463  Economy / Trading Discussion / Rapid change in funding rate behaviour, what does it mean for traders? on: December 31, 2022, 03:46:03 AM
There's suddenly a change in the funding rate pattern for BTC on bybit, I never expected the funding to favour shorts at these prices (~16k). The funding used to be mostly negative to +0.01% at the most since last few months. But today I saw +0.0144% and now 0.04%+.
Are we preparing for 2023 crash or its a trap ? Opinions?

464  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: I'm just curious on: December 30, 2022, 01:45:52 PM
I've never seen anyone talk about this before so I think it's better to ask for a straight answer, can Asic miners do double mining? I know its possible on Graphic cards but is it possible to mine two different coins on an Asic miner? For example BTC + BCH or BCD.
Each ASIC is tailored to mine a specific algorithm, so you will find them for a given algorithm. This means all ASICs meant for Bitcoin can mine all other cryptocurrencies that use algorithms similar to Bitcoin's.
ASIC miners optimized for BTC are usually pointed at whatever SHA-256 coin is the most profitable to mine at the moment.
Since BCH and BCD are forks of btc, they use similar algorithm of btc so you can mine them in an asic miner but not at the same time I believe.
465  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: 📝[Discussion topic] Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns📝 on: December 30, 2022, 04:46:04 AM
What's the current consensus on participants applying for spots in multiple campaigns at the same time?
Imo, this is just like applying for a job vacancy at different companies with your same resume. Should be acceptable as long as the person applying is a decent poster. You can easily judge the quality of interest the person has by their posting habits, etc.

From the managers' perspective - it's probably a major inconvenience if accepted participants are actually not interested as they went with a different campaign
If ppl are getting more bucks for renting their sig. space/avatar somewhere else (with a decent project), they change it. Hence, the project owners always have to keep their payrates high enough to compete with other campaigns here and attract quality posters instead of running a low budget campaign full of shtposters.

Ppl dont leave if the camp. got a good budget (for e.g. chipmixer).
466  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do we manage our crypto trading strategy on: December 30, 2022, 04:08:00 AM
the true challenge here is how to continue trading with out being obsolete as we know efficiency brings profit
Stick to your plan, i.e., once a sl is decided by you before you even enter the trade, dont try to shift it more lower/higher later and just stay with one or two coins (mostly BTC and ETH), a lot of variations can f*k up your strategy as all other shtcoins are highly manipulative and give insanse wicks every now and then unlike btc and eth. You cant wait for a candle closing if it wicks to your liquidation price before you can even think of closing the trade (on 2x lev as well on alts).

And make sure you have a good source with you in hand for all the future news, becz no matter how well a TA based strategy is, news and fundamentals play a major role!.
467  Economy / Speculation / Re: I have dream This Chart On https://tradingview.com, Is This Correct? on: December 29, 2022, 06:30:49 PM
Price rising upside slowly with very less volume,
Your chart is already outdated, we got a lot of PA since then. Please update it and connect the lines again Wink

Ok, here you got me totally confused, what are you expecting on the 25th, since today is the 29th?
I guess here he meant 25th Jan 2023.
However, I expect volatility on 12th jan 2023 where dec's cpi data will be released followed by another fomc meeting Tongue
468  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Transaction (Identical Addresses) on: December 29, 2022, 04:06:57 PM
If I authorize the command, the transaction will succeed or fail?
It should succeed but you won't be facing any problems. If you are sending to your own address, you should see the BTC being counted back to your wallet after getting confirmation from the blockchain. Typically, its just the same thing as "transferring" funds to any given BTC address.
469  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: what is the difference between bitcoin and crypto? on: December 29, 2022, 01:16:11 PM
hi friends everyone? This is my first post, and I'm not experienced in the world of crypto. I want to ask, what's the difference between bitcoin and crypto? I hope all my friends can explain to me,,?
Firstly, welcome to the forum.
Secondly, bitcoin itself is a form of crypto (since it uses encryption to verify transactions), there is nothing to differentiate here.
Thirdly, I assume you were about to ask difference between bitcoin and altcoins, anything other than bitcoin is an alt (even usdt).
470  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where is your bitcoin balance at the end of the year? on: December 29, 2022, 10:22:18 AM
So I removed the screenshot of my balance for my personal security.
I can still see your balance's screenshot in the quoted posts below the original post. You might edit them too and other members (@Nrcewker , @Helena Yu) who quoted the image should remove it as well.

Interesting, what is the source of that chart? does it include 100% BTC holders data? I am holding some BTC in a private wallet, will try to invest more throughout 2023.
You can find more on bitinfocharts.
Link: https://bitinfocharts.com/top-100-richest-bitcoin-addresses.html
Good luck for your future investments!
Having 0.01-0.1 btc is good but it is not easy to hodl.
Its easy if you dont look at it daily Wink
471  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where is your bitcoin balance at the end of the year? on: December 29, 2022, 09:14:24 AM
Anyway, who has a balance at the end of the year?
Almost everyone in this forum got a balance Tongue

My balance is in this range (0.01-0.1)
That doesn't count as "your" balance since the screenshot you provided looks like from an exchange (probably binance) and hence, you dont hold the keys so they are not "completely yours" yet.

and there are 5438179 total addresses in this range.
Even more. Just like your BTC being in binance doesnt count, there are a lot more ppl like you holding their btc in exchanges. So the number above is not fairly accurate.
472  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin payment laundering in order to avoid taxation on: December 29, 2022, 08:59:38 AM
Hello I have started accepting payments with bitcoin due to its anonym state.
Its not completely anonymous. Its pseudo-anonymous
(others can still look at your transactions and holdings  through your given public address).

Should I state them at my taxes as payments?
You should if its taxable in your country. If you try to break the laws, you maybe charged more with penalties later. Better pay your taxes legally on time.

Alternatively, if you're doing bigger deals in crypto, why not move to a more crypto friendly country who take none or very less taxes on crypto (you can find many on google by yourself). Btw, would you mind posting your country's name?
473  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you taken lessons? on: December 29, 2022, 07:24:46 AM
This year made crypto investors  realise that they need to be more cautious on the type of CEX  they use and what type of coin they are investing on
Ppl never realise mistakes here. We had one more major CEX collapse (mt. gox) in early 2014. Did ppl stop using cexes since then? You can figure it out yourself.
We had major coin collapse (bitconnect) in early 2018, where its value fell to almost worthless sht but did ppl stop investing in sh*tcoins since then? Ppl still are taking risks. They never learnt and never will. The cycle will continue, thats why many OGs too call the markets crazy and we cant change it. Be ready, there will be another bubble in the next bull market preparing to get burst later, lol. Tongue
474  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price 2023 on: December 29, 2022, 05:47:13 AM
what would be the reason for this fall?
FED can do this by more monetary tightening. They are doing this since 60k from last year.

remember that even the pandemic did not hurt bitcoin that hard back in 2020
The moment the market started collapsing soon after pandemic got viral throughout the countries worldwide, FED started printing more to save the economy in 2020. Hence, the markets rebounded very smoothly despite the covid attack. But this time, FED is on a different mood, they dont care about the stocks for 2023 as JPoW indirectly said this in his previous speech. Sad
475  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin debit card, no kyc on: December 29, 2022, 04:47:06 AM
If you gonna try, do post your experience.
Havent heard about the aforementioned website by you before. Is that company safe? I just went through their app on the playstore through the official link provided on their own site, and guess what? No reviews. I wouldn't trust such apps. If anyone even wants to try it out make sure you dont do it on your personal device, your privacy and security might be at risk.

476  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: 2see.ca Locked Links on: December 29, 2022, 02:56:41 AM
Hey, welcome to the forum! You might move this one to service announcement board since this is related to a service not project development imo.
Have a bitcointalk ANN thread link on the website for redirecting ppl to open discussion.
And my query is how safe is your site? Does it store the data of all the visitors?
477  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Again Satoshi let's talk on: December 28, 2022, 03:23:24 PM
Why the world economic expert and menthor told that Satoshi is Putin and If we find out Putin created btc so btc Will go Zero.
Firstly, nobody is world economic expert here, when it comes about markets everyone just gives their own opinions and they may change again when the markets change.
Secondly, if Putin is satoshi, btc would not be here at all. So just forget about him. I'd say lets test Putin to make another coin like BTC, Im sure he got no knowledge about the btc code and other tech stuffs, he'll fail.
Thirdly, its mentor not menthor.

AS we know Dan pena
Sorry, but who the F* is this Dan pena now? lol.
478  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Saving: If not Bitcoin Wallet then House for Fiat. on: December 28, 2022, 02:57:29 PM
What is the meaning of ROI
ROI stands for Return on Investment.
ROI is expressed as a percentage usually and is calculated by dividing an investment's net profit (or loss) by its initial cost or outlay.
Additionally, it is a popular profitability metric used to evaluate how well an investment has performed.
479  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Saving: If not Bitcoin Wallet then House for Fiat. on: December 28, 2022, 02:23:11 PM
Bitcoin is investment as well as gold, S&P500
S&P500 is an index which tracks top 500 U.S. companies. Generally, you can't really invest in S&P500, but you can in an index fund or ETF.

Bitcoin is a best investment if you invest in it a few years.
Depends on the timing too, if someone invested at the 2017 top, they are still in loss today in 2022. When bitcoin was newly introduced, it was moving up fast but as time is passing by we are slowing down on the volatility.
480  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: PAYPAL ,CANADA INTERAC,SKRILL,PAYONEER AND BANKS ACAILBLE FOR SEMI CLEAN TRANS on: December 28, 2022, 02:12:53 PM
i will receive any type of funds for 30% commision looking for long term engagement.
Trusting a newbie account for such type of deals which requires high level of trust? And you have a negative trust given by a DT member too. There are already other more trusted people who take far less commissions than you. Why should anyone deal with you? What is your incentive here to convince ppl? Any previous history of dealing with someone?
