The code on GitHub is updated to version 1.3 if anyone wants to compile it.

Compiled binaries will be released in the following days, I might change other things before I make an official release.

Current changes:
-remove Alert functionality (
-disconnect from nodes older than protocol 65005 (all pre-fork nodes)
-remove mining button (difficulty too high to be usable anymore, setgenerate still works)
-added additional seed nodes
-add checkpoints

It is not a mandatory update. If you want to use the gui mining button in the wallet keep using v1.2.3.

I am having a problem because mining. I get the money but she did not enter my balance. what is the reason?

print:

The blocks you mined are orphans.

What version is your wallet?

You don't have many connections, that might be the reason. Under settings -> options -> network: check if UPnP is enabled.

If it is enabled then you will have to manually forward port 7391 on your router.

How is called pos 2.0?

Based on Blackcoins pos v2: http://blackcoin.co/blackcoin-pos-protocol-v2-whitepaper.pdf

Hi!
Where it is possible to download a miner for AMD GPU?

There is no public AMD miner yet...

My debug log is only 8MB. Are you talking about the txleveldb folder, or the actual debug.log text file?

What operating system are you running?

Have you tried restarting the client?

Have you tried turning off the client and deleting the debug log, then restarting?

How did you originally download the blockchain? ...From scratch or from snapshot, or from bootstrap?

I think the upload traffic is probably normally high because of a new block syncing every 30 seconds, right? Maybe someone else knows more about this, just trying to help.

It was synced from scratch.

The os is ubuntu server 14.04.

I think that is not normal. A block is usually under a kilobyte. Even if there was a block every second it would not amount to such traffic.

But anyway, I shut down the node. It was not worth it...

I run about 10 coin nodes on this server (including bitcoin with a 90gb blockchain), this kind of thing never happend with any of the other coins.

we support a few coins with seednodes that are hardcoded into the wallets for a few coins ...

the issue is simply that it is done in the hope that it will support the network and backbone - and not for a 'profit' situation ...

Yes that is the plan. That is why I am asking. Its always better to have different users running the seeds under different independent domains. I could get hit by a bus tomorrow and maybe forget to renew nevacoin.pw Smiley

I will contact you asap.

Anyone else that is already running a Neva node 24/7 and has a domain and wants to be included as a seed in the next release, feel free to PM me.

Also I see the vote is slowly getting in favor of proof of work mining forever. From a security standpoint I think that might not be a bad idea. But there is still plenty of time for that to be changed, I am just wandering if anyone has any opinions on the subject...

Argument for proof of mining forever: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rsLrJp6cLf4&

POW could be good for the coin; however Neva would have to grow greatly in value for it to stay POW since no one would mine it with tiny block rewards that have low value. Neva still has time to grow though, under the current plan. If going to POS only, early was part of the thought process of the poll I would be against that currently. Nevertheless, I would not be against going to POS only in the future either. I would just hold coarse and see how things play out. We still need to get on a second exchange...

I am still not completely for PoS only. Like mentioned there is more than enough time to decide on this. Currently last PoW block is 5256000. PoS still has not been tested enough, and in the years to come we will see more development. Andreas gives a good point on the benefits of PoW in the video I linked above.

I contacted bter.com to list the coin for voting a few days ago... Hope there is some response.

But sure enough there will be a second exchange soon, and not a shitty one like yobit. The community is growing slowly, and slow stable growth is always better in my book.

Any seed node candidates for the next release? Smiley

I will release a new update soon (minor fixes, no protocol level changes).

What does the community think about the mining button in the wallet? Should I leave it in? Anyone actually using it? Anyone found a block using the solo mining feature recently?

Also I see the vote is slowly getting in favor of proof of work mining forever. From a security standpoint I think that might not be a bad idea. But there is still plenty of time for that to be changed, I am just wandering if anyone has any opinions on the subject...

I would also like to add additional seed nodes in the code. If anyone is running a node 24/7 with a domain pointed at it please PM me if you would like to be added as a seed.
(I am not planning on shutting down my nodes, I would just like ti see the core of the network more distributed among the users)

Cheers

hey folks,

i'm delisting Neva from https://neva.suprnova.cc

Please withdraw your remaining funds and switch to other pools.

Thanks

Sorry to hear that.

But anyway thank you for all the support to Nevacoin since day 1 Smiley

Been running mintcoind for a good month now.

What I noticed is that it hogs my cpu and bandwith.

This spams 24/7 through the log:

Code:
getblocks 873494 to 00000000000000000000 limit 500
getblocks stopping at limit 873993 a8cb9ddf09d7ed0e288c
getblocks 2663361 to 00000000000000000000 limit 500

The debug.log is soon gonna be larger than the blockchain itself Cheesy

Code:
-rw------- 1 krile krile 1.9G Oct  9 16:06 blk0001.dat
-rw------- 1 krile krile  87M Sep  2 16:11 blkindex.dat

I am getting over a TB of monthly (upload) traffic since I installed this node. (before it was around 200GB with multiple other coin nodes running).

I am running version "v2.0.2.0" (which is the latest one I believe).

I doubt there are soooo many clients bootstraping to the network all the time that they eat so much of my bandwidth. I am running other wallets on the server (most with a bigger networks/blockchains and none of them are doing this) It looks more like some older outdated clients requesting the same blocks over and over.

Can anyone give a solution for this? Otherwise I am shutting this down and sell the coins I guess.

Cheers

Are you continuing development, krile???

Could you told us if you are working in any new feature in the wallet?

Yes I am still developing. Right now mainly focusing on a mobile wallet

Anyone else getting an abnormally high amount a stakes the last two days. I've had 8 with no orphans, when I haven't had any luck since Aug. 12(last orphan on the 22nd).

Probably some big staking nodes went offline at that time. There is a quite significant volatility in the staking difficulty and I am noticing spikes in nodes connected in intervals...especially from germany for some reason...

Hi,
Does NEVA want a vault?
Would there be a bounty on adding NEVA to coinvault.io?

Hi, yes Neva wouldn't mind a vault.

Check PM.

I have the latest wallet version with 32 active connection , today from 15:57 ( my local time ) till 22:29 I found 35 blocks through staking but only 9 of them accepted . This means only 25% my staking are accepted and on block explorer shows that today have 72 orphans and it seems most them are mine.what can I do to reduce this amount ?

I think it is network related, I am noticing different behavior on two nodes, same country, same amount of coins, different ISP, same bandwidth plan, one gets more successful stakes thsn the other. Not sure what you could do about that.

there are also some other less known exchanges like cryptopia

Cryptopia does not have Neva listed. I added a request to list the coin on their vote site.

Please take care when you are trading at Yobit. You may never get your Neva coins again.
They still have not update their wallets and they are probably trading with no existing coins. Better safe than sorry.

Yes be careful.

I have sent another ticket for the neva wallet a few days ago and still no response. They missed their 14 business days deadline to fix it. It has now been 20 business days.

Their support is very unresponsive.

But I think they are trading the coins that were deposited before. That is probably why the price is going up, since people cant deposit new Nevas to sell.

Anyway, better to standby with trading until this wallet maintenance on yobit is resolved.
