Clones are inevitable. Some people say that bitcoin will benefit from other crypto currencies, others say that we should focus all of our efforts in bitcoin instead of creating N different currencies. It will be interesting to see if a real competitor comes up with some good improvements on bitcoin's weaknesses. Ixcoin is not the case. I personally don't like it because it doesn't have a real purpose, besides profit.
Thanks didn't find that for some reason. I guess the search is case sensitive here. The search doesn't find anything here...

If I understand correctly: if I want an OP code to be re-enabled, I'll have to make it secure

Thanks for that
My second question is still unanswered though, and I can't find any information about that

All I could find to explain that is 3 lines: LSHIFT and RETURN bugs
On July 28 2010 two bugs were discovered and demonstrated on the test network. The first caused bitcoin to crash on some machines when processing a transaction containing an OP_LSHIFT. The second exploited another bug in the transaction handling code and allowed an attacker to spend coins that they did not own. Neither were exploited on the main network, and both were fixed by Bitcoin version 0.3.5.
After these bugs were discovered, many currently-unused script words were disabled for safety. Are there any more details about this? Is it possible that the official client accept them again in the near future? (at least INVERT, OR, AND, XOR and arithmetic ones)

Ah I misread your sentence. Why do you want that? It's up to the user to double check what he writes... Amounts AND addresses... Just show a warning before sending the coins that the address seems to be a Bitcoin one and it's ok, you don't need to refuse Bitcoin addresses
|

|
- Addresses will start with "j"
Please post the version I'm too lazy to check it And don't do what our new friend is about to do: allowing payments only to addresses above 'j'

I managed to get it working when there's only one input
I read the C++ sources but I can't find any clue (I can't find where the write method of Stream is defined...)

4.9 cents?
That's what Bitcoins will be worth, IF you're lucky. The government is going to ban your little scam currency into oblivion. Get out while you still can. Don't say I didn't warn you. You're a Potato. And your funny haha His funny? No, his funny haha

Definitely, nobody cares about that... I'll make a wiki page (or do it if you want, I'm a bit busy currently) and see what people thinks of it

prevent the conversion to Ixcoin address format. So if it's sent, at least it is possible to retrieve if you own the receiving bitcoin wallet.dat Wat? Even if it is converted you can of course retrieve the coins

WHEN YOU PASTE AN IXCOIN ADDY INTO THE BITCOIN CLIENT, GUESS WHAT HAPPENS? IT GIVES YOU A FUCKING ERROR, LIKE IT IS SUPPOSED TO. IT DOESNT TRY TO TRANLSATE IT INTO SOMEONE ELSES BTC ADDY AND SEND YOUR COIN AWAY. IT GIVES YOU A FUCKING ERRROR MESSAGE THAT SAYS DONT SEND YOUR COINS.
Yeah it was my fault, but their software is a buggy POS, and somehow they actually changed the BTC code to make this normal behavior. This is one of the many reasons I call this scamcoin.
It appears your mistake revealed a bug in the current Ixcoin code. Thanks for notifying the forum about this. We'll include a patch for this in the next update. I understand your frustration but calling it scamcoin appears a bit extreme. Thanks for PMing me the amount loss: 38 IXC. Considering this must be a bankrupting loss to you, I'd be happy to cover the 38 IXC in the hopes you regain faith in Ixcoins. Please PM me an Ixcoin address. [Note: I am not setting a precedent here. Just a one-off ] A bug? It's a Bitcoin feature You just can't copy Bitcoin, modify 3 numbers and expect it to run like you want. Yes, creating a working fork needs some work
