461  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Optimistic Attitude on: September 01, 2018, 07:53:33 AM
Now that the whole market condition is highly disgusting and discouraging, what attitude do you think both investors and bounty hunters should have? In my own view, I think there is a need for optimistic attitude. Many are pessimistic as to whether crypto market will I ever recover. Many crypto lovers keep asking themselves will crypto market ever recover? . The way I look at it is that we need to be highly optimistic for a recovery for better profit making. I don't know if you agree with me.
Please let me know your opinion.

People who fully understand long term goal of cryptocurrency do not have pessimistic attitude about their investment. Yes, optimism goes a long way but its difficult to take a pessimistic individual and turn them into optimistic, unless they choose to do so.
462  Economy / Economics / Re: Government should implement blockchain technology to prevent corruption. on: August 31, 2018, 07:27:26 AM
Blockchain is a good technology that will be use as a tool of transparency to every transaction being done. The government should know and develop a system like this on their system. This will eradicate corruption or transactions being made under the table because there will be a transparency on every transactions and how much money is involve. The budget of the people will be obviously utilize to its intended purpose. Would you agree with this idea?

First you have to get rid of the corruption and corrupted individuals before deploying blockchain technology. Although it can help, you first have to figure out your way out of corruption. corrupted individuals will just corrupt blockchain technology and there would be no transparency. Government will implement it sooner or later but it won't be to eradicate corruption or there would be only an illusion of it.
463  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is the Market Finally Uptrend? on: August 31, 2018, 07:21:04 AM
The bear market have lingered and has made many people lose faith in cryptocurrency. This is evident in the number of sell off recorded for the past few months. However, signs of recovery are beginning to emerge; BTC have crossed $7000 and still remain strong. Similarly, Ether have started showing strong signs of recovery after depreciating significantly for the past couple of weeks. Can we therefore, say that the much awaited upward trend is here?

What is your opinion?

It's too early to assume its uptrend but it sure seems like we're heading in the right direction. There have been few very good news regarding bitcoin in the past few days that have really helped the price and this should continue and we will call it an uptrend within few days or weeks.
464  Economy / Economics / Re: Would a global disaster increase or decrease the Bitcoin value ? on: August 30, 2018, 01:47:46 PM
Hi ! First message here.

If a global disaster would happen on earth ( And I somehow don't wish it ) Would the value increase or decrease ?

I'm not talking about solar flares or EMP. But more like big wars or great natural disaster.

What are your opinions on the subject ?  Cheesy

given that financial sector is completely dependent on the internet, I don't think internet would be affected although there would be major disruption in network that may keep people from going online which would result in bitcoin price drop out of fear. There are other things to consider like location of "the great natural disaster" lol.
465  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: US Presidential Candidate Taps Bitcoin and Ethereum on: August 30, 2018, 01:43:05 PM
It seems like We now have the first US presidential candidate who accepts Bitcoin and Ethereum, members of Congress revealing their crypto holdings.

Andrew Yang, the “Humanity First” candidate for president, is now accepting Bitcoin, Ethereum and all ERC20 tokens to help support his bid for the US presidency. Supporters can donate to the American entrepreneur’s campaign by following the link for Yang 2020.

lol. I don't know how some people consider this a good news. They're asking for charity in eth, btc. not very different than people who ask for charity in bitcoin on ytube. at least latter delivers. might create fomo. not sure

I think that has to do with the morgan creek news whose ceo believes bitcoin would reach $500,000. I wouldn't take it as major uptrend but keep watching and see how it acts in few weeks but definitely a good news for investors.
467  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think if Facebook releases its coin? on: August 29, 2018, 06:21:04 AM
Maybe such an issue has already been met, but I have not heard. What do you think if Facebook releases its coin? Is the success of this coin?

If it does happen it will gain huge value due to Facebook being one of the biggest social media company out there. but what would be the purpose of such coin for facebook and its users? I don't think they have not contemplated this but there is no use for facebook. last time I checked people were losing interest in facebook due to their bias so who is to say they will still be here in few years.
468  Economy / Economics / Re: Stop talking about cashless society! Let us preserve mother nature! on: August 28, 2018, 07:29:08 AM
This is the problem with industrialized countries they are the one who are mandating that we need to preserve and conserve natural resources for the benefit of the next generations to come. However, they are not worrying when they use too much electricity or power with the ambitious move to make a cashless society. How will they do it without using the natural resources to power up their digital equipment? And then there is no absolute cashless society because anywhere you go you will going to need physical money for a medium of exchange especially in times if there are natural calamities like earthquake, floods, storm and etc. where power could be affected by these events. So they are just really ambitious and damaging our mother nature sir/maam.

they will use renewable resources to power up their digital equipments. Where did you hear this idea of cashless society? We're still very far away from going completely cashless but it's consumers and businesses who get to decide whether they go cashless or not.

469  Economy / Economics / Re: Why do older people like investing in Gold/Silver? on: August 28, 2018, 07:08:23 AM
I'm not one who would invest in precious metals, but I have noticed that a good amount of the older generations are pretty keen in investing in these metals. They see it as a way to bet against the market, and a security that will always be safe -- even in the times of a market downturn/country failure as a whole.

I personally wouldn't even want to buy these metals in those events, as I don't see the reason to. I'd rather invest in securities that go up when the market shits itself (Payroll lending companies and so on and so forth)

Does anyone here know the reason behind people loving precious metals?

Unlike paper currency gold has retained its value through ages and old people see it as something they can pass to their next generation. It's an excellent hedge against inflation since it price increases when cost of living rises. Whenever there is geopolitical certainty you will gold price increases and people invest in gold. Lets say economy collapses tomorrow and paper money loses all its value, gold is what will save you and help you buy your daily bread. There are many uses of gold and silver in tech industry as well as other industries and some of them we haven't even heard of yet.

I don't think the same way but I think that's what older generation thinks from my perspective.
470  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: HACKED, lost ETH, following any leads I can. Help appreciated. on: August 25, 2018, 01:03:16 PM
As the title suggests, I was hacked. It was my severance pay that was going to be keeping me going while looking for a new role. I'm running out of leads, and I'm pretty bloody desperate.

Details

1. Received ETH stakes email, took me to website that wasn't reported fraudulent at the time. Didn't even think about it, but I didn't think I entered any wallet info.
2. Yes I'm an idiot.
3. Literally got a new cable for my Ledger Nano yesterday, they managed to clean me out about 12 hours prior to moving the funds over.

Money was moved to ETH address, then Shapeshift and then finally Monero, to these addresses:

Website is registered on Gandi.net, whom I've contacted. http://whois.domaintools.com/xn--etherem-y24c.com

I've posted all over Reddit, and anywhere else I can. I'm not a complete noob, but also not overly technical so I don't know where else to look. IP addresses seem to be the last option?? I'm trying to figure out a way to send a message with XMR but I even emailed one of the devs of Monero and they say that's not possible, just to beg the thieves to return the funds, as it was over 30ETH. Cyber detectives? ANYTHING.

sorry for your loss but I think there is very little anyone can do to help you. You can try begging them but it rarely works. perhaps someone can help you but I highly doubt it.
471  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum is just Shitcoin, coming down 100 dollars. What do people think of this on: August 25, 2018, 01:00:05 PM
This morning I read the news in https://www.tapchibitcoin.vn with CEO Bitmex saying, Arthur Hayes says Ethereum is just Shitcoin, coming down $ 100. The truth or lies of Bitmex CEO, Arthur Hayes on ETH?

I mean $100/coin won't be considered a shitcoin if you ask me. For something to be considered shitcoin it has to cost pennies compare to what it is today. I don't know what his motives are behind this, probably trying to bring more attention to his exchange.
472  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what solutions do make to cover Loss on: August 24, 2018, 03:27:43 PM
Personally , I lost nearly 1500$  from day trading. I do buy back theory now to recover the loss and invest on potential ico's. now i am going on a slowly steady way ,  if we get greedy then  we end up with nothing.

whats your solutions do you do for cover the loss?

If you sold and lost money then you just have to wait until market recovers. It's probably not the best time to sell as market is down and you should've held. 1 btc is 1 btc so you'll never end up with nothing. patience is the key here.
473  Economy / Economics / Re: What will happen to global economy when crypto becomes global currency? on: August 24, 2018, 01:54:11 PM
If and when cryptocurrency finally becomes an official global currency, how do you think it will affect the global economy and the economy of each countries? Will it help improve the economy better than fiat or will it still need help from fiat?

crypto or bitcoin? banks can come up with their own crypto that would replace fiat with ripple for example.

that may be far fetched idea to some but I don't think it would really effect anything besides people using crypto instead of fiat to make payments. Most of the transactions will be done digitally just like they're done today just more secure. . . we would see side by side market of crypto and fiat before that happens which is already happening.

474  Economy / Economics / Re: Different between Cryptocurrency and Banking sectors on: August 23, 2018, 03:50:03 PM
Saving money in a savings account is like putting money in a pocket with holes. Banks only give you interests that are lower than the inflation rate. It‘s how they make money. You are better off investing in ventures (Crypto currency) that give a return higher than the inflation rate.

You can earn a lot of money from the bank through savings but only if you start from a lot of money in the first place. Whereas in crypto you don't need to have that big of an investment, however, it's volatile market and there is more risk involved but that's not important. most important point of crypto is no middle man and you have complete control over your assets.
475  Economy / Economics / Re: what your opinion about this? on: August 23, 2018, 03:46:50 PM

yesterday the American Stock Exchange (SEC) "REFUSED" Bitcoin funds were rotated on an exchange together with gold, copper, and silver. that's why yesterday Bitcoin dropped in price
(please correct me if I'm wrong), what your opinion about this?

There are too many people involved who are trying to keep bitcoin price low. Perhaps they are thinking that people would eventually lose interest and that would bring the bitcoin price even lower. A lot of people were waiting on sec so their refusal could be the cause but not necessarily.
476  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: EOS at $36 by the end of July on: August 22, 2018, 03:30:05 PM
The billionaire and pioneer of cyber security John McAfee is already well known in the world of blockchain for his thundering predictions, including the one saying Bitcoin has to $500 000 in the next three years, John added that he sees EOS stakes at $36 by the end of July.

lets hope he is not as wrong about btc as he was about eos.  Smiley It was little bizarre for him to make that claim if he did given that market was still struggling in july for the most part but that's not the first time. unless he meant next july.
477  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin is so resilient (while ETH is not)? on: August 22, 2018, 03:25:45 PM
I know lots of ICO are not so successful and that affect the price of ETH but Bitcoin is slow among other disadvantages.

Then why ETH drops so low but Bitcoin can stay such strong recently?

Given that most ico use eth and then people sell them for btc. altcoins low price is just another disadvantage for eth but that's not the only thing.
478  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where do you get your cryptocurrency news? on: August 21, 2018, 01:08:38 PM
There are no specific sources, but the Internet today is unlimited. In it you can find absolutely any news about the cryptocurrency.

be careful. with unlimited internet it also opens a door for unlimited rumors that may or may not be true. I generally don't trust one news source and go back and forth between this forum and few other news source including but not limited to social media.
479  Economy / Economics / Re: Why not just a parallel Bitcoin economy? on: August 18, 2018, 03:49:43 PM
We're already heading towards what some may label as parallel economy but if people aren't spending then it'll get crushed. I have seen many famous people on youtube using bitcoin address to ask for donation/payment. I think this movement is growing and it will only get bigger. I don't see how it can completely replace fiat either but something like parallel economy is where we're heading once mass adoption is done. Most important part is education. I think there are too many bitcoin illiterates that needs to be brought on board.
480  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Bitfinex a SCAM? on: August 18, 2018, 03:41:56 PM
most big exchanges use bots, does that make them a scam? I don't think so but sec might have different opinion on this.
