Morocco were really shocking last night. I thought they would have a comfortable win but here we are now.  Hakimi took the penalty really badly and Amrabat shouldn't have pushed the last man unnecessarily. Maybe he wasn't going to be able to score one-on-one with the goalkeeper in the end. But Amrabat must have lost his concentration and couldn't think healthily there. By the way isn't this offside line drawn wrong or am I just missing something? Can anyone understand why and how Angelino can land in Roma? I feel like he was very bad, he was so bad he was way below average champions league player. He is just mediocre at defence and nearly bad at offense. I think Kazımcan can only be good sub, he is not going to hit first 11 that easily. Galatasaray should quickly get 2 new backs, they made above 30 million euros from selling Sacha Boey, they can buy many different good back players. Turkish league isn't that tough.
Maybe the reason why is Spinazzola's injury. Because he has a muscular injury and it isn't known when he will return. There was no other player whose main position was left-back so that must be why Roma were in search of a new player. Angelino was available on loan so they just wanted to go for him. Roma don't like to spend so much money on transfers these days. But could Angelino be a part of the starting eleven there? It is really hard to say. His career has always been average. Yes defense is one of the problems faced by Barcelona at the moment, but they can't do much other than maximize the players they currently have. They don't have a lot of money to get new players and can improve their defense which is easily penetrated by opponents.
In terms of goal productivity, they don't have a problem, but it will be difficult for them to have a good goal productivity if their defense is fragile. The forward line will have to work harder to make up for that weakness.

I don't find Barcelona's defense line quality enough. There is a huge decline in Balde's performance recently. Bayern Munich have the most titles here by far but they don't look they care about the cup much in the recent years. They have been eliminated by really weak teams as well. This is helping us see some different champions at the same time though. The last champion Leipzig said goodbye early this time in last 32 stage.  I wonder what your opinion is about this challenge especially. It is like an early finale to me considering the quality of the teams left. There is one leg and it is going to be played at BayArena. These all pointing towards a Leverkusen win I think. By the way only 3 out of 8 teams left are Bundesliga ones. If we see a surprise winner in the cup it would be unforgettable in its history. |

I disagree with you most of yous guys about VAR
There's still a lot of room for them to evolve and make quicker decisions, maybe one day they'll reach a fully automated decision, without human intervention and in real time
But for now we're seeing the beginning of something good
In my opinion, it's horrible to see a team being disadvantaged by a refereeing error, and with the use of VAR, these errors have been greatly reduced
I liked soccer a lot more in the past, but when I saw one of my team's games, in an important Libertadores match, with grotesque refereeing errors, I lost a lot of my desire to watch and follow soccer. After many years I started watching again
And speaking of betting, soccer can't allow too much amateurism and refereeing errors, the VAR helps a lot with that, when we bet money, we don't want to see mistakes happening all the time
The technology is developing more and more these days. For example they have introduced us a new system called "semi-automated offside technology". This system is helping the current VAR system significantly in debatable offside situations. Like this one no wonder we will see better technologies developed in the future to decrease the number of human error to minimum. I don't think D.R. Congo will be able to eliminate them. Even without Salah I mean. In the quarter finals they would probably face Equatorial Guinea and I think Egypt would get past them as well. But in case of facing Senegal in the semi finals it would be really challenging. If Salah isn't still recovered by then Egypt can say goodbye to AFCON earlier.
