Smiley A warm welcome to our Chinese investors. Good to see you here

Thanks for taking the time to respond to very in depth questions people post here Richard.
@kb4scv cheers for bringing up these well articulated questions, it makes for a very interesting read.

Rock on folks, following IOC with great interest.

Edit: So if I summarize the above correctly due to chain interoperability people can transfer bitcoin to an IO alias? That means if I register my name people can send bitcoin to a simple address instead of a long string of letters and numbers? That would for sure make widespread crypto adoption a LOT easier.
The fees associated with the alias register would flow back to holders of IO. That kind sirs is indeed brilliant.

@mrwhitebytes

Thank you for your elaborate reply. If I am not mistaken you were a big IOC supporter a while back. Are you still in or have you chosen a different project (Stratis) to support? I ask because your posts were usually spot on in terms of vision on real world usage of crypto.

Kind regards,
Springfield

Thank you so much guys for the update and all the hard work that you have put into this project

I agree. I've been watching this thread for over two years now and I am very impressed. I won't sell a coin until IOC reaches it's rightful place in the top 10. Even then I'll keep most of my stack. This project truly has a fighting chance of going mainstream. Thank you team for the unwavering effort you put in daily to make this dream come true.

great oppurtunity showcase iodigital for diona release and a good pr promo. march april may than ita dead summertime crypto scene

Well i think crpyto now does not have any "off season" due to the massive attention it now has and the huge influx of cash, so i think we wont see any quiet moments now like in the past.

BTW > Check Poloniex, someone is buying all IOC under 20k it seems, looks a lot like some BIG news is expected.

keep staking guys! Spread the good word of IOC

You are absolutely right. This year will be great for crypto. Good to see you back in the thread btw Smiley

Is there an (approximate) eta on the GUI wallet?

That's a hard question to answer. Design will commence very soon for the Windows GUI wallet and integration will start after that. It's RFP-1, so it started first. Consultation is happening right now with the accepted proposals, so I will post updates as soon as I have them. It's a new process for the new developers as well, so that takes a bit of time too. It's moving though. Not the answer you're looking for, but that's the situation on the ground - I hope it helps!

Thank you for your answer! Waiting patiently

Once the working DIONS beta is out I wouldn't be surprised if venture capital will invest.
For all the newcomers here: the lead devs are in ongoing talks with a large VC firm.
We aren't there yet, but my advice is to hold for the long term.

I've been here for over a year and have my full confidence that I/O will make the top 10, but by all means do your research.

What happens if something is proposed that is outside the scope of your developer skills?
You should inform the community of what is within the realm of possibility at least.

I dare to bet that there isn't even a true dev onboard. Just one more vaporware hype to push the price to 1k satoshi then dump and butthurt, butthurt everywhere.
490  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] • CYGNUS • [CYG] • X11 POW/POS • Consensus Polls • Dynamic Development on: March 01, 2016, 05:20:22 PM
They may need time to make the roadmap.
Our first major checkpoint is the end of the First Consensus Poll, because then we can start to implement and realize the "results" voted by community. So we haven't created a roadmap because we don't know what the community will demand. As in a few hours the first submission phase will start, we will see in a few days what are the most requested things to be realized.

I ask again:

What does this coin offer besides an airdrop?

No roadmap, no features, no nothing so far

So what about the plans for this coin?
A fair distribution is all fine and dandy, but what is the focus?

I guess we can start a round of votes tomorrow, but what are the options we can choose from?
493  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [IOC][ I/O Digital ] I/O Coin - Identity SideChain - Private Messaging - POS I/O on: February 29, 2016, 08:18:37 AM
Forgive me for speaking frankly, but you guys need to seriously step up both your PR and dev game.
There are multiple projects launched that offer similar features as I/O coin.
One of them even has a working nameserver and features like DIONS from what I can tell.

I mean this as an encouragement, because judging how the other coins are doing there is a demand. There is a difference between "not wanting to create hype" and "we'll shut in our ivory tower"

You guys are all awesome hardworking people, but please be aware of what is happening right now. There are 5 coins with decentralized storage, nameservers, domain registration etc etc and they are all doing great, so please don't get left behind

A little more frequent updates, some progress pics etc you know keep us informed. Focusing only on development and not on PR can be a costly mistake. We need to get people onboard now, to think everyone will out of the blue embrace I/O as it is released is a bit ambitious imho.

Sounding harsh I know, but with the best intentions. Love the project, but I feel there can be achieved more in these early stages.

wow...

this coin was difficult to mined  LOL

and from https://dcrstats.com/  i can see Dev subsidy: 3.1195 DCR  Huh what was taht ?

10% of the block reward goes the development fund.  A request for proposal is made to the community. If a person makes a proposal, it is approved, and when that person delivers the work, they get compensated in DCR for their work. It is a fund to encourage other people in the community besides the original dev team to start making improvements to this coin. Here is the link to the address with the disbursement fund. https://mainnet.decred.org/address/Dcur2mcGjmENx4DhNqDctW5wJCVyT3Qeqkx
At this moment nothing has been spent from this fund.
I am not certain who controls the private key for this address. I suppose that it could be subject to abuse.
Edit: I guess Decred Holdings Group LLC ("DHG"), a Nevis LLC controls the private key for the fund. They are an offshore corporation it appears. Not certain who the officers are at the moment, but probably the members of the current dev team.

thanks for the info, hummm this coin was innovative indeed LOL

Well, the code does not appear to a copy and past clone. So, I guess that is innovative in a way. However, I do not see a clear marketing strategy for this coin, ATM. Tinkering with code, and making improvements with code is great, but ATM, the only purpose of this coin seems to be trading on the exchange.

True, and that is also my concern. Lots of coins that had absolutely great ideas fell victim to a somewhat shut in/ivory tower approach focusing only on tech, without a solid PR plan. Look I am impressed with how Decred is holding up so far, but for any chance at mainstream succes they need to cool it on the techno babble and tell the story in layman's terms.

495  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: WARP - Something different ---- VPN & SYNC ---- YoBit & SafeCEX ---- on: February 28, 2016, 02:19:56 PM
There's a lot of uncertainty surrounding the future of this coin.

I'm transferring WARP to yobit.net tonight to dump a large chunk of WARP.

A 10x gain from my ICO investment is a bubble I think.
What happened to that supposed uncertainty and that dump you were supposed 2 perform,? Not seen anything yet!!!  Wink

I think this announced dump happened one hour ago. Lucky I grabbed some of them. Thanks bro!

No, I still haven't dumped yet.  Waiting for a little more buy support then dumping 10k.

You should sell before I crash the price down to 0.00015000

I'd be really surprised if you have more than 0.5 BTC to your name. You literally sound like a Yobit minnow playing with his lunch money.

I don't know what that link does but it looks suspicious as fuck. Do not click on that link

That's a common airdrop confirmation link, nothing suspicious. Check your own e-mail, you have the same (with different numbers ofc).
Ok thanks I edited my post. A newbie account posting a link just rang all alarm bells, well I guess better safe than sorry Smiley

No developer or project member will trade any of their bring-up DCR for 12 months and c0 will not trade any of its bring-up DCR for 24 months. These funds are therefore ineligible for trading during that time. Source: The Project's Commitment

Very nice announcement. So this means 840k coins less available in the market

Can anyone tell me the number of coins currently in circulation? I can't for the life of me find it anywhere

Wow the DIONS layout looks amazing. I love what you guys are doing with the social media like integration Smiley It makes using Blockchain tech a bit more personal and intuitive, great for welcoming newcomers to the crypto realm. I agree with Joel that the tech needs to be perfect before a public release, take as long as you need I'd say. Feeling glad to hold IOC
