4621  Economy / Auctions / Re: Advertise on this forum - Round 52 - 52 SLOTS AVAILABLE on: September 26, 2012, 03:07:53 AM
I'd like to bid once for each of my companies. If this is not possible I bid 2btc for one add. If it is possible I bid 2btc for each one of my companies (3 slots total, i.e. 3 separate advertisements). Thank you. I.E.

2 BTC for BMF (primary bid if I may not bid as a company)
2 BTC for CPA
2 BTC for NYAN

30 @ 0.05

10 @ 0.20

One slot per person only. If your company has more than one person, each person can have a slot (if they have a forum account that's old enough). Do not use alt accounts to get more slots.
4622  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: TORWallet - Scammer on: September 26, 2012, 02:23:08 AM
Tagged.

Anonymous EWallets should never be trusted. Unlike anonymous stores, coin mixers, and most other services, anonymous EWallets have absolutely no economic incentive to not steal their users' coins.
4623  Economy / Securities / Re: Selling 17500 shares of GLBSE (actual shares) on: September 25, 2012, 03:53:31 PM
Theymos, did you have previous knowledge of the action taken against Goat's assets (being kicked off the exchange) when you decided to sell?

I did not. I am very irritated about it.
4624  Economy / Auctions / Advertise on this forum - Round 52 - 52 SLOTS AVAILABLE on: September 25, 2012, 01:19:28 AM
About one year has passed since the forum first started advertising. To celebrate one year of ads, I'm changing the rules this round to hopefully allow more people to advertise.

There are 52 total ad slots which are randomly rotated. So one ad slot has a one in 52 chance of appearing. 52 of the slots are for sale here. Ads appear only on topic pages with more than one post, and only for people using the default theme.

The ad lasts 7 days starting from when I put it up.

Ad writing guide

I will not be able to help advertisers with creating ads this week.

You must use this template for your ad unless you advertised within the last few weeks:

Code:
<span style="STYLE HERE"><a href="URL HERE">TEXT HERE</a></span>
You must send me only one line of text. Do not use any <div> tags. Only one link allowed this week. Test your ad on a copy of this page. I will reject your ad and not give you a chance to fix it if it's unacceptable.

- Ads must not contain images or JavaScript
- Ads must not animate (no <blink> or <marquee>). Subtle CSS hover effects may be allowed, since other links on the forum do that.
- Ads must not load things from external sites.
- Ads must not be taller than 3 lines of default-styled text (as they appear on my browser, which is about 700px wide). This is around 42px.
- I will reject ads if I find them to be especially annoying
- HTML should be valid XHTML 1.0 transitional. Use proper HTML entities for characters like '&'
- Note that your ad's style may be affected by the board's default CSS

Ad text may not contain lies, misrepresentation, or inappropriate language. Ads may not link directly to any NSFW page. Ads may be rejected for other reasons.

Auction rules

You may only bid in this auction if you are at least a Jr. Member and you registered before the time of this post.

Each person may only buy one slot.

Post your bids in this thread. Just post how much you'll pay for 1 slot. When the auction ends, the highest bidders will have their slots filled until all 52 slots are filled.

- When you post a bid, the bids in your previous posts are considered to be automatically canceled.
- All bid prices must be evenly divisible by 0.01.
- The bidding starts at 0.05.
- I will end the auction at an arbitrarily-chosen time up to 7 days from now.
- If two people bid at the same price, the person who bid first will have his slots filled first.
- If not all slots are filled, the total number of slots in rotation will be reduced.

You must pay for your slots and send me your ad within 24 hours of receiving the payment address. Otherwise your slots may be sold to someone else. I sometimes give leeway on late payments, but I will not do so this round. Make sure you pay as soon as you see my winners PM.
4625  Economy / Securities / Re: Selling 17500 shares of GLBSE (actual shares) on: September 24, 2012, 11:31:18 PM
Is the 0.3 BTC limit per share absolute? (i.e. Should I not even bother bidding if my bid would be below that?)

You can bid, but I think it's very unlikely the price will go that low.
4626  Economy / Securities / Re: Selling 17500 shares of GLBSE (actual shares) on: September 24, 2012, 10:13:53 PM
If they want to question you, like they want to question me, will you cooperate in the investigation?

Dunno. I might help them catch/prosecute pirateat40, though I'd prefer to cooperate with an agency other than the SEC.

I think the recent "emails from the SEC" are fake.

Would you consider selling them in lots of at least 500 shares in the same fashion as the forum's ads auction thread?

That's essentially what I'm doing now, but privately. I might make it public if I'm not happy with the private bids.
4627  Economy / Securities / Re: Selling 17500 shares of GLBSE (actual shares) on: September 24, 2012, 08:11:21 PM
Are you selling because the SEC is doing an investigation on GLBSE?

No. As far as I know, the SEC is not investigating GLBSE.
4628  Economy / Securities / Re: Selling 17500 shares of GLBSE (actual shares) on: September 24, 2012, 07:57:12 PM
- According to GLBSE current trading volume, if there was absolutely zero operating costs and trading stayed at this level, it would take 10 years to recoup the 0.30 you are asking for (10% per year). With the expenses accounted for (Dedicated servers are far from being free), I suspect this amount to be a small fraction of that.

It'd take ~30 years to "recoup" an investment in MSFT... It's strange to think in such terms when dealing with stocks.
4629  Economy / Securities / Re: Selling 17500 shares of GLBSE (actual shares) on: September 24, 2012, 07:47:20 PM
theymos, will you offer the shares to me as a borrow? (short)

No.

Yep, it's over. I'll send out PMs a little later.

I created the bets. Smiley I'm happy to see the bets finally resolved, and I'm very interested to see which one will win. I thought the winner would be announced a short time after the SHA-3 candidate conference, which is why I set the deadline so early.

I have most of my money on Skein, with some on BLAKE.

P/E is not confidential information. There is no reason why you couldn't release it.. is there? I'm not asking for details on how the company is run or any insider information. Just a valuation or a best-estimate. You're offering a minimum bid of 0.3, and you have advertised that you bought the shares at 0.05. Given how the market is pricing companies right now this seems to indicate a P/E of 3 to 6. I think that is very fair from a real-world perspective. Can you confirm or deny it is within this range? If not, I would be willing to sign a NDA to get this info. However I'm not willing to make a bid unless I know what it is worth.

I can't publicly release any info about revenue, profit, or dividend payments. I understand that you would like to see detailed financial info, and I believe this will be possible (after you sign a NDA) within the next few days.
4639  Economy / Securities / Re: Selling 17500 shares of GLBSE (actual shares) on: September 24, 2012, 03:56:49 PM
theymos, will you be building your own stock exchange? thanks.

I have no plans to do this.
4640  Economy / Securities / Re: Selling 17500 shares of GLBSE (actual shares) on: September 24, 2012, 03:53:57 PM
Seems pretty pricey. What'd you buy them at?

Each share was originally priced at 0.05 BTC.

Question: What is the trailing 3-month net income of GLBSE (essentially, what P/E valuation is 0.3 per share)? Thanks.
Second question, in your estimate what is the forward P/E for the next year (assuming everything goes as planned) at 0.3? Thanks.

I can't release such info.
