481  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] Quantstamp - The First Decentralized Smart Contract Security Platform on: November 28, 2017, 03:51:34 PM
last commit on 10th October on github
poor design and as i noticed no blockchain specialist in blockchain project
only 12 team members (according to linkedin), including advisor, ceo, coo and so on... where's your phd security engeneers you promised to announce soon? where's your people?

Not sure whether you read the bios on the site, but there are at least two Ph.D's and two senior security engineers. I also wouldn't base the companies future vision and progress based on Github. Github holds token sale code, nothing else. Their business model is reviewing and vetting other peoples code. So the question should be, is anyone using it/going to use it?
482  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is INS Ecosystem a SCAM? on: November 28, 2017, 02:08:50 AM
Spam is not equal to scam.
With so many ICOs popping up every day, bounty managers are becoming more and more creative. They are also in a competition with another bounty programs, so they are battling for every inch.

Reputable companies don't spam. They may be overzealous on their email marketing, but there's a big difference between opt-in and spam. Show me one Fortune 500 company that spams users en-mass...They don't.

I have nothing against free airdrops of tokens that can be traded at a later date. In fact I'm happy to see those appear in my account, but this is a pure marketing ploy, with no other value.

If this becomes the norm, sifting through all the junk tied to your account will become a massive pain in the @$$. Imagine looking at Etherscan and browsing through hundreds of spam tokens trying to find the ones you actually signed-up, purchased, or can at least trade?

This isn't a brilliant marketing ploy, it's spam plain and simple, and should be viewed and treated the same way as email spam.
483  Other / Archival / Re: 💥🚀[ANN][ICO] INS ECOSYSTEM - Connecting Consumers and Grocery Manufacturers 🚀 on: November 28, 2017, 01:02:28 AM
I don't get it. What's the point of the INS Promo airdrop? If all it does is let you spend 1 to get an extra 5% bonus on the ICO, why send 777 to ETH wallet holders? Given that they can't be used for anything else, it's just clutter on the account listing, with zero purpose. This seems like an incredibly badly thought out promotion. The dev team probably spent a bunch on gas sending these, and users are stuck with a bunch of useless tokens - if they could be exchanged for INS tokens after the ICO, that would be great, but they can't. This is the token equivalent of email spam.

777 is just a nice number, isn't it? We sent more than one to provide opportunity for user to share it with others, you may consider it as a gift. Those who missed INSP tokens distribution will be glad to receive it form other participants. By share - we care.

Yes 777 is a nice number - jackpot if it was worth something but it's not. You've airdropped spam tokens to promote an ICO that we may, or may not care about. No matter which way you slice it, this is spam. Why not just provide people a share link to give others the 5% bonus, and let the marketing happen by word of mouth like everybody else does? This is no different than spamming a bought email list, except that if I was to share 776 tokens with my friends (saving one for myself), it would cost me $70 in gas to do so. Effectively making the receivers pay to market your ICO for you. And...instead of getting me interested in your ICO, you've succeeded in getting me angry that spamming has now crossed the line between email and cryptocurrencies.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused and sincerely regret you see it that way and become angry. Thank you ofr the input and opinion, we will take it into consideration, no doubts.
We have never had intention to make it spam.

If you don't want it to be considered spam, make the tokens useful beyond being a blatant marketing ploy, and give people the opportunity to trade them in for real INS tokens. You have crossed a line by doing this. One that sets a bad example, and creates real concern about the ethics and thought process of the team behind it.
484  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Is INS Ecosystem a SCAM? on: November 28, 2017, 12:57:51 AM
INS Ecosystems https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2208591.0 has done an unsolicited airdrop of 777 INS Promo tokens to Ethereum wallet holders. The sole purpose of the tokens is to promote their ICO and give promo token holders the opportunity to get a 5% bonus, by sending them 1 token back. The tokens can be shared with your friends, effectively making you pay (gas) to do their marketing for them. In fact, if you sent all the remaining tokens, it would cost you $70 USD. The tokens cannot be used for anything else, cannot be traded, and will not be converted into INS after the ICO. They could just as easily have done bounty campaigns and provided affiliate links for bonuses.

I see this as a disturbing development in crypto - essentially being the cyrpto equivalent of Viagra email spamming. It seems to me, that if a company is willing to stoop to spamming people to promote it's ICO, the team should not be trusted. That aside, this approach should be condemned and stopped before it becomes a trend.

How do the rest of you feel about this? Am I the only one that sees this as cyrpto-spamming?

This black scammer rat must seat in prison! They was must release app in September.. Now - end of November..
USA have a good law, and I hope this scammers will seat in prison 100% !

1) Leave race out of it.
2) MANY tech projects fall behind schedule, and even more fail, simple fact. Also, there are huge hurdles to clear in using Blockchain for medical records. For one, it can't be visible or accessible to unauthorized personnel, which is not something native to blockchains usual open ledgers.
3) Never spend more than you can afford to lose. If you invested in PTOY, sell and cut your losses next time pumps a bit, or just HODL and hope to see progress.
488  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin reach $10,000 today 26 Nov 2017? on: November 27, 2017, 05:11:51 PM
There may be some fluctuation coming, but $10K probably won't be the hard cap. BTC & ALTs will probably keep going up for the foreseeable future. What's driving it? Take a look here: https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/9771-bitcoin-price-continues-to-surge-to-new-all-time-highs/

490  Economy / Speculation / Re: why this pump ?? on: November 27, 2017, 01:29:49 AM
It has nothing to do with Thanksgiving or the Christmas holidays. I'm surprised that people on this forum aren't better informed. The recent hard forks happened, or got cancelled, so nothing to do with them right now. It does however have everything to do with CME launching the first bitcoin futures service, which The Man Group ($100 billion hedge fund) and JP Morgan have said the'll be using. Do a little research and read the crypto new sites. It's well documented, with a $10K+ BTC expected as a consequence. Start with https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/ you'll find everything you need to know there.
491  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage on: November 27, 2017, 01:02:58 AM
I gave up mining SIA a while back (and switched to a non storage based coin) simply because, I don't see a future for it. I can't see any large company wanting to go through the hassle (and risks) of exchanging cash for SIA then using it to buy storage. Currency fluctuations can have big effects on profitability (Lots of UK businesses after Brexit have seen profits squeezed, or even wiped out after GBP took a dive) Why would a large company already at risk of currency fluctuations increase that risk by also getting involved with crypto markets, and with something as important / essential as storage?

With high speed networks, falling SSD prices (and increasing capacities) along with super reliable HDD's does SIA really have a large scale customer out there? Perhaps content creators could find a use for SIA as an alternative back up space - but the likes of a large multinational with huge storage requirements would probably already have their own facilities in place. Honestly, I don't see enough small scale users to make up the difference.

So, that's why I got out - I don't think the demand will ever match the supply. I think it's important to have faith in any project you're investing in (whether it's buying coins or using resources to mine them, it all counts as an investment!) - I have a great deal of respect for all those who do believe that there's a future for SIA - perhaps you can see something I can't... (or maybe you are just smarter than me!) - however, for me - I think there are better options out there.

Price volatility can easily be controlled by matching crypto to fiat at the time of sale. The main problem is the initial acquisition, and holding the crypto in a wallet. If there was an option to just pay with a credit card, that the billing system automatically converts to crypto for the sake of the platform it would be pretty viable. I'm not sure how Sia addresses these concerns, but they're certainly not insurmountable. Also, if Sia has time stamping, the potential goes far beyond storage and into proof of ownership and time certification. Hoping the Sia admins can fill in the gaps.
492  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: November 27, 2017, 12:52:44 AM
Don't expect explosive growth on Ripple. It's going to be a slow burn, but it's certainly not dead, not with the kind of deals they're lining up. In fact, it's long term play is far more promising than 90% of the other coins/tokens - the majority of which have no purpose beyond being a currency, or have roadmaps that are several years out before anything concrete will materialize, if ever. The fact that Ripple and XRP are in use and being adopted by major banks and corporations, guarantees it's future.
I'm not sure how long you've been in crypto but xrp is one of the most explosive coins. When it goes up expect 100% in a few days than it just sits there dead. When it pumps its fast. Take a look at the chart from its past gains. Nothing is slow in the crypto market.

Long enough to see the patterns. XRP sat at the $0.01 mark for nearly three years. It spiked in May, going up to $0.37 at it's peak, and has been floating around $0.20-0.25 since. Please don't take it the wrong way, but I think you're forgetting three key factors - 1) XRP is a private blockchain, which in itself meets a certain amount of resistance from the community, 2) the number of XRP in circulation will most likely prevent huge price increases (rarity typically drives price), and 3) That the price of a coin/token can be controlled by the issuer - e.g. by setting the buy and sell prices. Take a look at Solidity ECR20 token markup and you'll see what I mean. I can't state that XRP is doing the later with full certainty, but it would make sense given the nature of the clients they are dealing with.

Also, in the corporate world, steady and predictable pricing is critical. The volatility of most cryptos are their biggest hinderance to widespread adoption. Either way, I think XRP will see slow steady growth - which would actually be far better for it's business model. Explosive growth leads to pump and dumps.

Again, this is just my opinion, and I'd be happy if proven wrong. Time will tell.
493  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Airdrop] ntwk Token - The Awareness Project eLearning Platform on: November 27, 2017, 12:30:05 AM
Any word on when NTWk will get listed on other exchanges? It needs to be on some of the bigger exchanges to get real traction. Etherdelta is a good start, but not great for the long term.
494  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin reach $10,000 today 26 Nov 2017? on: November 26, 2017, 07:52:48 PM
It's currently hovering around the $9,350 mark, and will probably need to stabilize at $9,500 before making that final leap, but with all the anticipation of Wall St. jumping in on BTC, I wouldn't be surprised to see it hit the $10K mark by mid next week.
495  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: eth can rise to 500usd it? on: November 26, 2017, 08:08:33 AM
I don't know if ETH will rise 500,1000 or anything huge else, but I have just ONE doubt about ETH and this is the coin creation rules...

How a coin can reach a great value if coin is unlimitedly created ?

What will be Ethereum in 5 years, how many Eth will be available on the market if there is no limit like BTC ?

Thanks for your answers.

Ethereum requires mining, and will soon change to PoS. It cannot be generated in unlimited amounts. You're confusing tokens with Ethereum. You can create as many ECR20 tokens as you like, but they are not true Ethereum (no matter what people call them).
496  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] TenX: Making Blockchain assets spendable on: November 26, 2017, 05:44:38 AM
Hello

Just ordered the card yesterday, is there a way to know how long it takes to get it?
If you live in the EU expect it in a couple of months.

If you live outside of the EU, add it to your Will.

I think they found a card issuer for non european citizens, or correct me if Im wrong. I am not in Europe so I have to wait, but no problem with that.

I believe they have, however it doesn't cover the single biggest market. America. Canada and Mexico, but no USA. To make real profits and dividends, they need to extend coverage to the US.
497  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: ANN [PTOY] Patientory Healthcare on the Blockchain on: November 26, 2017, 05:37:16 AM
The biggest hurdle for PTOY in my mind, are the regulatory frameworks around healthcare, and being able to drive adoption. This is an industry where half the hospitals and Dr's are using Windows 7 and in some cases surfing with IE6. They're stuck in the stone age due to fear of new tech, so I fear that even with the best intentions, it's going to be an uphill struggle. That said...If, big IF they can crack it, it will be huge.

The last Tweet on Ryan's personal Twitter page claims "I was mentioned in variety today..." with a link to this article. http://variety.com/2017/film/news/joseph-cross-james-ponsoldt-summer-night-1202613541/

$10 for anyone that can find his name, or FliK mentioned in the article.

Actually, I can save you the effort.

Seriously, if he's posting make believe stories about being featured in articles that make no mention of him, one can only assume the worst.

His name was in it but a couple of houres later they changed it.
Dont know why.

That seems a little odd. I would like to think TI wouldn't stake his rep on a scam, so I'm still somewhat hopeful regardless of the silence, but I'm glad a sold half when it was at it's peak and made my investment back.

Congratulations on concluding your ICO.
