Probably not strong—it lacks special characters. But then, why did the claim page allow it?
I am referring to my original password that I gave as proof that it's my account. My new password is longer than 11 chars.

Define string password.
11 characters, mixed case alpha-numeric, no dictionary words. Not the strongest but still strong in my opinion.

My recovery request was rejected too; it had the same information in it (strong password and my Dwolla ID). The text on the recovery page indicated that no extra information would be needed if the password was strong, so I didn't add any more.
I have added additional information to the request (approximate balance, and the original deposit method), and resubmitted. However, I'm more than a little freaked out by this, and really don't want my account to still be frozen when trading opens.
I'm pretty freaked out too. I've never had anything like this happen to me in my entire life.

I provided my password and dwolla account. My password was strong in the first place so I don't understand why it didn't go through. I doubt I mistyped either. Any idea what I should do here? I put in a new request with my ip.
(edit: Not trolling this time)

Mine was rejected..... I gave my password and dwolla info too in the original request.

Could you do email notifications as well? RSS is kind of old school.

Still not yet. And I was one of the first to register.

The price is always where it should be.

I'd consider 30$ the more ridiculous number out of the two.
there is no economy to speak of already, and the money supply grows by another 40% within the year alone. the 2,6 million coins that are mined in a year equal 80 million dollars at 30$.
that means 80 million dollars have to come in to SUSTAIN this price! (or miners don't sell as many, but that only means they expect to sell it for even more in the future).
I like the bitcoin concept and all this specuation doesn't make it worse, but I'm sorry, this is insanity.
If you really believe bitcoin is a good idea and it has potential, 80 million dollars a year is absolutely nothing. Global FX currency trading volume is 5 trillion dollars PER DAY, that's 62,500 times as large. Bitcoins don't trade anywhere near 80 million per day. It's usually 100k - 1 million, when MtGox isn't down.

I wish the trolls would go away. All they do is hurt the public perception of Bitcoin. They make stupid threads about losing 20k Bitcoins, 400, etc.

Folks,
I've never used it before so am not sure what it's suppose to look like. I imagine it's a streaming graphic?
I am getting this goddly-gook when trying to access the ticker:
{"ticker": {"sell": "14.9400000000", "buy": "14.9300000000", "last": "14.95", "vol": "0", "high": "0", "low": "0"}}
I am using Firefox 4.0. Am I doing something wrong or is it just down on Tradehill's?
Is there another ticker out there that you would recommend?
Thanks, Stew
You need to make a script, app, extension, website, etc. that parses this raw data. Anyways check out http://bitcoincharts.com/markets/

Good thing they are pretty much anonymous. If I were one of them, I'd be afraid to be held liable.
Oh internets. Full of idiots like you. owner-organization: Tibanne Co. As immune hasn't even posted yet...
Do you always refer to yourself in third person?

Someone actually managed to hack into my Linux box yesterday through some SSH hole. Luckily I didn't have my wallet sitting around. I'm amazed that the hole was there by default (I installed SSH and figured it would only work for my username).

I'm calling shenanigans. Magicaltux clearly contacted the hacker in advance of this irc conversation and arranged to pay for him to move the coins to pretend he still has control.
I think he noticed the transfer first and then said he caused it.

33 is the signal of the Illuminati, 42 the signal of the Cult of Eris.
This is clear proof that MtGox is on our side!
MtGox was always on our side! "I fight for the users"

Why 42... is that supposed to mean something?

The Bitcoin client is open source, so shouldn't there be a way to edit the # of Bitcoins you have? I have a plan to make millions doing this.
I want to implement a "Give Me 100 Bitcoins" button, because the difficulty of mining have been getting really high lately and I just wanted to make some quick cash.
You could make it so you click a button that generates two hashes that are 0xABCDEF0123456xxxxx where the X's can be any number. Then in the client you say "If hash is in that range, then the proof of work is good" or something. So it mines two blocks at the same time. There, done. Submit a pull request and you are all set. Since it is open source, you can literally make the client any way you want, and nobody can stop you. Other people would like to have free Bitcoins too so this would be a very popular feature. How about a 'reserved-block' feature? Everytime someone solves a block, the reward goes to the user! It would be much more user friendly as the user won't even have to press a button! That's even easier to implement... just say if (block number % 100 == 0) {sendblock_FAST(reserved_addr);} . This way you get every 100 blocks!! By the way, "%" stands for "MODULUS" which is short for "DIVISION" with a remainder. These are mathematical concepts anyways, kinda difficult. Also it needs no UI and can be hidden. If some people don't like it, they can have a few reserved addresses. Gavin can have 3 because he wrote more code so he probably deserves more blocks.
