461  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PandaMiner Price Adjustment! on: June 15, 2017, 04:18:19 PM
They just posted a pic of their mining farm in the main topic. Looks like they are mining with my gear that I paid for and they said would ship last month!

Are they actually behind on some shipments?  If so, that is a big FU to anyone who is owed a miner currently.  "We promised a delivery date and missed it, but look, we don't have any fires with all the units we are currently running".  They just drop lower and lower in honesty.

Phil , could you sum up about prices :
what are the best prices you ever paid for new 1070 , 1080 and 1080TI ?

Thanks a lot

The best I've found...

1070 - $319
1080 - $419
1080ti - $639

Depending on where you live you'll have sales tax on those as well.

Due to demand it's pretty much impossible to hit those prices right now though Sad

Check out your local areas Craigslist, I have gotten 1070's at $300, 1080's at $380, and 1080Ti's at $600

Does anyone know a good trusted company for mining hosting that takes GPU miners?
463  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] BlackArrow Prospero X3 UNUSED READY TO SHIP! on: June 14, 2017, 08:24:46 PM
What do you mean just received from the manufacturer?  The manufacturer went belly up a looooooong time ago.  Bunch of liars and thieves.  Have you been in contact with them?

EDIT:  Huh, just checked out their website.  I guess they are still trying to make something.  Their chips are extremely out of date and are no where near profitable in the slightest, but apparently they are still attempting to steal from people.

Email sent asking about potential of selling the site.  I would love to keep the site going, its a great service.

There are other options.

http://polobot.com (closed for new subscribers)
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1928910 (very good working bot for Windows)

Yep, and I use them personally, but have been wanting to get a service such as this going.

Anyone know how long it takes for these guys to confirm a wire transfer?

I've been reading some pages on here and it seems its a lottery more than a sure thing. Very odd. You'd figure the 1 thing a company, who's looking for profits, would be good at, is confirming cash transactions. haha

I only wired them money once, and it was a few years ago, but it went through without a problem.

On a side note, my guess is they will continue to pump out miners, and why wouldn't they?  We know they make money off of them at a $1300 price point or so (when they first started selling them), so now that they are selling at over twice that, it would be insane not to capitalize as much as possible on those huge profits.  I am betting that this will go on for another couple of months until the price point is pushed down, then we will see them release a X11 miner.
467  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTS Pandaminer B3+ (2) on: June 14, 2017, 02:39:10 AM
I would offer .75 btc for the one that is currently working.  Unfortunately with these not being modular and panda miner kind of going AWOL, if there is any kind of further issues or anything else with these units they are a loss.

I just wouldn't feel comfortable offering any more than that.

Thanks
Thanks for a reasonable and respectful offer I will keep you in mind, again I'm doing a little more troubleshooting and contemplating over the next couple days
Goal is really to get these working properly & potentially sell to fund a more modular open air farm. I have been disappointed with these pandaminers since I turned it on the first time lol

Seems like you and everyone else who has ordered from them.  Good luck with your sale and keep me posted.

If you can host it or exchange the hard drive for one with ethos or something similar on it, ill take it.

Does anyone have hard numbers on what they have mined so far for a May batch machine?  I sold mine, but would like to know if that was a good choice or not?

I just got a payout from ProHashing, so I looked at my ROI spreadsheet this morning. Currently my single L3+ from the May 5th batch is 42% ROI in Bitcoin terms and 99.5% ROI in dollar terms.

At the current difficulty (and not counting additional profitability from multi-pools), I'm about 80 days away from ROI in Bitcoin terms. That's the only number that's important to me. I always want my miners to produce more cryptocurrency than they cost.

On a semi-related note, I use Google Sheets to keep track of my mining and other Bitcoin investments because it provides a mechanism to automate the spreadsheets via simple scripting. My spreadsheets gather the received Bitcoin coming in to my mining addresses and include that revenue in the ROI calculation. Also, Google supports BTC to USD rate conversion. I had to add LTC, because they don't support it yet.

So when I check on ROI for my miners, pretty much all I have to do is open the spreadsheet in a browser and refresh it. Most of the time it works well. Every once in a while something gets "stuck" (probably some Google caching algorithm) and I have to make a meaningless edit in order to get it unstuck.

I have a forum post on this subject somewhere, but the scripts I used then are pretty old. If any one is interested, I'll start a GitHub project and post my latest scripts and instructions.

That is a great Idea. I would love to try it out... I get LTC payouts from Hashnest hopefully i can track those in my Google spreadsheets. as well.

I made a quick and dirty github project here:

https://github.com/edonkeycoin/gsbitcoinutils

Let me know if you have any problems with the script.

Thank you so much for putting it together so quickly i was able to implement it a version of it for myself.

I use google docs for a variety of record keeping between mining, selling coins, and investments and this would be perfect to bring in the bitcoin price.  Only problem is, my spreadsheet has slowed down so very much, that it takes forever to enter numbers anymore.  Does anyone know if it is possible to allocate more resources or speed up my spreadsheets?

Would you host the unit for me?  I am interested, but the Linux server nature of this unit concerns me.

Ok, So, I have finished optimizing the first 8 TB drive, and it now reads at a speed of roughly 130 MB/s, which is about 10x better than it was, which is great.  I think I can get that up to over 200 with a little newer graphics card than the 280x, but we will see. (Actually I really hope that i can, since I was planning on speeds being in the 250 Mb/s range).

i'd love to hear your results (total/per drive read speeds) with a GPU and multiple hdd (like 8 or 16)

I will update once I get my 2nd external optimized (going through the process now).  I would expect the same mining speeds with the same GPU per device, so now it will be a question of how to speed it up even more.

I am now writing and optimizing more drives to continue this build out.

I purchased a Synology 8 drive bay with 8, 3 TB hard drives in it off of craigslist, since it seemed like a pretty good deal.  Got it turned on tonight and all set up and did a quick test with a 25 GB plot, and am getting mining speeds of about 1 MB/s.  Not too happy about that.  Any ideas on why it is running so slow?  Has anyone else mined with a network attached device?

With directbet closing i have been looking for an alternative betting site (stopping didnt work very well lol), and i have been very happy with nitrogen.  Have won about .7 btc on the NBA finals so far and havent had any issues withdrawing or ysing the site.  Very happy so far.

Any chance the bet will the game to into overtime added for MLB?
475  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: I must be a glass-half-empty kinda guy... on: June 11, 2017, 01:22:10 AM
Thats the same argument that has been going on for years, everytime a new device is released.  Will you make more in X coin than you would get if you didnt buy the rig and just bougjt X coin instead.  It is a very hard question to answer, but i think GPU will continue to be profitable for quite a while longer.
476  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Question about a decent rig to mining ? on: June 11, 2017, 01:16:55 AM
If the nicehash miner is running, you should be able to click on view my stats online and it will open the nicehash webpage for you to your mining address. That will show if nicrhash is receiving your hashes and if they are, how much you have made. There is also a estimated payout spot on there too to see how much you will make based on your hashing speed.
477  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Burst Mining Issue and Questions (Open Bounties) on: June 09, 2017, 07:15:06 PM
First off, plotting is going to be the slowest part of Burstcoin mining and while there are ways to speed it up, at least you only have to write the plots once.  It seems that your main concerns are with the mining, not the plotting.

Yes, plotting is the slowest part.  I figured it will be smart to slowly grow my mine, since buying a bunch of hard drives wouldn't make much sense if I can't put them all to work right away anyway.

My main concern is currently getting mining to be fast.  I am currently optimizing my first 8 TB drive to see if that fixes my slow mining issues.  So far results seem positive that, that will fix the issue, but need to be sure.  The optimizing process seems to be taking longer than the plotting to be honest.

Then, make sure that your environment variables are set corectly to point to the right directory for java.  There are many ways to check and many ways to change it, but the end result should be that "java_home" and perhaps "java" symbolically point to your java installation.

I am not entirely sure what your referencing here.  What problem does your solution pertain to and what does it fix?

Going to switch to SSD. Any suggestions on which ones to use and the connectors for them?

I have had a few different ones, they all seem about equal more or less. Kingston is always a good bet, but a little more expensive normally.  I would just go for value over brand.
