1121  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why I'm an atheist on: September 10, 2021, 11:13:44 PM
...
My position is all atheists are religious fanatics that choose to believe in nothing. Totally as fucked up as religious beliefs.
....

Dude, you are SO wrong.  I'm an atheist ,and I'm not a religious fanatic.  (atheism is not a religion, just like baldness is not a hair color)
I believe in plenty of rational things, like science. Its not fucked up, my friend. Quite the contrary.
You are painting with a broad brush. Put it away.

...
The reality is we are simply too stupid to know what the fuck is happening and agnosticism is the only sane way to be.
...

I used to be agnostic too. That's just a cop out. I got a clue, got off the fence, stopped being wishy washy, and took a stance.
And btw, maybe you do, but I don't think I'm too I'm stupid too know what's happening. Quite the contrary.

...
Btw if you a true agnostic you can switch to either god belief or nothing belief when and if they are correctly and accurately described to you by the universe.
...

Is that an order?

...
I was raised a roman catholic grades k to 8 a total of nine years of training.
I have come to realize I have zero need to believe in things i do not understand or know.
...
Then educate yourself to understand and know the things you don't.

...
ie God or nothing.
...

Not sure what your point is.

...
For me good friends and kindness to people when possible are my goals while I live here on earth 🌏.
...

You and me both, my friend.

...
whats next don’t know don’t care I will deal with it when it happens.

fair enough.

And to answer the question in the thread title "why I'm an atheist" is quite simple really.
I don't believe in sky fairies and the supernatural. And I'm not "agnostic" about that either.

Cool

Here ya go bud.
This dude used to be a  devout Christian just like you, but unlike you, he came to his senses.
I know, I know,  I'm just beating a dead horse by posting here, but hey,
it is on topic after all, and I will admit to not adhering to that rule on occasion...

1123  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Donald Trump's Re-election Bid to Reclaim Power Come 2024 on: September 09, 2021, 11:38:29 PM
......

There is no sign that the party actually wants to get off that path. They're doubling down on voting restrictions, gerrymandering, and other shenanigans to maintain electoral advantage while pandering to the extremists......

Of course. Most rethugs are quite well aware that the only way their party can stay in power is by following this roadmap.
If every eligible voter in USA always registered and cast their vote, they (rethuglicans) would never win another presidential election. And they know it, hence the above described strategy is used.
They (rethugs) also know much of their base aren't the sharpest knives in the drawer and will eat up the retarded perpetuated narrative of rigged election nonsense.

....Unless Trump croaks in the next couple of years, ....

I'm crossing my fingers.

..... he'll be the 2024 nominee.

The fact that this is a very real possibility is a sad testament to the average gullibility intelligence of a vast swath of this countries population.

Goddammnit!
How many times do I have to post this before it sticks?
1125  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 07, 2021, 10:33:50 PM
Do you guys think this sell-off is result of giving 6.45 Million people $30 USD in BTC each? I would say the dump was a panic selling of the El Salvadorian people + panic selling of whales expecting the El Salvadorians to drag down the price (because out of a population of 6.45 Million people, most would obviously either fear crypto, not understand it and/or not wish to leave it unspent?)

If I was poor, living in a third world country and the government gave me free money if I
downloaded some strange app on my phone, damn straight I'd sell it right off the bat and get my familiar American fiat dollars to pay a bill or two.
I seem to recall doing something similar back in 2017 when there were numerous shitcoin airdrops.
Only difference was I converted it all to BTC (and some pms) rather than $fiat.

No worries, ateotd, in the BTC theater, its all just noise.

GO BITCOIN

Dude, if you're gonna post YouTube guitar vids, at least post ones where the player shows at least above average talent. (there's literally thousands of em out there these days) instead of this beginner level shite.
1138  Other / Meta / Re: Copy/paste only with source on: September 04, 2021, 03:38:39 PM
Technically these should be deleted as low value posts - rule #1 - but the enforcement of that rule is quite spotty.

My favorite: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5357066.0

He didn't even bother to give it a proper title, just copied the same text and cut it off in the middle of a sentence. Zero effort copy-pasta spam. Report unhandled. Go figure.

For a so-called news site, using subdomains seem pretty sus right off the bat.

It's not a news site, it's a batshit conspiracy blog but that's besides the point, P&S board is full of that Grin

Even if someone posted links from BBC that way, it would still be a low value post. It's a clear copy-pasta / link spam. Probably worse that what the OP described since there isn't even a quote, although just adding a quote without any attempt to make a coherent point about it and/or start a discussion would still be zero value spam and should fall under rule #1.

As soon as I saw who OP (of quoted thread) was I was like,  oh Jeeezus, what a surprise. The spamming copy pasta batshit crazy, lunacy link king of the P+S Boards.
I swear if that idiot ceased his trolling posting, the intelligence of this forum would go up ten fold.
