What are you, a bunch of nerds or something?  Quit using it.  It makes otherwise intelligent people look like little children name-calling.  Find something more clever or just keep quiet.  I would love to see the dudes discussing the NYSE on CNBC being like "TROLL!   TROLL!   TROLOLOLOL!"  Seriously.  This is the reason none of you scored any pussy in high school.

Oh, that was *so* tl;dr.

I have scored troll pussy though. Like sticking your willy in granite. Is that what you're posting about?

Haha you gotta fill me in on the tl;dr man.  I'm not up to date with these abbrevs.
4422  Economy / Speculation / Re: lol that is one sharp spike on: August 07, 2011, 02:39:52 AM
Haha yep.  I lost $4 earlier on a shit-ton of BTC (I'm still amazed it was only $4 given the # of BTC).  I had bought immediately after the initial dump and was shocked that it didn't go up to at least the middle between the pre- and post- dump price.  Signs looked bad, so I cut my losses at transaction fees only and sold.  Here I was, 10 minutes ago, thinking my skills and intuition were brilliant.  I didn't take into account the x factor haha.

Hey! You just worry about that 10hours of prayer..... (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=27500.msg374431#msg374431)
There should at least be 244hours of that by my count

244 hours of prayer for what?  Someone requested 10 hours of videotaped prayer, I asked if they were serious, and they did not reply affirmatively.

I only kid mate..... Basically I counted how many hours it would be from the day of that post up until now.....

Haha.  I think I'd hafta raise my rates with the BTC economy going as it is.   I'll offer a discount if it involves Tom Williams.

A troll is someone that says things (regardless of whether they believe in them or not) in order to piss people and make them strike back, it's kinda like shaking a stuffed animal at a cat and laugh as the cat starts fighting it.

Yeah, I get that, but I'm pretty sure that people living outside of their basements wouldn't know what you're talking about.  This forum acts as the main hub for all bitcoiners who wish to communicate with each other.  The word 'troll' is so commonly used and all it does is add to the impression that Bitcoin is only for the super-techies and the extraordinary nerds.  And, it's used when people have legitimate concerns about Bitcoin.  On one of my first posts about Bitcoin after I got out of the Newbie thread, I made a serious post about the philosophical shortcomings of Bitcoin as a future currency (even though I also stated that Bitcoin was better than traditional currencies to this point).  I got slapped with troll claims and some guy said something along the lines of, "If this guy continues to post and becomes a member of the community, I'll eat my words."  I forget who he was, but he can suck it along with all the other "troll" screamers.  It's immature, it's thoughtless, and it seems like more and more people say it when the other person is actually right.

None luckily Cheesy

Hopefully the prices tanks fully to the $2-3 mark (what I believe its 'true' valuation to be) so more non-speculators can gain interest and begin to actually build the economy rather than mess around with the price. Not that there's anything wrong with speculation, but I think it has hurt bitcoin as a whole to some extent.

Yeh.  I'm hoping that at $1-3 some investors that know that the hell they're doing pounce on this thing and make some intensely awesome and secure sites.

Not unless they get the flash drives out of a drawer in an off site bank level secure storage!. LOL

4428  Economy / Speculation / Re: How much of a loss are you guys in? on: August 06, 2011, 11:56:51 PM
I'm at a break even point.

The only coins I have ever sold are the ones needed to buy more GPU's and hardware. Currently at 14Gigs and holding. Regardless if you believe it or not, Is till have over 75,000 BTC on three flash drives in my desk drawer. The worst that happens to me, I break even and still have a whole lot of hardware!

Excuse me for saying so, but I think (opinion) you're a complete idiot for not cashing out at $10, or even $8, or even right now.  75,000BTC?  I lost a flash drive because of a bad soldering job.  It failed and I didn't even touch the thing.
4429  Economy / Speculation / Re: How much of a loss are you guys in? on: August 06, 2011, 11:32:54 PM
I'm up $138 after investing $100 of personals 5 weeks ago.  138% profit from trading as the price tanks...I'm quite pleased with myself :-D  I'm sorry to hear about your loss  Sad  I'm thinkin' bout solo mining from now on.
4430  Economy / Speculation / Re: R.I.P Bitcoin on: August 06, 2011, 10:01:15 PM
I'm still bullish on bitcoins, and I'm willing to pay 5% above market price to buy them, too bad that I don't have any MtGox USD left and the bank transaction is taking ages.

Wanna buy 16 BTC at $9?
Too bad I didn't see your post sooner.

You're tellin' me, haha.

Hey guys, I just won the IPad bid.  Just letting you know that IPhone is still available.  Ben, the seller is very responsive via forum and email.

Lol fuck the iphone.

This is a bit disheartening... can you tell me what your process for deciding winning bids is? If this is up for auction at least a couple hours warning for other bidders would be good.

Ditto.  Would have bid higher.

When will your site be available to purchase items from again?

Guys, don't feed trolls

I'm trollin' trolls.

I would like to direct both of you to this thread I posted.  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=34921.0
4437  Economy / Speculation / Re: Come hell or high water, I'm holding on: August 06, 2011, 07:42:18 PM
I just want the "real" bottom to come,  so that the trolls can finnally just go away and we can have some peace back here. We all have a serious amount or work to do, and all the fluctuations do is take us away from our projects which are the keys to growing this economy in the first place...

The trolls will never go away. They're not here by accident. The notion of a decentralized, deflationary, uncounterfeitable currency is remarkably dangerous and scary to some people... That's why the trolls are here.

Whoa there. People use the word troll in different contexts. If it is being used in it's correct context why are you so concerned?

You know what context I mean -- calling people trolls in response to a dumb, off-topic, negative, or oppositional comment.  In this case, "correct" context is a matter of subjectivity, and in my opinion, this context is reserved for hideous gnome-like creatures living under bridges.  It's a bandwagon word, it shows no originality or thought, it makes the person who says it look equally stupid, it's too frequently used (especially towards those who support bitcoin but happen to have legitimate concerns about it's current state or future), and it's simply unappealing.  Imagine being a newcomer to a town where everyone is running around calling each other 'trolls.'  It makes the community look extremely weird and I'll bet that it does nothing to encourage new Bitcoin users to become part of it.

I hope it reaches $0.001 so all the people who think BTC is just a way to make USD will go away.

This would cause more people to buy them and therefore raise the price and make USD

Angry Way to let everyone onto my plan.

Dude...You won't be buying the coins when the price drops to $0.001. You simply won't have the confidence.

You're kdding, right?  1000 BTC for $1?  I think that's a risk I'd be extremely confident in taking.
