Thanks for explanatins on ZED horses. So in the end, they are still practically just plain NFTs with characteristics but they don't really develop or evolve which is a shame after all these years NFT is still so static (I don't know how else to explain).

Actually all the PR on ZED run says provably fair but I couldn't locate anything about provably fair mechanism... maybe I can't find it? It would be also slightly disappointing they don't use blockchain cryptography/hash function to make provably fair results. Which is the whole point of crypto gaming supposedly!!

Not too certain if you are expecting them to look different from race to race with the same characteristics.
They have their genetics passed on down from horse to horse when breeding them. So not sure if you are considering this as those are characteristics not physical but statistically there are advantages passed on down the lineage.
Axie Infinity they were evolving or as most would see it growing your monsters.
Concerning about the provably fair mechanism. Are you certain about that slaman29?
Maybe best to do the research from their own main site.
Here it is: https://zed.run/ and/or contact their live support since they can offer the support you need as this is their game and the site just offers their game to place the bets on.

Have been watching this for the past 15 minutes a livestream done when they first were trying to garner attention to this new way to horse race with the NFT market just starting out in this field of play-to-earn gaming:

ZED RUN Live Stream
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1b6BzhnNtWY

At nearly 12 hours of footage from their official youtube channel, this should give you enough information you so desire (as well from their website) to get to know how the racing system works.
462  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ETF officially approved! on: January 11, 2024, 12:44:07 PM
It seems the link or the page was hacked because the PDF file is gone or SEC just intentionally removed it

It's trending on Cryptopanic and FB groups about this news but I can't see the price surge yet maybe we will see it after a few more hours?
However, some people said it's fake news but I found this statement below.

Ok, I get it the link was down due to heavy traffic which is why the page suddenly 404 error.
This was a day the Securities commission will never forget. And those in the cryptocurrency communities will never ever let them live this down.
They have posts of updates then have them taken down.
Where they hacked? Can you trust what you are seeing from them?

That level of knowing forsure of what they are telling us is too far gone at this point.

A few days ago I posted that very soon this ETF will go a little way and bring about the beautiful days of Bitcoin.  Many did not believe then.  Looked at it with disdain.  But my words are true, Bitcoin ETF has been approved and the price of Bitcoin has now become 47 thousand plus.  Now we can expect Bitcoin to pump big again in 2022 and break all its price records.  I have given the link of my previous post below.

Post link :- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5471685.msg63056979#msg63056979
Price movement was not what many were expecting it to right after the approval was done.
It has been along time for this day to finally arrive so bated breath was inorder prior to it actually happening.
Is this it or just another one minute to have it discussed on the senate floor to have it thrown out after waiting half a decade? Well then, now we have our answer.
But if many thought it would be an instant 2x was sorely wrong.
Possibly wait for a major event in the bitcoin journey to happen just so the government who approved it this day can say it is legitimate to back since it is approved by their own law.
463  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 11, 2024, 11:54:47 AM
I think market, again, might have surprised most participants.  Many expected a huge pump / dump upon approval.  But we went sideways.
And instead of BTC price action shitcoins started pumping. funny how that works.

Market is waiting for the Twitter message from SECGov.
Fake ETF Approval message at Twitter -> green candle
No message at Twitter -> sideways

Perhaps the point is that the official attitude towards Bitcoin has not generally changed when it comes to the SEC (Gensler), but as he himself says, the approval of the spot BTC ETF is actually the result of the fact that they were forced to do so due to the court decision in the case of the Grayscale lawsuit which they lost.

Besides, when someone says the following, it doesn't really encourage the market (investors) who still respect the opinion of people like Gensler.

"We did not approve or endorse bitcoin," Gensler said. "Investors should remain cautious about the myriad risks associated with bitcoin and products whose value is tied to crypto."

In fact, he said that bitcoin "is primarily a speculative, volatile asset that’s also used for illicit activity including ransomware, money laundering, sanction evasion and terrorist financing."

And Gensler sought to make it clear that these ETF sign-offs don't pave the way for any further action from the U.S. securities regulator.
"It should in no way signal the commission’s willingness to approve listing standards for crypto asset securities," he said. "Nor does the approval signal anything about the commission’s views as to the status of other crypto assets under the federal securities laws or about the current state of non-compliance of certain crypto asset market participants with the federal securities laws."
Heard this too and it seemed that Gary was forced into approving it, just like the video i posted a link to earlier inwhich his wife dresses him since he doesn't have a choice in what clothes he wears and has his ass wiped right after he poosies afterwards.
He knows he is still getting fired whether he approved it yesterday or not.
That is a given at this point.
Since the hack and having egg on his face since they were the ones toting high level of security when they offered none for their own property and breach of operations via an outside source is appaling at any level he wants to swing this or spin it.
He f0rKed up so now his neck is on the line for this one.

Thanks spot BTC ETF on finally being the last nail in the coffin for this absolute clown and out of our lives forever.

^^
You mean they don't already in LoL and DOTA2? Inter-regional play would be the next step for any sports whether that be in real (think of what UEFA is all about) or in the virtual space of what esports is today to reach that next level and expand it's viewship.
I mean, isn't that what sports is all about: Getting as many eyes on the matches being played thus bring in a larger fanbase.
The whole purpose of sports started from the very beginning that being the Olypmics.

Anyways, we have the European qualifiers ending today for this tournament.
https://www.hltv.org/events/7394/pgl-cs2-major-copenhagen-2024-europe-rmr-open-qualifier-2

Didn't know this was a single elimination contention tourney until i visited the page on HLTV.ORG above. Grin

I don't know if you could call it dodging Tom. But UFC fans could tell Tom is in no way gonna have a chance to win if Dana puts them in the cage. Dana decides on the fights, he couldn't see Tom as the PPV type. Stipe and Jones are preferable.
Judging from Tom Aspinall's last performance against Sergei Pavlovich it is a master class one, he is more technical than Sergei Pavlovich that is for sure that is why he has a chance against Jon Jones in my opinion, I can say that he got a chance but still Jon Jones is another beast with technical striking and grappling so for sure it will be a great match to behold that is why for me I can not wait to see it, and the only thing stopping us from seeing it early is Stipe Miocic,
WOW! We got a new event this week it was really a long holiday break and sure many fighters pretty much need this long break right now but they also need to fight just to get their salary going, yeah this is an interesting fight for sure as Ankalaev right now got an ugly record of Draw and No Contest in his last fight he needs to really focus in this fight as for sure Johnny Walker's athleticism isn't a walk in the park,
For sure this new event will be lit, I only wish Magomed Ankalaev to be more active with his striking, or even work out on pressuring Walker with takedowns, because Johnny Walker surely can be dominated on the ground but for sure he is ready with those takedowns,
Another fight that is going to be OK with me is the Co-Main Event Matheus Nicolau was recently defeated by Brandon Royval who was defeated by Alexandre Pantoja sure this fighter is interesting because before that lost to Royval he got 6 wins streaks, while Manel Kape has sheer will have 4 consecutive wins now, but against Nicolau this is a fight that is pretty much hard to predict that is why it is interesting,
Truth be told owengtam09 I was not too excited to see this card when I first heard about it, being the first fight event of the year and all with the fighters having all that time off for the holidays and two extra weeks afterwards you would be thinking octagon rust.
But no, it will be fine and the fights are starting to grow on me too.

Mape was the fight I was wanting to see aswell since he had three cancelled fights last year and then fought Felipe Dos Santos and won. So he is back on my interest of a fighter radar again.

As for all this Aspinall and Bones Jones talk, it has been all talk so far.
And that is all it has been and to me.
This is quite boring to hear from these two if they are not going to throw down.

What I don't understand is how does the phone number come into play?  How was the phone used rather than the normal email/password login method if 2fa was not enabled?  Did the "hacker" send a text to Elon and say "I forgot both my email and my password, please let me disseminate critically important trading info to the general public immediately"?
Odds are it was a spoof confirmation.
No, it was an old phone number used by their X account and had an account recovery done.

https://www.cnbc.com/2024/01/10/secs-compromised-account-was-not-due-to-breach-of-xs-systems-company-says.html

Somebody is getting fired because this had caused $90million undetermined lost due of being incompetent.
Why are they relying of announcements on a site such as twitter/X anyways to make it completely legitimate?
Shouldn't it be made on their official SEC government site?

Get that meme of woody and buzz "Idiots. Everywhere" ready.

I doubt it - they're just explaining the "hack" or "lack of hack" since their system was implicated.  What I don't understand is how does the phone number come into play?  How was the phone used rather than the normal email/password login method if 2fa was not enabled?  Did the "hacker" send a text to Elon and say "I forgot both my email and my password, please let me disseminate critically important trading info to the general public immediately"?
The word on wall street is gary sold the SEC's phone number used for confirmation (account recovery mode!) to the hacker on the dark web.

Visit Senator Hagerty X feed. He absolutely owned him in that tweet for not taking his own advice.

The first ever CS2 Major RMR Open qualifiers are happening right now!!

After a long and cold break, finally some esports is back!
Already been few upsets as OG and Heroic are out but there are 4 spots to be taken for the closed qualifiers!

https://www.hltv.org/events/7393/pgl-cs2-major-copenhagen-2024-europe-rmr-open-qualifier-1
Thank you for the update on the CS2 genre coming back to the fray with new tournament action.

Placed a parlay on the two later matches I caught but didn't realize they were just bo1 and betting while half the map was done for both matches.

@sunsilk
Ah I see. But usually if an org is successful in the other genres they can apply their victories funding into their DOTA2 endeavor if they wish to do so.

Wasn't Faze clan starting to scale back their operations in Esports?
Maybe they have since recovered and not going bankrupt from the videos I last watched about their company:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=unEZS2GIYW8
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wBwGScoPs74

As 5-9 months ago is very long time to make a comeback in Esports for any team.

I answered today a question from a new FBC user on Premium benefits, but because I see it being asked all the time, I think I want to clarify for the benefit of everyone.

1. Please read the whole page under PREMIUM tab to understand how the system works. FUN tokens unlock progressive bigger benefits the more you own. But also, levels unlock with days you HOLD (you never sell). Max benefits are unlocked after 360 days. So you actually don't see anything instantly as you even need to wait 1 day to unlock first level benefit.

2. Extra 25% interest is NOT on deposits, but on total interest rate. So 25% more interest means instead of 4.08% base interest, you get 5.1% max base interest. This is per annum.

My advice, FUN and Premium are longterm things. That makes it worthwhile is 12500. Buy a comfortable amount and just be patient for 360 days. Then enjoy all the free spins and extra cashback and interest Smiley
This is the exact amount that I ended up purchasing just so to try out the concept of these Fun tokens and their use on the site.
Find it abit concerning they ask you to purchase 37500 the next round so to get that 25% increase of that interest on deposits though. Think it came out to just over 0.005btc which is quite abit just to complete the test out phase which I find out is 360 lockup of the tokens. So lets round it off to a year then.
Does seem the freespins are the way to go as it gives you a small amount of free bits and lottery tickets.
I don't think I can win $200 worth in bitcoin from just doing the task of free btc tasks on the hour.
But trading in your Rewards points does raise your amounts for this free task of hi-lo game.
Will see how this goes but not going to put anything more unfortunately just let it sit and accummulate of what I already have on there.
Who is TheQuin you are all talking about? They are a developer on the site who moderates this thread for them on the forums?
Thought that would be the OP wetsuit. As their PR person just posted one above this one and probably doesn't answer such trivial things.

It weirdly still doesn't work for me, flashing so I can see something but I think it's a loading issue as I remember this also happens for some software but works perfect on my phone. Issue for me is I need to use SB on particular computer so not possible to get other device.

Guess I need to get a fix but anyway so those horses are NFTs? Yours or the sites? Does it use cryptography for results outcome??
Found some info on it for you as with these kind of new features offered on the site Steve was the one I would go too so to get a very through response from. But they are away for awhile unfortunately and asking live support about such a new feature usually get a "hold on I'll check that for you" and me waiting for awhile and get a "we are not sure but will email you back when we get more information on this" response back.
So I will save you from going through this with the following links I had found looking for the info for myself:

More on the are these NFTs and what technically these are:

An actual livestream these owners do for their ZED Run horses they bred and/or bought:
ZED RUN | NFT Digital Horse Racing

Hope this information I have provided has helped you out atleast a little bit.
It an interesting concept and to feel like your betting in the future using NFT & blockchain technology all at the same time!

UFC Fight Night: Ankalaev vs. Walker

This time Ankalaev will not give Johnny the patience, no more No contest, times wasted. They both do their best to KO each. Extend to 6 rounds if possible.
Six rounds, that will be a first!
Johnny has the cardio and he did get robbed in his last fight by the early stoppage from a misinterpretation by the  referee. So it will be interesting to see what his mindset is like for this fight.

As for the other fights with Bones and Aspinall. Those are still too far away, also with speculation on who these fighter's opponents will be, it seems we aren't even certain within the final fight week from last year's cards showed us with so many cancellations prior due to illness or injury.
UFC 300 schedule is really a mess and many are just giving up on trying to guess what will happen they have been talking about International fight week preparations instead.

X (Twitter ) Ensures that the SEC account has been compromised and that two-factor authentication is not enabled on the account.

Is it legal, that twitter announced an account has no 2FA?
I am certainly not so sure about that, but i think everyone is trying to get their hands clean from the incident. No one wants to be a suspect Undecided.

At this rate he will be there til next week.

I'm not an expert but how... how they knew @SECGov tweet is fake?

Did Gary Gensler called the investors first before tweet it to the public?

https://twitter.com/therationalroot/status/1744858615993815428

I'm no expert either but maybe some shorts got wrecked on the way up and other traders thought it was due to investors selling the news and decided to get out and sit on the sidelines to watch it play out?

https://twitter.com/StreetTraderJPP/status/1744885427298042139

You and I know this has all been a rouse from the very start.
This is just how when crypto and corporate clash.
That is a fact.
Just look at Mt.Gox, hacked then what Justin Sun is doing with his exchange, hacked too.
Didn't Binance also get hacked before or was it after the SEC made CZ step down as CEO.
It is all some sort of manipulation at play because that is just how the government rolls.
SBF must be laughing right now with #FireGaryGensler & #SECManipulation trending right after, can't see anything to do with spot getting an inch of clout tomorrow.

Guys, we're all done with the vacations. Where are the esports fans here? Okay I'll start the year out for Dota 2.

Tundra Esports bids farewell to their current roster. How's that for you folks? IMO, that's expected and it won't work at all when they've built that current roster although it's got the potential but it's entirely different and hard to compare with their former roster.

--> https://www.gosugamers.net/dota2/news/70354-tundra-esports-without-a-roster-once-again
Thought I was watching their current roster playing during the BetBoom tournament yesterday or was that not them? Undecided

Another org entered the SA scene and it's Heroic(tweet). The downside with SA is that the slots are limited, so the path to qualification only gets harder.
I think that many orgs want to explore Dota 2 that are from other esports like CS2 and LOL. But it is that they've got a limited budgeting on their start and most of them when they don't see good start with the roster they've built, they're too quick to disband it.

On the other hand, Puppey's team - Team Secret have a new roster update. Midone and yamich out while Kordan and ekki in. I have no idea who's this ekki but if he's a young talent, better.
That seems the way these eSports organizations are progressing towards ever since FaZe Clan disbanded several of their own teams based in other genres.
That Heroic announcement was a kind of shock but a good one to know about. Thanks for the link to the post on X about it. If more SA based teams are coming into the DOTA2 arena then hopefully we will see one for Imperial Esports be unveiled in the near future too.

Thought this might interest some former WOW players since it is about an online game which started most on their own entry into the video game online world:
https://www.cbsnews.com/pittsburgh/news/missing-ohio-teen-florida-world-of-warcraft-account

Very peculiar to be found missing by logging into your world of warcraft account but it did have good story for the missing person in the end.

The time has come and this has been in the headlines for all who are involved in cryptocurrency as a whole.
Many bitcoin spot ETFs have been approved in many other countries, but the US since 2021 has had only future-based ones. Nothing more.

Having a thread on this topic for the past three years goes to show you just how many rinse and repeat moments getting a spot ETF has been for bitcoin.
But here is the latest of those headlines about how it is going so far, with $100ml in liquidations as the bell toll looms ahead on its approval soon as January 10th hits:

You can take a horse to the river bank but you can’t force it to have a drink of water. Someone not willing to recognize his problems cannot go about solving it. The patient first needs to muster enough will to get better cause he’s going to need a lot during the journey.
It really is quite necessary to find a new hobby that would help give you something else to focus on. Might as well be a productive one that could add to one’s worth.

I would expect a child to give weak arguments like “getting rich in future only if you continue gambling” and “how his luck is just around the corner” but I also wouldn’t be surprised to hear such from adults.
I’ll say.. this topic is quite interesting and engaging too. Would want to read other people’s approach to this.
A very interesting topic to see in the gambling section. This for certain at all levels, no matter how you look at it.

But back to the point you have made. Yes this is a major misconception of how the subject on a gambler's fallacy truly works.
I believe this had been discussed several years ago on another topic if I am not mistaken, as this was the initial time I had heard of this term being used in a public space and in recent conversation.
Having rewatched a series on Netflix just before the new year the main focus was putting blame on the character's shortcomings in life and financially due to gambling addiction.
And they directly pointed it out as a sickness one endures and nothing more than that.
So yes, I would have to agree with all who do see it as a mental illness inwhich one would need to seek treatment inorder to cure themselves of this disease.

I tried to click on the Zed Run than I saw it was horsebetting but there are two horsebetting on sportsbet so it doesnt make sense to have 2 icons in it si I googled what Zed Run is and this is what I got

Pretty cool huh to have a blockchain game actually integrated their game into a huge sportsbetting site like sportsbet. Im not sure if Zed Run has been on sportsbet for some time or not but this is the first time I actually saw them

I saw that too! It doesn't load for me though, or rather, it tries to load and I can see like something appearing for a milisecond, then blank.

Blockchain based gaming is such a little developed area. They did dice, they did crash game, they even did lottery (like on freebitcoin) but until today no new game tried to use blockchain randomness and hash to build a new game so if this is it, well done!
This technology really amazes me with what can be achieved in the cryptocurrency/blockchain environment.
They have been around for the past 5-6 years and after doing some research into them, they are very successful with this first project and they are based in Australia so that sort of came to a surprise aswell.

Really good marketable name for the winner of that race am I correct?

That is the one I was referring too @rohang

You might also remember him as the one with the now famous line from a tweet awhile ago too:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/60xi1i/jihan_wu_cofounder_of_bitmain_studied_economics
the tweet had since been deleted from which it was posted in 2017
https://twitter.com/jihanwu/status/731902686379933697

Jihan Wu is a man behind Bitman and he supported a scam team with Roger Verr, Craig Wright who want to be recognized by community and government as Satoshi Nakamoto.

I don't trust this man.

Also Wu wiped out his engagement in any report from his company Matrixport by saying that the company has many departments and many staffs who are responsible for collecting information, writing reports. He is not responsible for it and not engaged in approvals of those reports before publishing.
He does make himself look like a puppetmaster of sorts. From all his under the table dealings of the past and with bitmain the mining company on top of all their history in the space.
I don't even think his partner Mr. Ver fully trusted him either. And Mr. Wright, well, let's just keep this thread on topic shall we?

Yes @tread93 most certainly to the fullest extent would be agreeing with you on this statement you had pointed out! And the cryptocurrency environment has most certainly changed since this very thread had been created as I might point out aswell.
