261  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: YoBit exchange are scammers and its just a matter of time to disappear (solved) on: March 01, 2017, 05:00:09 PM
Same issue with Nevacoin

An update was made to the code including a fork.

Release was made 17.dec 2016: https://github.com/Nevacoin/nevacoin/releases/tag/v1.4.0

Yobit notified the same day. 17.dec 2016. Proof:

Their support form claims a response in 8 to 14 business days

There has been no reply for over 75 days.

Not just no upgrade, I mean NO reply. At all. Not even "we are working on it" or "sorry it is taking so long" or anything... Just a complete ignore.

Opened another private ticket on 12.dec 2017. Also no reply to this day.

Tried tweeting to them. No response.

Sent a PM via bitcointalk to user @YoBit. No response.

In the meantime yobit listed dozens of new coins while ignoring my and other users tickets to maintain existing coins on their exchange.

Thankfully the exchange volume of nevacoin is moving towards cryptopia.

A warning to all users, withdraw your nevacoin funds from Yobit before the fork (block 291111) or your funds might be stuck with this bad exchange for a long time.

Cpu-Miner for linux/windows source:

https://github.com/ocminer/cpuminer-opt

However this algo is pretty popular and easy to get running on GPU as well, I'm a bit short on time, so I just set up the CPU miner for people to test and work with, I'd be pleasantly surprised if someone could work out the GPU miner and just post it here (without devfee and such stuff) to get a bit back to the open source idea thats behind all those crypto currencies.

And a disclaimer as I already saw some flames in this thread:
I do not endorse this coin, nor am I part of the dev team, the similarity of the abbreviation of this coin is a coincidence.

And another info:
Rewards are 0 for this coin for over 2 more days - don't mine it.

Yeah wow. Great!

Well someone should mine, otherwise we wont get to block 500 Cheesy We can draw straws who is going to burn electricity for 3 days for this

There is not many miners out there yet. Got 2 blocks already on my i7 cpu laptop in about 30minutes of mining.

I wonder how high the difficulty will go once the reward starts Smiley

I have a major stake in it so lets not. This smells like a scam but I like taking part in scam fests. One of the most notable cons of this coin is its infinite supply which makes traditional pumping / dumping practices fruitless as I can generate as more tokens as I wish and slowly dump them at a consensus price like I did with ETH.

How do you figure? From what I checked it has reward halving, which usually means a limited supply... ?

How can you control the coin for make a launch?
I mean.. we have sources and wallet and connection... why cannot mine it yet?

Thanks!

Try to mine and check the error msg Smiley

Ocminer, do you have a stratum cpu miner ready?  Grin You are usually the first one on coins like this.

Yes, everything ready.

But since the rewards are 0 for the first 500 blocks you don't have to be in a hurry - you have 3 more days until rewards kick in.

If everything goes right, I'll publish everything shortly before that.

let me first see how the launch goes, the wallet is working, the nodes .. no forks etc Wink

Just realized. This is your coin now. Ticker OC haha Cheesy

Three more hours... Any additional nodes?

I have 5 connections at the moment on 104.223.117.230

Is it normal that setgenerate ignores the number of cores defined (example: setgenerate true 1)? It just uses all available cores

I saw the another post just now (yes, i finded the answer haha), thats cool, i'm tracking the develop of this coin since the first post here, but for busy time questions i'm very lazy to read another answers hahaha, sorry. Now I'm mining with old video card on my computer at university lab... (GTX470 with some overclock) and... I'm very impressed, i just saw the block explorer right now and the net hashrate is arround 73.236 GH/s!!! Is the biggest hashrate? Becasue, omfg! Thats awesome, the coin is starting to be popular  i think!

Glad to hear you are enjoying Smiley The hash rate is slowly increasing yes, its a very slow and healthy growth. The network node map on the explorer is also impressing, a very nice global distribution of nodes.

untill now there has only been a single 1coin that is alive and well , all the others that you mentioned have been scams of huge porportion and never lasted very long and were uncovered as scams very fast! im not sure if this is just another attempt by the same gents to relaunch the same stuff or not but all together this is still a very bad start for anything  and can  never have anything positive come of it untill it does alot of changing as in the first thing would be its ticker  "ONE" to anything else

Well its a good thing that the ticker is one of the easiest things to change in a coin, especially if it didn't even launch yet. I just doubt this "dev" will make that effort.

Strange though that the 1coin you mentioned picked the ticker ONE instead of 1COIN, my first thought was that numbers were not allowed in the ticker for some reason, but I see plenty of coins using it that also trade on exchanges: 1ST (first blood), 2GIVE (2give), C2 (coin2.1), NLC2 (no limit coin) to name a few.

as you may already know the real one coin https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=820302.0   has been out for a very long time and it is still very alive and kicking so why in the world would you use the same ticker as an excising coin?

So:

OneCoin - the mlm ponzi
1Coin - you just mentioned
and this onecoin...

So we have three one coins, maybe someone should make a twocoin or a threecoin instead

Edit: there is another onecoin: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=200177.0

What a mess...

Just another question... why my wallet is showing staked blocks as "in conflict"? These blocks is the biggest part of staked blocks... Why?

The short but slightly inaccurate answers is they are "orphans."  It really has to do with the unique staking method of this coin.

I like that, unique staking method Smiley

If you read a few pages back you will get more explanations. There is also a protocol change coming with block 291111 addressing this problem.
274  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ONE] ONECOIN | NO PREMINE | FAIR LAUNCH - March 1st 2017 | SHA256 TRIPPLE on: February 25, 2017, 10:54:09 AM
The developer will only be involved in providing the initial source code for a working coin (and compiling the windows wallet), everything else is left to the community: updating the code, developing other services like mining pools, faucets, translations, setting up slack (or similar chanels), getting the coin on an exchange, advertising, leaving the coin to die...etc

Haha good luck with that Grin I think you can not recreate the environment that bitcoin had, a bunch of people doing stuff pro bono, and especially not with that name.

any node ?

Heres my ip, hope I dont get ddosed from bulgaria for this  Cheesy

Code:

Please, can i run staking node on a raspberry pi 3? How can i do it? I already put my wallet.dat file with my wallet info and nevacoin.conf with addnodes from current network on .nevacoin folder. So, can i run a GUI client? If not, how can i monitor the connection and the wallet activity (blocks, stakes)?

You can compile the qt gui wallet, but you have to install all the dependencies first.

1. Open terminal

2. Run:
Code:
sudo apt-get install git build-essential automake autoconf qt5-default qt5-qmake qtbase5-dev-tools qttools5-dev-tools build-essential libboost-dev libboost-system-dev libboost-filesystem-dev libboost-program-options-dev libboost-thread-dev libssl-dev libdb++-dev libminiupnpc-dev

3. Run:
Code:
git clone https://github.com/Nevacoin/nevacoin.git && cd nevacoin

4. Run:
Code:
qmake

5. Run:
Code:
make

6. Wait a long time. If all goes well you will have the nevacoin-qt executable appear in the git directory

OR you can use the daemon: https://github.com/Nevacoin/nevacoin/releases/download/v1.4.0/nevacoind_raspberry_v1.4.zip

The basic steps:

1. Add the line daemon=1 to nevacoin.conf, so the whole conf would look like this:
Code:
daemon=1
addnode=x.x.x.x
addnode=x.x.x.x

2. Copy the nevacoind executable from the zip above into /usr/local/bin (use sudo if necessary)

3. Run nevacoind by typing nevacoind into the terminal.

4. Run RPC commands from the terminal to get info about the node, a few examples:
nevacoind help <<<--- will list all possible commands
nevacoind getinfo
nevacoind listtransactions  <<<<----to check the latest transactions, stakes
nevacoind walletpassphrase YOURPASSWORD 9999999 true  <<<<---- Unlocks the wallet for staking, if it is encrypted
nevacoind getstakinginfo

Good luck!

Can anyone please walk me through the steps to setup the GPU miner with SuprNova?

Suprnova -> help -> getting started.
Same goes for any pool Wink

DNTM

I keep getting the error when I try to run it.

"The program can't start because VCRUNTIME140.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem"

After reading several posts regarding missing .dll files, I thought to share some information with anyone who is ever missing any .dll files. First, you can always do a Google search with the name of needed .dll file, & then download it after you've ensured it's legit/virus-free. There is also a website that I often use myself called dll-files.com. I have never had a problem with any of the .dll files I've downloaded from that website, but you should still always scan them first! For the record, I do not have any affiliation to this website..

Website: https://www.dll-files.com/

None of the reported network hashrates are correct (suprnova, mph, chainz), I can't make heads or tails of the difficulty trying to calculate how long would it take to find a block with my hashrate and at times the wallet syncs slower than the speed of  new blocks being found.

This...

250MHs reported by ccminer, not a single share accepted for hours. What is up with the numbers here, nothing is right Cheesy

I was having this same problem (as other have also mentioned). [Assuming you are mining on suprnova's pool] I tried using the various ports ocminer posted for different rigs (see the XZC suprnova main-page for port numbers), & was getting so many different outcomes with crazy results. In the end, the solution was patience - after about an hour of mining on the proper port, it seems everything has made itself stable, & I'm regularly accepting shares with a steady hashrate.

Well patience did not help here. Left it running over night, not a single share accepted. Just the difficulty jumping up and down all the time.

Maybe there is something wrong with ccminer on linux. Anyone having similar issues on linux?

I think about retaking this coin and start all over. Only need to make first some development about further use of ZOIN in darkweb.

Sounds like a plan. You mean a complete relaunch from 0 or fork this chain?

250 Kh/s or 250 Mh/s with multiple rigs?

The default port for suprnova (1596/1569) has a difficulty of 32 which is huge, even for a 6 card rig (1.3 Mh/s per 1070). I'd argue that's way too high even for 10 minute blocktimes but Zcoin periodically have much faster blocks (closer to 1 minute). Blocks being found faster than you can send shares is wasted hash.

And if you use the lower difficulty port 1598 (difficulty 1) vardiff will soon kick the difficulty way up then way down which repeats over and over again.

Just did a test with 7.54 Mh/s and from diff 1 vardiff jumped to 7.5 > 20.83 > 5.68 > 1.16 > 2.27 > 16.28 > 8.88 > 2.22 > 1.28  > 8.64 in 10 minutes or 70 shares. That's way too much fluctuation.

As a completely different note, my wallet is still only at 13545 blocks after a bit over 3 days.

No rigs, ccminer is reporting 250MHs using just one nvidia 1050ti card lol Cheesy Using linux, compiled from source. Moved the nvidia on another coin now, I wont bother with this weirdness...
