It depends on who the money belongs to:
 - both of you: you can't force her to use her money for something she doesn't trust. If it bothers you, dump her
 - only you: why does she have anything to say about your investments?
4502  Other / Off-topic / Re: Rant: I love this forum. on: April 15, 2013, 02:48:43 PM
Everything changes when you've got an ignore button as well, you can actually have a rational conversation with people because when the mods don't ban you the people that hate you try and troll you off the board, this is just a well managed forum really that gives power to the users.
So true

I just prefer if a new version comes out that makes compressed private keys (compressed public keys); the ones that start with L or K instead of 5.
Give me a link to a working version, I'll look at it, it shouldn't be too difficult to change

Wow... Well, I may be wrong then...
Give it a try, you'll quickly see what happens: it's around 1 block every 10 minutes
4506  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you create an altcoin? on: April 15, 2013, 02:19:59 PM
I was talking about retarget time, total number of coins and other parameters that are fixed for long in Bitcoin
There is no reason to change any of that.
There is no reason not to try to change all of that.

Please do not hijack this thread for selling coins, make your own thread.

Sorry for the offtopic:
If you need to buy some bqcoins there is a deal right now, and you can get them before they go crazy on the rumored exchange

Lol

Fwiw I found nothing during ~10h at 300kh/s

4513  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Pywallet: manage your wallets/addresses/keys/tx's on: April 15, 2013, 10:08:17 AM
Regarding the public key only, I was thinking, what if you don't know the private key, or do not wish to add it (so it is never seen by hardware or software.) That's my point for adding it to wallet.dat with bogus encryption. Watching only.

I will test the suggested method, maybe that will work if you know the private key. But then, why bother when you can importprivkey using the QT client directly?
You're absolutely right, I posted that just to check if bitcoin-qt accepts bogus private keys/encryption
If it works you'll only have to give the public key

4516  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you create an altcoin? on: April 15, 2013, 06:50:41 AM
I expected at least one alt-coin developer to see this thread and respond, but I am feeling now that they won't do it purely so a new alt-coin does not replace theirs, even if we are newbs here.
Same...

Maybe it's time to create a 'collaborative' coin where all users decide what they want to do
4517  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Pywallet: manage your wallets/addresses/keys/tx's on: April 14, 2013, 11:17:33 PM
Yes it's just an exe file to install
PWI 0.0.3 should install all dependencies BTW

But yeah don't worry I think other people with pywallet already installed will try
4518  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Pywallet: manage your wallets/addresses/keys/tx's on: April 14, 2013, 09:05:16 PM
Pywallet v2.0 released!

I hope you'll like the changes

I'd like someone to confirm that the new update system works on windows
