441  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Locked out of Kraken Account and they arent helping, what do I do? on: March 08, 2024, 04:16:52 AM
Create a scene on social media. Make a tweet on X/Twitter and tag @krakenfx, then create a Reddit thread on the r/kraken subreddit. Companies in general hate negative publicity(understandably so); and giving them negative publicity gives you a better chance of getting things done.
442  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto news sources on: March 08, 2024, 03:58:26 AM
Everything on X/Twitter. Curate your following really well, and the quality of news and general cryptocurrency news updates you'll see will be high quality. That's where I get my airdrop farming information as well. I'm personally against following just individual news sites lol for obvious reasons.
443  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Take Profits! Its important! on: March 07, 2024, 04:28:11 PM
Ah, the classic take profit vs hodl.

There are simply some trades that are meant to be made in a short time span(hence taking profits early), and there are some trades that are made to be held for longer periods of time. There is simply no one-size-fits-all advice for this industry.
444  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Massive withdrawal of Bitcoin on: March 07, 2024, 07:37:26 AM
I mean, that's how markets in general work? An asset's price pumps(bitcoin or not), some people will be taking profit, and the price is likely to have a correction after. What will make an asset's price more stable is mostly more market participants.
445  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are Layer 2 projects worth watching now? on: March 07, 2024, 06:34:00 AM
I personally wouldn't touch Ethereum Layer 2s as investments besides trying to farm their airdrops. There are just so so much Layer 2s that in my case it's pretty much impossible to determine which one will actually win in the long-term. The few times that I held Layer 2 tokens, it's because I got the airdrop, or just for a short-term trade.
446  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Looking for legit bridge between ETH and SOLANA ? on: March 07, 2024, 06:14:19 AM
Have used both of these, just check which gives you a better bang for your buck. Also, there are times when the bridging process took more than 30 minutes lol so don't panic if it doesn't arrive in 10 minutes or so. Other than delays, no problems at all on my side.

447  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Every time a new Bitcoin Block is found, US prints $69 million!!! on: March 06, 2024, 05:21:33 AM
Let me not go off topic, can someone tell BRICS that bitcoin is here to solve there problems and they don’t need to create anything again.

Bitcoin may solve their problems(decrease of reliance on the USD), but let's not forget that they probably would still want some level of control over the currency or payment system; in which they wouldn't have any control with Bitcoin. That's just pretty much it.
448  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Rise of Decentralized Cloud Computing? on: March 06, 2024, 05:10:14 AM
On the top of my head — I think it makes a lot of sense concept-wise, though I'm not really sure if the drawbacks are worth it(and what the drawbacks are in the first place). I really liked this concept back in 2017(it was Golem, I think?) but it didn't really amount to something tangible unfortunately.
449  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you find out cons of altcoins? on: March 05, 2024, 05:17:10 AM
Because research in itself, especially in the tech+finance world, is quite technical lol. That's why most people don't/can't pick the right coins, because they're simply incapable.

Does anyone know of reliable sources that can provide unbiased overview of limitations and potential problems that a coin and their devteam is facing?
There's no one-size-fits-all source to see the cons of a project. It's mostly just use-case and economic viability that determines a project's general viability is in the top-level. And there's the basic stuff like determining if the project/team is fake, and the like.
450  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New US Ruling deems most altcoins, if not all are securities on: March 05, 2024, 03:39:06 AM
a)  The US doesn't run the world (despite the fact they like to pretend they do).  There are close to 200 other countries on Earth where US rules don't apply.  Get some perspective.

There's this thing about US people where they have this tunnel-effect perception that the US is the entire world for some reason. This is the exact same reason why a lot of people in the US think that BTC is useless because the USD is fine — as if 100% of the world's population use the US Dollar lmao.
451  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you worried about the US Government moving BTC? on: March 05, 2024, 02:50:53 AM
1. Maybe, maybe not. Doesn't matter to me.
2. If they sell, sure, simply because it's sell pressure.
3. No. If the price drops, then it's a better opportunity to buy bitcoin for cheaper.

Seriously, after being here for 7+ years, you wouldn't care much about the price. Even if bitcoin drops 20-40% it'll be nothing out of the ordinary.
452  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New US Ruling deems most altcoins, if not all are securities on: March 04, 2024, 04:29:32 AM
Is this the beginning of the end for the Crypto Casino? As Michael Saylor predicted this day would come sooner or later.

Look, I'm pretty sure it's generally a safe assumption that 99% of cryptocurrencies are securities in the first place. Do the masses care? I don't really think so as most people don't even know what a 'security' means in the first place lol. People have been calling for the "end of the crypto casino" since forever.
453  Other / Meta / Re: I think we should have a dedicated Notifications Tab on: March 04, 2024, 01:21:13 AM
We've made and seen more than a dozen decent forum feature recommendations mate and nothing has come out of them. Let's just accept the fact that SMF is very old and that Theymos probably finds the current forum not worth upgrading lol (which I kind of understand? but I guess you can pay a decent dev in a 3rd world country.)
454  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Seed and hardware wallets on: March 04, 2024, 12:54:03 AM
The question is: can we check the restoration words on Ledger Live or, if we've lost them, do we have to send them to another wallet and write down the new words?
I assure you that there are many more distracted people than you think... Not to mention forgetfulness, moving house, unexpected destruction, etc. etc. etc.

Why would you want to check the backup words on Ledger Live?? Typing your backup on your computer or on your phone is a huge no-no. You should only verify your backup on the device itself like I said; even though Ledger wouldn't make a legitimate backup checker on Ledger Live in the first place because it's just such a bad idea.
455  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Seed and hardware wallets on: March 02, 2024, 07:55:08 AM
Last time I checked you can check/verify your seed on your Ledger (you enter in the seed on the device itself, not on a computer/web app).

Anyway, why do you even need such a feature? You should've checked at first setup if you've written down the correct set of words.
456  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How Are You Identifying Potential Coins for the Bull Run? on: March 01, 2024, 07:29:47 PM
And some of those are the aptos, Arb, people, and others who can tell if it's their first time to face or join the bull run and halving, so I am pretty sure that this is also the first time that they will be able to show their ATH high this coming bull run.

Maybe, maybe not. Hard to defeat Bitcoin and Ethereum because both have gained significant market share and are the first in their categories that have boomed. Alt L1s and L2s on the other hand, it's pretty much a battlefield. There's no clear answer right now which ones would actually have long-term staying power.
457  Economy / Speculation / Re: crypto on: March 01, 2024, 07:11:08 PM
You tell us — why do you need to sell so hastily for? If it's something very important, then go ahead. But if you're actually here to "invest", then why sell immediately? And why ask as if we know for sure what's going to happen in the future lmao.
458  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are we in a crypto bubble? Is a possible correction coming soon? on: February 29, 2024, 04:54:33 AM
It's funny how we've been in a bear market for what? 3 years? Then after things bounce up, a lot of people(see: normie social media) are suddenly wanting for a dip as if they didn't have 3 freakin long years to stack up lmao. Some things will really never change.
459  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The impact of Bitcoin ETFs on market and Top Exchanges. on: February 29, 2024, 03:00:04 AM
What is your best way to capitalize on this, and do you think spot Bitcoin ETFs will also have impact other traditional financial systems?

Uhm — hold bitcoin, obviously? Of course, if you want to potentially maximize exposure you can do things like long perps with leverage, but then risk/reward gets bad because of potential liquidations due to extreme volatility.

As for impact, stretch the timeframe long enough then it's likely that gold will get less market share in terms of SoV.
460  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MONEY FLOW Trends in CRYPTOCURRENCIES on: February 29, 2024, 02:44:28 AM
I don't know how to track this money flow, or trend change, does anyone know how or where? What would be the best place to find a detailed information related to this?

You can't really know for sure lol. You can just get a decent grasp on the money rotation by looking at social media activity, and price movement along with trading volumes of the tokens in these subcategories.

Tell you what, though. Just allocate smartly instead of trying to time the rotation. You're likely going to mess it up.
