happens, but I rather doubt there will be a handcuffed Trump "perp walk" but if there is, the internet will probably explode. Can retire now, no question about it, but my dad's health really deteriorated after he retired, don't really want to go that route.
Men typically take it (stopping regular work) much harder, need at least a significant hobby or a couple of those, I hear.
I would have picked golf, maybe, but it is so darned hot here in the summer.
Mining is also becoming so industrialized that it is not much fun to small-mine.
Maybe nodes or lightning nodes?
