can someone tell me how to find the log file in the boolberry file directory?

ziodberg can you help me? i sent 4900 boolberry to poloniex without a payment ID and they want to see the transaction ID thats in some logfile in the wallet directory or something?

I don't help damn dumpers!!!!

Joking Smiley

I'm helping to everyone, even to pttx Smiley

What OS do you have ? Your log's files should be in your application folder, in case of GUI it called qt-boolb.log, in case if CLI - it is boolbd.log + simplewallet.log.
You need qt-boolb.log(if you used GUI) OR simplewallet.log (if you have used CLI).

If you don't have transaction id, we could still try to find your transaction by amount, that you posted, 4900. Tell me exact time when you sent this money ?
And, transaction id that you have posted before "ab06cd2861606e3cef30c3458bf6cf31688d7f4df184fc0144eac1807b9789e4", where did you get it ? Because it seems to be not in the blockchain...

Anyway, don't panic - if your money actually transfered - we gonna find it, if it not - you not gonna lose it.

Good news!

We have new version v0.2.0.34(b4fe304), with some new features and fixes:

1. We added new tab "Exchange" to wallet, this tab let you see what is happening on the market, thanks to for providing public API, that we use to fetch this information:

Many thanks to user  aradeshworking, who appeared accidently, implemented this feature about a month ago, and then disappeared. Anyway, i know he is reading this thread - dear aradeshworking - thank you!

2. Since now we have market information, i've added current exchange rate to Dashboard and to Wallet, this information seems to be useful:

3. Implemented alias support in wallet RPC API - with new version (and actually any exchange or service) can support withdrawal to alias address.
4. Fixed bug with unset donation flag in COMMAND_RPC_GETBLOCKTEMPLATE
5. Few minor changes, including pruning ring signatures tests&fixes + protocol extension for checkpoints.

Welcome to try new version!

Windows:
Installer: bbr-win-x64-v0.2.0.34(b4fe304)-installer.exe
Zip-archive: bbr-win-x64-v0.2.0.34(b4fe304).zip

Linux:
Zip-archive: bbr-linux-x64-v0.2.0.34(b4fe304).tar.bz2

Macos:
Zip-archive: bbr-macos-x64-v0.2.0.34(b4fe304).zip

PS: Since this update contains important fixes i've pushed alert into the network with information about new version, so now you should see something like this in GUI dashboard view:

+ annoying messages in console daemon version!

I've tried everything I can think of. I've even reinstalled the program, and it doesn't work.

EDIT: Nevermind, tried deleting the entire boolb folder in AppData, that worked.

Hey, sorry for late response, anyway, the problem is in p2pstate.bin file: when you was offline for long time you have huge amount of innactive nodes in your peerlist.
Removing this file helps to get online faster.
Anyway, i think i should fix this issue by connecting to hardcoded seed nodes in case of long time connections fails. Ticket added.

Need help with Wallet. "Failed to load wallet: xxx.bbr does not correspond to xxx.brr.keys". Is i have not made a backup of my wallet. Is my coins lost or can it be fixed?

I guess you mix up your files.
Just remove your xxx.brr file (!!!!don't touch xxx.brr.keys!!!!), and then open xxx.brr.keys.

I just don't get why you start a project because somebody treated you badly?  It doesn't give me confidence in the longterm viability.

Of course everybody and their dog is going to tell you your momma is fat and you are stupid if your coin is competition with the coin they hold.  If you succed they lose money ... of course they'll be mean. Duh  Roll Eyes  This whole "lets work together" idea just doesn't work for currency.  There will be one anon winner.  BTCD, Darkcoin, Blueberry, Monero and whatever the hell else.

I think Annonymint said it best with something like "Currency only works because it lets a farmer get services from a doctor, or a doctor get food from a farmer without both of them needing the product/service the other has to offer at the same time"

The sum of the whole is much less when there are multiple competing currencies in the small space.  I'm ready for this anon race to be decided.

And this whole ... "you disrespected me so I'm gonna go help blueberry and make one master network of all currencies.  Oh yeah - and you aren't invited to be part of it since u were mean" is just.  Silly IMO.  If the idea has merit but the passion is coming from your wounded ego.  Well good luck with that.

Great words!

ps: it's Boolberry, not Blueberry!

Sorry - boolberry.  I always see an image of a blueberry with a face and a lopsided smile whenever it's mentioned.  I think it came from vegietales.  Can I ask where the name came from?  And while one the subject where did the Monero name come from?

Boolberry name came from me. I was thinking that it's good idea to use "boolean" (basic computer data type) as part of the name. But it seems that i was wrong (may be because i'm not native english speaker and can't feel the impression it makes).

Monero name came from tft user, who actually start bitmonero fork, and than lost control. Monero is "coin", "money" in Esperanto language.

Here is the story.

Whats the sense of your post?

The RS deletion isnīt implemented yet.
Implemented core support(which is important), but pruning is not enabled yet since i don't whant to move checkpoint forward to blockchain head with so young blockchain.
It was the same when you guys talked to everyone in rpietila thread that this feature is simply not possible. But when we published presentation you suddenly realized how it works.

Anyway, i think you in partly right - it may looks like we announcing features that is not working. Well.... i think it's time to go. After i'll finish current tasks i think i'll move checkpoint forward and add code for prununing RS. And add some tests, just to be sure that there no bugs Smiley! After that i hope discussion will be over.

If you look at the long term chart, it is clear we still have a long hill to climb, but it is just a matter of getting the message out that BBR has the only cryptonote dev that changed the block format. This is no tweaking of a constant change, but the actual blocks! For those not so technical, this is like replacing the engine while making it more fuel efficient and get more power. In other words not something for a garage mechanic, but rather for an engine designer.

So next time someone is making disparaging comments on BBR, just ask if their coin devs were able to change (dont even need to require improving), just change the block format. That should make 90% of them say something silly and go away.

James

I still don't get it. How is it more efficient/more powerful? Does every block take less hardware space or what?

Hi Jungian!

We had a few innovations on top of CryptoNote technology:
* Different PoW hash WildKeccak that is secure(from our point of view) and much faster. This leads to faster sync with blockchain, compared to regular CryptoNote coins. Try to synchronize BCN daemon with one day blockchain, Monero daemon with one day blockchain, and Boolberry with one day blockchain. You'll see the difference.
* We have privacy improvement
* We have blockchain bloat improvement with ring signatures pruning.

That's most important things.
Also we have a number of secondary features: aliases for address, p2p-based alerting for critical updates, and well... we have more fair(from our point of view) emission curve, compared with BCN and XMR.

Techie question - is it possible to withdraw from exchange to alias (far easier to remember this than copy and paste the long form address). Tried it on Polo and got an error. Raised a ticket there (awaiting a response) however wanted to check that it should be possible?

Technically it's possible and not hard to implement, but this should be done on exchane side and i doubt that exchanges gonna do that, i think they have enough work on the table.

Thanks for clarifying - I'll request they implement it on my ticket (can only ask). It would be a great little enhancement on their side.
I guess most exchanges do a check for valid addresses, and it's easier when it has a fixed length and a known beginning.

+ i need to add alias support to wallet RPC, not a big deal if they really agree to support it i'll extend RPC API in 30 about minutes

Is there any way i can restore this wallet? (sadly i don't have a backup...)

The good news is that your wallet keys file is okay - that means that you won't lose your money Wink
It seems that your wallet data file somehow damaged, so just remove "exchange" file, BUT DON'T TOUCH KEYS FILE (exchange.keys), and just reopen it in the wallet(GUI or CLI, no matter).

Let me know how all finished.

Hello!

We was talked with James last days, well.... it seems that he is really obsessed with his ideas of new project, and this is wonderful to see so enthusiastic people!

But i'm personaly have to admit that i didn't grasped all his ideas and don't have pure vision of this technology. Not yet.

Anyway, we want to show that BBR are opened for interesting projects and developers! We are ready to implement API/integration stuff to let people build some services on the top of Boolberry or cooperated with Boolberry.

James is thinking of building something global, something revolutional!... And this is always hard to do something really new.

Anyway, we (BBR team) wish him a tons o luck to finish the job, and as i said before - Boolberry is always happy to provide help with integration to any project that interested in it! So james is surely wellcome!

Since BBR is implementing some neat tech and the devs are active, thought I'd ask:

Idea 1)

http://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/sponsored-stories/syscoin-building-crypto-economy/2014/08/28?utm_source=feedly&utm_reader=feedly&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=syscoin-building-crypto-economy

..
The regeneration of service fees is also rather important as this feature is what enables the existence of Syscoin in the first place. These service fees are collected by the network and then sent out to all of the miners. These fees are the main reason miners will continue to mine after all the block rewards have been collected, which means they’re also what secures the entire business economy built on Syscoin.
..

Is this a feature that could be implemented in BBR?

Idea 2)

Also this dump and pump that goes on.. Is it technically possible for an idea like: annual or monthly interest for current BBR holders?
This will cause it to be even more valuable as people will hold onto their BBR instead of trying to sell it and make a fast sale or dumping its value.
So the BBR network automatically gives a 5% interest for all people who have BBR or something along those lines.

Any other ideas or comments?
Syscoin - i can't take seriously 18% premine coin.
And i don't  see a problem with mining in future - we have good emission curve that will allow smooth replacement block reward by tx fees.

just my opinion.
