581  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mt.Gox? UP? DOWN? miscellaneous? on: June 21, 2011, 03:51:08 AM
Mt Gox. is back up on the charts, http://bitcoincharts.com/charts/

their site is still down...

should be to long till its back up, big question now is what % of the people will go to trade hill

The question is, will Trade Hill find non-Godaddy hosting?
582  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mtgox 2.0 is this thread (play money)! on: June 21, 2011, 01:21:23 AM
Also for the record this game is broken since the USD/bitcoin ratio is fixed and if this would go on long enough the price would stay around $14.29 ($1000/70)

If you solve a math problem you get more BTC. The harder the problem, the more you get.

25 * 25 + 1 = 626.

I now have +0.01 BTC.
583  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mtgox 2.0 is this thread (play money)! on: June 21, 2011, 01:15:08 AM
Why are we using imperi-al fiat money when we have perfectly good bitcoins still floating around?!

The mods will move it to marketplace I think otherwise we could switch.
584  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mtgox 2.0 is this thread (play money)! on: June 21, 2011, 01:14:44 AM
I'll buy that 15 BTC for $15.

Ok sold.

imperi:

$1225
55 BTC

Still selling 15 BTC for $15...
585  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Mtgox 2.0 is this thread (play money)! on: June 21, 2011, 01:11:04 AM
Post your buy / sell orders with the price. Everyone starts with $1000 in play money and 70 BTC. Keep your account in each post so you aren't cheating.

I'll start.

Account: $1000
             70 BTC

Selling 10 BTC for $13 (each)
Selling 15 BTC for $15

Any takers?
586  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am Sparticus and this is My Side... on: June 21, 2011, 01:05:02 AM
WHAT THE ****. YOU ONLY HAVE 151 FORUM POSTS. WHAT THE **** IS YOUR PROBLEM.

edit:

you originally said 300 and I got upset.
587  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Found Hacker of MTGox - IP:210.211.108.213 on: June 21, 2011, 12:56:31 AM
"Hacking" isn't particularly difficult, whether it's making XSS injections or decompiling programs. Amusingly, most of these hackers think they're the greatest and smartest person ever.
588  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "I'm Kevin, and I'm full of shit" [a must read!] on: June 21, 2011, 12:53:20 AM
I know one thing is for sure.

The hacker in question is reading this messageboard and has a smile from ear to ear. I bet one of the people posting is him incognito.

LOL thats epic funny and probably true.

I bet he speaks broken English and doesn't care for this kind of socializing.
589  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / If this can kill Bitcoin, then it wouldn't have reached $100 or $1000+ anyways on: June 21, 2011, 12:11:37 AM
Think about it. If Bitcoin is as strong of a currency as people claim, it will easily be able to weather an event like this. There will be many other challenges in the future, some probably far more daunting.

I truly believe that Bitcoin is a revolutionary, paradigm-shifting currency that can withstand anything, except of course some form of Bitcoin 2.0.

It is impossible for people to lose interest in it, because it is just that awesome. If planes were banned in the 1910s for being dangerous, do you think people would stop making them? No. A peer to peer currency IS a great step forwards, or at the very least a great alternative to the established way.

590  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'm MtGox, here's my side. on: June 20, 2011, 11:29:10 PM
I'm just imagining all the hungry journalists/bloggers/reporters watching this thread, waiting for juicy things to come out.

Carry on guys.  Cheesy
591  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MTGox Is Gone Forever.... ? on: June 20, 2011, 11:18:31 PM
I'll buy all your remaining Bitcoins at $5... they might only go for $1 later!!
592  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Smile, we are in the TV on: June 20, 2011, 09:56:42 PM

LOL. This hack got us soooo much easy publicity.
593  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: All this rage and BTC valuation is almost back where it was before the event. on: June 20, 2011, 09:39:02 PM
My prediction:

There will be no fallback, or at most a few dollars. So essentially none.

Prices will stay above $14 for the entire day.

If I'm right, I'm going to quote myself and laugh at all the retards who think it will go to single digits.
594  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: TRADEHILL COMPROMISED - HACKER ATTACK IMMINENT on: June 20, 2011, 08:19:03 PM
Where are the forum moderators?  Complete nonsense thread.

The moderator actually posted the link somewhere else.

1. People, please donate to the food bank.
2. Gavin - please expose stats on how many users are eating food from the food bank, at what rate, are they looters/parasites/real hobos, and what is the plan to keep the food bank feeding. I for one would like to see a graph of its stock. If these are freeloaders, let's do something about it. If these are real hobos, I'd like to see a food bank budget/spending plan. Perhaps we need to lower the walking distance to zero for the hobos and really allow minimal amounts of food consumption (snacks, if you will), and with a little exponential decay could keep sending smaller and smaller snacks to an infinite number of people.

Or have hobos reached the stage (growth wise) that it's impractical maintain a bank of free food?
oh stop it with your right wing libertarian rants

His private army disbanded and he is still sore about it. Member count dropped from 1 to 1.

597  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is BTC getting bad press? on: June 20, 2011, 08:08:06 PM
Let the mass scare.  Buy low.  Keep buying low.  Put back into the markets.

Or sell high.

Either way the coin isn't dying, so keep putting money in BUT secure yourself people Smiley

Thanks man, we need more guys like you here.  Seems like it's nothing but haters lately.

No offense, but aren't you a hater 6 times out of 10?
598  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: TRADEHILL COMPROMISED - HACKER ATTACK IMMINENT on: June 20, 2011, 08:04:57 PM
Good times.

Password change time again everyone Cheesy

Even if it is fake, maybe everyone should just get used to changing shit hourly.

People said it was fake last time, and we saw a blog post just like this 2 days before the sell-off.

The forum looks like a childrens playground currently.

Currently? Don't you mean always?

LOL.
