321  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Pappy Van Winkle - Free guaranteed arrival shipping :) *Rare as fuck* on: November 04, 2017, 11:49:43 PM
EDIT: Also, do you happen to know the laws around selling bottles that are held for investment?

I honestly don't.

I tried to call the ATF years ago and no one bothered to return my call.

Fairly sure that selling a fancy bottle for collecting purposes is fine... they are concerned about people trying to bootleg and such.

Only negative press I can think of in regards to fancy booze is some Chinese/Japanese kid got busted selling fake wine to the Koch brothers.  My bottles aren't fake, so no worries Cheesy!

I do know that your home/renters insurance will cover the retail value of bottles of booze that are being collected and displayed.

Insurance will not cover booze that is for drinking.

I believe they would only give you like $249 for a bottle of Pappy 23... which is lame, but I'm not 100% sure about what they'd pay out.

Thank you for answering my questions, I am definitely interested in sourcing a few bottles of the 2017.  At least 1 to drink and the rest to hold and resell in a few years.  Have you been doing this long?  Do you find they appreciate in value very much?
Also, I assume your not going to tell me how your friend sources them?  What kind of markup would you want on the current year bottles?

I will take the 2016 15 year pappy van winkle at $1200.  But I don't want it shipped until the end of next week if that is ok?  I have a business trip and will be gone until Thursday evening.
322  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Pappy Van Winkle - Free guaranteed arrival shipping :) *Rare as fuck* on: November 04, 2017, 11:23:17 PM
Holy crap, how did you get these?  I have been asking around in Kansas (since now is the shipping time) and if a store gets them, they will maybe get 1 bottle (notice not case, but bottle) and then they raffle off the chance to buy it at their crazy marked up prices.  I am definately interested and will look at your prices and talk with some buddies, but are you able to get more 2017 bottles?

EDIT: Also, do you happen to know the laws around selling bottles that are held for investment?

May I inquire as to why all 10 of my posts were disqualified in the last period?  I am looking through them and they don't see to be wrong in any way?
324  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: First Asic for SIA - Obelisk SC1 on: November 04, 2017, 04:36:42 PM
Not really sure about the profitability of the SC1 anymore.
There are other players in the market and it will be a fight about who will prevail.

yeah, I only got mine for equip deduction...I'm at 50% tax rate this year....and the good old 25% you can take off in full for computer 5 year equip deduction (stimulus) the same year

thus for 25% more risk than paying IRS 50% of my crypto mining....with that 25% I can apply to my taxes due this year....I got some of these

IF they just make 25% back after expenses I"m essentially even, with the above considerations this year..then IF I just sucked it up and paid the tax man on mining

on the other hand

someone NEW and using fiat and $$$ not mining.....is getting 25% and the other 75% of the product is all risk....none of my real life/justifications....correct or otherwise

hardly fair but that is how it is shaking out for me this tax year...thus the purchase (dubious thou it was indeed) Sad

Have you looked into taking bonus or 179 depreciation on your equipment?  Bonus depreciation allows you to take an extra 50% in the current year and 179 allows you to take the entire amount in the current year.  Just a thought, but feel free to reach out if you want more information.
325  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: New mining rig frame, suggestions? on: November 04, 2017, 04:34:02 PM
I´m not really that comfortable to have this kind of equipment bolted directly to a wooden structure due to the risk for fire in case of a short circuit or failing hardware.

But that it perhaps unfounded concerns.  As you implies, keep it cheap and simple, I guess the main focus is to make money after all  Cheesy

Don't get me wrong, your frames are really nice looking at your price point is better than anything you can buy that is equivalent.  But if your concerned about a fire, you have other problems than what your rig is being made out of. Step 1 would be to make sure your rig is stable and your comfortable with all power related inputs.  If you can't be comfortable with your rig not catching fire, then you need to rethink your build.
326  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: November 04, 2017, 04:30:24 PM
I have around 13 D3s available for sale, arriving late November. Now selling at my cost. ~$1500. 10 will arrive to NYC and 3 will arrive to Budapest. Let me know if you're interested!

Is this with power supply?
$1500 is to much, but $750 is even to much right now. hope you find a buyer.

come, i have 20 units, $750 each, with PSU for you.
U have to take the whole lot. No discount.
Payment is crypto, i only take Bitconnect. BCC

very good price!. Today you can mine $250 a month at current difficulty.

I can't seem to find a case where these would be profitable.  Difficulty just keeps shooting wayyyy up and there really isn't a price increase to compensate.  It seems like these will never make back their cost.

At this rate we'll not ROI the import charges alone  Grin
Question about the APW++ Do I need to connect it to 220v to have enough power for the D3?

What batch your D3's are from ? Did you get a 15 , 17 or 19 GH/s miner ?
As reported by a few members here on the forum , the 15GH/s version pull under 1000watts , so youshould be ok on 110-120volt.
I think the 17GH/s version should be ok also, those miner are pulling less than 1200watts , the apw3++ rated to 1200 watts on 110volts.
Im not sure about the 19GH/s version ,i have a few those , the power consumption is around 1150-1260 watts  for each , so i would not suggest to use it with apw3++ on 110-120 volts.

1260 watts is fine on a 110-120 volt outlet.  You should stay under 80% of the max load on a normal US outlet, which would be 1440 watts.
329  Economy / Auctions / Re: Where can I buy a Casascius loaded coin? on: November 01, 2017, 02:29:08 PM
Go to the collectibles section under marketplace/goods.  There is always a handful of people selling casascius at any given time.
330  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Taxes Mining Bitcoins on: November 01, 2017, 02:28:06 PM
Can't speak to Canada.

In the USA, IRS rulings are that Bitcoin mined does not become taxable 'till you either sell it for cash or spend it on "tangible property" at which point it becomes taxable at the cash value of the amount of Bitcoin you spent.

There's a lot more verbage involved, but that's the short-form basic information you need.

I suspect state and local income taxes (where applicable) have to follow the IRS rulings on the subject.

There is also some discussion now about trading for altcoins not meeting a like kind exchange rules.  The IRS has not ruled one way or another, so technically the correct way would be if you traded those bitcoin for ethereum, it would be like you sold the coins for cash and creates a taxable event.

State and local do not necessarily have to follow IRS rulings, but they generally do.  What you mainly need to watch out for is depreciation on mining equipment (many states do not conform to federal bonus or 179 standards) and gain/loss on sale of equipment.  I have not heard of a state not following the rules of when bitcoin becomes a taxable event, but always consult your local code or a tax professional familiar with your area.
331  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Poloniex $360K Frozen $0.00 remaining of $0.00 USD daily limit. on: October 31, 2017, 06:44:16 PM
They are not the quickest when it comes to verifying.  It took me months to get verified from 7k to 25k withdrawal limit per day.  Just be patient and send emails every so often so they stay on top of it.  It will get resolved.
332  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: New mining rig frame, suggestions? on: October 30, 2017, 04:32:03 PM
I understand the want to have nice materials, but really, that just adds more cost and doesn't help your rigs at all.  I went to Home Depot (any store that sells lumber will do), and purchased some 1x1's and just nailed them together into a very similar looking frame as yours.  The 1x1's cost I believe it was something like 30 cents per 8 foot piece and it takes 2 to 3 pieces to make a stand with some nails.  Entire cost was a couple of bucks per frame, which is pretty much the cheapest you can get.

Just my 2 cents, otherwise your designs look good and should keep your cards cool through that wind tunnel effect.
333  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: October 30, 2017, 03:13:04 PM
I just received my antminer today and I am having a problem with a setup.

I used a cable for the power supply that says on it that it supports 75 degrees celsius, 250-440V and 16A. But when I plugged my machine, the power supply cable got really hot (enough to not be able to comfortably hold it in hand). I know that the specs on the cable are probably enough to support one antminer, but the cable seems way to hot

Does you cable also get too hot?

Which cable are you referring to, the one from the wall outlet to the PSU or the ones from the PSU to the miner?

You can definitely cause a fire by pulling too much juice through an underrated cable so you want to address this.

The cable should not be hot to the touch at all!  If it seems hot in the slightest you need to immediately unplug it or risk causing a fire.  You may be using a cable that is not correctly rated or perhaps it is just a cheap flimsy cable that was made poorly or is showing the wrong specs.  Spend the few extra bucks and get a quality cable that will not cause issues.
334  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [OFFICIAL]Bitfinex.com first Bitcoin P2P lending platform for leverage trading on: October 27, 2017, 06:38:57 PM
What's going on?

We were not able to withraw US dollars from Bitfinex throughout the past few month, also if we were Germans or Swiss.

Is this issue in the menatime solved? Can we now again withraw dollars from Bitfinex?

Bitfinex is a criminal company and their bank accounts were closed. Of course , they opened another one but it's mainly used for their pockets and some "special" clients. They are using a shell company for that.

Bitfinex will never open new bank accounts for its clients because they are banned of the banking system due to their illegal activities.  Stay away of them!

Quite a bold statement.
Any proof for that?

337  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Building Bitcoin ATMs on: October 27, 2017, 01:52:11 AM
You should probably hire a lawyer instead of random people on the internet. You also should really post your country and other pertinent information such as what you really want to develop as "bitcoin ATM" is pretty general. A lot depends on how the machine actually operates.

Any ideas on the latest prices?

Thinking of probably letting go of:

Orange
Purple
Yellow
Green

Any rough idea of what you would want for at least the orange one?  I would offer .25 btc plus shipping right now for it?
