Another news report on the mycoin.hk mining ponzi below[...] Another random news post: BitXChange.ro, [...] Both without influence on the price. Well, before closing for good, mycoin.hk had set the price of bitcoin to ~1.5 USD for the purpose of calculating client payouts. Doesn't show on the charts. The BitXChange.ro case highlights another kind of risk of the exchanges. While their servers may be replicated and protected against external hackers, they may still have a single programmer who could do similar damage. Indeed, like MtGOX and several other examples, their software team often consists of only one programmer. Blockchain.info seems to be another example, given that they uploaded the buggy RNG without any internal review of the code.
Anything you don't control the private key are IOUs at best. Nothing new here.

and even after pages and pages here in this topic we don't have an idea where are our bitcoins If the amount of posts on this forum and proceedings in the real world were related, the world would be a different place.

[...] Right now it's difficult to get any clear information, just stuff badly translated through Google.
Just switch to English in the upper right corner? Granted not exactly the Queens' English, but it looks like they tried to build an exchange: "Effort to build set of Bitcoin trading"

Isnt that the same as what blockchain.info is? Yes, but bc.i can be a bit buggy some times. I got 34 weeks left.... Is that with the latest release candidate? and I'm wondering if there's a way I can pick this bitcoin core wallet up and put it on a different drive...by just copy & paste. to get it off my c drive. Without restarting the download all over....ughhh.... You can. Just point it at the desired drive/folder: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Data_directoryAnd im wondering how I'm gonna get my coins out of green address without paying a fee. maybe importing in bitcoin core once it's connected. Or maybe In blockchain, there I can set the fee default to "Frugal" - A Miners fee will not be included unless absolutely essential. Transactions will be significantly slower to confirm. But Im not sure if GreenAddress is gonna charge when the transaction is made? I wouldn't be surprised it seems like it would.
If you can get the private key from GreenAddress (don't know, never used them), just import it elsewhere. Again, wait. The "older" your inputs are the cheaper they get to send. Recommended reading: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Transaction_fees

pathetic dump attempt. will fail like the others.
A lot less coins brought it down to a similar level.

[...] Sending it? Where? I guess to greenaddress. ?? [...]
You can use a block explorer like blocktrail.com or btc.blockr.io to see where txs go. Just enter your address in the search box. Then compare the addresses you know (Greenaddress, blockchain.info)

BTCe FTW?
The intermediary bank of my bank refused sending money to BTCe since August last year. Are you sending the wire to BTc or to their payment processor bank account? Last time I checked BTCe had no bank account listed themselves. I always sent to Mayzus (sp?).

What are Kraken's thoughts on this?

What can I do?
Wait. Or you could give the latest release candidate a go. It has headers first, so syncing will be quicker. https://bitcoin.org/bin/0.10.0/test/As for your first question, a lot depends where you are. For example in Europe SEPA transfers a free, so you'd save on that fee. For credit card I'm only aware of Circle (haven't used them though).

do you see any "receive version message: /Shibetoshi:0.1/: version 70002, blocks=0, us=[::]:0, them=[::]:0, peer=" in your debug.log files? what wallet use Shibetoshi?
IIRC that's an old Doge wallet, I think their latest is 1.8 by now and that doesn't connect to the bitcoin network anymore. Not sure why they did to begin with. Is there an IP associated with that entry?

Didn't realise systemd is already available in Raspian?
My quick and dirty hack: A crontab that starts the process every x Minutes. If bitcoind already runs it will do nothing, but a log entry. Another crontab takes care removing that log file every so often.
