441  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: I’m thinking about Bitcoin Mining on: July 06, 2017, 05:53:54 AM
Hmmm. You're just a couple if years late Cheesy

Gpu mining bitcoins is dead way back. The only current possible way to mine bitcoins is using ASIC miners (try googling antminer s9). That's what can be used now.

With your gpu rig try mining ethereum or decred or any other altcoin you want to.
Check this site to see which coin is right for yu at the moment.

442  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammed by TrueCryptoiner on: July 03, 2017, 11:52:36 PM
Well first of all, you should've used an escrow before attempting to buy from a jr. member account.
(If he refused, it's obvious he's a scammer ).

And regarding this thread, try giving more details about what happened.
Use the format used in the sticked thread.

Scam Report Format

Code:
[b][color=black]What happened:: [/color][/b]

[b][color=black]Scammers Profile Link: [/color][/b]

[b][color=black]Reference Link: [/color][/b]

[b][color=black]Proof of Payment: [/color][/b]
[b][color=black]PM/Chat Logs: [/color][/b]

Copy and paste it in new thread then fill all data.
443  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Confirmation became really fast, what has happened? on: July 03, 2017, 11:47:04 PM

Well that's pretty shady.
I often hear about those "scam" attacks on the bitcoin network but I just thought it was some kind of a theory.

But that type of sudden decrease in the mempool size makes totally no sense to me !
Looks like there is some real stuff going on. It's been 3 days and the no. of unconfirmed transactions is pretty much 8k which is great.

Hopefully this type of small amount transaction pressure stops forever.
444  Other / Off-topic / Re: A decentralized web would give power back to the people online on: July 03, 2017, 11:33:22 PM
How do you want to make the web decentralized ??

This is just not the way how the internet we know now works.
The normal internet is that you visit a specific url on a server which has the info that you need.

How do you decentralize that? You might need to totally create a new version of the web or something (but I just can't imagine it ??
445  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: WHERE do you mine...? As in.. the garage.. a commercial unit etc? on: July 03, 2017, 10:39:22 PM
I recently started mining.
I'm mining in my own room since I have AC on for most of the time in summer.

Electricity cost is pretty good as well about $0.05 kw/h or 0.08
There is also an empty appartment that my family owns which is not used by anybody.
If this mining project needs an expansion, I might use it.

It's really exciting. (Yes I was told multiple times that I could earn more just by buying the coins but I've liked the experience so far Cheesy )
446  Economy / Services / Re: [FULL] Rollin.io Signature & Avatar Campaign on: July 02, 2017, 03:50:53 PM
Payment received as always.

Thanks a lot mate.
That's the best solution ever to fix the payouts in USD.
447  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining is not stable on: July 01, 2017, 12:40:57 AM
Your mining hashrate isn't stable mainly because of the tweaking you've done to your card.

Try playing around the overclock settings. Alter the core and memory clocks until you find a stable setting.
Changes in the hashrate should be about +5/-5.

Look for rejected shares in the miner.
448  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Owners of GTX 1060, what is your hashrate? on: July 01, 2017, 12:35:43 AM
27 mhs for each 1060 gtx 3gb
70w power limit

reported by pool side
It's almost impossible to get 27 from a GTX 1060, even with +1000 memory you won't have more than 24-25.
So for me it's a typical "pic or didn't happen"!

Well it's weird that these two replies don't match ??
Can you tell us how you were able to achieve 27 mh/s ? What overclock settings ??
449  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: free electicity, what's next? on: July 01, 2017, 12:32:33 AM
Free electricity is great !
But the thing is the days of bitcoin gpu mining is over.

These GPUs are a little bit old compared to these days.
It's better if you get better cards rx 470s or 480s and gtx 1060s.

And that's the best that you can get.
450  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Can PayPal transfer funds to a linked Bitcoin Debit Card? on: July 01, 2017, 12:20:10 AM
I think if it's a credit card that receives money (it's VISA) and works with bitcoins then I suppose it should work.

But just before attempting to do anything, ask people who successfully did it.
(Thinking about XAPO )
451  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Newbie wanting to mine LTC on: July 01, 2017, 12:15:33 AM
Litecoin mining is already available for whales only.

Unless you have a few tens of asic devices called antminer L3+
It's for $1370

You can read more about it there and calculate your profits in many calulators online
452  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Question about Ethereum mining on: July 01, 2017, 12:06:26 AM
Difficulty increased and more and more people are jumping into ether mining so the rewards for it decreased.

It's still worth it if you ask me. If you believe in ethereum, keep what you mine until the price gets better and better in the coming months.

That's $80 per month for almost nothing if electricity is cheap in your place (it's about $0.05/kwh where I live) per card !

453  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Creating a newbie guide pdf over the weekend, what do YOU want to learn about? on: June 30, 2017, 11:36:57 PM
That's a very great idea of yours to create a pdf trying to help others and beginners.

Try adding the most asked things in the beginners section. Here's a few:

-How to secure their wallets such as using ledger nanos and such.
-Types of wallets available (espeically the offline ones such as electrum and mycelium.
-How to buy bitcoins.
-Dangers of keeping bitcoins on an online exchange.

That's all I can think of.
454  Economy / Lending / Re: LOOKING A LOAN FOR BITCOIN/ALTCOIN TRADING on: June 30, 2017, 04:28:05 AM
Well I guess by what you type you simply know all about the rules of having a collateral to get a loan and you simply ignored the sticky thread

The rule of "No Collateral, No Loan" means that in order to get a loan you must give collateral that is equal, or preferably higher to the amount you are being loaned.

If you completely ignore this sticky and make a loan request with no collateral, without having massive trust on the forum, the chances of you getting negative trusted feedback and therefore having a Trade with Extreme Caution tag is almost 100%.

So please get a collateral and make sure that it goes by these rules:

What is considered collateral?

Collateral is something that can easily be resold to cover the loan value plus interest should the loaner default on the loan.

- The best collateral is another crypto-currency, such as Litecoin (also written as LTC).  Coins must be moderately traded on multiple exchanges.
- Some digital wares such as domain names can be considered as long as the user cannot recover it.
- Small valuable items that can be shipped though the mail - i.e. gold, silver, iphones, etc.
- Large items, such as a motorcycle or guitar can be used if you live close to the person giving you the loan.  Try localbitcoins.com

What is not considered collateral?

- Items they want to sell.  They don't want it back, so they will default.  It's scammy unethical behavior and will lead to negative trust.  Check their recent posts!
- Items not in hand.  Don't trust a user that promises to give you something *when* they default!  Tracking numbers only show something has been mailed - it could be an empty box.
- Future income.  You can prove you'll make xx coins in the next few days, but nothing forces you to send those coins to pay your debt.
- Identification.  So what if they can prove who they are.  Are you going to spend more money and time taking them to court on untested legal grounds?  You'll probably just walk away, like everyone does.  ID is useless.
- Games codes or similar.  To verify the collateral you need to use the code, which destroys the collateral.  Consider this a purchase, not a loan.  (Post in Digital Goods instead)
- Most new alt-coins or alt-coins that trade for satoshis are not good collateral as they can become worthless overnight.
- Paypal should never be used - they are anti-bitcoin and will rule against you 100% of the time.  Escrow can't even help, as paypal charge backs can come over 6 months later!
- Most valuable online accounts can easily be recovered by social engineering (the user contacting support to say they were hacked, and regain control of the account)  Examples:  Steam

455  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum Wallet Stole my bitcoins automatically on: June 30, 2017, 01:14:32 AM
That's totally weird. You must have some kind of trojan in your pc that caused that to happen.
Or your computer is hacked and someone can control it remotely.

Most of the members of the forum (not including me) use electrum for their daily use.  Roll Eyes
456  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which Sport is the easiest to wager/win on: June 30, 2017, 12:50:58 AM
Sports betting is usually fun when you bet on your favorite teams that you like and follow and know a lot about its players.
If you're just having fun bet on anything.

But if you need solid profits you should bet on a sport that you truly always watch and really know about the players and teams that you can guess properly who can beat who. Cheesy
457  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: In my country the miners have bought up all the video cards Radeon. on: June 30, 2017, 12:49:16 AM
It's not just you. It's in every spot all over the world.
I've been for any rx cards for a solid month now in two different countries. FOUND NONE for a reasonable price.

Even the 1070s and 1060s are running out of stock as well. I just managed to get 2 Gtx1060s for a bit higher price (but I now that today's price is better than next week's).

I really hope that by the end of July this problem gets solved and the price of cards drops back t normal again.
458  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: One Address VS Multi Addresses on: June 30, 2017, 12:25:12 AM
Multiple addresses of course adds a layer of privacy to your life but there's a huge disadvantage at the moment.

FEES !!
What about the fees ? If you're going to move coins from so many inputs (different addresses that you received money to) this means higher fees.

This isn't applied when it's just a single or two addresses but you're kinda tracked at that time.

Usually sellers use multiple addresses as well for each single sale to make it easier to confirm which invoices have been paid.
So it's a matter of self preference.
459  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: I'm looking for people who are interested in creating a new crypto token on: June 30, 2017, 12:20:50 AM
Please before thinking about another new crypto token, take a look at the number of useless no-value ones available on the market.

The only case that you create a new one is that it must add something new to the crypto world. (that's if you want it to have a future).

460  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ALIBABA TO ACCEPT BITCOIN BEFORE AMAZON & OTHERS on: June 30, 2017, 12:18:36 AM
What's going on with these click-bait titles that are starting to spread around the forum ??

The titles means that alibaba is planning to accept btc. Only to enter and find ouot that it was just a result of a survey. Sad
